Does it work on all HBOOT versions?

I'm on hboot 2.15.0000 and it worked. But you have to be s-off and have the latest twrp recovery

Also if anyone wishes to remove the red text from splash boot pic here is the link for that too.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777223
Follow instructions and also when entering the custom hboot use entire path to where its located on your computer

Tried it on hboot 2.16. Doesn't work for removing the red text. Changing the splash screen does work.

you flashed a firmware that was ICS compatible and you still had a GB rom on your device therefor putting you into bootloops. You need to flash firmware 1.17 from Here and be more carefull and follow the guide

There are other links on there for other providers. Who is your service provider?
THANK YOU!
You said you ran the RUU from recovery...do you mean you ran it through bootloader? First that PGIMG you need to remove that from your SD card after you install and before you reboot your device or it will loop forever.
i have it working.. thank you all please delete this thread moderators

Cannot go into recovery

Hi,
I have a Desire S, which cannot go into recovery. Whenever I try to access recovery from hboot, it vibrates, the screen is black for half a second, then the white screen with green HTC logo, then it stuck there, forever.
I tried to flash revolutionary's recovery, but it's same. Any help?
Thanks!
Hmm... I think you don't have a proper recovery. Can you boot normally?? If yes, just boot normally, install 4EXT updater and flash 4EXT recovery from it. The free version of the app is here - http://www.4ext.net/get.php?apk

Does you device boot normally? I don't believe that you have rooted your device yet?
Following the ENG Hboot flash, does your device now say:
Code:
SAGA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-0.98.2000
?
FYI you can change the your thread #1 title by editing post #1 and using the Advanced EDIT function. button says "Go Advanced" Its also good practice to put [SOLVED] at the start of your previous threads title, so that people know that that problem is fixed.
Thank ben_pyett, shrome99, I update that another post.
My phone's HBOOT is now as follow:
Code:
SAGA PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.98.2000 (PG8810000)
...
I cannot boot , and cannot go into recovery
I don't know whether it's rooted or not - may be not. Any solution for me now?
Don't worry phone sends ok

hello to all!
i hope this is the right place for my problem. today i unlocked my girlfriends desire s with the htc unlock method. then i rooted it and installed superuser, 4ext and rommanger. when i now want to flash a custom rom, the phone restarts, gives me a few seconds a black screen with a green sign in the middle, after this the sign turns red and the phone freezes.
i cant find´any method here to get s-off (the hboot is 2....) all methods for s-off and hboot downgrade that i found here didn´t work..
any solution?
All i want is to flash a custom firmware...

PROBLEM SOLVED... i found the solution...
Set up fastboot using this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272595
Then, enter fastboot mode on your phone and in CMD (in the directory where you have fastboot) do this -
fastboot flash recovery PATH TO RECOVERY.img
Click to collapse
PATH TO RECOVERY is the path to the recovery eg. C:\downloads\CWM.img
i get to work this and was able to flash a cfw in clockwork-touch-mod but after flashing 2 different cfws, my phone sticks at the green htc logo... i´m so pi**** off.
i guess the problem is that i got hboot 2... and s-on, but i think i have read that when you use the the htc unlock method, you do not have to have s-off

[Q] One X (evita) not booting CM10/10.1

I have an HTC One X sitting here that I bought from somebody. It came rooted with an unlocked bootloader running CleanRom. I downloaded CM, wiped like usual and flashed the rom. I can't get it to boot now, it endlessly shows the CM boot logo (but doesn't appear to be restarting) and I was wondering if there was anything special I had to do to get CM working.

If you are on hboot 1.14, and have flashed CM10, and not the boot.img, than yes, this almost certainly your problem.
It doesn't matter whether you flash boot.img over fastboot before or after the ROM.
Whats the diffence between the boot.img found in the 10.1 zipfile for htc one x and the one linked in download :
Boot.img (secure=0): http://d-h.st/vzF

If you bootloader says Evita, stay here. If not, run away... far, far away and never come back.
If it is evita go to a cm10/10.1 thread, grab the correct version and pull the boot.img from it. NEVER google for anything, now that you have found this forum. That's one of the quickest ways to break your phone.

Thanks. I'm downloading it now from a reeeeaaaally slow connection so it'll take time to see if this works.
Also I've unlocked my bootloader but it also says "TAMPERED." Should I be worried about that?

Tampered is an indication that you unlocked the phone. You can remove it by RUUing after S-OFF if it bothers you.
I followed Myrder's advice and loaded CM 10 for evita and it got me back into my phone but the touchscreen isn't working now

If you have hboot 2.14 you need to downgrade your touchscreen firmware to get touchscreen working in AOSP ROMS
Sounds to me like you really need to do some reading. And really, reading should be done before attempting any of the things you're doing to your phone. You're lucky you haven't bricked it.
Sent from my Evita using XDA Premium
I'm kind of in a chicken before the egg situation. I found the files and commands needed to downgrade my touchscreen, however I think this requires the phone to have usb debugging on, which I can't select because the touchscreen doesn't work.
If that's not necessary because it's all in fastboot anyway, then I have to figure out why I'm getting a "remote 99 unknown fail" and a "status read fail too many links" error message when I try to run the commands for S-OFF and touchscreen downgrade in bootloader.

Make sure your ROM zip is not corrupt, or even better, try flashing a stock-ish ROM like Android Revolution HD and then its boot.img.

Since you are s-off, follow this guide to update your firmware to 3.32 or 3.33: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154
Follow all instructions and then flash ICS/jellybean ROM. All bootloops should be gone and ROM should boot up perfectly. Also, make sure you make a nandroid backup in case something goes wrong!
