Navigon Mobile Navigator leaves phone speaker enabled when connecting to bluetooth.

Android Froyo, HTC Desire HD with Navigon Mobile Navigator.
I can connect the phone to my car stereo through Bluetooth. Everything works fine. I can receive and make calls and music routed through to Bluetooth perfectly. When I use Mobile Navigator the turn-by-turn instructions come through the phone speaker, then a second later they also come through the bluetooth connection to the car. The beginning of the bluetooth instruction is also cut off. I can't find anywhere to explicitly disable the phone speaker when audio is routed to Bluetooth, although other apps don't seem to suffer from this. Anyone know a hack?
Same Problem here. sound is routed through bluetooth and phone speaker while bluetooth is cut off. I assume the Navigon software has a bug here. I hope they fix it soon
unfortunately I did not find any workarround or fix till now
anyone?
I had a workaround using car UI by beemer. Unfortunately after upgrading to android 2.2.1 I can't make it work anymore but am not sure where the problem lies as even downgrading again through backup-restore left the same problem. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has a magic trick for producing the right combination of settings as I know this was working before with a 2.2.0 based rom and car UI.

[Q] Android-to-Android Bluetooth Profiles

Hi everyone,
I am an owner of the GSIII I747M and the ASUS Transformer, both running ICS. I recently had this idea (fantasy?) where I mount the Transformer in my car, hook it up to the car speakers and basically use it as my in-car infotainment system instead of the headunit that's in there. Nothing wrong with my in-car headunit (except the fact that I can't get bluetooth to work with my GSIII), but the tablet will give me tons more features. When I enter the car, I want the tablet to automatically tether to my phone via wi-fi and via bluetooth. Wi-fi is for internet access and it works just fine. The bluetooth is for the hands-free profile, so that when I receive a call, the music/navigation/whatever gets interrupted and I can take the call. I also want to be able to dial from the tablet.
When I connect the two devices via bluetooth, I don't have a hands-free profile; indeed I have no useful profiles at all. My question is simple: is there an app for that? Any suggestions? Has anyone done this? Thanks!
TabletTalk will let you answer/make calls on your tablet so long as it's pair to your phone and you're on a bt headset. It also handle your phone's SMS.
AutoTether can automatically tether your tablet to your phone hotspot.
Thanks, but that's not quite what I was like for. I won't be texting and driving, even on a tablet. I'm looking to use my tablet as a BT headset. I can pipe my output to the car's speakers and the tablet has a mic, so I can use it to talk on the phone while driving. Is there an app that can do that?
That would be awesome!
Let me know if you figure it out
I'm looking to do the same thing... Maybe it's time to learn how to code for Android. I've done some interfacing with BT at the driver level before but it was back before BT even officially came out, so there was not a Handsfree Profile ;-)
I couldn't find an app or anything that does this, so I think I'm SOL until someone makes an app with this capability.

How many BT Devices have you connected?

Hi Folks...Been a while. Decided to dig the G-Tab out of the mess on my desk and build a car-tablet.
Question - how many BT devices can this thing talk to?
hoping for
- TomTom GPS reciever
- Audio Link
- OBDII CAN Transmitter
no keyboards or mice though!
Hopefully everything will be in next week, so i can start playing around
I can positively confirm that i can use my bluetooth GPS, which is an off china brand. I had to download the bluetooth gps app, which is free, and must be started before you run a NAV app. I can also positively confirm that the bluetooth chinamade OBDII scanners work as well, at least with torque, the best app EVER! I have even gotten an old usb obdII scanner to work, but it is unstable. I cannot help you with any audio stuff, I have tried forever to find an app that would use my gtab as a handsfree bluetooth receiver for my phone, but have not found one.
THis app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDEsImNvbS5mdW5reWFuZHJvaWQucGhvbmVsaW5rIl0.
THis will let you make calls and send texts from your tablet and must be installed on your phone and tablet. So, if you have a handsfree bluetooth headset for your phone, you can use your tablet to dial out then just put on the headset to talk.
There is also an app called tablet talk, which I have not yet tried because I dont wanna pay for it, but this app will send the CALLER ID info from your phone to your tablet when a call comes in.
For audio, if you can find no suitable app, then look at this. I am getting one, or something like it, Im sure it'll work.

Route Notification Audio through Bluetooth

I have a Sony Bluetooth Car Stereo BT MEX 3600U. If I get a call the stereo will change the CD or FM Radio to the ringing for my phone, I would like to do this with Notifications as I need to know when I get a text. I'd like to also be able to do the same when I am using Google Maps Navigation. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to know. I may also use it for part of my Software Development Degree.
I second this. My Honda Civic's bluetooth does the same thing. It notifies when you get calls while listening to the radio, but you have to change input to bluetooth audio to hear message notifications and GPS. I would love to hear turn-by-turn GPS while using the radio.
Though I feel like it's something on the car's side that has to change.
IDK, I would have thought that you could merely spoof the phone into thinking its recieving a call or it may even be a simple case of channeling the Audio through a different output. I can't see much detail online but hope this thread may get some answers.

Been researching. Sounds like the car stereo has to be bluetooth stereo audio and hands free compatible. But most car stereo are only hands free compatible.

Possible answer but not fix. I know it's for an iphone but it seems like it's the same problem.

In order to overcome the "handsfree mode only" you can use the BTMono: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5iZWRvaWcuQlRtb25vIl0.
hmmm thats very interesting but it seams like I just need to force the Audio not to pass through A2DP and instead Use the Phone protocol.
If someone has an APK of the BTmono App It would be very helpfull as Google has locked me out of my account on Playstore
It seams the exact same problem as my stereo will play my phone music if it it set to BT Audio Input. However, It will Always play phone call ringtone.
Edit : After a little research, My Head Unit utilises A2DP for Music, and HFP (Hands Free Profile) for Phone and ringtone.
If I can Modify the route the Notification is sent, from A2DP to HFP then it will work perfectly.
Why has this gone dead !!!!
I've gotten a new stereo about a month ago and everything comes thru my radio even when I have it on Pandora mode it dims he music and my navigation thru the phone comes thru plus my notifications and ringtones that I have set in my phone its a JVC kd-s79bt... Is there anything I can offer to help solve I'm running venom 1.20 and zrboz newest kernel... You can control the head unit thru an app called smart remote its for JVC or kenwood decks with Bluetooth maybe the apk can offer some insights???
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
That's interesting I might have to see if It is worth buying one of these for my car, Far less effort
You guys are right.. I connect my phone to my ford sync focus and my phone rings but no notifications... Making an app would hurt would it

therion0, I think it would be possible but I am not a dev so if any one could help make this a reality, this thread needs to have a few developers on board.
Microsoft Windows Phone 8 can do this
My friend has a Nokia Lumia 920 running Microsoft Windows Phone 8 and his phone does this. His car actually says "In Call" when his phone reads notifications to him (and then waits for spoken commands to act upon them).
Why can't Android?

looking for a app that will let android act as a bluetooth headset?

Im not exactly sure if i am posting this in the right forum, but where can i find a app that will let my android device become a bluetooth handset/headset? i want to use my iphone to pair to my android and use my android tablet while i'm home as a bluetooth handset. I know there is a airplay receiver app that lets your iphone airplay music to android, but can't use phone calls through that. Another scenerio, i want those android watch to be used as a bluetooth headset if it doesn't have the feature built in for handsfree calling from iphone but has it for android. The only app i know that has this is the payqi app that connects to the payqi device. Anyone know any apps please let me know.
