[Q] How can I add Proxy information to my Samsung Tab 3 that is connecting via WIFI - General Questions and Answers

I have a Samsung Tab 3 P5200 that is already rooted. Its running 4.2.2 at the moment. My issue is that when I connect to my work LAN via WIFI, I am not able to get any of my apps or internet to work despite it connecting to the network. My work LAN uses a proxy to connect to the internet. I have gone through my settings on the tablet but am not able to find exactly where I can put the proxy information that my work network uses. Can anybody help?

WIFI connected but no internet

I live in India. I had purchased a new TP LINK wifi + modem router last week. The modem works great as I access internet using my PC ( ethernet connection broadband) . I tried connecting WIFI using my android, but even when connected I don't get internet on my device.
Help me. Here are some screenshots of my modem settings page ( when my android galaxy mini is "connected to wifi, (no internet though))
Status :See my android phone in list of wifi connected clients
And in that WAN tab, why that PVC0 status is down??
In LAN settings photo modem shows my device android connected to modem, but still no internet.
Please anybody who can help me. Anything wrong with wireless modem settings? Please suggest.
Anyone please?

[Q] Buildroid Wifi Settings Hack

Hi Everyone!
I just wonder if any master can help me in this regard. I have rooted my Tab2 (thanks to xda!!). I opened up buildroid vbox86 4.0.4 version in virtualbox (Host - win7 64 bit). When I browse from virtualbox I noticed that it showed me connected as wifi though I am working on desktop+virtualbox+ethernet broadband and without wireless interface.
So is it possible to get wireless settings from buildroid and put them into Tab2. My intention is that I need to connect Tab 2 to my desktop via usb and then with some modifications in wifi I could connect my tab2 to pc internet.
I tried several things like "Reverse tethering" that I found on this forum. But as far as just AndroidTool 2.30 helped me to browse but not to download. I want to download from market too. I am thinking of tweaking my tab2 to think that it is connected to Wifi as buildroid connects to my lan.
Thanks in advance,
Sampada

Blutooth tether not working after JB install

I sucessfully updated to Austria JB on my P6210 and i am having an issue getting the internet connection to come up via BT tether, It was working on ICS.
I connect the tablet to a Q10 via BT for acess over the mobile net. In ICS, i could see, in BT configuration for the Q10 two options, both with a check box to enable or disable and i just had to check internet connection and away i go.
In JB...i see the same services but the one for internet connection has no check box. If I touch the option it looks like it tries to connect but it returns with no message and no connection.
Any help appreciated.

I've tried the PdaNet Tablet app on my 6210 (with JB Ireland/UK installed) to tether to my phone running FoxFi's Bluetooth tethering feature. That works well.
I haven't been able to use the regular "Internet access (Use for internet access)" feature under the Paired devices in Settings>Bluetooth. That does not work.

WOL for Android and Proxy for ethernet

Hi
I have an Android box running 4.2.2 ICS
Just wondered, I would like to be able to remotely wake it from a sleep state with a PC (similar to a PC wake on lan command) - had a search but cant find anything, is there such a thing available?
Also, it has an ethernet port that I would like to use to connect to the outside world via a proxy but there are no proxy settings for the ethernet. Setting the proxy in the WiFi dosnt work for ethernet and the apps I've tried (proxy droid etc) only work with WiFi connections too. Anyone found a solution to this please?
Any help gratefully received
Cheers

Help with Samsung galaxy j7 sky pro hotspot

I bought a straight talk Samsung galaxy j7 sky pro and can't find the hotspot if it even has one. So I installed a hotspot from the Google play store and it says I have to root before it can be used with this phone. Can someone please tell me what that is and how to fo it? I tried looking it up on Google but I couldn't make heads or tails of it.
This works
I have this phone for straight talk and i use PDAnet for android. If you have a laptop with hotspot capabilities, you can use PDAnet on there for a USB tether. The other alternative that might work for you ( did not work for me due to some dumb error) is FoxFi. FoxFi is compatible with PDAnet too. You can use a Bluetooth connection too for some devices.
Hope it works!
What does it matter what "hotspot" capabilities you have on any other device other than a standard wifi connection? And pdanet is used on the pc or other device? What exactly turns wifi hotspot feature on on this phone according to your solution?
So I was able to connect my windows laptop to the network but not my other android phone. I have PdaNet installed on it too. So if anyone has any tips on how to get android to Android to work with this phone pls advise. I'm using the j7 Sky Pro for straight talk

I also have a J7 sky pro and have noticed when trying to connect to a pdanet hot spot (using wifi direct hotspot on another device and connecting to it with the J7) that some devices have communication issues that are hit or miss. My wife has the galaxy note 9. When hers is used as the wifi direct hot spot it will connect to the network using WPS but pdanet bugs out or something. After wps process finishes it says "WPS complete, Waiting for wifi connection. It remains stalled out there. However I did manage to get it to sucessfully connect to it ONCE (1 out of about 400 attempts) I did manage to get it to connect outside of pdanet for internet connection by using the wifi connection settings and connecting to the network there but also hit the advanced options and then set the proxy to manual then used 192.168.49.1 as the proxy address & port 8000. that allowed me to gain internet with the j7. As i said though it so far has just been with the Note 9. A friend with an S9 set his up and I could connect to it just fine. So I don't know if it is pdanet actually nerking out and having issues or if it is the communication between the devices. If you are trying to use your J7 as the hotspot set it up as wifi direct instead of the foxfi hotspot then use connect to pdanet hotspot from the other device to connect to the the J7
