I am running CleanRom 1.3 with stock kernel and radios. My m8 has root access, and s-off (go Sunshine!).
I switched the runtime to ART and loved it, right up until I discovered that I cannot play music. Video works fine. When I try to play music on YouTube, Player Pro or Rocket Player, it immediately pauses the music. I press play and then it immediately pauses the music after about a tenth of a second. It will not unpause and play music normally. It simply always pauses the music.
I switched back to dalvik and everything works. Any idea what causes this is in ART? I don't think it is an app issue, since they can all start the music, just not play it normally. Is BoomSound ART compatible?
Nevermind, I switched back and forth from dalvik to ART and that seems to have solved the problem.

Is there a player out there that will pause only for phone calls? When I had a hero, the player worked great...would only pause for phone calls or if I was using navigator and a new turn was coming up. Since getting an Evo, the player pauses for everything, often times, I can't even tell what caused the pause in the music, just something that hit the processor I suppose.
I dont have a suggestion, but totally agree with you. I wish all music apps would allow us to have settings for Notifications, Phone Calls, Navigations, etc. It is sadly overlooked on all the media players that I have tried so far.
If you went to download a music player and then saw it say "controls phone, data, mms, internet,sd card, and had root. Most people would be worried fo ssecurity to download such an app. Its not attractive when an app practicaly needs ur entire phone open to use.
Voodoo sound has a Mod to disable all those notifications if I'm not mistaken.
Does anyone had any problem with their motorola xoom music player? Mine had been acting up recently, regardless if I am using stock apps or downloaded apps, or youtube, the music player will automatically pops up and played the tracks like I opened it. Even when I force close it, it will later pop back up again.
Anyone had similar problems?
I personally haven't.
I'm currently running Eaglesblood 2.8 and I have the cm7 lockscreen music controls enabled as well as the volume button music control. These settings used to work fine for both the stock music player and Slacker radio.
I recently downloaded PlayerPro and now whenever I'm using Slacker the volume keys are unable to change tracks and the music controls force start PlayerPro even when it is closed and Slacker is playing music.
When I uninstalled PlayerPro everything worked fine again. Anyone know how to stop PlayerPro from taking control of these settings?
Yes, leave it uninstalled for good.
But seriously, unless there's an option for it to not start (Open up PlayerPro>Menu button>Settings if there are any>look for something like Lockscreen control), you won't be able to.
I use Google Play Music as a music source. Historically, I would stream music in my car, connected via BT, and when I turned my car off, the music would stop. The next time I started the car, Google Play Music would resume. Since the update to Oreo, when I start the car up, the phone will often times start playing from the built-in music app instead (whatever music file it can find on the phone, sometimes the stock music tracks that came with the phone). I seem to have less than a 50% chance of it resorting to the music player, rather than properly resuming Google Play Music. I've tried setting Google Play Music as the default music app, I've turned off all the power management for GPM, but nothing helps. I've even been sitting at a stop light, play a video in facebook (which causes GPM to pause while audio from the video is being played), and then when the video stops, the music player will start playing a track from the phone, rather than GPM resuming. I never had this issue on Nougat, it started with Oreo. I was in the Oreo beta and reported it, but that beta was a farce.
Has anyone else experienced this? Have you fixed it? It's driving me crazy! (no pun intended)
As the title says, I have used android auto on my pioneer head unit for nearly 3 years BUT when I recently transferred from Google play music to YouTube music app (because Google did a "kill its own thing" yet again). I had no issues with anything on android auto until installed YouTube music, now my android auto stutters and skips and randomly pauses and it never keeps shuffle on. And now my maps have started freezing for a few seconds and skipping around while playing music. I've cleared caches, uninstalled, reinstalled, all my music is downloaded so it's not a network problem. I'm genuinely missing Google play music because it didn't mess crap up...
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated
I have the same problem and haven't been able to find a solution. Any one else have this issue?
