So far I've got the basic A51x/A70x support added to my linux-tegra-nv-3.4 branch.
What works:
- The kernel boots
- Panel (partially?)
- USB
- Android is trying to start
Whatnot:
- everything else
So my first goal is to get display up. Currently, I've got a black screen after the bootloader logo, and the following logs:
dmesg
logcat
If anyone can help with this, hit me on hangouts, my g+ profile can be found on my xda profile. I'd appreciate any help, this would be a huge step forward for these devices.
Great work so far !
I quickly looked at your logs, there is some problem with the GPU and SurfaceFlinger can't start.
I'm not very good with Kernel specific devs, but at this point maybe you will have to upgrade hardware libs (egl, etc.).
Maybe you can try to use some Nexus 7 2012 vendor blobs : https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers#grouperktu84p

Newer ones may be needed for 3.4, dunno... also, I may have just missed something simple...
Code:
W/SurfaceFlinger( 266): no suitable EGLConfig found, trying a simpler query
F/SurfaceFlinger( 266): no suitable EGLConfig found, giving up
...
D/NvOsDebugPrintf( 270): NvRmPrivGetChipIdStub: Could not read Tegra chip id/rev
D/NvOsDebugPrintf( 270): Expected on kernels without Tegra3 support, using Tegra2
Anyways, I'm still working on 3.1, refactoring Acer's mess with the kernel files outside the kernel files... minimizing those changes will ease 3.4 development a lot, as it's confusing to watch out for Acer ifdef's all around the kernel

I don't have the device ATM, so I can't do anything related to this.
OK, received an A700 for free to work on this project and I made quite some progress; I fixed almost everything, so 3.4 is like, usable as a daily driver now. Are there any users left to enjoy it? I'm going to start official Unlegacy Android builds (4.4 and 6.0, then 7.1 later on) shortly more details will follow later. The changes include switching to slightly newer blobs for slightly better 2D/3D performance with 3.4.
Hi, great to see you back. ?
My A510 is still alive. ?
The battery is not the best anymore, but it's is always ready to test your great work.

I found the builds on Jenkins. I even ran them on my a700. If remove checks from the installer, they are flashed.
But the recovery does not work.

what checks need to be removed?
I tried flashing with twrp 2.7.1 (newest publicly available) and ctr 3.3
twrp failed at unexpected contents (I previously wiped all partitions)
and ctr auto-rebooted in the process when I wasn't looking, and it apparently failed as well.
this was using the newest "stable" 6.0.1 build

Hey fellas,
I just start to compile a CM10 rom for my own use from the source and I wish to share with you guys.
So far so good, seems everything is working fine.
Instructions..
You probably know.. but just in case..
1. Boot to recovery (MANDATORY A TOUCH RECOVERY - I strongly recommend the RaymanFX's recovery (plenty of useful features): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855686) (Thanks to RaymanFX)
2. Darkside super wipe - Thanks to him!
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Flash the rom
5. Reboot
6. Flash the GAPPS - http://goo.im/devs/Formula84/gapps-jb-20121012-4.1.2-JZO54K (Thanks to Formula84)
7. Reboot and have fun
Attention:
1. Do not install any kind of cpu manager, for now, like setCPU. Keep for now the stock frequencies. It can cause SODs and RRs.
2. When using Titanium Backup do not proceed restoration of data. It can be corrupted or even incompatible in some point to new releases. It can cause FCs.
Attention about to post a bug:
1. Before to post a bug, PLEASE, try to reproduce it at least twice.
2. Make sure that is not related to a bad and dirty flash, you can try to wipe cache and dalvik.
3. Be polite, after all, we are doing this for fun and for the pleasure of share, with no benefits at all.
4. You can contribute here with some debug methodology lol
Changelog (?!) (just a short description about what has changed in CM10 Source):
- Usual changes at the CM source. For more details http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/q/status:merged,n,z (Thanks to krazeecracker)
- More about official CM changelog http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#tf101cm10/next (Thanks to mobbarley)
- much more to come soon.. (just let me have some time to go through the kernel source code )

ATTENTION
You DON'T need to install any other kernel. Everything works fine, at least in my end
As usual, THANKS everybody involved somehow in CyanogenMod development!
Hope you enjoy as I am enjoying this awesome branch.
PS. As also usual, I don't wanna get in flame with anyone over here. So please, any issue PM and I will, promptly, try to resolve any dispute or simply remove the content. I am posting this for fun and for the pleasure to share something that has been cool for me.
Oh, and please, just note that I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards and so on.
Have fun!
Guess I'm the only one in the mood to Flash a Rom tonight... So thanks

The problem now with TF101 is to get a stable JB ROM, we have some nice nightly stuff like TeamEOS, JellyBro and RaymanFX CM10, but they're not really daily drivers, we need something like Megatron CM9, stable hi performance and battery saving ROM. And of course, kernel devs are so reaaly needed, since gevor hillness there's lot of ROMs out there but nohi powred kernels.
You said the magic word: cherries! If your way is to make a stable and smooth daily driver ROM count me in.
I have an idea to share/request: the CM10 wifi system is somewhat using an "old" scheme, maybe that could be tuned to "new"scheme, to work with Guevor CM10 kernel for instance.
Hope you continue this work, tf101 needs skilled devs.
No-name CM10.2 nightlies
NOTE: THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. CONTRIBUTIONS ARE WELCOME!
(see build setup detailed below)
With that said: Welcome to the No-name CM10.2 nightlies ROM.
Who is this ROM for?
This is a ROM for people who are so eager to try bleeding edge software that they are willing to test-drive it, all bugs included, while it is being developed.
If you value a stable daily-driver with a minimum of issues over everything else, this ROM is probably not for you. There will be bugs. CM10.2 is still in early phase of development, after all.
What's working:
Wi-Fi
GPS
Headphone
All docking stuff
CM Features
AOSP Keyboard
Bluetooth
Micro SD Card & Internal storage
Launcher
Lockscreen
Auto rotate
Camera (99%)
YouTube HD playback
Unresolved, confirmed issues
Front facing camera in Camera app (works in Skype etc)
CM Focal (OMX Codec issue)
Installation:
If coming from any non-4.3.x/CM10.2-based ROM, a factory reset is very much recommended.
Although CM does have official instructions for just upgrading from 10.1.
(0. Backup your existing ROM)
1. Download latest nightly to device.
2. Download special TF101 4.3 gapps linked below.
3. Boot into recovery. TWRP is recommended over CWM.
4. Flash ROM. (This also wipes /system and any mods you already have.)
5. Flash special TF101 Gapps.
6. Reboot.
Basically, the normal procedure for any ROM.
No-name parts with extra features can optionally be installed from market.
If you feel like donating, you can install Straitjacket which is my paid app with some extra features. Plus it might give you a warm fuzzy feeling for being a good guy.

This commit was the cause of the bionic/libc error. I got this before too, so i skipped that commit. I recommend to use my android_bionic repository, replace it with the current CM10.2.
https://github.com/TheMrcool212/android_bionic/tree/cm-10.2
For the java, i got the same version too:
Code:
[email protected]:~$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_25"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.3.10) (7u25-2.3.10-1ubuntu0.13.04.2)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode)
What's working (Tested on my own stock CM10.2 build)
Bluetooth
Dock battery & keyboard layout.
USB Dock (Only tested with pendrive) & SD Card
Micro SD Card & Internal storage
Launcher
Lockscreen
Auto rotate
Confirmed issues
AOSP Keyboard crashes on certain time, even when not using it
Camera & CM Focal
Weird window animation bug when going to home screen.
Back button doesn't work, even on keyboard (I used pie instead)
Menu button, even on keyboard too.
What's not confirm yet to be working
Wi-Fi (due to keyboard issue)
GPS (No Wi-Fi access)
The build of mine and him are just the same, since we are using the same repositories.

Google keyboard works perfectly for me using banks gapps.
@josteink Just want to tell you:
I made a branch called " tf101g-jellybean_4.3 " , based on ShevT's TF101G device tree. I've merged all of 4.3 commits from TF101 branch to the TF101G branch as well. We'll start making this ROM for 3G version as soon as the ROM for TF101 version are quite stable.

Should probably be added to FP. I'll get it done.
I know the original gapps (4.2 no-name ROM version) Google keyboard had some issues, but the newly released Google keyboard from the play store worked fully on the 4.2 no-name ROM. Not sure if there is a newer gapps which now contains that same keyboard or if it needs to be installed from the play store?

Can you confirm if wifi or GPS is working then? Will make the list on the first page easier for people to rate
And what version did you use? The 4.3 version?
I just flashed the banks' 4.3 Google Keyboard. Now i can have access to my Wi-Fi and here's the update:
Wi-Fi is working
GPS working too!
All dock functions are working when flashing the banks' Google Kayboard gapps
Back, menu and recents button are working (I'm not sure why this had been fixed, maybe due to the working keyboard)
No AOSP keyboard crashes.
New issue
YouTube doesn't play when HD is enabled, only when it's been disabled.
What's left
Camera & CM Focal
Weird window animation bug when returning to home screen.
YouTube player issue.
@josteink, I think we need to revamp the gapps, since some of the apps are not updated like the keyboard, PlayStore, Google Search etc.

Yes, only wifi droped one at restoring all the apps from Google, while loading the app store. After that no problems with wifi.

Is same as on KatKiss http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44274292&postcount=2
Using TWRP 2.3.2.3
I did a cache, and system wipe, factory reset and flashed the rom with the Banks Gapps, just the core.
Main issue: lost root privilages. Otherwise: feels already as a matured rom

You need a 180mb /system for this, you can take stuff out before you flash to reduce it, if you know what you're doing!
Depreciated unofficial build is available here: http://www.mediafire.com/?i5gw64737cf7tas
This is still all KonstaTs work, I've just synced with the latest sources so it is slightly more up to date.
Working:
Code:
Wifi
RIL (mobile network & data)
GPS
Bluetooth (& bt-tethering)
Audio (playback/input/routing/headphones/etc)
Camera (photos, camcorder & panorama)
Hardware acceleration and OpenGL rendering
Hardware video decoding & encoding
SD card
USB-storage & adb
USB-tethering
Wifi-tethering
Touchscreen/multi-touch
Sensors
LEDs
FM radio
Everything seems to work fine!

Are you gen2? Big enough /system, you need a 180mb or you will have issues. It's all fine on my device. Did you wipe data? You must wipe data if you're coming from CM7.2, also make sure you have an up to date recovery

Well tried it multiple times but fails to install, gives installation aborted message "Sdcard:Setparam error,(Status7)".
So had to reinstall yours,But before that I did some stuff which helped a bit !
I formatted the SD card to start a fresh, with nothing on the card I copied the repartition image folder and did the repartition again just to make sure its not the issue with partition or size !
Next tried the Kangs ROM and failed as mentioned above,Next tried yours and was able to successfully install the ROM,installed Gapps from Kangs (after reboot from the first boot)
Long story short,it now performs much faster and better then earlier,Don't know what was the issue earlier but its sort of sorted for now (although some lag persists, but guess have to live with it).
Thanks once again for the replies. Any guesses as to why the original one failed and not yours ??
Also can we expect FM to be operational in your next build ??
Regards.

Weird, no idea what caused all those issues, but if it's now working then awesome! I can't get FM to compile with my builds for some reason, I may be missing some patches so I'll try again tomorrow. You can just take the FM apk out of KonstaKANG zip and install it to your system, that should work. But I'll compile and upload another build tomorrow regardless of FM compiling or not. I'll add FM to my /system from KonstaKANG tomorrow and double check it works, which it should (may need some other files), if it does then I'll just copy paste the FM apk across.

Feel free to post logs / bugs here. Mainly have time to build after work on weekdays. On the weekends is when I can actually work on fixing things.
For device specific things just post the bugs / logs here. For CM specific bugs I would use JIRA and post a link to the bug here. (More helpful/useful to the CM team to make an actual JIRA bug report.)
3 WORDS: STABLE AS ****!
thanks for the rom, this will forsure be my daily driver. only little problem is the no service icon (xt1031) but data is working. soft reboot fixes it though!
Can anyone please comment on the speed of this ROM since it is Linaro based? The other 5.1 ROMs on my phone are pretty responsive, but if even more speed can be gained with our limited hardware, that will be great.
@CodyF86,
Having a problem with the download link. Rom starts downloading but does not download the whole 251mb. Only partial download. Tried about ten times but still same result. Tried with a different browser but same result.
Edit: Nevermind. Downloaded the rom from my phone and copied it from download folder on phone to internal storage.
Hello there @CodyF86 ! Thanks for you work! One little request. Do you think you will be able to add a mirror or upload your work to another claudbased storage? Like MEGA or Mediafire or AndroidFileHost or whichever you want. This one you are using is insanely unstable for me. It gets interrupted every 5 minutes. I'll be really glad if you could change it or add other(s).
Cheers.
I'll upload to Google drive starting tonight also. Driving home from work, will do another one.

Thank you very much! And sorry for bothering you with this. I really want to test your ROM since al Linaro builds seem gone from this forum. Thanks again. Drive safe

New build posted. Main link is to Google drive now.
Some more ARM assembly fun if you look under the kernel source commits.
Will fix the signal indicator so you don't have to do a soft reboot for it to work this weekend. Need to go through the soak test build.prop and compare a few other things...just need time this weekend.

Update: yes, this ROM is very fast indeed! Thanks for sharing.
This ROM is very fast! Especially for a CM ROM (which in my experience have gotten horribly slow over the last few versions) I haven't experienced nearly as many redraws, stutters, freezes or any other general unpleasantness. Good job @CodyF86

Weird, I haven't noticed that, but tbh I haven't actually payed attention to what year my phone shows / I don't even have it set up to show me I'll have to look and see if mine does it also.
Will do another one tonight / it's the weekend can play around with it get some things done now.
Will be updated soon
Issues:
Settings app: closed automatically when activate Bluetooth.
Kernel information: still appear on 3.0.101, i guess modules of MoshKernel should be updated too.
Android rebooting each 10/15 minutes.
Wifi: not working.
Code:

-I will make zImage and use as prebuilt kernel in my roms after add arch-capri drivers.

I start some tests witnout arch-capri drivers in kernel/samsung/3.4/arch/arm just to see if Android boot or not, the result was really fantastic so from today we can port 3.4 kernel without any problems.

-antutu test result about 13000 points with some fixes may get better result.
-fast booting.
-this version could be useful for android 6 when will out.

3.1.2 Kernel
-update patch like 3.0.31 -> 3.0.32 is adapted as well.
-now im apply the patch to update the code see ya.
3.1.2 in progress
I have a question dear @CoolDevelopment I manage to update the kernel of this phone from 3.0.101 to 3.1.2 using the patch of kernel.org's website.
here my questions:
-if got failed patch, should skip them in case can't found it code?
-I saw there are a lot of detected commit that already patched, should be skipped too and apply only the new code?
-is enough just downloading 3.1.2.patch and use patch -p1 method or should download kernel source too.
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/
now I'm compiling a zImage seems no errors for now, if boot I will continue the port :good:
thanks in advance
