It provides recovery should anything go wrong. Now devlopement of recovery is safe
It also look like a new radio, root files and root directions.

I've rooted my droid2, and am now trying to get this .jpg extracted but the password is coming up wrong, and I am using phoxusgift which was displayed in the comments. Any assistance possible? Thanks ahead of time.

Yeah I am having the same problem. I put the password in and it gives me a CRC checksum failure. Is there something we have to do to the jpg file before extracting it?

I'm so stupid. I downloaded the Droid 2 Bomb.jpg and used the wrong password. It wasn't clear that one word was the password for the D2 and the other word was the password for the DX, I am assuming. (I am not downloading the DX image just to find out)
Can anyone that has signal issues with their D2 verify that the new radio is an improvement?
I somehow mucked something up. I've downloaded the SBFs and RSD Lite 4.7. How exactly do I go about recovering the phone? I've got the phone into recovery mode. Which of the 2 SBFs should I flash first?

I flashed the DROID2_X6_2.2.20_SHADOW first, then the other one. But with backup manager, all the apps will re-install. You have to un-install them and do a factory reset after the flash. That seemed to fix my problem.
The other alternative is to remove all the root apps and then try flashing the sbfs.

I tried flashing but it failed. RSD's error message said the phone's image is not compatible with the multi-interface super file. Any ideas?
I installed all versions of RSD lite to find that v. 4.7 is the one that works with the newer phones... maybe that might be the issue?
I'm currently using RSD Lite 4.7
UPDATE: Removing all of the rooted apps worked. Successfully flashed.
After I flash both files, what do I do next. My phone is unrooted, but now it doesn't have a connection to the network. Has a blue triangle at the top. All my apps are still there, and yeah... just not network connection...
Update: Figured it out and even wrote a tutorial.

This method is just for recovery. I think you can use this method if the .sbf file was a rooted version, but the .sbf file listed in the tutorial is just for a stock recovery.
To root, you can use this set of instructions. Takes about 15 minutes. Not very long.

Need help. I rooted and installed bootstrap. Now every time I try to flash sbf it fails. I have used rsdlite many times on my droid 1. I have the upto date 4.7.
Ok since i have updated to 2.4.330 on my phone, seems like my pandora only works about 1 song and it closes.. it never did on the previous version or custom rom.. anyone else have that issue with it? any fixes or suggestions
I would recommend you to try two things:
1) Do a hard reset and see if pandora starts functioning normal after fresh start;
2) Flash 2.4.29 SBF and and do not update to 2.4.330

where to get 2.4.29 sbf?
will flashing to previous sbf, make the VZ unlock code work?
i received one but i update it via OTA before entering the code - failed
2.4.29 SBF is here:
http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...id-2-global-sbf-file-2-4-29-full-rsdlite.html
Successful SIM unlocking is permanent; changing the ROM shouldn't affect whether or not the subsidy code works, then again you never know.. Verizon have meddled with this phone so much
For what it's worth, in terms of GSM operation, I've found the older 2.4.29 more reliable and stable.

What are the steps to flashing to 2.4.29 rom?
Sorry.
Download the 2.4.29 SBF file from the link I posted in post #4, and use RSD Lite (easily found with a google) to flash your phone.

Do I need to root my Droid 2 Global to flash the firmware?
Also I tried to download from the link you ask but I am unable to download from megaupload.com from Hong Kong.
The mirror link also didn't work for me.
Can someone please post the firmware on another server?
No, you don't need root to flash the sbf. You only need root for the 3rd party rom managers (e.g. to install Fission)
Which file upload site can you access?

Typically yes; you need to wipe cache when reverting from 2.4.33. Data is generally not a problem.

But why would Verizon want to have a faulty reception on the gsm bands on purpose?
You went back to stock, right? Is it any better now in terms of signal availability or it is the same as after updating the firmware?

Hi all,
First of all, I have done tons of reading and searching the past 24 hours. I cannot find a definitive solution and really want to be sure not to brick my handset.
Handset is on OTA ICS
Here's what I did:
1) Downloaded official JB leak from the thread on XDA
2) installed RSD Lite 6.1
3) Installed Motorola Device Manager
4) plugged in my Telecom NZ Atrix 2 in fastboot mode
5) opened RSD
6) ran flash with the JB leak
Then I get "Flash Failed 1/14". Now my phone boots straight into fastboot. If I hold down both vol + pwr I can select normal boot and it's all ok. Cannot reset through Recovery as it shows !android then boots back to fastboot.
From the reading I've done, this is either the wrong firmware or a driver problem (I am on Win 8 but tried on a Win 7 machine too).
It looks like I now need to flash a correct fxz for my device. I'm a bit hesitant to try flash again in case I brick for good!
2 Questions:
Why won't the JB leak work on Telecom NZ handset?
Would it be ok to flash "6.7.2_EDEM-18-MEARET" from the ICS Firmwares Superthread?
Current system version:
672.1.20.MB865.TNZ.en.NZ
4.0.4
GAS_ASIA_EDISONICSTNZ_P015
Build:
6.7.2_EDEM-20
OK... I figured out a fix
Using the script in this post I was able to restore to ICS by running the "restore to ics win" batch file inside the folder I downloaded of the 6.7.2_EDEM-18-MEARET.
Flashing with RSDLite would not work, I kept getting a cdt.bin error.
So, now I'm on OEM ICS (just not the Telecom NZ one)
Now to try get root!

Cool. Seems this will be helpful for NZ users
After a bit of playing around, I have come to the conclusion that RSDLite flashing will not work with Telecom NZ handsets. Next thing to investigate is if we can upgrade to JellyBean through a script like the above.
BTW, To get root I ran the 2nd file in this thread

I have a kiwi A2 and I have successfully flashed through RSDLite every time I have used it. I've been on the JB leaks and ICS flashed with RSDLite with no issues. I think this problem occurs when the phone is flashed with a mismatched ctd file and is then tried to be overwritten again. I know it's no help for you guys now, but for all others with NZ phones, it's something to keep an eye out for.
I have a A2 from telecom, ive soft bricked my phone a lot of times and always been successful on fastbooting/RSDLite. I use a AT&T official firmware to RSDLite and once successful i root it, install bootstrap and restore nanroid backup to TelecomNZ's firmware. At the moment im running CM10(JB 4.1.2) flashed via CWM. I have never encountered any fail flashing. gilda, my system info is exactly the same as yours i guess im lucky to get a good a2.

Hi,
Thank you very much.. This helped me to restore back to ICS(MEARET) from the telecom NZ one after flash failure. Is there any batch file similar to the one used to restore back to ICS for Telecom NZ users to install JB on those mobiles? or any other way to install official JB leak? Thanks in advance.

The issue seems to be with RSD itsself. Maybe we could edit the 'restore-to-ics.bat' script to flash the JB firmware instead? I'm not particularly keen to be my own test subject but I REALLY want to try CM10 and MIUI... If I'm feeling adventurous tonight I'll give it a crack and post the results :good:

All CM10/CM10.1 based ROMs and variants can be flashed on the stock ICS kernel. Most, if not all, of them actually REQUIRE you to be on ICS before flashing including the version of MIUI found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259993
There's no need to take the risk of modifying or attempting to modify the restore-to-ics.bat script just to flash those ROMs. You just need root, Boot Menu Manager, and a little knowhow and you'll be good to go.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.
There is a way to install stock jb on at&t atrix2, but cant get camera working!

Thanks for replying, and as was quoted by u.. issue was not only with RSD.. over writing cdt fails during running that "restore-to-ics.bat" script and displays " INFO: PRE FLASH VALIDATION FAILURE". but flashing doesnt stop and skips that cdt file and proceeds to next step. Hopefully u will crack that and help many Telecom NZ usere like me. Thanks again
Downgrading
Hi,
I had the same problem. RDSLite fails on cdt.bin flashing
Seems that the problem is that RDSLite will NOT downgrade your device.
Telecom NZ OTA version is 6.7.2_EDEM-20
The fxz available online is 6.7.2_EDEM-18
This fails.
AT&T fxz is later version, and it works fine in RDSlite

Do you mean to say this which is available in firmware superthread? "InlineFlashing_Edison_67.21.125_CFC_P3_APBP.xml.zip".
Does RSDLite flashing of Telecom NZ OTA "6.7.2_EDEM-20" also works ?
I used sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php source for fxz.
There's no 6.7.2_20, only _18. That might be the leak before the final OTA.
If you can find 6.7.2_20, that should work, or use AT&T one. That worked fine on my bricked telecom mobile:

correct me if im wrong,
i think that's basically an error dump file for the modems. if i had to guess, i would think you need to re-flash the baseband to fix whatever is wrong with your modem files.

if it were me i would get a stock file to flash which should replace everything back to factory.
try and find the one here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ for where you live.
these files are flashed with rsd, there are plenty of tutorials around if you need it.
i doubt you will find just the baseband file to flash, thats why im directing you to the full factory files.

there is no way to flash an equal version of trust zone with rsd.
he needs to replace all the files anyways.
2 possible solutions come to mind,
1. flash the next newer firmware with rsd, if that fails,
2. flash the same version with Mfastboot, if that fails, try the newer version.
figuring out how to bypass the tz fail is easy, but it will just throw another error when it gets to the next file you cant downgrade or re-write equal. thats why the steps i have suggested should be tried.

not really, depending on what files flash, if not all, it surely could be toast also.
