Hi,
I haven't tried it yet. Still deciding which ROM to stick to. However one idea is to download and install the "sd card fix" from App Store.
Then using Force app2sd (again from app store)
Let me know if it works. However you would need to root your phone to use the "sd card fix". In case you need to know the sd card fix is a fix for enabling the writing of sd card on KitKat devices by other apps.
All the best :good:

Hi All,
I've two tablets and the internal free space in getting lower, I need to install apps directly on their external sd cards. How is it possible? All the "2SD" apps don't work.
Thank you all in advance :good:

You can't unless you root the tablet and use non standard software.

Really...... I was under the impression that it could not be done at all.
Please tell how as I would like to know also.
Thanks.
.
didnt figure this out but u can use titanium and move those on the device to leave more space for other installations.
If you are rooted and on a stock ROM or ROM not using JB 4.2 (Google changed the file structure again in JB 4.2), you may be abe to use zedomax's script that swaps the internal and external SD cards. Although it's long, I would suggest reading through the entire thread as glitches with the stock ROM update to JB 4.1.2 and work arounds are addressed later in the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857391&page=1
I'm interested in this as well. I read a post on something called a directory bind...??? I guess that moves app data to the SD card. I currently have just over 9 gig of space left to fill (16gig model). Just put in a class 10 32gb card in last night to find out that app2sd does not work...
I read today that link2sd might work. Haven't gotten a chance to try it yet though.

I tried link2sd and the other one mentioned in this thread with no luck.
I don't really want to do the the card swap method.
So........... if anyone has another way to store apps on a mico sdhc card that truly works, I'm in.
Found app that truly works
I finally found an app that truly transfers your app data to your "extSdCard" but you do need to have root.
The app is called "Directoryblind" and can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262 and the most current file is DirectoryBind_0.2.0o.apk
The app has been out since 12-2011 with many updates since its release.
So I'm posting it on this Note 10.1 section as I have never seen it talked about in this section and I thought it may help someone else find this app.
Again it truly does work.

Hello everyone. I recently underwent a forced upgrade to an LG Optimus F3 after my Kyocera Rise almost started a house fire. I am trying to get all my apps on the thing and everything has gone smoothly. However when I tried to install FIFA 14, which is a large app, I receive an error message.
i imgur com/xhlUueG.png
This is baffling, since I have over 25 GB of space remaining on the card.
i imgur com/QVHmmF9.png
Any advice on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated.
Things that may be ****ing stuff up:
-I literally took the SD card straight from the other phone and put it in this one.
-I have been installing a lot of stuff today.
-I don't really know what else.
Do you have Lucky Patcher installed on you're phone..?

No, I do not. Would you recommend I install it?
I thought the problem might be coming from the fact that the SD card was used in another phone. So I used the Erase all Data option in Settings > Storage, but the problem persists.
Can anyone help, or do you need more info?
Maybe I need to format the card another way?
And pardon the double post, but here's another screenshot, this time of ES File Explorer.

Is it normal for there to be two directories there?

I could really use some help figuring this out. I used Aparted to delete the partition and create a new one but still no change. Is there anywhere else or some other subforum where I should be posting this, or is there a way for me to figure this out on my own?
Does your phone detects your SD card or are you able to move apps to SD card???

Well, it shows my SD cards under Settings > Storage, but I'm not seeing an option to move apps to SD on the app menus.
I also hard reset my device, but apparently the problem still persists. When I get home imma try the other SD card and see if there's a change.
No change with the other SD card, so it must be a phone error. Any ideas?

Is your phone currently rooted??? And Aparted is an awesome software. your not using the android app to partition the sd when a pc should be used to partition the sd with a micro reader???

Yes, I just rooted my phone. However, the problem persists, and I still don't have the option to move apps to SD card. I'm not sure what you're getting at in the second sentence though, sorry.
Okay what I mean by the second sentence is that Aparted is available for pc and as apk for android, which one did you use??? And when you partitioned the sd card what format did you use NTFS, FAT32, FAT16 etc.... and also did you wipe the sd prior to formatting it???

I used the android one, a fat32 format, and yes.
Okay, basically what I think is going on is that my phone just doesn't support apps on SD card. Something about the way my filesystem emulates an SD card or something, so it's not a capability I can just unlock from the phone. Anyway, I've been able to sort of work around the problem by using link2SD with an aparted partition, which looks like it's working perfectly, as far as it goes. If anyone else runs into a problem like this and finds a better solution please let me know!
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Awesome, and link2sd is one of best app2sd apks available....cheers man

Hello Im having a very serious issue with my phone. I cant move apps to my SD Card for some reason. my phone is rooted and i tried using app2usb or whatever its called but still no luck i know my phone can read the SD because i have songs on it and my music player can play the songs on my SD but i just dont understand why its not letting me transfer apps nor letting me install apps into it. PLEASE HELP!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4g from tmobile with custom rom, Cynogen Mod 9 ICS. I also have a 8gb SD card
I have also tried deleting smdl2tmp1.asec but i cant find that in my phone nor my SD Card
Try ZDbox to move your apps to sd card
I personally use App2SD but I think for custom ROMs, ZDbox is more reliable

I have the same problem like you, then I backup all my data in sdcard saved in computer and use minitool partition to format ext2 and main partition. Now copy data to sd card (main partition) again. Next step you use your recovery tool as CWM (your device have been rooted) to restore. I have fixed that problem.
I'm having problems trying to download files to my SD card on Lollipop. Not sure if it matters or not, but I had a SD card fix installed when I was on KitKat. I know that Lollipop is supposed to have support for SD cards but it's not working for me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

So I did root so that can't be the issue. I can't get it to see the card at all, even in settings, under storage it doesn't show up even as mounted.
I've tried restarts, removing and inserting, etc to no avail...

I can see my card and even play my DVD's off of it via VLC (MX Player isn't 5.0 ready), but I can't change files. Does Android's "Erase SD Card" option also format? I may try that as I don't have anything else that can read/format a 64GB microSD (well, my DSLR can but I have no microSD to SD adapters)

I understand that since kitkat this has been the case but with EZ Explorer on the NST it worked so I expected to have the same behavour.
It's not unfortunately.
Apps accessing data on the SD card don't find the data
I did some further tests and it looks like apps, for example a navigation app where the maps are on the SD card, don't find the map data on the SD card.
I am not rooted and just did the upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Everything worked fine before the update though.

another way if already rooted, install Folder Mount (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=en) which is very useful in it's own right. When ran for the first time it'll detect that the SD Card is not writeable, it'll offer to fix it. Choose to do so, reboot, and presto!!
