Does anybody else is experiencing issues with the default camera app after update?
Like unable to capture photos sometimes or focus issues.?
Working here perfectly with 4.4.4

The stock camera crashes when I:
-enable RAW
-select slow shutter
-select a shutter speed of 2, 4 or 8s in camera settings
The annoying part is that I have to reboot every time to fix the camera as it seems to be unable to connect again after crashing. Is there any way to fix this without rebooting? There is a play store app but it doesn't work.

Question:
Stock?
Bootloader unlocked?
Rooted?
Custom Rom?
Custom Kernel?
Any tweaks to the device other than stock?
I'm just curious...if stock users are having trouble, or is it just the tweakers?
Have you tried a factory reset? And as above, any mods or running 100% stock?
Rooted with stock rom and stock kernel. Clearing the camera cache doesn't help.
I'll try a factory reset as some users don't seem to have the bug.
I've noticed that too. I've also noticed two more things:
- 4k UHD + RAW = bad time. As soon as I hit record it gives me a black screen, I stop the recording and it freezes. I have to force close the camera app to be able to do anything with it again. Oddly enough, 4k DCI works fine.
- Slow-mo video + RAW = choppy. The video seems to be playing back at a super low frame rate. Everything seems to have a lot more motion blur too.
Using raw any time there is low light results in camera crash as well

rooted, with stock everything. after taking 8 sec slow shutter, when saving it lags, then black screen then crash. then when i reopen all the menu still there but black screen. anything i do from there it will just crash.
I have the same problem as the poster above.
Any clue?
The other problems described here were correct with the latest update.
Anyone with anything on this?
Same issue here. Will it be fixed ever?
Yep, this has been a known bug from day 1 bro.
Just to put my 10 cents, same problem here even in Auto mode.
This is the only issue I have with my phone now. Hoping CM12 fixes it.
Hello, in CM12, as says Spectre, camera works well, but is there way, to fix this problem in latest official CM13.1, or Lineage14? Thanks much
edit: well, sorry, in CM12.1 problem still here, seems aka HW problem... overheating?
No working solutions? ((
Hi,
Not sure if it's hardware or software issue. I tested latest CM11 nightly and CM12 nightly - both the same. While recording with any 3rd party app, I noticed lost focus and zoom every 1-2 seconds.
It's really annoying. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9dBt11t-LA
There is exactly the same effect while recording with CameraNext with autofocus set to continous. Do you have the same effect? If I set autofocus to auto in CameraNext, there is no autofocus at all
as i can see, its trying to focus on the closest point, try an other focus mode(infinity should work i think).
when you touch the screen to focus somewhere else is it working?

Yes, but it's trying it even if there is no any closer point. Seems one of latest CM12 updates solved this effect. However, any other than continous in CameraNext causes autofocus to be not working at all, I think it should not be
did you try to install an other rom? with the 44s i dont have that kind of problem, but i had an other one with the focus, but totally different than yours(mine doesnt focus on very close objects all the times )
I tried cm11 nightly, now I'm on CM12. I like cm12 so far and I don't really want to switch back to 4.4
Ok nothing is fixed, I wonder why nobody else experienced the same... hardware problem??
Do anyone experience the shutter lag in the main camera application ??
With or without the hdr mode on , the camera takes nearly a second to capture the image.
I know about using other apps and setting the shutter speed manually but I prefer lg Camera app.
So does anyone know any tweak in the files or something to remove shutter lag ??

in 5.0.1 and 5.1.1 in G Flex2 this is absolutly normal...even my G3 in 5.1.1 have this "issue" and isnt lag...its the phone first save the photo and then is thumbnail is showed...this will dissapear when 6.0 come to this phone, because when i update my G3 this kind of "lag" or what you can call it dissapear from my G3 so, let's hope 6.0 realease fast!
i dont like this "lag" eighter.
Ohk , hoping to get mm atleast at the end of April !
Am on stock 7.0 on my Moto g4 plus and whenever I try opening the camera, it takes a good 3 to 4 seconds to open by which time, the thing I want to capture is gone. Any fixes for this issue please?
I am not rooted.
