Hi folks, after long time i made finally a new slim-rom bassed on v1.1 B01- Kitkat update from 25.7
I modified a custom ROM from myzte.cn
ROM is smoother than 4.3
What I did:
* Deleted some useless Chinese apps
* changed original email, calculator app with the original google ones
* changed dpi to 445 , looks better in apps and it´s stable
* default language is set to English
* added Apollo music app / original music app is deleted
* added 4.4 camera app
* deleted Chinese zte browser and replaced by default android browser
* added CM launcher
What was moded by the Chinese:
* it´s ROOTED
BUGS:
- NO ART support
- Dolby digital don´t work
- let me know
What you will need:
1. the great ZTE s291
2. Installed Recovery - tutorial here: s291 ROOT and RECOVERY
3. free space on your sd- card
Install instructions:
1. Put slim_kk_s291.zip to root of your SD-card
2. Put google apps also to the root of the card - download: http://d-h.st/AeM
3. Turn phone off and boot to recovery (hold volume up + power button until it vibrates then hold only the volume up button)
4. Wipe data /factory reset
4. Install slim_kk_s291.zip
5. Install google apps
6. Reboot phone
7. Enjoy

That´s not so easy to change the settings app. And the widget problem is still there but you have now choice to use Mifavor , Google now and CM launcher , on all the widgets work fine.
This ROM is actually pretty awesome. All the bloatware was gone and I got to root my device!!! thx so much jozco looking forward to new roms from you

Yeah it´s better than the stock , but i think that the optimalization on our device it´s not so good ... in few games i got a lot of lags , in 4.3 not , but the system seems to be more smoother , we will se on 30.7 (Wednesday) when the next update will be out... Than I try to make another slim rom , hope it will be better than this. And write me what launchers do you use , i can put them in the next update and the widgets will work.

I really like to use go launcher but I don't want to use it because it won't let me add any widgets. Now I just use the google launcher. Hopefully in your next ROM you can add go launcher.
Viper4android?
Has anybody tried out viper4android. On my 4.3 Rom (B10) it works. Only dolby low power feature somtimes disturbes.

widgets (in NovaLauncher) and GravityBox don't work on Your ROM. Do they work on Trebuchet?
I have sometimes FC on Gapps. Am I the only one? And on "Clock" and "Trebuchet".
I have the same issues. Trebuchet is very unstable. Stock launcher seems to be stable, but it is hard to personalize (icon sheme, start bar,...)

Use the google now launcher. It's pretty stable for me.
My root acces just disappear ! first time I see that !
I downgraded to the slim-Rom 08. With this one the antutu Benchmark went down from 32.000 to 27.000. And there were a lot of chinese apps still inside.

1. Put .zip file in /sdcard
2. reboot phone with recovery.

4. select install zip and select _zeDv1.0120218-****.zip
5. After install , clear cache and reboot.
Now If u stuck on Startup Screen , Just give time max about 5 mins.; if nothing happens pull attery out and insert it again
Voila you are good to go..!

nope , it take few seconds(ie)2-3 seconds delay to lock ,overall a great rom with fast response and awesome lockscreen . few glitch here and there like chinese language in lockscreen(date ,calendar and something written below that sorry as i dont know chinese couldn't make it clear) and also in the keyboard some chinease language

- more ram needed than EMUI
- more battery consume than EMUI
- chrome won't work [just found it]
- can't play video when activated from gallery. it need miui video player, I remove it. But if you browse from explorer, the video played well. I'm using huawei video player, more beautifull. the gallery need to be modded [just found it]
any way, you can install benchmark and found it faster than other miui or maybe other EMUI

What about EAP-SIM? is it working with this rom,
I think default Chrome that, comes up with HUAWEI stock rom is the on that would work on this phone. Are you cooking this rom alone?
ICS chrome won't work. it's FC.
EAP-SIM still no work. in MIUI, I have to mod settings.apk and hack boot.img

Supported language
I'm finding it hard to figure out what rom to install. I want a ROM with support for my own language - Norwegian. This and many other roms do not provide the stock multilanguage support. Please consider adding supported languages as a feature?
Anyways, in this ROM you get - English and some Chinese only. The OSK is great tho, it does support norwegian.

Great job. I love this rom. I've installed it a few minutes ago and it looks that is working flawless (The only problem is that the launcher it lags sometimes). It's fast, it's good looking and will definitely be my rom until next release ^^. So, I'd rate this rom with 9.5/10.
One more problem is when you activate the rotation animation.. it's buggy, when you rotate the phone it shows a green screen. But except that, it's awesome.

I've installed the R2 version yesterday and it looks like it's working better, but the only problem I've seen is that at "about phone" menu it still says that it's the R1 version, even though I flashed the latest release.
Problems
Cannot install Google Play Services, same user ID as installed app error.
Lock screen does not always appear fast enough on screen on, can use phone a bit before it shows.
Power menu freezes phone if on lock screen
Cannot edit accounts on phone, prompts for adding.
Apart from those, great job

* managed to get location fix via Wi-Fi

* accelerated boot speed (15-16s)
* white circle battery
* better power-saving mode (doesn´t lag so much)
* when you click on the right corner of the display when is the time - you lock the screen
* Off-screen CRT effect
* it shows network speed on status bar
* it´s ROOTED
* optimized touch screen
* added Sony camera imaging engine
* more reboot options in settings
* and other optimizations

Hi,
every android rom is multilingual you need only to download morelocale2 fro play store , and have a rooted phone.
You can choose every language you want.

could you tell me how did you fix the network location?
i found lots of solutions but failed
and I find a bug ,when gps searching the satellite ,the notification bar show the flashing gps logo, but the animation was wrong in the second flame
it turned to be a download logo

Hi , it´s a moded original rom , i call it slim becouse it doesn´t have the chinese apps. So it´s on diet :laugh:

Yeah i noticed the bug too now , the chinese made a mistake by modding , sorry for that ...
And how to fix , by me it seems to work .... i don´t know but maybe a good solution is to modify the kernel , but i don ´t have any experience in kernels , etc.

Hi , i don´t know how to remowe the network speed , the chinese devs moded the framework , but i will made a another rom soon.
You have turned the power saving mode on , turn it off ,the score should be about 33-34000.

Thnaks dude i have already test the hold version of facebook and it s run on lollipop but i would like the last version would run with lollipop. It doest matter. I m waiting the new update of lollipop without imcompatibilite whith this apk.
Well, I had to try it out for my G900A, even though I realize the kernel and runtime are totally different. I must say, it showed a successful flash in SafeStrap, where no other LP Rom has yet. However on boot the screen just went black and stayed that way. Lol. No big deal though, I simply 3 button combo to stock recovery, rebooted and my SafeStrap menu popped right up. Restored my nandroid and all is well. Stupid locked bootloader. [emoji35]
What if i don't come from android 5.0 and i want to upgrade this without upgrading the stock rom?
