[Q] Droid Charge update fail!

I've tried everything except rooting my Droid Charge to get it to accept the latest system update yet it will not get past a quarter of the way without stopping and displaying that triangle and exclamation point! Is there any way without rooting it that this problem can be corrected?! Maybe if i throw it against a wall...., please im at my wits end with it. Can someone help me?

Well don't root it because it'll never update then. Have you wiped data? If that won't work go to How to fix your phone get the download package for EP4 and follow the instructions exactly. Then take the 2 updates.

Thanks for your response! Okay, So download the EP4 and the PIT file for Charge? Im sorry, Im a newbie and I wanna be precise.

[Q] Phone hard bricked after unlocking bootloader

So it seems I've really put myself into a bad spot, here.
I recently rooted my phone (Verizon S3) using towelroot, which seemed to work exceedingly well, so I decided to try to make a NANDroid backup using ClockworkMod. I installed ROM Manager, set that up, and chose the "restart in Clockwork recovery mode option", which didn't work. I soon realized I forgot to unlock my bootloader so, at the recommendation of a few sites, used EZ-Unlock to try to do that. The app reported that it was successful, so I tried restarting my phone in Clockwork recovery mode again. To my utter horror, my phone did not turn on, and has not turned on since.
When I say that it doesn't turn on, I mean that it gives me no audio, vibrational, or visual feedback, almost like there's no battery in the phone. I've pulled the battery and also attempted to do the fix outlined in a video, but to no avail. (I would post the link if the forum allowed me to. The title of the video is "Unbrick hard bricked Verizon Galaxy S3 running 4.3 Jelly Bean")
Feel free to scold me all you like for my irresponsibility and stupidity, it's probably deserved. Any help will be hugely appreciated, though! Thank you so much!
Edit: I guess I should mention that this is my first time doing this sort of thing to an Android device. However, I do like to think I "know my way around", as they say. (although I guess not enough to avoid messing things up!)

No problems. This is the forum for the International version and we don't have locked bootloaders so you will have more chance in there than you will here.

can you get the phone to go in to download mode? that power+home+vol down

Was your phone on android 4.3 before you tried to unlock bootloader? If so, that isn't good.

Do what the guy above suggested. Oh just so you know when you are on 4.3 you can not unlock your bootloader. Only root. Also once on 4.3 you can not downgrade to any earlier firmware versions. You can thank Verizon for that.

If you're referring to "[GUIDE] Debrick your bricked SCH-I535! [BOOTLOADER/HARDBRICK]", I have tried that a few times. I guess I could give it a few more shots if that's my only option.

That's awful. I guess I was looking at a guide for a non-Verzion phone. Thank you for the information, though.

So, if I understand my situation, I guess the question now is: How can I lock my bootloader back up while it's hardbricked, correct?

No. Your only focus is on getting the phone to boot back up. The only method that we have to do so is the bootloader/hardbrick thread by SpryroDazee posted at the top of our Q/A section.

This might help. Try mobile tech videos. they can Jtag and downgrade for you.

lg stylo root problem

im new here so... im not sure if this is the right place to post. i have a lg stylo i have been trying to root for 3 days now and nothing. super user shows up and asks for a binary update but will not do it. root checker shows no root same with flashify. i have done factory resets and the one with the vol down key and power button. no luck super user shows up no matter what but no root no matter what method i try, the one listed here (one click?) and another like it where you add stuff manualy. i havent had any luck can someone help please. as a side note i dont know if its related to rooting my phone or a secondary issue but my rear facing camera refuse to work now. just shows black for a second then back to home screen. im on 5.1.1. thank you for reading

Please post which variant of the phone you have, the software number (not just the Android version) you're on, and links to the tools used.

thank you! my software version is ms63110i according to my phone, i have tried this like 20 times: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/lg-g-stylo-t-mobile-lg-h631tn-t3123165 and this also about 10 times : http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-how-to-root-lgls770-5-1-1-t3184649

I would use the kdz to get a fresh start and try again. There are pictures in the first guide you linked to - did yours look like that or were there specific errors?

thank you! kdz worked. i now have root! but the rear camera still wont work. is that an issue from my previous root attempts? or something else? again thank you very much

Most likely something else. The kdz writes all of the software and firmware back to the device just like it was brand new. This should resolve any software issues when completed successfully, which it obviously was...

that stinks, i really need the camera for work. already had the phone for a week. doubt if metropcs would take it back. maybe i can find a shop locally to take a look at it. again thank you

If a different camera app doesn't work then follow this guide by DrakenFX and return the phone to metro for a new one.

I assume you haven't delete anything since you restore using kdz. If not and this app doesn't work that mean you phone is defected. Flaah my stock restore and return/exchange

thank you for the replies. i actually did that about 8 this a.m. took it back to metropcs and they filled out a warranty claim for me. i should have a new one this week. i wouldnt have known what to without your help! thanks again

Erased OS!! And Cant access Download Mode because Kill Switch

Ok I think I really may have messed up big time with this guys so I'm begging for some help.
]So I just recently bought a AT&T LG G3 on ebay in excellent condition everything worked great until I started experimenting. I rooted it using KingRoot but later decided I'd rather use another method of root because I prefer SuperSu to manage my root access...Anyways to make a long story very short. I needed to get into download mode but Kill Switch had already locked me out because I rooted it..I did not know that McAfee would lock my phone when I rooted.. and so as a last ditch effort I attempted to wipe the entire drive and re-flash the OS well to my surprise that did completely erase the OS as expected but not the Kill Switch. So now im stuck at LG Welcome screen and cant do anything.. I'm at the mercy of the web help PLEASE!!! smh

You can't get passed that. There's no way around it. Only way if it's even possible is to pay a phone store that has a box that might can fix it. But other wise chances are slim

Dang please dont tell me that I honestly just bought this phone a week ago..heh..Ive rooted and flashed multiple phones in my time but have never seen a "kill switch".

Don't think that will work with the kill switch issue. That is if you loose download mode. But worth a shot.

This method worked after many hours of trying and trying thank you for this ...unfortunately the phone which was unlock is now locked again and says that it is permanently locked to AT&T.. any Ideas?

What do you mean says its permanently locked to AT&T? Screen shot? Is it asking for a sim unlock code?

Yea the SIM unlock is permanently locked and I havent even had the opportunity to put a unlock code in. After finally getting the Download mode working and getting the OS back on it Dial 2945#*850# to insert unlock code and it says "this phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked" I haven't even made a wrong attempt at it yet its just already locked.

This link worked pretty flawlessly just took a few tries shorting the pins out and plugging in the computer simultaneously but once the phone shows as its plugged into a com port and you have your tot file and dll ready for flash read directions very very carefully and this works great thank you so much!

Yes sunshine method is the only way. I was on 6.0 as well, used sunshine got s off bootloader unlocked. Now on 7.1 sunshine is 25 dollars though

Ok, that is good news. I downloaded it last night and tried to see if it would work. It froze up my phone like wouldn't even allow me to shut it down. Is that pretty normal? I actually ended up falling asleep so I didn't get to see what happened.

If I remember correctly after you pay it should work and I can't remember if it shuts off once out if you need to reboot but when it reboots sunshine should automatically open again and tell you it succeeded

You opened up sunshine since then? If it went through it should tell you something like your stuff is done and you don't need the app anymore.

I got it, I ran it again . This time it didn't do the same thing. It actually went through all the checks and passed. I'm s-off now. I appreciate it. I miss the days when I could root and s-off without the use of a program. Thank you for the help. Now to find a Rom
