Original Lock Screen and Wallpaper? - Xperia Z1 Compact Themes and Apps

Hey there, I have no idea if this is really possible, but I figured this would be the place to ask.
I recently got the Z1C, and I really liked both the lock screen and the default live wallpaper (The ribbon-twisty thing). Anyways, as is my preference, I rooted and flashed Cyanogenmod, not thinking ahead and backing up either of these stock features, thus losing them. Is there any way someone could grab them from their phone and send them over? Or do you already know of a place they are available?

Then you should know that you lose stock features when you do, so unless the lockscreen has been ported (see this and the cross development section) you'll have to do without. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.experienceflow2

Yes, I'm aware of that - I just wasn't thinking about it at the time. What I was wondering is if there is any way to pull an intact version of either or both features from a stock phone, and reinstall them. Thank you for the link to the wallpaper I tried looking through the play store, but I was looking for z1, and there were none quite the same, just bad imitations.
So, now I'm just looking for the lock screen - is there any way to get ahold of that?

Not unless it's been ported so you'll have to have to search to see if it has been.

Here's the Live Wallpaper Ribbon thing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/axrkp65cnu30w7w/ExperienceFlow2LiveWallpaper.apk I don't know it you can install it on other ROM.
As for lock screen, I don't think it's possible to have it on Cyanogenmod. Why move to Cyanogenmod anyway when stock is good? ?

Is there a how to on changing your Sense lock to AOSP?

Title pretty much says it all. I've been hopping from mod to mod, theme to theme, framework to framework to get exactly what I want in my phone aesthetically. I'm using this frame right now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12131447&postcount=37210
The guy who ported was kind enough to point me to this AOSP lock that worked, but didn't quite match what I wanted to accomplish. I'm really looking for this lock, and if not then just a straight up AOSP lock.
As I said, I've tried just about every combo possible but everything takes something away that I want to keep. I tried the how to theme thread, and it was a great resource but only offered advice on how to change the png on HTC's lock; something I'm not particularly interested in.
Is there a howto on how to get this accomplished myself? I've looked everywhere, but I can't find anything. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
You can just use root explorer to rename your HTC lockscreen to something else to get the vanilla lock

Do you know which files get accessed when it reverts back to the lockscreen then? I did what you said, and it basically gave me the same version that I linked to before. Even if I can extract the files and alter them myself, I feel like I'll be accomplishing something. I just don't know where it draws from.

Exactly what I needed man, thanks. I pretty much ninjamorphed whatever he had with CM's and it looks great. the only thing I'm missing is the "unlock" text over the bar. I know that's nitpicky, but do I just reopen the sliding tab and print it on there myself?
thanks again guys. everyone should learn this.

He wasn't trying to be a ****. It's a very flexible and effective way to change your lock to just about anything including a ton of custom locks. Well worth $1.99 to people who want a high degree of customization and control over their lockscreen.
Why not purchase widgetlock? You can switch between aosp lc and lense lc. Just my opinion

First off, I love your work on this. The whole theme is great, and the only reason I keep trying to Frankenstein this one in particular is because I love the black on-screen notifications over that HTC grey. Unfortunately when I replaced frameworks I bootlooped :-/
@the other two previous to this post: I don't want to do that because its unnecessary. I don't need to spend money on a bandaid when I (with the help of others here) can go into the filesystem and do it myself.

[Q] Tutorial for adding in lockscreens

Yes, I know there are apps and widgets that can do this, however, Seeing as I've never coded them in before, is there a guide that shows me what to look for anywhere? I've searched to hell and back, and nothing.
These will be going into Bionix2 so would like to learn how to do these.

Could have sworn untermensch wrote up a guide for lockscreens to go with his power menu guide, but can't find it. All I can suggest is to download one of his lockscreen mods, then download the stock rom it was based on, decompile both and make comparisons.

+1 for widgetlocker.
I picked it up a couple days ago and like it quite a bit. It isn't free but I feel it is one of a few apps worth paying for. My goal was to put a battery indicator on the lock screen so I didn't have to unlock the phone to check the battery. You can do that and so much more. It does not add a lock screen so you have to unlock the phone twice like some of the free ones did either. It just works.
It sounds like you may want to code your own app? I would try to contact the devs of some of the better lock screens out there and see if you can get some help.
I have a couple of old bookmarks back when s0niqu3 and untermensch were trying to get the Fascinate lockscreen on the Vibrant. Can't post links but maybe one of these will point you in the right direction

Screenshots of Custom roms?

Hey all, I am very greatful for all the awesome custom roms being souped up for the sensation, but can I suggest (dont flame me here) that the chefs put up at least a few screenshots of the rom they are posting?...sometimes pics are alot easier than words, especially if someone doesn't understand all the lingo....Just an idea...'Bon Appetite'...Dirty
Before this gets locked or moved, I guess the main reason no screen shots are posted is because the roms aren't really themed as yet, so they look stock standard. The roms are really about trying to optimize certain settings rather than going for any eye-candy.
I've been trying to take some screenshots on my phone but they always come out corrupted regardless of the app I use. Any suggestions?

Conversion i9505 to i9505G - Discussion/Rant

I'm not smart enough to do it myself.. however, I am still amazed that no one has been able to work out how to convert an i9505 into a i9505G. I know the partition layout is different, and I also know that there are ported 4.3 GE roms available.. BUT all of that aside.. has Samsung won the war here?
Which leads me to a separate subject.. but.. their knox efuse.. while it hasn't been long.. it looks like they have won there as well.
In any case.. I'm more interested in the conversion to i9505G. Does anyone know more than I do about the status or possibility of ever being able to convert a i9505 to a i9505G?
Well.. This is not as easy as you may think.
Need someone who has both I9505 and I9505G. Also need special connection to I9505 like JTAG to get direct access to flash. Then using JTAG try to dump whole flash from I9505G and upload it to I9505. And then depend on success and whole result, procedure can be simplified.
But JTAG is required at experiment stage if you are not so rich who can afford to buy tens (if not hundred) I9505 while experimenting
A full conversion (think about bootloader, radio) is not possible.
Samsung secured the bootloader very agressively .

I couldn't care less about running ROMs. I unlocked the bootloader but otherwise I leave my devices stock and unrooted. I know how to root and install ROMs but once I knew how, my curiosity was satisfied.
Honestly, I have had Nexus devices my entire Android life. I decided to branch out and try a GS4 with Touchwiz. I really liked my I337, so much in fact, that I also ended up purchasing a Galaxy Note 8.0 as well. There are definitely things in Touchwiz that I'd love to see Google add to the stock user experience. I'm referring to things like air view and having separate wallpapers for the home and lock screens. Alas, though, when you've used stock Android as much as I have, it's hard to use anything else.
The only thing I truly miss about Touchwiz is the camera app. The camera was simply amazing. The other things that are important to me, namely the IR blaster and the S-View cover functionality, both work flawlessly on the I9505G.

What i dislike most in stock Android is halo theme. It's really ugly. Micro check-boxes. Ugly seek-bars. Alert dialogs are too flat and sketchy. Halo theme looks more like concept than theme for daily usage.
TouchWiz theme was odd originally in time of SGS2, but it was getting better and better. On SGS4 it's nearly perfect. May be some elements like ViewPager and title bar need to reworks somehow. But overall it's way better theme than Halo. Also, there are many useful addons in TW ROM like quick settings panel, nice looking lock screen with quick launch shortcuts on the bottom, and other small tweaks making TW ROM much more useful than naked Android. And it's easier to remove unneeded apps/services/tweaks from TW ROM than add them into naked Android.
I would think about I9505G over I9505 only as device with bigger user storage running custom TW ROM, but it looks like not much success here.
From other side, you can buy 32GB version of I9505 and don't think about 16GB-only I9505G.
But hey, there are SHV-E330 and GT-I9506 already

You mean Holo I believe. That's why I use stock Android. TW with its different colors, big buttons that are not even separated from others and mixed styles in applications is really crazy and a pain to use. For people that like to use a phone without distractions it's a plain and simple fail.
Nice to have options as we're all not the same, you keep your TW phone, I will keep my stock Android one.

Yeah.. It looks like your are really serious talking about replace TW features by 3rd party apps
Which app can replace lockscreen? None. It's impossible by android design. Only can mask some app as lockscreen which is completely different.
Having quick settings panel in on-going notification area? Phh..
If you think, it's not serious, then hold on and think first. May be other person, who is talking about this, knows something you don't know.
I'm not even talking about how serious people who are buying non-Nexus device and then whining about CM/AOSP in half of topics.

You're considering rooting a device to freeze/remove system applications. I was talking about simply adding applications to a stock Android from Google Play. I fail to see the former being easier.
And here the "impossible":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle&hl=en
In any case what you might consider essential I might consider a waste of resources.
That was the point of my post. That's why Android is a success.
And if you don't like to read people talking about changing non-Google devices you might be better off XDA.
XDA Developers was founded for developers by developers. It is now a valuable resource for people who want to make the most of their mobile devices, from customizing the look and feel to adding new functionality.

If you are able to create custom ROM then removing unneeded apps (and even editing framework to cleanup from some useless features) is much easier than add absent functionality.
I suppose, we are on XDA, i.e. developer's forum right? If you are talking from regular user point of view who usually don't know what is "root", then it's out of scope of this board. Just buy Nexus device and then you are set.

I've told you already: there is no way to truly replace lockscreen by any other application. Lockscreen is a part of framework, not APK. I'm using android devices not the first year, and believe me, i've tried these apps long long time ago. These apps mimic lockscreen using some security holes in OS, but they are not replacing lockscreen. Actually, device remains unlocked all the time. Also there are many bugs and glitches because such apps trying to suppress original lockscreen with different kinds of success/fail.
As for modifying device: there are many ways to modify and it's not exactly by installing CM/AOSP. You can check my topics to see that i'm not just user.
XDA has been created long time before CM/AOSP and believe me there are many other good ways to modify the device. CM/AOSP have their own dedicated forums and repositories which should suit your needs better than XDA (if you want to compete in pointing directions to others).
P.S.: look into I9505G forum to see how users begging to add samsung's standard camera app which doesn't work on non-TW ROM.
Suggest them to install some app from Google play
The same can tell about video player and amount of video and audio codecs integrated into TW ROM. On TW ROM i can use nearly any music player and able to playback almost any audio and video. On GE ROM you have to find special audio player having support of some specific format, and then try to get used to its bugs without choice to switch to another player. With video player it's even worse...
Also, CM/AOSP usually don't have tight integration when it comes to Hardware 3D acceleration. Some selected devices (usually Nexus and GE devices) have good 3D support, but only some.
The truth is: Some people wanna to install CM/AOSP and then they realize they miss many useful (usually not noticeable when it presents) features. That's why custom TW ROMs are present and have a lot or users.

I never denied that TW based ROMs have value for some people, just that as well stock Android is much more attractive for others. If not we wouldn't be discussing this and you wouldn't see the kind of activity we see in this forum.
And I still disagree on the "easier" issue but I fail to see any benefit in continuing the discussion.

Why would you need to ? You have CM/TW/GE to choose from when using the i9505 partition layout. Took us a couple of hours to get KitKat after the GE got it (broodplank delivered AOSP 4.4 even earlier).

[Q] Purely for customization

Hello everyone,( oh and please move this if there is a more appropriate location for my questions) I have recently gotten into romming due to the just... eww of the stock tmobile t679's well... everything...
what am I running now? I was swapping around a few different roms and have settled down on two I like pretty well which are pacman for jellybean 4.2 and baked blackbean 4.2. At this exact moment I'm on the baked. I have a couple questions about some customizations I'd like to do (basically have done for me so I can just apply them as I am not really talented in the ways of photo manipulation) and one question about hardware buttons.
Starting with the hardware buttons, the one thing I miss from the stock rom is the "touch light duration" feature, as being on a samsung with hardware touch buttons I have come to enjoy leaving the lights on as long as my screen is active. Is there still a way to do this? on ANY rom, or could there be some work around? I really don't like the soft button idea as they take up too much of my screen. (yes I have tried it) Please and thank you for any advice on that front.
Now on to the fun and colorful part. I very much enjoy the cm10 bootanimation and I've seen a couple images of it in other colors. What I would like, if someone was so awesome as to put it together for me a custom color changing version with my name in the middle. I can pull up the image with the colors I like if anyone decides to tackle this. (I know how to apply the new bootanimation, just need it made)
The other thing I would like to change is my boot splash, not that I don't love what the custom rommers out there have made for all of us to enjoy, but the team insomnia logo just isn't my cup of tea. I would love something a bit more... purple and girly. Again I have an image in mind if anyone wants to make it into an easily flashable or otherwise installable format. I have no idea how to do this one.
Please and thank you for anyone who can help me out =)

yeah I think I was on higher than 10.1 and that was the problem, anyway yes please if you feel like making me a boot animation =)
PM me for details as I cannot post links just yet
I just went back and tried 10.1 again and still don't see a way to change button light duration. Oh well, I have the stuff I want for my bootanimation on my fb already as well as what I'd like for a bootsplash image, so send me a message and I'll link you up. =)
