Kernel
Forked from Evervolv, stock kernel settings for good battery time
About the roms
All the roms I compile is as close to stock as it goes.
Kernel included in the rom has stock settings and that means, you as a user can not change the maximum CPU freq. of the kernel
and the CPU frequencies are for Sensation 1180Mhz and Sensation XE 1512Mhz.
I prefer stock CPU freq. on the kernel for stability and good battery time, for those who want to change their CPU freq. I have added
a kernel further down in this post.
Install
1. Normal procedure, first time installation wipe of all " wipe data/factory reset "
2. Install, reboot and when that is finished reboot back to recovery
3. Install gapps and reboot
4. Finished
Update
1. Install the rom "no wipe needed"
2. Reboot and when that is finished reboot back to recovery
3. Install gapps again and reboot " needed after each update "
4. Finished

Because of all the trouble I have with Ubuntu, I decided a week ago to replace all my computers to something else, it became Arch Linux, and of course when you change it brings a lot of setup, but now I'm back home with everything, I have a reasonably fast laptop but it behaved like win7 with ubuntu, the hardware I have is I7 processor, 8gb ram memeory and 256 gb ssd hard drive, now I start up up in 5 seconds with everything and compile a rom for about 45 min.
Well to the latest build
*** Important make a backup before flashing this build, needs a clean install that'smean factory wipe

I'd take a wild guess and say 1080p recording/playback works. On the other hand Autofocus (Camera HAL Issue??) may not work as the other 4.2.1 ROM's don't have that sorted yet. I may be wrong though.
nice start, didn't know frank was going to do a aokp 4.2.1 rom hope he does. :good:

This is an unofficial SlimBean ROM compiled for the Sensation. The ROM is experimental. Please include logcats, kmesg and dmesg when reporting problems. If you don't know how, search.
I am not associated with SlimBean, but I liked the idea of a small ROM and some of the tweaks. It's built using Team-Hydra's source and kernel; that includes Albinoman887's and Bruce2728's work.

Bugs:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Halo lag
- DSP Manager (process randomly dies)
- Video autofocus (normal picture taking mode works fine)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To do:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- libwvm.so
- Port over CAF MSM kernel to build for Sensation.
- Fix video auto-focus
- Fix DSP Manager
- Add option to choose between Slim customisation (lockscreen handle and wallpaper)
- Refactor a few things
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FAQ:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last App/Button mapping doesn't work:
- Settings > Interface > Hardware Keys > (Select your button) > Screen Off
- Reboot.
- Settings > Interface > Hardware Keys > (Select your button) > Last App/Your button map
My phone is getting hot!:
- Flash another kernel. (Sultan recommended)
- OC to 1.5GHz if not done so already.
- Make sure min CPU freq is above 384MHz.
- The phone will get hot while charging.
Help! My phone reboots when I turn on 'USB Storage':
This is caused by an application running on the SDCard. The phone can not kill the application so reboots, and this in turns allows you to turn on USB Storage.
A simple fix is to move all applications to internal storage.
- Go into Settings > Apps > Slide to 'ON SD CARD'
- Click on the applications with a checkbox.
- Move to Phone.
- Rinse and repeat for each application on the SD Card.
Facebook or an application is acting up:
Halo does cause issues with some applications. Try closing Halo and closing all applications through the 'Recent Apps' menu.
I can't install an APK, I can't click the install button:
Again, close Halo temporarily and try again.
Changelog:

02 June 13:
- Open music player on headset connect now resides in Settings > Interface > Sound
- Default Wallpaper changed (it seemed cool when looking at it full size, now not so much)
- Added APNs (Spiderio)
- Optimized a few things (forgot what I changed exactly)
- Kernel changes from Albinoman (see his CM10.1 thread)
- KCM reverted, will switch a QWERTY keyboard later
- WiFi region seems to work after reboot (for me at least)
- Under Volt init.d script removed.

- All Slim changes included, latest build is 6.
21 May 13:

- Fast-charge compiled but turned off.
- Fixed SU problems.
- Found SDCard 'USB Storage' soft reboots problem. FAQ for solution.
- Added all previous fixes, minus ASEC fix.
- KCM (keyboard character map) is now fixed. Using type FULL instead of type QWERTY.
- OpenPDroid build has the same changelog (as it's rebased) but with all OpenPDroid things.
OpenPDroid build being released later.
10 May 13:
(Build will be uploaded after I've compiled and tested them!)
OpenPDroid:
- OpenGL errors corrected.
- Latest kernel from Albinoman. S2W and fast-charge enabled.
- Clean source. No fixes other than wired-headset fix and OpenGL fix.
- All build.prop tweaks from ROM w/o OpenPDroid included.
- Other fixes will be added, this is more or less a test.
Without OpenPDroid:
- Fresh source.
- Reapplied all (almost all) fixes.
- Added init.d script to calibrate proximity sensor on boot.
- S2W enabled.
- Fixed 01slim init.d script. Now runs and zip aligns/fixes permission on boot.
- Added ASEC script to run on boot (as init.d script).
- Several other fixes (too lazy to list them today).
- Updated Apex to version 2.0.0
3 May 13:
- Updated to Build 5.
- Smart Capture, Audio Triggers and several resolutions added to Camera application.
- Removed a lib that was causing issues.
2 May 13:

- Corrected dirty fix for "voip_flag=" spam.
- Updated to latest source. (Video fix included, thanks Arco!)
- Fast Charge and Sweep2Wake are not complied with the kernel. This is to ensure proximity sensor works and extend battery life (fast charge causes problems with charge level as far as I know).
- Used S2W fix from Albinoman's/Team-Hydra's Phone Application.
- Several build.prop tweaks (they'll be tested before I push the real build)
- Compile missing libs (some libs are just plain missing).

- Using latest Kernel from Team-Hydra (Visit Albinoman's CM10 ROM thread for more details)
- Cleaned up source.
- Updated source.
- Will remove SlimIRC on next build.
- Will update hardware keys to enable mapping for search button.

I haven't added any myself, so all tweaks are Slim tweaks or CM tweaks (since they seem to be similar). This is just a first compile to see what works, what doesn't and what needs to be fixed first.
Possibly the first big bug has to be the missing Camera... opps.

Going by other CM10 ROMs, it may not be. As I don't have an MHL cable; if you're willing to test it out for me I would really appreciate it!
Great job on the build.
Zero problems to report. All extra interface options are all working.Having used the official S3 ROM, I have to say that this is just as good.
I've attached a few extra screenshots to help wet the appetites.-(The Dark/Stock theme switch is a winner).
Thanks to the OP for the share.

eagerly looking forward to working camera... great rom overall...

No problem. This is experimental though!
Logcats and dmesgs please!
I'm working on fixing things but need sleep right now... and pop tarts. If you guys find more bugs or errors let me know.
Seems like Camera libs are broken. Camera app is installed yet doesnot appear in drawer.
I tried the camera from 16:9 mod thread, and same problem there too.
Otherwise, the ROM's pretty smooth and love the dark theme. Some tweaks available on interface menu are pretty cool. Thanks alot.

If i was you i would ask albinoman or bruce for help getting the camera fixed on this one...pretty sure they can help you out, anyways im glad to see you delivering such a great ROM to the sensation as I'm running it right now on my replacement Samsung Galaxy S2 and its smooth as butter:good: good luck!
Sweep2wake isn't working, which isn't too big if a deal to me, but headphone playback isn't working (from my limited testing on YouTube and the music player)
Slim bean has been my favorite rom since the 4.2.2 version was released and I will be switching back once headphone playback is fixed, but for now back to cm10.1.
Fantastic first build keep up the good work.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
BroadcomCM is based on the CyanogenMod Project. Our goal is to create ROMs based on CyanogenMod Sources for Broadcom BCM21553 devices. All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the broadcomCM Github repo. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Many of you guys have expierienced problems while flashing things on my kernel, Roms and suhc. Due to all my works are based on EXT4 filesystem, you can't simply flash those ROMs you will need a procedure to be made, and that's what I'm going to explain:
NOTE: if you are on an EXT4 ROM jump to step 5. If you don't know, flash stock ROM and follow ALL the steps.
(RECOMMENDED) Be on a stock ROM, installation will be cleaner
Download THIS EXT4 tool, the Kernel and the Rom on your device.
Flash on Samsung recovery (or your recovery if you are not on stock), my temp. CWM.
When you are on the Temp. CWM, flash the EXT4 Formatter tool, so whole system will be converted to EXT4. (Stock filesystem is RFS)
After the installation, flash my kernel you have downloaded before.
When the Kernel is installed, go, on the CWM, to advanced --> reboot recovery (this will reboot the device, and turn it on on the new CWM of kernel)
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
(IMPORTANT) Go to mounts and storage, and make sure system is mounted (will show unmounted) mount it 2 times!
Go to install zip from SD Card, choose zip from SD card and install your CyanogenMod, AOSP, Cyanmobile, whatever your EXT4 Based ROM is. (MAKE SURE installation last more than 5 seconds, if is less than 5 secodns, your system is unmounted! repeate step 8).
After installation, go back and reboot system, if you made it good, ROM boots, so no problem on it.
That's the cleanest installation, there are other ways, but this one won't give you so much problems. Why do we have to make all of this? Because to run AOSP based ROMs (CyanogenMod or others), EXT4 is the best filesystem, so we need to convert RFS (Samsung) to EXT4, and this are the steps to do it perfect!
NOTE: MY kernel has a "bug", if you don't mount before installing, ZIP file won't be installed! Make sure everytime you mount system properly!
Many thanks to Lopicl.00 who created this EXT4 tool, useful for every noob user!
What the? Hell yeah....
Thanks, you 've done very good at rom and kernel
Gonna to try this

Well you have to find the touchscreen driver you need. Then you need to find its path and write it down into /sys/devices/i2c-3/3-0010/update_fw. It would have been easier make to make some script that would overwrite or maybe the value gets saved up. I would need to check further myself.

They right things the opposite way across the seas
@zaclimon
... DtW is random and works 90% of the time, I dont know if you can improve this but of ElementalX is works all the time. I have edited the config file and disabled all the stuff like Dtw in a certain angle (Landscape and portrait etc). I don't know if this will have any effect on the reliability so I have added it in.

Hmm that's strange, it's been working flawlessly for me. Have you tried to disable the pwrkey_suspend? Maybe it can resolve your problem because the code is the exact same one as of elementalx.

Yeah I think this is what he was referring to.
US (and maybe GB) way of writing dates : MM/DD/YY
The rest of the world way of writing dates: DD/MM/YY
Its a bit confusing at first maybe for you guys but it looks more logic that way. (in my perspective anyway)

Yes I have already disabled pwrkey_suspend... I have been testing a little more and sometimes it needs 4 taps to turn the display on. When it does this it works perfectly for a short while and then the problem arises again.

ElementalX was working perfectly fine. It's really strange and I can't see any reason why. If you can't do anything about it then that's perfectly fine ( just in case you think I'm nagging you to find a fix)

nAOSP ROM 7.x for Nexus 7 (2012)
The purpose of this rom is to provide a rom not so far of the AOSP with some cool features (nAOSP means "near AOSP").
nAOSP ROM has integrated superuser, but SuperSU systemless is supported from b03.
From nAOSProm-7.1.1 ParrotMod is not necessary any more.
Features
F2FS support
Substratum OMS support
Integrated superuser (can be overridden with SuperSU)

Flashing
For flashing procedure look at the nAOSProm-6.0 thread.
From nAOSP 7.0 b03 addon.d/backuptool is added to rom installation, so when updating ROM with the new build gapps doesn't need to be reflashed (if they support addon.d).
When upgrading from 7.0 to 7.1 you need to flash gapps if you use it.
Layers
Themes are supported with Substratum OMS theme engine.
This is not a CM Theme Engine so you can just use Substratum OMS themes.

Sometime picture freezes while playing YouTube videos while sound is still working. I will try to fix that for the next build.

[B01] I tried some 720p movie on youtube and that ran great.
Video in other apps just does not run at all.
Not in Kodi, nor in the NOS app (Dutch news), nor Horizon app (Dutch TV app).
---------- Post added at 10:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:46 PM ----------
So I flashed B01; for some vague reason TWRP refused to wipe /data so I got most apps that were installed (B07 of 6.01) again in Android 7. Still all ran rather fine.
Only the video apps did not work for me; but as I did some halfway clean/dirty flash I should be silent.
I am impressed with how it runs on my old Nexus 7; including the split screen thing. Just great fun.
GPS indeed works perfect: it locked super fast while I was sitting inside my house.
So I am quite impressed and pleased with this great ROM Thanks! :good:

I'm sorry but I didn't really understand xD
So you installed b01 and then installed b07 and YouTube ran fine?
Sorry, thanks ;D
Edit: also where is b07? Am I missing something?

No, N7 was running B07 ROM (Android 601). Then today I installed B01 (Android 7) and in there Youtube runs fine.

I have retested now Youtube with 720p video and it works fine for me. Maybe it was some background task before that caused youtube video freeze.
I did clean install - wipe data/cache then install rom + gapps
I've tested video playing in MXPlayer and it doesn't work. I will investigate.

I reckon this is related to the video problems I have with these apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.nos.app&hl=nl
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.xbmc.kodi&hl=nl
Great when this is fixed (then my wife can watch TV again in this app (need password):https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lgi.orionandroid&hl=nl )
Anyone played any working games? They don't seem to be working for me.

I have tried Sky Force, Subway Surfers, Push Box, they all work fine. Those are games that my son is playing on this device.
This is an old device with only 1 GB of RAM and some newer games may not work on it.
hello guys and girls.. I posted this as the NFC does not work with this build.
But there is a temporary solution to fix the NFC not working untill the op updates his thread. I thank @millosr for all this hard work with this rom.
i wish him the best of luck to make this device alive again
But all you need to do is FLASH this with the rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3878720&d=1474186454
and the NFC should work again (works with both nexus 7 2012 devices) Thanks to @daniel_hk for letting me provide this. All credit goes to him for making this for this thread
I have fully tested this with beaming facebook to nexus 7 2013 and google app to nexus 7 2012 and works 100%. Enjoy

Thanks, for this patch Who needs NFC can use this until next build.
I've actually already fixed NFC, and it will be in the next build. It is the same fix as for nAOSP-6:
https://github.com/millosr/android_packages_apps_Nfc/commit/15dbfc163c8d2327ee2d05ad0d0f7595443927f3
NFC wasn't priority for me so I didn't fix it for the first build.
Currently priority is fixing video playing in various applications. MX player actually works, it was just permission issue since I was restore it with Titanium Backup and it wasn't given Storage Permission.
There is also issue with placing widgets on the home screens. That will also be fixed in the next build.

On the video playing: I tried the other ROM on my Nexus 7, Dirty Unicorns by Daniel_HK, but that one also does not play any of the video related apps (or the video related parts in these apps).
I just tried on the Android 7 ROM for the Xperia S and there it does work fine: I tried the NOS app and I tried to run video trailers (Apple Movie Trailer) in Kodi for Android. On the XS it works.

Hmmm, I now see that I flashed the wrong / old Dirty Unicorns ROM by Daniel_HK: in this other thread and post he refers to having fixed the Video problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/rom-discussion-aosp-unofficial-t3467615
He says in the changelog: Find a way to fix the hwcomposer for video/audio playback, need to review later
And refers to having fixed it in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68830149&postcount=27
So I guess (I do not have access to my N7 right now) I flashed his 20160917 ROM whereas I should try this one: aosp_grouper-ota-eng.20160923.zip
So I reckon that insight in howto fix video can be found there.
