What ROM are you using, and what Google Play Services version do you have?
I'm on graviton with PA micro gapps ... Location off unless I'm actually navigating..... Never had any issues.
Tho.... I think with location off.... There is no issue. I could be wrong. But I haven't had it on any rom or gapps. Always with location off. And gnow off actually.

Okay, that means it isn't trying to download the OTA
If autostarts didny work you'll have to use a wakelock blocker, or a permission manager to block android.permission.WAKE_LOCK on Google Play Services

I'm not sure Google did that but I've 3 device running on android I couldn't find Featured apps on any of them and that matched with you.
Playstore automatically update itself with full internet connection,no need to download this.
Am already using this version 4.1.6.

Hi i have a samsung s4 galaxy clone and it has android 4.2.9 and i deleted the google framework because i was trying to get my google play services working as there was none but anyway as i did delete my google framework my google play store keeps saying no connection and when i try to install google framework it says app not installed so could anyone help me out please

Try placing it in system/app using a file explorer (if you're rooted obviously)... If not working try flashing via recovery a Gapps package.

okay i installed it but now for one of the app it says this app wont run without google play services and when i try to install it, it says incompatible with other applications using the same shared user id so any ideas

Yeah, something is wrong with the configuration of your clone phone. There is no 4.2.9. Without gapps, not much you can do about it.

What exactly did you "fix"? [emoji53] You can install the Playstore apk, but without out the gapps files for your ROM, it's useless.

well i fixed the google playstore and the google service framework all i need is the google play services which i cant install because on some of the apps it says this app wont run without google play services but when i touch the screen it goes away and i can use the app and when i go to playstore for some of the apps it says its not compatible with my phone even doe i had the app installed before all this
Since I realized you *can* downgrade your apps (install lower version over actual (higher) version of app) using android feature "pm install -r -d file.apk" yesterday, I got time and wrote small and simple app which does everything for you. Just pick APK and click on Install APK. That's it!

did you read OP? Looks like you didn't. Yes, app shown "successfully installated" because if you use this app how you should, it works. And I don't except that users will do crazy experiments
With or without this app you can't install app which requires 4.1 on device with 4.0.

Google Play will suggest upgrading. You essentially just installed an older version of the app in all terms.
You could achieve similar function by backing up your data, deleting the app, re-installing an older version, restoring your data. Obviously it would be longer, though.

Yes I was running it as a daily driver. Very stable but bluetooth doesnt fully work. It is based on a stock LG and doesnt touch your kernel so there is no need to BUMP it

having issues with WIFI not sticking at all, any ideas?
I've been using this ROM since last night and it's awesome! Only problem I have is that Playstore won't download/install nothing. I had to bring back my apps from Titanium Backup and download others from the Xiaomi Market. Tried installing Aptoide for a workaround but nope, said it was a virus and didn't wanted to install it. Haha Other than that, LTE works, WiFi works and Bluetooth works.
I agree its got a few bugs but its nice to see something different in development

These options are in GOOGLE settings, Did you have both the latest version of google plat services and android devicemanager installed
There should be a different app in your menu called google settings. Not the normal settings app.

Nopes. They are available in the same place
Everything is under security option under that app. Only that app can solve your issue.

Problem is , i manage to track another phone which also doesn't have android device manager installed. Why is that?
I've installed the app and it's still not working. I think the app is used to track other phones so it shouldn't matter if i have the app or not as long as my settings are enabled for location tracking.

Having the same problem on GS5 running CM12.1 as well as my SGS3 also running CM12.
Almost sure it's a CM problem at this point...
