How cos i cant get flash tool to see the phone? I'm on jb (3.4 kernel) however and can't get the phone to root....

You don't need the whole ROM, just replace the file mtk_stp_wmt.ko at /system/lib/modules, reboot & it'll work after that...

Use my tut to gain root & backup your Factory ROM then upload to d-h.st... :laugh:

Doesn't work with 3.4 kernel, have to cook recovery and root through recovery...

Turbojo when I go to flash the recovery and use the scatter file in the rom.zip you provided it says it has a bad preloader file when I try to use SP Flash tool. I am using ver 3.1224.01. Am I doing something wrong?

Turbojo's upload is e1911_v77_gq2000_a41_6628_v20_20121226 & its corrupted so everyone stop downloading & save your bandwidth...
i know its frustrating to download something so huge in size & then you found out that it doesn't work & he doesn't wanna take it down...

For N9776, there are two main hardware revision & many OS revision...
1) e1911_v77_gq2000_ov5647 -> Uses MT6620 chipset
2) e1911_v77_gq2000_9p017_6628 -> Uses MT6628 chipset & they change the name to e1911_v77_gq2000_a41_6628_v20 ( Updated to 4.1.1 )
For e1911_v77_gq2000_ov5647, below are the sub OS revision
1) Last version 20121023_e1911_v77_gq2000_ov5647 -> Don't be fool by its Android Version = 4.1.1, it is still using API Level 15...

it turns out that there are emergence of cheaper version of N9776 & i thought to myself how the price dropped so fast & it turns out that it is indeed the cheaper version MT6575...
MT6575 is Pin-to-pin compatible with MT6577 so some clever manufacturer instead of upgrading, they are downgrading N9776... :laugh:
So pls make sure & don't just flash blindly, all these here are for MT6577...

I got this start N9776 yesterday, bought at dx.com.
The phone is great for just 170$, but there is a problem I can't solve: can't enable wifi & BT. I read some posts here and I found the solution: root the device and delete 1 file in /System.
But I can't root. Any rooting process has 2 steps. I can't apply the 2nd because it doesn't restart itself, I have to remove battery always.
Factory ROM is N9776-e1911_v77_gq2000_a41_6628_v20_20130128 kernel 3.4.0.
I have tried MTK Root, Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v17, Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18. No luck.
Please any help?? I bought 3 of them and all have the same problem.

Root, refer to above, increase ROM, you mean data partition, SPFT sn85
AFAIK, for MT6577 max is 8Mpx, only latest MT6589 supports true 12Mpx...:laugh:

Thanks for your help .. I looked on google, but all other options other writes of the device, which is 1.0 processor version is 1.2.
I really do not understand the camera, I'm happy to say I do not have a 5MP 12MP device but just do not understand how you got into it if it was all up to 8MP write.
I guess the factory ran out of little more than a camera and was thrown into it?

Hi, I managed (after long troubleshooting) to root the phone and replace mtk_stp_wmt.ko with the one provided by you and, after rebooting, I keep without wifi and BT.
Any other option? Thanks.

[Q] 7inch 1din China radio custom rom?

Hello everybody!
First, this is my second post on this forum and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask my question...
I recently bought a new car-radio from Ebay. This radio can do allmost everything. It can play movies, has bluetooth, has aux/video in and much more. The thing that I liked the most was the fact it also has 4.0.4 android on it! I can hear you thinking: crap! But actually it isn't! I am well aware that buying stuff from ebay with no brand are from poor quality, But after a week in my car I am pretty happy with it.
I hope this can be my first project with android but I need you help! The radio has USB support and I can connect a USB-hub with the WIFI dongle which came with the radio. It also supports a keyboard en such. I also want to add a bluetooth dongle and I have a couple of them to try. They all dont work and I dont even see the option in the settings screen. This makes me believe the drivers aren't included in this rom. The bluetooth thats on the radio only works with the WINce software which runs allong side the Android software. This WINce runs the radio function, the dvdplayer function and so on.

Sorry. but this firmware not include bluetooth support. kernel - yes (include), but rom was compiled without bluetooth interface.
Also, chinese developers include some features in rom (special touch driver, and PIP support) and not give sources.
Best way - try SD version (custom) firmware (which booted from SD card). You may found it on this forum (user serg090909)

I have had a double din ouku rooted car head unit for over a year now. I just bought a single din 7 inch android car dvd for my truck because it will not accept a double din. I am very familiar with the double din and was posting for that 250 page thread in the beginning. What is very interesting is that the single din unit I bought came to me already rooted. I only discovered this when I installed titanium backup and it asked if I wanted root priveleges and it accepted them. Also, Backup Pro did the same thing. I installed Superuser to see what it did and it said the unit was rooted. I have not played with the unit much since it has only been installed for a week, and I am not a developer. Just wondering if anyone else has ran accross a rooted unit direct from the dealer ? UPDATE:
I've installed the Image on the SD-card and extended the Udisk partition so I have the full 32gb to my use. It works and I have no more random hangups on boot. GREAT!
My bluetooth dongle doesn't work anymore now. I had another image from serge090909 where it did work. But now with this new version it doesn't work anymore. I can flip the switch of the bluetooth, but it turns itself off immediately. Does the BT work with you guys? And which BT dongle do you use?

I have the very same unit but theresn't android installed at all.
Is it possible to install a copy of an android and how can I do it?
Or at least could give me ANY technical details or specifications to find something somewhere

[Q] Help for another Android chinese phone

Hi all.
I've bought on Ebay a new Chinese Android 4.2 smartphone, it is identified as Alps X416 (I know that Alps it's a generic identification for something unknown/generic, not a real company...).
It's a strange but powerful phone (I choose it because it's cheap and Android 4.2): it has no SD internal card, but it can use a MicroSD as internal SD, so the space for app is really high...if link2sd could work at all, but it is not.
System appear S-ON, so apps are not really moved to SD, and system memory is very low, so I'm limited in using it and system became slow.
I Had no problem to root it and to install last busybox, but it's quite impossible to use ext2/3/4 filesystems for MicroSD, the original ROM doesn't support them.
I was searching for original ROM (as a backup), but specially a modified ROM (cyano seems not still supporting it, so I don't know what to choose for my phone).

You could try and root the app and download busybox and you can have space for everything.

Faster Android Mobile
Getting suitable ROMs for china android mobiles are little bit difficult. If you flashed unsupported rom, your mobile will get bricked. Till you flash custom rom, make your device fine.
First you may root your device. For rooting china android mobiles first of all download Moboginie or pdanet on your pc, connect your device to pc it will install drivers automatically for your device. Then download and install "VRoot" latest version on pc, connect mobile, vroot will find your device. Click on root, after 5 to 10 seconds your mobile will be rooted.
Now download Minitool Partion Wizard for partition your sd you may search thread for partition sd. Create fat32 partition around 1gb. This will be your ext2 partition on sd card. Now download and install Link2sd on your mobile. Run Link2sd if 2nd partition will not detected by link2sd. Install and Open Root Explorer, go to system/etc/install-recovery.sh, if there is no such file then create it. In install-recovery.sh file type this lines.

Oppo Find X2 Pro HDR Video Record

Hi,
Is someone able to determine from the below metadata from a video shot on an Oppo Find X2 Pro in 'Live HDR' mode why it doesn't trigger any HDR mode playback on capable devices such as an LG OLED?
Is the video some kind of fake or generic HDR or is there missing entries in the metadata that tell the device it's being played back on to enable HDR mode, or something codec-related? The Find X2 Pro is advertised as being able to shoot 10-bit HDR video.

My understanding was that the HDR video applied the high dynamic range processing to each photo (like HDR photos) but was not actually filming in HDR format.
