This would be a great intiative. Beats are more comfortable than any other enhancement.

its just an equalizer preset that overblows the bass. you can change it to the hiphop in audiofx and its most like beats.

Install viper4android, enable the convolver and download an Beats IRC. 100% the same

+1 for viper4android, it works great.

Beats Audio and xLoud mod

Just a heads up to those who may not know, there is a Beats Audio/xLoud mod/port on the board and it works on the Atrix 2. Beats adds a deeper, cleaner bass and cleans up the mids/highs too. xLoud is a Sony Ericsson thing, it basically boosts the overall volume of ur audio. I just flashed this mod to my phone and holy ****, huge difference! I had to turn all my volumes down media/ringer/alarms. My good cans are packed (moving this weekend) so no testing with them yet but after hearing the difference I just heard with only the phone speaker I'm expecting to be very happy.

where is the xloud .zip file?
Whoa - déjà vu!
xLoud is included in the zip.
Audio volume really is increased overall (I too had to turn everything down) and the beats makes the bass sound sweet!

Maybe its just me, but I can't seem to find a difference in quality using the car dock. Audio goes out the car docks 3.5mm jack to my Volvo s60r's stereo. I was hoping for some more volume.

I flashed the first beats mod without xloud, can I flash the xloud mod over it?

Yes you can, it will just overwrite the one you just installed.

Tried this tweak last week and it's great. My highs have come alive and it sounds much cleaner.
So how does the mod affect the Motorola stock equalizer?
I'm assuming the beats audio is only effective in the My Music app? So do I have to disable the "Effects" in settings to hear the Beats Audio? Or should I switch that to custom?
This work well seems crisper...... Did notice if the bass is overpowering the mids and lows go to sound settings and un-tick enable audio effects..... For me with headphones will set effects enabled effects profile custom surround ambient eq bass punch WOW!!!!!

wait, so, it works by default, and all the additional effects are additional? but my system sounds are not any louder than they were before, which other people seem to be reporting

Mine are....I have had to turn all my volumes down since installing this mod. I haven't done any critical listening since I don't use my phone like that anyway, I was just hoping for louder system sounds and that's exactly what I got. The Beats is just an added bonus.
Ok are we supposed to download the one that says older zip files test301.zip or the allandroidzip.zip that looks to be the newest?

Yea these are some of the same complaints I've heard about the actual beats headphones because they're made really for more hip hop songs and not a wide range of music the highs are where those headphones usually suffer IMO

Sound enhancer mod question

I'm thinking of flashing this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771622
But would like to hear some feedback about how well it works first. Is this kinda like voodoo sound for Wolfson DAC's? Or just an EQ? If it's just an eq what's the advantage of this over any eq in the market?
Thanks in advance.

[q] beats help?!

I have the htc one x for at&t. I just flashed the cyanogen 10 mod yesterday and I noticed it took away the beats audio software so I downloaded the 3rd party beats applications that requires root and it just doesn't sound as good as it once did. Does anyone know how to put the original software on cyanogen 10 for this phone? or am I just imagining it's sounding different?
can someone help me out as soon as possible. I have been having a hell of a time finding any information on this.
-Thank you
Try jet audio player. It was posted as an apk in the themes and app section.. huge equilizer and a ton of presets. Sounds way better than beats because you can fine tune it to your style and preferences
But as far as getting it on cm10.. nope

Does it transfer to any other audio applications or is it only dedicated to that one in particular?
The reason I ask is because I really like the Zuneish layout using Uber music.
Thank you
Ohhh yea it only controls music player... There's a sound mod in the development forums from aznrice.. he poops out some awesome beats

It seems that Digital output gain controls not only affects volume on headphones but also in-call speaker volume. I need to have very low digital gain for headphones (for good quality) but then in-call volume on speaker is very low. Is there any way to set digital gains for speaker and headphones separately?

SRS Enhancement?

On my old HTC Incredible 2, the music player came with SRS enhancement baked in, which I like more than the other sound mods, but I can't find it anywhere
.. Is it even possible to get it on other phones? And if so, how?

Those Srs enhancements are in acid audio mod and others like it.

Can you use the SRS enhancement by itself with those? Because it was my understanding that all the sound mods were mixed together

Technically no Acid is a combination of audio technologies those technologies aren't sound mods themselves the end product that is Acid is a sound mod. There are i believe 5 audio mods/dsp processors for this phone as of now. Those are Acid, Viper 4 Android, Nooxyide, volume hacks(increases volume beyond the normal loudness) and clear audio+ with audiofx widget. At the moment the only Srs related mods are for older devices.
