[APP][2.2+]Mark All SMS Read - Android Apps and Games

This app does one thing and one thing only - mark all your SMS as read. No more frustration opening each and every unread message to mark it read - this app does it in one click.
I was getting annoyed by all the unread junk SMS messing up my unread count in Dashclock and other apps. So, decided to write this.
You can either launch the app and touch the check mark or you could add a shortcut to your home screen.
Note to KitKat users:
In KitKat and above, the application should be the default messaging application for modifying read status of SMS. So, for KitKat and above, app will ask to set 'Mark All SMS Read' as the default messaging app. Once all SMS are marked read, the app will ask to change back to the original messaging app. So, for KitKat, it will be 3 clicks.
If you absolutely love the app and would like to support my other development, you can always buy the donate version. There is no difference in the functionality between Free and Donate. No ads or other annoyances in either free/donate.

Is it possible to auto delete SMS?

Let's say that a friend of mine sends texts to someone that he wouldn't want my, (erm his) wife to find out about.
Is there an SMS manager that will auto delete all texts to and from a certain number at 5pm, for example, each day?
My friend will be very grateful for any ideas.
look for a firewall app it wont delete them but it will hide them.
Not exactly a common request, so probably not.
Should be easy enough to knock up an app to iterate through the messaging inbox and delete anything from number x. So if you know VB/C#/C++, or care to put in a few days learning, it should be an easy enough project.
Who knows, you could even profit from it, and we could see AffairCoverup Pro(TM) released in MS' new app store.
Yeeaaaah. ACP(TM) We have a title. I just need to learn to program...
Clean sms periodically

cool app ! I was almost sure that was not possible to do that !
SMS Organizer - should work for you
Try SMS Organizer ( search for SMS Organizer by trailblaze in google play store)
It can auto delete sms when the sms sender matches some predefined number or string.
Basically you can set 'rules' where you mention that if the incoming/outgoing sms macthes certain conditions (say the sender is so and so,or the message text has a certain keyword), auto delete/move it to a custom folder.
Great app to organize and manage your sms inbox bye the way.

[Q] Would this be possible? Contact/Twitter for Messaging

Me and some friends mostly use twitters "direct message" function to send SMS-like short messages.
Now I had an idea if it's possible to write an app which allows you to write direct messages through a shortcut in the contacts app.
Just like I open the contact app, select the contact who should get my message, tap on "Send DM" (or something like this" and a little window opens in which I can write my message.
I don't know anything about writing apps myself so I just want to know if it's possible, of course if someone writes this app there have to be some other features, like notifications and display the characters count.

I'm sorry for posting again without responses, but I think this idea is too good to be not noticed.
The good things about this app:
-messaging about data connection, no sms costs
-messaging to everyone who has twitter and follows you
-no need that your chat partner has got this app, cause it works trough all twitter clients
-no need to sign up for another service, which only one half of your friends use
-comfortable direct messaging through a nice UI
The bad:
-only 140 characters
-no pictures, files or anything like this due to twitter limitations
I hope now someone will notice this thread
I think it already exists and is available for free in the market. The name of the app is AndroChat.

Oh, you're right and I thouht this would be a great new idea..
Androchat works, but the UI is not very comfortable, are there any alternatives?

[APP][UK & Ireland] SuperText v1.82

SuperText is an SMS application that replaces the standard SMS client.
Where it differs from other applications that also replace the standard SMS client, is in its ability to provide FREE SMS between SuperText users and the ability to include a location tag in messages you send.
Works with your existing SMS Inbox maintaining existing SMS conversations.
Displays all messages in threaded conversations.
Provides FREE SMS between SuperText users if both have data connectivity.
Uses your phone number as your identity to allow other SuperText users to locate you automatically.
Maintains all messages in the same thread even if some are delivered over data and some over SMS.
Faster delivery times over your data connection compared to SMS.
Switches between using SMS to deliver messages and IP delivery where appropriate.
Allows the inclusion of your location in messages sent to other SuperText users.
Shows Instant Messaging like feedback when the other party is typing.
It is available in the Market in the UK and Ireland and works on 1.6 and higher. The reason for the geographic restriction is that there is a server side component for the free SMS delivery and I want to manage the scaling of that to preserve the user experience as the service grows.
I appreciate any feedback you can provide and will monitor this thread and reply to questions and comments.
Thanks.
Version 1.83 has been released in the market:
Added limited support for MMS display. Text and image attachments are catered for, MMS messages are merged into the same threads as SMS messages.
Fixed bug when sending message via IP that could cause the sending dialog to persist.
Thanks.
Version 1.84 has been released in the marker:
Messages sent over IP are now "Store and Forwarded" on the handset. The handset will retry delivery of failed IP messages up to a configureable limit (default 5 minutes), if it still hasn't managed to deliver the message, it delivers it via traditional SMS.
Fixed registration problem on 1.5/1.6 devices.
Thanks
Version 1.85 has been uploaded to the market:
Fix crash when queued up BACK presses were delivered to the application after it had been dismissed from the foreground.
Add heuristic to keep threads in order when messages are exchanged over IP by two handsets with skewed clocks.
Thanks
Just discovered this today and it seems like a really good idea. Previously I've been using a combination of handcent and ping and so having something that could potentially replace the two is quite appealing.
I think it would be nice to see some visual customisation options like a dark theme etc., although I can understand that at the moment you're probably more focused on functionality. Definitely an app I'll be keeping hold of though. Looking forward to future updates.

Hi Neilix, thanks for the comments.
Yes, still concentrating on functionality, we have a long list of gaps that we want to plug before we open up the look and feel.
Version 1.86 avilable in the Market:
Now when viewing a thread, you can move directly to the thread "above" the current thread in the Inbox by swiping left on any message in the thread. Likewise, moving "down" the Inbox can be accomplished by swiping right on any message.
Thanks.

Read all your Whatsapp received messages without opening WhatsApp application!

Hi, I published an app that allows you to read all Whatsapp received messages without opening whatsapp application, so without updating your last access and delivering the two blue ticks! You’ll see messages grouped by sender (single or groups chats)!
The application's name is Mod Edit: name removed , look for it in the Play Store!
If you use the WhatsApp widget on your home screen then you are able to read all messages sent to you on WhatsApp without any extra application.
I'll never pay something that the app itself already has. The Whatsapp Notification Widget practically does the same job without downloading any third party app. Also you're not able to post a paid app in XDA without a free or tailored version of it. Cheers.
Thread closed until a free version Is available to XDA members.

Gmail app with Labels and Undo?

Is anyone aware of a Gmail app (paid or free) that can do the following, just like the Gmail web interface?
1. Ability to assign label(s) to emails/conversations and have those label(s) shown next to the conversation title in the inbox
2. The Undo feature, when moving or deleting mail. Great for my occasional slip ups sending a mail to the wrong label.
Right now I'm using TypeApp, super feature rich but missing those two key features important to me.
Thanks!
