Cm speaker phone bug - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Any one else, the inability to talk on speaker phone while on the CM rom? Where the mic is muted while on speaker.
Anyone know of a fix?

Its currently an issue on all aosp roms.
No fix yet.

I hope this isn't including the GPE

I don't think GPE is technically considered AOSP but I'm not 100%.
The issue is found in CM, PA, AOKP, Gummy. Anything you see in the title that lists AOSP

The couple of GPE's I ran had working speakerphone, YMMV. GPE's include the HTC framework, so perhaps that's why.

CM's integrated GPE stuff into their rom... why not use the same thing for speakerphone...

Annoying headset switching to mono

I have an annoying problem with my Inspire. I am running the latest CM7. No matter, because it did this on any/all iterations of CM7.
When listening to music with a stereo headset, every now and then, the phone has a glitch where it will for no reason turn the output signal from a stereo signal into what sounds like a mono. I have to pause the music, unplug my headphones (until the headphones icon disappears), then plug it back in again, which fixes it. It does this often enough to be an annoyance.
I've already tried different headphones, and it does it to all of them, so the issue is with the phone.
Does anyone else have this problem, and, if so, can you tell me how to fix it?
Thanks!
Just out of curiosity have you tried a fresh install? Almost every issue I've run into I've been able to cure by wiping everything and starting fresh.

I haven't tried that so far with this phone, although I'm 100% certain it didn't help (as I'm on my second Inspire, the first one's vibrator was defective, and it used to do the same thing).
Ugh, annoying! It just did it 2 times already since then!

Now that is the one thing I have not tried. However, I only have 2 choices, right? It's either a CM7 based ROM or a Sense based ROM; all of them are based off those two.

Pretty much. But you can flash a sense rom and then run the no sense script if you want to try a sense rom but don't like sense

[Q] Low microphone?

Hey!
I have been having issues with my microphone on my LG G2X - I have it rooted, and it's running Miui - not sure what version... I have completely wiped and gone factory, but when I talk everyone can't hear me..... I bought it from a friend - who said he had problems - but it seemed to fix itself out..... Not sure what I can do.
Does anyone know how to increase the volume for a microphone? Or how to take it apart and fix it manually?

Is it related to the ROM? Or have you tried other Roms? I know that the latest Nightlies of CM7 have that issue, but the stable release of CM7 doesn't.

That really seems to depend on the phone, also. I've flashed every single nightly since the 40s, and when the 'microphone issue' started popping up I made it a point to test my mic volume to a minimum of 5 other phones every nightly....and it's never been a problem on my handset. Not once...
Not saying the problem doesn't exist, it just doesn't seem to be present on all devices..
I had the same prob on cm7 around nightly 174 or 175. Try pushing the latest stable release of cm7.. i bet it'll be all set.

I totally agree, my phone has it where as my parents' doesn't. Wonder what could be the issue.
It's a known issue on some MIUI builds, some have suggested replacing files (for example: http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?10200-Low-mic-problem) or playing around with mute/unmute (for example: http://www.galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/forums/showthread.php/2352-Low-Microphone-Volume). I haven't experienced the problem myself on recent builds from Whitehawx.

Verizon CM10 Nightlies

Installed the most recent nightly Jellybean for Verizon. Seems stable but I notice what seems to be degraded sound quality on phone calls. Anyone else having that issue?
Can someone more experienced recommend a better (or preferred build)?
Thanks,

You can't expect nightly builds to be stable- they will and do have issues with various things.
The vast majority, if not every single AOSP ROM for the SGS3 uses all of (or a good chunk) of CyanogenMod's code, which is why you see so many of the same bugs between builds that are rarely fixed until someone submits to CyanogenMod's Gerrit.
I can't comment on your specific issue, just posting some food for thought.
A lot of people have posted about echoes or low volume on the CM10 builds. I don't make many phone calls so I don't know if this affects every phone running CM10. But I'm sure it does to various extents. They will work it out in the coming weeks as they work toward a stable build.

the echo seems to be gone in the 8/31 build

Is there a stable build other than the nightlies? If so where would I find it?

No echo here. I just flashed to the 9/1/2012 nightly from stock.
Did you try playing with the call settings? I have noise suppression enabled and voice privacy disabled.
I actually have a similar problem (can't post on official thread yet).
I have trouble with my headset volume.
If i plug it in DURING a call, I cant hear anything and can't do anything to adjust the volume.
If i plug it in BEFORE a call, it's fine.
Any clues as to whats going on or any suggestions on how to fix it?
Paranoid android Sept 2nd build seems to work nice, i think it works better than the CM10 builds even though its based off it. You can also mess around with tablet mode!
Let's get the echo fixed and the roaming issue fixed and the forum will flock to these roms. Till then I would beware.

I just flashed CM10 09/04 nightly and I am still getting the 3 second In call delay, I am still getting echo on speaker phone and I am still getting my voice navigation only say " in a half mile" Nothing else, No one seems to even mention this in the official CM10 forms. and No its not a half mile from my house to the end of my street , its like less than 1000 ft. Everything else seems to work good but the delay and the echo are very annoying so I am going back to the build that worked best for me cm10 08/22

Same results here for 904. The other forum mentions that an unofficial build has the incoming call delay fixed, though, so I'm hoping the fix shows up when the official 905 ROM comes out.
Headphones with mic not working
I'm running the 9/2 build and when I plug the stock headphones with mic into the phone I cannot talk or hear phone calls through it. No issue with music. Screen flickers when using keyboard (Swiftkey). Volume control in call doesn't seem to work. There is also a 5 second delay when I answer a call to when I can hear the other person or they can hear me. Same delay with speaker phone.
At least the damn echo is gone though :good:
Can anyone confirm whether or not the dock audio is working on recent CM10 builds? I've tried searching the thread and have done everything short of just flashing it to see.
Thanks for your replies!
The dock audio was still not working for me on the CM10 from 9/5.

You are correct. Just tried it myself. This is the main thing holding me back from CM10. I'm going to attempt to add it in myself. We'll see what happens.
9/5 build seems to be very solid. No data issues or call issues. Cannot comment o no the dock audio though. Make sure you aren't doing dirty flashes, there have been tons of issues with dirty flashing.

This is why I switched to ParanoidAndroid. It is Jellybean and far more stable than the current CM10. If you want Jellybean right now~ I highly recommend PA. If you really like CM, still, try PA~ it will help you wait for the official CM10 release. I actually don't see a need to go CM10 tbh. PA is wonderful.

[Q] Wired mic not working on AOSP ROMS

On my AT&T HOX (evita S-OFF, upgraded to 3.18 firmware), I cannot find an AOSP rom where the mic on my HTC or any other 3rd party wired headphones will work. It only will use the mic that is built into the phone itself. If I use any Sense-based rom, the wired headset mic works just fine. Would love to stay on AOSP for battery life and performance, but this is a showstopper when trying to talk hands free on business calls. Anyone have any hints as to what I can do to get the wired mic recognized? Or just why it won't work?
Thanks!

I'll load up an AOSP with a 3.0 kernel to try it. Is the wired mic working with your device? Which ROM? I am currently on ViperXL, which uses the 3.4 kernel, but it is Sense.
I'm currently on MagioRom, but I've used every aosp ROM available (apart from Xylon). I haven't used a wired headset in a while because mine broke, and I'm not sure how long ago that was, so I'm not sure whether I can confirm it worked for me on the 3.4 kernel. I know it's definitely worked for me on the 3.0 kernel.

I installed the CM 10.0 stable from last December that uses the 3.0 Kernel, and the wired microphone works. Great suggestion! I'll go back to the devs and see if they can understand what happened in 3.4 to kill that. Thanks!
The issue is already posted in the CM10.1 issue tracker, so the devs are already aware of this issue. I believe this is a recurring issue with AOSP ROMs using the 3.4 kernel, because I was using CM10.1 prior to that takedown that stopped nightlies for us and was not experiencing this issue.
Others will say that it works fine over bluetooth. That's the answer that I have been given a couple times, but not the answer that I was looking for myself.

[Q] Is there any Lollipop ROM that has a working bluetooth and audio

I have read through several of the ROM threads and trying to determine which ROM and/or ROM+Kernel+Config combination works towards a stable bluetooth configuration.
I've had intermittent bluetooth connection drops on several of the CM 12 nightlies. In some cases, I've had audio issues as well.
If someone has a Lollipop based working configuration that enables a stable bluetooth, please share.

BlissPop worked great up until about a week ago with just the regular installation, no tweaks. CM then introduced some new commits regarding bluetooth, so as far as I can tell, all CM-based ROMs will have the same issue now (and I've tested over a half-dozen so far). DarkoBass is mostly AOSP, I believe, and it didn't seem to have any issues - made it through a few songs with no stutter - but I missed too many other features from BlissPop so I went back tweaking it with Boeffla to find a solution. ParanoidAndroid is mostly AOSP as well - I bet bluetooth on it would work fine, and they just released an alpha build today, I think. Might just give it a try myself...

CM has been working on it; I believe they just pushed two new BT commits to try to fix some of the issues in the last day or so. I haven't tried out any updated ROMs to see if it helped yet. I reluctantly left BlissPop and tried out Slim Saber with AK kernel (someone somewhere said BT worked on it) and after a couple kernel tweaks I didn't have a single skip to or from work today. And it turns out it's a pretty damn good ROM too.

Had continuing problems with Temasek nightly. Switched to [ROM][5.0.2][02/04][OFFICIAL] GzRoms -Validus- [v7][Bacon] yesterday and have had zero BT music playback issues with Performance mode enabled. Couldn't be happier with this ROM.
