Ok so I've bought LP but have a problem. It won't sync with my Googlemail account. Add the GMail widget, nada. Add the calendar, nada.
I have removed my Gmail app (root) in favour of the SE mail client, so maybe this has effect but surely the calendar should sync? I have my google mail account configured in Accounts & sync and it works fine elsewhere.
Anyone else run into this problem? There are lots of hits on a Google search, but no answers that I can find. I'll post to LP's board if no-one knows but figure the responses here will be better
My bad - it seems that you need to have the stock calendar sync'd to Googlemail & then LauncherPro feeds off it. I just didn't expect that cuz I had other 3rd party calendars that didn't depend on the same

Anyone has issues with syncing Google calendar to Captivate. One of my gmail calendars has multiple subcalendars, and none of them will sync to the Captivate calendar. The only way I check google calendar is set a bookmark shortcut to home page which is kind of frustrating since this is an android phone.
Pretty much what i have done in regards to syncing anything with google is to simply use the exchange feature and make all my accounts corporate.
My wife and I share a calander, so we have a shared google account set up as "corporate exchange" on my Galaxy and her iPhone.
I also have my own personal account for all my contacts setup as exchange and yet another account set up as exchange for photos I take for my business.
The sync seems to work better with exchange account setups as opposed to just email account settings.
The setup is a few extra steps, but quite easy.

Hey All,
Is there and Android native app that syncs your exchange calendar with your google calendar...
Like Moxier, Touchdown, etc. are all fine, but they have their own calendars - I just want one calendar with everything (in this case, my google calendar)...
Yeah, I know there are desktop apps, but these are useless if you're on the road for weeks and only carrying your beloved Android phone...
Thanks!
Thought I'd answer my own question since no one else could... That way, if anyone else wants an answer to the same question, here it is...
Yes - 2.2 gives you exchange calendar sync, so all your appointments appear on the one android calendar. Nice - no need for Moxier, Touchdown or anything, and I only have to look at one calendar to find out my schedule, not 3...
Looks like the Sense Calendar doesn't show some of my other calendars from my Google account. One is a shared calendar from my wife, and the other is an extra calendar I created within my google account. Any ideas?
I did not have this problem with stock Calendar on N1.
Do you have it set to show all calenders?
Yeah, but the missing calendars don't even show up as options
I would check the sharing and permissions in your Google account for the calendars you would like to see. Other than that, I really don't know.
more fun.
In hopes of "resetting" my calendar, I tried unsyncing my calendar from my gmail account... but my calendar on the phone STILL SYNCS with my gmail calendar.
WTF?
Now I'm not only annoyed about the crappy calendar, but worried about my inability to cut off syncing access.
Root can't get here fast enough for me.

Click to collapse
this matters for sharing with other people. It shouldn't matter for sharing with myself...
Solved
Huh. looks like it's a bug with Android and not Sense.
I had the same thing happen with my Iconia. I finally figured out it happens when adding two google accounts to either device (which happen to share a calendar), and removing one.
The ICS calendar app won't sync with Outlook and there is no option to add an Outlook account - only Google and Exchange. Is there another apk that will fix this issue so I can add an Outlook account?
touchdown
I use touchdown app in active sync mode for that, which is a nice outlook ui anyway. May be some custom roms come with the proper encryption support if you search.
I use Google Calendar Sync(http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955), it's installed on my desktop, and sync's with Google Calendar, so when my device sync's with Google Calendar, I'm good to go. Been using it for a long time now and works great
I can't use Google mail, contacts or calendar due to the security issues of using cloud storage for sensitive information.
I wonder if using the calendar app from froyo will work. It synced directly with Outlook.
I'll give Touchdown a look. Thanks for the suggestions.
Not sure where to post this really. Have installed Nyssa Nexus and as the title says, no matter how many exchange email accounts I try (Google, Outlook, Blue Mail Nine), none of them sync my contacts and the exchange account isnt visible on any of the calendar apps I try either. Never happened before but right now I have email but no contacts or calendar entries.
I'm sure this is a pretty simple workaround I dont know about so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be grand
Go into Settings - Applications - Permissions and allow exchange services access to contacts and calendar.
