Database Info

[Q] No data signal at all

Hi my dad just got the skyrocket and his network data isn't working (4g,3g,etc..). Wifi and regular phone signal is working just fine but when I turn wifi off, I get no connection. I have tried disabling and enabling packet data and rebooting the phone countless times but still no lock. I haven't messed with the APN though. Any ideas?
P.S. I know a lot about rooting and everything as I have a captivate with a custom rom. However my dads phone is not rooted and I'd rather prefer a method that involves not having to root the phone.

I've already seen that thread. I was gonna try that. The thing is the icon for 4g wont even show up.

I had the same problEm you need to call at&T they have too add that u have an lte phone and reset your data. Trust me same exact problem a 5 minute call too att solved it

Mine did the same thing call att tell then you have lte phone . Make sure there aware they had to change stuff on my plan for my data to work and i had same sim so i went too att today they gave me an lte sim card my data worked after i called then but u still need the lte sim this is what i poated in that pther thread. Just call at&t theyll straighten u out

I am presently in Nigeria and I got a Verizon s3 through a phone dealer. its running on android 4.4.2 stock. Calls and Data works well with mtn Nigeria sim. But each time I tried to turn on HOTSPOT, it shows 'EITHER MDN OR ICCID IS NOT VALID' and it wont turn on. Now am confused, don't know what to do and I need hotspot seriously.....Can anyone help?

To add to that..i will like to say I have already rooted the phone with trowel...and I have been able to assess the hidden menu. But I don't know what next to do.....
Even have got foxfi paid version but all to no avail.

Anyone using a Gear S2 3G on a different carrier than your phone?

Since VZW doesn't appear to be on board with the launch of the Gear S3 tomorrow I am looking to get it on T-Mobile.
Anyone here using an S2 3G on a different carrier than your phone? If so, how's the compatibility? Seamless? Can you receive calls made to the handset on the Gear when you leave the phone at home? Texts, etc?
I know I can connect via Bluetooth when using the devices together. I just want to be able to receive calls and texts made to the S7 when I leave it at home.

I want the handset calls and texts to forward to the Gear when I leave the phone at home, i.e. Cycling, working out.
I pretty much want it all to work the way it would if they were on the same carrier. I don't have a problem using Gear data as a stand alone. Just want notifications to go through.

It will connect. Forwarding works, but as but what I've learned is check to see if the gear is using ur phones number or the gears number.

I'll do more testing later

My s2 is with tmobile and my s7 edge is with sprint. Once synced it works exactly like it did when synced to my tmobile note 5.

I'm confirming if u have a Verizon gear S2 3G ... EVERYTHING WORKS. , since I'm always with my phone I took the 3G plan they have.

I have the S2 Classic SM-R735AZKAATT (for AT&T obviously) but I'd like to have it set up with T-Mobile.
Can I take this into T-Mobile and set up service? If so, anyone know how much?

Im not sure to be honest. The S2 has a, esim?, i think its called. Basically the sim is built into the device. I think that limits the carrier its tied to.

I'm not sure, either, about taking it to T-Mobile. I think you have to have ATT unlock it. Are you the original owner? My understanding it that only the original owner can unlock it. As for the cost of service on T-Mobile, if you don't have a phone on T-Mobile, it's about $19/month for unlimited calls, texts, and 500MB of data on your watch. My Note 4 is on Sprint, my S2 is on T-Mobile. It is a T-Mobile model. I'd go into a T-Mobile store and see what they say. Let us know.

I have Sprint as well with a T-Mobile Gear S2 3g. Can I activate this online or do I have to take it to T-Mobile since I don't have a T-Mobile phone?

Did you buy your S2 new or even refurbished off of Amazon or something? You might be able to activate it online if this is the case. I went to the T-Mobile store to activate mine, as I was buying it from a guy on Craigslist. I wanted to also make sure I could activate it. That it was paid for and so on. That worked fine in the store. I had already had a T-Mobile account for my original Gear S. When I got home, though, I had trouble connecting my S2 to my Sprint Note 4. I had to do a factory reset on the watch a couple of times to make it work. It was scary at first, because when I went to set it up, the only screen I could get to on my watch was a set up screen. I couldn't get past it. That's when I did the factory reset on the watch. And then reset it some more. Finally I was able to connect it to my Note 4. The original Gear S has a nano SIM card, so you can swap it out. The S2 has an "e-SIM" card. It's sort of hard wired into the watch, I guess. The moral of this long post is, I'd probably go into a T-Mobile store to get it set up on their service. They should also be able to help you get it connected to your phone.

Does Verizon's wearable plan consist of both a cellular and a data component? Or is talk and text only available using VoIP (data)?

cant receive sms or voice mail notification on verizon

Got my phone the other day and was able to send and receive txt . then after a restart I cant receive any txt . I called verizon they suggested a new sim card. That worked for about 2 hours then they stopped coming in. Also Theres no VM indicator. Im on an unlocked phone. Any thoughts. Or is she going back

It's happening to me too. It worked then stopped. Try using the vzw message + app. Its the only thing that works for me as of Now.

Someone said u need to make sure Verizon has hd voice enabled o. Ur Verizon account too. Maybe that'll help.

I have HD voice. I have had. O issues making or receiving calls. The txt problem started yesterday afternoon. Several others have reported it as well.

The problem is they are adding "CDMA-LESS PROVISIONING" to the options and that blocks the incoming texts and VM notifications. I fought with this for 2 days and put my SIM back in my 10. Problem still remained until I called and had that removed.
Not sure if they remove it while using the U11 if it will come back on its own.

I switched back too, and had to go through the same thing. I actually had to use another sim card they were unable to remove it. Once it was removed I immediately received 3 days of messages. Sounds like they have a major issue with provisioning a non CDMA device.

No, remove it. That's what's blocking texts.

Standard worked for me. It's luck of the draw I guess.

just talked to them. lady seamed very helpfull . she explained to me that an unlocked phone will only work properly if they activate. YOu can not use the online website. I did have CDMA-LESS PROVISIONING off with HD voice on but the phone was not fully activated until they turn the phone on

Well bad news. I did a power cycle and after 10 minutes not receiving messages again along with vm indicator. It's definitely something on Verizon end.

I was told by tech support that they could not turn off CDMA-LESS PROVISIONING. As of right now, the only way everything works is to use the green "messages" app. For whatever reason, i cannot receive MMS when using 3rd party SMS apps. STILL cannot figure out why.

3BRJ5 which is supposed to be a BYOD firmware, Meaning shut phone off and can put a tmobile or any carrier simcard in it and will work for that carrier if have active simcard. As i was told about this and some have tested this.

But I also got and installed mine this morning.

I am on cricket this OTA just killed it for me. Killed Wifi Calling, VOLTE, Message Center Settings all got disabled. You should be Ok if you are on AT&T. I also tested it with a Sprint SIM card and after the restart the bootlogo even changed to Sprint, which I guess is good if you are switching carrier. But it sucks that AT&T can't get its stuff together and fix cricket, since the cricket sim cannot provision carried features!

ATT features work just fine on ATT. If your having a problem with cricket, then contact cricket. Not sure why your blaming ATT......
