I was about to report this as a bug but figured it probably isn't a bug. So, does camera darken for anyone else when recording 720p with HFR on?
Yep me to.

In stock camcorder has no autofocus, but if you play with lgcamera, you will find forced autofocus and it works when shooting!
The question to developers - whether in the stock camcorder to autofocus?
How can you get it to work? I can only focus before shooting

I notice the native O3D camera app does not allow tap to focus in video recording mode.
Anyone recommend to me an alternative video rec app that has tap to focus that works during a recording?

I use LGCamera for do that.

I have recently converted my HTC one m8 into a GPE version. While on stock sense my HTC could take 120 fps slow motion videos using the camera app. Now on stock Android it can't take slow motion videos because it doesn't have the HTC camera app (yes I installed it but slo mo doesn't work). I looked for a real slow motion video app on the play store but no app exist that actually lets me get that 120 fps video. Why is there a lack of true slow motion video apps out there?

Cause it's a hardware dependent app...its need powerfull processor to do slow motion +high frames job...
Use lapse it may be it works for you...

So i tried miui 10 stable and dev, however [email protected] is weird. One video is recorded in 20fps, second in 60fps, then third in 30fps. All recorded under same light conditions.
Can anyone test this and post results?
For me it seems 60fps works fine, but its way darker in low light than in 30 fps mode. Using open camera lighting is normal.

Download Media info app from Play Store and check if the recorded video is really 60fps. When I tried MIUI beta build last time, the 60fps seemed to work fine but then I checked and it was 30fps actually, it was just higher bitrate, something is messed up in the camera libs. It's 2018 and we can't have a proper 60fps video, great work Xiaomi, great.
