S-view case from ebay - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

Hello guys!
Has anyone tried this case?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/16130482774...arms=gh1g=I161304827748.N19.S2.M-37283.R3.TR3

No one?

Hi SERGIUHUSCA I have tried an OEM one and it works 100% I cant paste the link yet because of XDA policy.
And it works 100% with Samsung GS5.
Best Regards...

I bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171382082...49&var=470430675712&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
But the right-hand side doesn't fully click into place, so I'd be worried about it's water resistance.

I have the official samsung one and it sucks
I have bought nearly a month ago this Samsung EF-CG900BBEGWW S View Cover. In simple words, i am sure you can buy a better case.
This particular one doesn't close well in the front, so sometimes the screen goes on for excessive time. Furthermore, the acrylic window is very fragile and gets scratched easily.
The contact that makes the switch between the small (window) screen and full screen mode, which seems to be placed somewhere in the backpart of the case fails and once in a day i have to unattach and attach it back to get the function again.
Really, bad quality product, I frankly discourage anyone to buy it.

Yep I think all of the s-view covers are having issues with the front part not closing fully. Apparently it's due to lack of magnetism. Mine isn't scratching but I've only had it for 4 days. However, I'd expect it to scratch; and better that scratch than the phone itself, which is the main reason I have the case.

Don't buy this fake case! The case can brik your phone!
After i put the case on my phone in 30 minutes i feel a overheating on the phone! After that the phone doesn't recognize the sim card and reboot itself!Imediatly i take off the case ad everything came back to normal!

Dirt INSIDE the screen

Hi guys,
Well it seems a real disappointment, but my Orbit 2 has gathered some dirt inside (I guess below outer touch surface and inner screen). Is there some way to get rid of it, can we disassemble the fornt cover in a simple way to do this?
ps: mind you its got nothing to do with a screen protector, the dust is inside the upper surface. If I got it after 1 month of use, I'm pretty sure all other owners will have similar problems!
Or you have a deffective unit in which the front protector (hardware, not accessory) was not stuck firmly enough, and let some dust inside...
I would strongly advise to NOT open the device, go back to your reseller. Most lower-tech devices can be opened, but I would really discrouage you to open this one... Much is at stake, unless you have plenty of money, but then you would have bought another one already

Thanks for the reponse. But is this an un-heard-of problem for HTC devices? Same thing happened with my Nokia mobile, there was not much help except cleaning it, and it was a design flaw. For the case of HTC I guess it wont come under warranty!
It was definitely an inherent problem with Nokia phones, and with other manufacturers' phones, where you could "snap off" the fascia in order to replace it with an painted one. Dust easily made its way under the screen cover and I was forever trying to clean it off and then snap the case back together before any new dust managed to settle!
The Touch Cruise doesn't have such a design, and taking the front off to clean underneath the fascia would be a very risky and skilled job. I second the recommendation to not tackle this yourself but to take it back to where you bought the phone from and see what they will do about it.

fuze/touch pro scratches

hi can anyoe please post some pictures of there fuze or touch pro scratches anywhere
did you drop it all or does it easily scratch
please post pictures
thanks
Yeah, how fragile is the screen if you pocket the device?
The faceted back gets 2 wear marks on it quickly at the 2 high points on it since they are always rubbing on either the carry case or when you set it down on something. Mine is already showing wear on these two spots on the back after 10 days and I try to take good care of mine. My tilt looked mint after 11 months. Why does att not use a rubber coated back like the original touch pro does? Something tells me this phone will look like crap after a few months use. You have to clean it almost 3 times a day to keep it looking decent too.
I did see an add for a thin film that can be placed on the phone and it covers both the screen and the rest of of the device. They demonstrated by taking a key and 2 I-Pods. Then they scratched both. One was covered in their protected film and the other was not, It made a huge difference.
Something like this is what I would recommend. It is a little expensive but may save your device.

Yeah I agree it seems pretty delicate, especially the ATT version's finish. I ordered this on friday: http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-fuze-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I already had a few light scratches on the screen because ATT had forgotten my screen protector in the CD bag for some reason, luckily the whole stylus switch issue had happened with my phone and I had a valid reason other than the scratches for an exchange.
DON'T FORGET TO PUT ON YOUR SCREEN PROTECTOR IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Mine too! Can't wait to put some damage on the paint so I can happily skin it or strip it...
It's pretty and all but I agree, function over form.
BUT HTC HAS TO COMPETE WITH THE IPHONE WAAAAAA
Vodaphone had forgotten to give me a screen protector and got 2 bad scratches within the first day.
Emailed HTC and they do offer to refurbish the screen, but need to phone them for what cost.
They also say you can list it as a DOA (dead on arrival) with the retailer if it scraches, but mine is an ebay'ed one
Wont insurance cover these things?

Cuts my hand?

Hi all,
I got my Nexus one and ever since I am bugged with this "defect"?. I checked with one of my friends and his N1 got this defect too. Do you all have it?
The defect is that; Right above the volume control buttons, the back cover doesn't fit. Part of the front casing (being hard and all) cuts my fingers when i try to hold this thing in my right hand. And that's my hand I use for reading stuff..
My questions are:
- do you have the same problem?
- if not, how can I order a back cover that fits perfectly? since I am really really annoyed with this?
- if there's another way of fixing this issue, what would that be?
best,
kirpi
I am from Turkey and one of my friends brought this n1 to me by the way, so rma is not an option [and I actually unlocked the bootloader already anyways]
mine does not have this defect
http://www.htc.com/www/support/nexusone/
they might still get you a replacement part for a hardware defect that cut you.. id call or email them and ask
Mine is fine.
My first Nexus One did not have this defect. My replacement does.
Call HTC and have them send you a replacement battery cover. If the replacement doesn't fit, have them send you a new phone.
Yes, I noticed it too and looked all over the web to see if it was normal. Seeing as others have noticed it to and some have even had one that fits properly and one that doesn't I think I'll try to call HTC and have them send a free cover. Has anyone tried this and been successful?
well, apparently it is not normal. so I asked htc how can i replace the cover.
i actually wait for any vendor /chinese etc/ to produce spare parts so that i can buy one in case htc cannot provide the cover to turkey
The back cover is off for me as well, however, I would suggest manual labor to toughen up your hands.

Did you speak to someone at HTC? Did they offer to send a replacement cover? The thing is I can't tell if it's the cover that is off or if the phone part is off.
The back case is a little off. And from all the pictures of nexus one... it seems to be the case for everyone. However, nothing that will cut finger. I rubbed my finger on it for 2-3 minutes..nothing.
Everyone else.. look closely.. the metal part between volume and power is slightly visible as compared to smooth side of left. It is very slight and looks like a design change HTC made for placing volume and power key.
Called HTC and they agreed to send out a replacement battery cover so we'll see if that changes anything.
My first phone did not have this. My second did. I am now on my third and it has the slightest of a lip. You couldn't even notice it unless it was up to your eye. However my issue is with the screen. The right side of the screen is not flush with the phone, and there is a jagged lip that is horrid. I've been waiting for them to close my current ticket ( It's been 2 weeks, and have my money back in my back, but it still says testing phone ( yes , it was unlocked =) )). My old phone had massive dust under the screen.
Anyone else have this screen to phone edge problem? I almost regret selling my iPhone as the quality control seemed better. But I love my openess
I have no edge issues on the back cover...

yeah if that cut him WOW!!! hahahaha
What kind of moisturizer do you use? Your hands must be silky smooth! Like buttah!
I just noticed this defect today! I only noticed it after dropping it though (while sitting on the toilet it fell out of my pocket) so no damage of course but didn't notice before hand
well i am not that silky smooth but my skin may be a little too sensitive, i admit (allergetic person here)
However, the off part is not that much small in my casing.
Also it might be related to how I handle the phone. I use my right hand to hold it and my index finger and middle finger hovers around that problematic edge all the time while using it. I changed my handling (since i cannot change jobs for a manual labor that easily )
anyways, HTC has agreed to send me a back cover without even asking too many questions (obviously to a friend of mine in america) It made me think that, this is a well known issue. If that defect is with the chassis than I'll just wait for HTC desire sell mine after that
I received my replacement battery cover today and unfortunately it also does not fit. I called HTC and they are escalating the issue to the accessories department to have them investigate the battery covers not fitting the recently built Nexus Ones.
cekle
it is saddening to hear that.. the rma life cycle is like hell for me (since i reside in turkey) well, please let us know if ever a fitting cover is sent to you and i will re apply.
I think all the N1s have this defect. Mine is about a quarter of a millimeter off just above the battery. It is actually common in electronics for covers to not fit perfectly.
Do I really care about something being .25 mm off? No.
The better question is, should that be enough to cut your hand or even scratch it?
In any manufactoring there is a "tolarence" that defects have to be under in order to be shipped out. In reality, everything has a defect.
The amount this cover is off is certiantly within most manufactoring tolarences. The N1 isn't going on a space shuttle so there is no need to have a tolarence of .001 mm.
There, you learned somethhing amount engineering and manufactoring.
In all honesty, do I think the tolarence for the cover was a big too high? Yes, but you are building something that costs $175 to make and then turning around and selling it $179 already, some corners must be cut.

Mine does not have a gap.
It looks the same on both sides for me.

Clear View Case

Hi,
I just got a new clear view case but the smart functions dont seem to be working. wondering if anyone else has tried the clear view case yet and if they have had issues?
My s view case is a bit hit n miss. Most of the time it works then sometimes it stops working. I then lose the accessories option in the system menu and later it eventually comes back… weird.
Clear view scratched my screen
I have a 2 week old S6 Edge which i fitted the Samsung Clear View case from day one. The screen is now full of scratches since and is bloody annoying the hell out of me. I have contacted Samsung UK and awaiting reply.
I strongly recommend avoiding this case at all costs. It is expensive and WILL scratch your screen no doubt about that.

Case going back
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I got the clear view case as replacement. Bought the cloth view case (don't remember the name) with a square window. The clips which hold the phone in cracked. Actually got a replacement for that type first.
Anyway, put screen protector on with the clear view because I'd read about some issue with it. After one day the protector has a couple of irregular, approximately circular, scratches up too a millimetre across. I was pretty careful to: emptied lint and cruft from my pocket and made sure the screen was visually clean.
Not that bothered though. Like the case. Just buy a new screen protector in a month or so. Actually, aside from the ludicrous issue that it scratches the crap out of your screen, I think it's really well put together. Shame the basic concept of hard plastic transferring touch pressure the the screen is startlingly flawed. It's kind of obvious in hindsight too.

Anyone have an official S View Cover?

Is it meant to stay shut? Via. a magnet or something?
My mom just bought one and as soon as she closes the front, it pops up again (which means the screen becomes active).
Is this normal?
That's normal
Yeah I bought mine from Wally World on clearance for $5, so I basically had to buy it. It does open some though, sometimes enough to make it become active, sometimes not so much. The only thing I did, and it works, for a while atleast, is set something heavy on it (just the case, not the phone) for a couple hours.
I have an official S-View Cover and when I bought it I was thinking of buying the little magnetic clipfrom Spigen but when I put the S view cover and realized it stayed correctly closed without activating the screen, I didn't buy the clip. Howerver if your cover keeps popping up, you might wanna get it.
After using
After putting in my pocket and abusing it, lol. My case stays shut now. I did have the same problem as you at first.
I got mine from the samsung store it self and it works perfectly and nicely. That's normal for the S-View to be on active once you've closed it anyway it will turn off and put on standby after a seconds.
