Jellybean TouchWiz ROM - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

Are there any TouchWiz ROMs based on Jellybean for the Blaze? My girlfriend and I used to have S4s, had to sell them so she got this phone and she misses Google Now. She is rooted, so I figured if I can get her a ROM that's basically the same (visually) to her and has jellybean, she'll go for it.

why'd you guys get rid of the S4s? anyway, yes you can get a touchwiz rom on jb, you can flash any of the 4.1.2 roms (last ones with everything functional) and flash or install a touchwiz launcher ... i found an S4, S5 and Note 3 launcher here somewhere on XDA, it's by Vishnu or something, search it and you'll get it, it's exactly like S4 or S5, plus you can get google now or almost any other thing on it to run
good luck and hit thanks

Looking for a "stock" Jelly Bean ROM for S3

My wife has decided that her new phone will be the S3 from Verizon. She's coming from a Droid X2, so this will be a huge upgrade for her.
I personally have a Galaxy Nexus running Bugless Beast. I have done some searching and so far only found SuperNexus. Are there any other "vanilla" Jelly Bean ROMs out there for the S3 like Bugless Beast?
I want to keep it simple and avoid too many modifications if possible. In the end I may just root it and leave it stock for her as I know there are a ton of features built into it that she may like.
Looking for opinions too. Stay stock and wait for Jelly Bean to be approved from Verizon or unlock and ROM right away?
Thanks in advance!

At this point, you should stay stock and wait for Verizon Jelly Bean. For your wife it is better to keep everything stock. With Jelly Bean, the phone is going to be super fast and trouble free vs custom rom (specially when new update arrived, you have to do extra work to get the new update).
I would just wait. If shes coming from a DX2 it doesnt sound like she wants/needs all the mods. Stock is awesome if you want to make minor tweeks you can just root it. Jelly Bean will be over from Verizon early next year.
I put some custom ROMs on my fiances S3 and when I put a TW ROM on she asked what I did as she couldnt tell a difference. Tried a AOSP and she hated it so I ended up putting it back to stock and rooting it for apps like TiBu

Thanks for your suggestion. I may just leave her stock and root it to ensure we can back up data. She's lost data before on her X2 sadly when the flash card died and another time when her original Droid X died and had to be warrantied.
Thanks again.
I would put cleanrom on it for her. It has the stock feel but with a smoother experience.

Root the Verizon S3 1535

Hey all,
After looking over some of the ROM's available and other information regarding the S3, I'm a little confused on the rooting process. I've rooted my motorola droids and xoom, but this one seems different, no doubt due to 4.1.2, which my S3 is running. I understand that there are 2 sets of ROMs in here, with one set being specifically for Verizon S3 Android Development. Does it matter which I use? I'm liking hyperspeed rom, from what I see it looks good, but most of the root guides/walkthroughs I've seen are from last year. So my question is, what do I need for my unrooted Verizon S3 running stock 4.1.2 to root and install Hyperspeed or other JB Roms. One guide was very detailed but links to Odin and other files didn't work or was an old ICS guide. Need some pointers, been a while since I've done this.
Thanks in advance...
I recall using an app called "EZ Unlock" to root the phone, it was super easy. Once rooted and unlocked I think the next step was installing ClockworkMod or similar recovery. Then do a full nandroid backup. You should probably read the thread on backing up your IMEI as well, I don't know if its still an issue but you should do it just in case.
Now you can start thinking about the two sets of available ROMS.. Basically you have numerous flavors of TouchWiz and AOSP roms. The TouchWiz roms behave more like the stock os on the device and still have the Samsung camera, etc while the AOSP roms are more "Nexus" like. Personally I prefer the AOSP side of things and have settled on CM10.1.

EZ Unlock is for unlocking the boot loader not for rooting your phone. The IMEI issue normally happens when flashing AOSP ROMs but it has happened when flashing TouchWiz ROMs.

Can the Stock T.W 4.3 recent Update be applied to our G-Tab P3100?

Im hoping to see anyone of these great Devs in XDA come up with a Stock but Custom Touch Wiz 4.3 Rom for our Galaxy Tab 2 P3100, that would be Sweet, I dont Know Much about what these Devs go through Developing and Customizing these Updates but I'm truly hoping to see the 4.3 T.W update for our P3100. Much Respect goes out to ALL the GREAT developers on XDA. I thank you all personally.
Which recent stock update are you talking about? Did P31xx get updated to 4.3 by Samsung?
No Update from Samsung for 4.3 TW
My Question was that Im hoping to see a Custom TW 4.3 for the Galaxy Tab 2, this is what im hoping to see, or even better, i just read that the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 are getting the 4.4 TW update soon, theres already a leaked version for the international S4, so if one or both of those (TW 4.3 or 4.4) can get ported to our P3100 that will be GREATTTTT. Well just a thought, NAW more like a WISH.. lol

Nope. Not gonna happen. You won't see a stock ROM of a newer version ported from another device. Some apps and features, yes (happens quite a lot), but not the ROM.

And please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember reading TW is close source, which is why there are no custom versions.

[Q] Installing Custom Rom over 4.3

So I was getting sick of running CM 10.2 on my Galaxy SIII so I decided to go back to Verizon stock 4.1.2 rom and then before reading up on the 4.3 OTA update, I stupidly just went through the update. I didn't know how much of a hassle this was going to be, but basically I was wondering if anyone has any information on how to get off of this standard rom and back into the world of custom roms. Because I really really dislike touchwiz and really just about everything to do with this OTA update that I've had to deal with for the past pretty much month now. Any information will be helpful on steps I can take to get off of this ROM or if any work is being done to make this phone rock as much as it did when I first bought it.

Saferoot and Safestrap only available option right now.
I may add that saferoot is to root your phone and safestrap is used to install TouchWiz custom rom only.
how to get a clean 4.4
I've done the same thing as well with a similar issue, is the consensus that there is no way to move from a stock 4.3 updated phone to a clean non-touchwiz 4.4 such as CM11 or similar? My phone is quite slow and laggy after this update especially the keyboard, so I'm looking to pare things down to speed it up.

Updating Note Tablet?

Quick question. I can get a good deal on a Galaxy Note Tab 10.1 that is running 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It's a wi-fi version, no carrier. Will I be able to update to a newer OS such as Jelly Bean or KitKat? I should be able to just update over wifi, correct? Thanks - Dan

IMHO, exept for the N8013 you get OTA/Kies updates up to 4.4.2. If you have a N8013 OTA 4.1.2, for 4.4.2 you can flash Gnabo V7 4.4.2 which by the way is much better than stock.
It is a GT-N8013 running ICS. It can be updated then to Kit Kat, without rooting? This would be for my wife as a gift, she doesn't like all that "tinkering" like I do on my phones, LOL.

The N8013 (i have the same) can be updated to 4.1.2 via OTA o Kies. There is no KitKat for this model, and i do not think there will be. Samsung forgot about it. If you want KitKat 4.4.2 than you have to flash a custom ROM which requires a Custom recovery and for that SuperSU and root. But it is worth it. The Gnabo 4.4.2 ROm is amazing, free from Bloatware and running like Speedy Gonzales Its easy to do.

This is not totally true.. You can flash FACTORY Stock rom for the n8010 to this device. Its totally stock Rom with the Boot- loader removed so it does not Alter the ability to go back. THE N810 IS The same device only its sold internationally. this is the base firmware of gnobo rom...
OP this is your best bed right here to keep as close to stock . She will be with this rom

Yes, forgot about that possibility.
I would like to hook her up with a smooth running, no bloat ROM. I realize it's been gone over in some of the other 1000+ page threads but what does the Gnabo ROM give me over the stock ICS?
hope this helps..

Reasons to update
android 4.2
Samsung 2014 apps. including the new s-note Calender email and Others my mind slipped
Removed a Bunch of crap wear. and Useless apps.
Custom recovery where you can do full backups (can root without updating rom)
Moved Notifications to top Like on phone ( i really love this)
I think its a Bit faster then 4.1.2 stock rom.
You can rum 4.2 AND above only apps.
I am sure there are more
Reasons to not update
The new Multi window ui Kinda sucks. But it does work.
Prob more but for me its functioning file
You will no longer get Factory updates.. (ohh wait Samsung ditched us anyway)
Sounds like Gnobo rom would be best for you . But you read the forums and decide for yourself...
I would go for Gnabo Rom, and if you know what you do flash Boefflas Kernel. Top combination.
Would this ROM still be an improvement over 4.1 Jelly Bean? I was mistaken, it is a GT-N8013 running 4.1 JB.
