Eject USB otg? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Plugged in a USB stick today in Stock CM11. Couldn't find a way to eject the USB afterwards. Does anyone know of the option? Usually it would be located under storage.

It should be in the storage settings, where it says "Unmount USB storage" or something along those lines.

Yes

Yeah that worked I thought unmounting the internal storage would unmount the internal and not the USB

USB mass storage issue after flashing GB ROM?

Is anyone having usb mass storage issues? before i flashed this ROM i could access all of my files, now only a few folders show up and like .android_secure android.
do i need new drivers?
EDIT: when I plug the phone in its only mounting the /sdcard folder
before I flashed the ROM my phone connected as 2 external drives, one was just /sdcard, the other I could access all folders and files in the phone
Nope working great for me..
I noticed that it says only the sdcard is mounted in the mass storage screen. Was this the same for froyo? because I could access everything (split in 2 drives) from my computer before
I like the fact that I can access external and device memory through my computer. When u update to gb you can kiss that goodbye. Gb is great but its small things like that that will keep me with froyo

I had the same problem. All I needed to do is just pull out the microSD card while the phone is still running, and put it back in. I havent had an issue with this after that.
I deleted my LG drivers while using CM7 and now it works great. Pulls up both SD cards.

I am having the same issue. I am going to try the suggestion of removing and re inserting the sd card while the phone is on.... hopefully it works, or I will have to go back to froyo...
update: tried it, and while it does remount the sd card so your phone will read it, it's more simple to juist go in to setting and remount it from there. This still doesn't fix being able to read the sd card through mass storage mode.
I don't have that problem, I don't know how many LG drivers I installed until I find out that's my USB port's fault, just plug it in another USB port...

Yes I did, when plugged in, I tap the mount usb storage icon on the phone and both internal and external memory shows up

so I swapped out the g2x - rooted the new one, installed the gb leaked update and again I am having the same issues with it unmounting the sd card when i plug it to the comp and enable mass storage mode. So now it's the same issue with two different phones. Those who are having the issue , what type of memory card are you using because that if the only constant I have. I am using a patriot 32gb class 10.

Is there a way to mount the device itself as mass storage(not sd card?)

When I try to mount the device as mass storage, it only shows up when I have an sd card inside, and without I get a message telling me to insert disk. Is there a way to mount the device itself as mass storage?
Wifi explorer pro or air droid as alternative. With total commander can make a Lan connection with windows xp/7

Settings/storage/click on 3 buttons/click on usb computer connection/choose mass storage.

He means the internal memory. Can only mount the external sdcard in mass storage mode.

Correctly but the 4gb on internal sdcard i copied with total commander and Lan Plugin with Wifi. It's slower as copied in mass storage mode, but it works. On droid4 twice sdcards works in mass storage mode, photon q sh*t, after factory reset the internal memory cleared.

[Q] CIFS

Has anyone gotten CIFS and/or CIFS Manager working yet?
Without a physical SD card, I was thinking about using such to, at least, provide a backup storage location.
Haven't tried it, but I have confirmed that USB OTG does work. Phone immediately recognizes the external storage. Could use that to enable occasional backups.

I have to try that (USB OTG)!! I was wondering why there are those two USB options at the bottom of the Settings... Storage menu.

SD Card Format

ROM: CM 11-20140204-NIGHTLY-skyrocket
I've done some searches and was not able to find anyone with the same issue as me. So, erased my SD card through the ROM (Settings > Storage > Erase SD card
I rebooted the phone, and it told me there was a blank SD card in there and I needed to format it. Well, every time I try to format it, my phone reboots. I tried doing it through recovery, and it told me error mounting SD card.
Any ideas on how to fix this or is my SD card shot? It was working perfectly fine before I erased it. I would plug it into a computer, but i don't have an adapter.
Thanks in advance!
Format it in your computer. Use FAT32 file system and do a quick format.

its not really an adapter, its the usb cable that came with the phone or any samsung cable, blackberry cable and many others might even work
Vin his problem isn't the cable bro it formatted incorrectly the phone doesn't recognize it and can't mount it via recovery to format it. He just needs to toss it on a computer and do it from there.

yea....tried it via USB and couldn't get it to work. Guess I need to find an adapter so I can get it connected directly to my computer. Thanks for the help everyone.

so even w/a pc you couldnt format it, what was the error when doing that.
adapters are really cheap anyways

No error... Just the internal card showed up. I tried mounting it and then plugging in the phone, same thing. Really strange. Yea, adapter isn't a huge deal, just caught me off card that it reboots my phone when I try to format it through the ROM.

it's all written in the title thread. how to unmount *USB* otg on cm12? if i disconnect forcedly, it says "unmount *SD card* before disconnecting" warning message on the notifications, and if i try to re-mount usb otg it doesn't read anything (no pendrive or usb things).

Try using USB OTG Helper from the Play Store.

Under settings, storage, and Scroll down to the USB section. You will see unmount USB. Looking for better ways to do this, but have so far not had any luck.

Quite an old thread, but for your solution there, I don't have any USB section on it. It is just Internal Storage and SD Card. (CM12.1 on Zenfone 5)
Is there any other method that I can use? Thanks in advance.

not entirely sure, my phone shows a USB section, but only when a USB device is inserted. not sure why your device does not show the USB section. even more confusing when you are on CM12.1, same as my phone has.
sorry, can't help you on this one.
maybe look at the app in the comment above mine?
USB OTG Helper. if the description is accurate it could help.
Oh.. this app is actually to the point. Thanks
