[Q] unable to flash Roms "solved!" - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using the Samsung Galaxy tablet 2 7 inch p1113. when trying to flash roms I am getting the error 7 message. I'm pretty sure I need an updated ClockworkMod recovery but I am not sure how to install it because I cannot connect to Odin anymore because my tablet will not turn on past the recovery. Can anyone send me a link of a recovery system that I could install from my SD card. instructions on how to go about doing it. I would really appreciate any help or advice.

No, you should end up here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358542388
Download the TWRP zip to your tab and flash it in recovery. Reboot recovery and you should have updated TWRP recovery. If this solves your question, put [SOLVED] in the title of this thread.
NOTICE: I am not responsible for what you do to your tab. Proceed at your own risk.

Fixed!
that fixed my problem I am able to install roms now! and let me start by saying thank you and your awesome. I have a couple more questions if you have time. What ROM would you suggest for a tablet with only 8 gigs of storage? Can you send me a link for the one that you think would be best for me also the link so I could get the Play Store. I really appreciate your help and I cant thank you enough I will be donating a little something something to your cause.

I don't have a donate link but thanks anyways! As far as Roms go, they are all in the development section. I would recommend SlimKat with the Slim mini Gapps (linked to in thread.) P3113 flashes the P3110 ROM. For battery life fix, flash @Android-Andi's AA-Anykernel Slim test2 and remember to flash vendor blobs right after kernel in TWRP. AA Anykernel is also in 7" Dev section.

Root gone wrong SGT 2 7.0

Hello guys,
I just got my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and wanted to mess around with it and root it. I thought I did everything correctly - it won't let me post the site I used .
However, now I am in a pickle. Whenever I start my SGT, it gets to the Samsung loading screen, does the intro tune, and then just starts all over again. I tried doing a hard reset and I tried wiping all of the cache/saved files/etc. but nothing seems to work. I am at a loss as to what I can do. Has anyone seen this before or is there a way around it? Is there anything I can do?
Much Appreciated,
Sam

I am not entirely too sure, to be honest - I wish it would be let me post the site I used haha.
I used the below ClockworkMod Recovery:
imnuts’ CWM Recovery image
I downloaded the developer nycbjr’s rooting package - cwm-root-gtab2.zip
Does that answer your question?
Kinda. Did you just want root or a custom firmware as well? I am am running the CM9 and I'm very pleased with it. :good: Not as flashy as the stock but it is a performer.

Honestly, I am not even 100% sure why I did it. I was browsing the Android Market and got some apps I liked. The issue arose when I tried using them it requested that I have root powers - I wasn't really trying to modify the os or anything like but was just looking to get root powers. If I hook up my phone to my laptop and put it into Recovery Mode and run Odin, can I PDA the CM9? Do you think that would help? Is there anyway to reset it through Odin? When I do a hard reset, literally nothing changes.
Please post the link to the root method you used. I have a hunch you tried to flash a zip for the gtab 10.1.

Yea, I can't post links in the forum yet, so... . The link above(broken up one), the android authority one, is where I found the root guide.
Can you access CWM recovery? BTW, you can post links if you uncheck "automatically parse links". Also, you don't have to email me, PM me, AND post here-- one of those will suffice.

I can access CWM recovery. However, none of the options in there seem to really do anything.
Edit: Yea, my apologies on that. I was trying to e-mail you the link and I didn't get a sent confirmation and it said I had nothing in my sent messages so I tried PMing you and the same thing happened. I'll stick to the forums so everyone can see this as it may help people, I just didn't know there was a way around the link . My bad.
It's fine. Back to work, what you call a soft bricked tab is what I call an opportunity to flash a new ROM. I'm a tab 10.1 guy so I can't recommend a specific ROM. But I've heard good things about Tab2Lite and CM9.
Sounds exactly like this problem.

I'm glad to hear there is a chance my birthday day present won't become a paper weight. I am still a little new to this stuff so I wanna make sure I am on the same page as you. The ROM that I used was cwm-root-gtab2, correct? I had to download a bunch of files and I am trying to make sense out of what is what. Now, when you said I need to get a new ROM, would that consist of me putting a new ROM on the external SD and then running that?

Basically if your tab is on the latest firmware image, you need the latest espresso file. I'm guessing that you were on 4.0.4 and the espresso file you first flashed was for 4.0.3. That happened to myself and a few other people as it's not really clear what you need in those guides!

You can download SDFormatter from here https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/ to format your Microsdcard so that TWRP can see it. Give it a try and report back.

Can't help you with Paranoid - I'm a hopeless CROMi-X fan boy myself
It's good that you are careful!
Just keep reading the relevant threads for the rom you want to flash, google and search the forum for what you don't understand and after making a reasonable effort to find an answer, ask about what's still confusing you.
CROMi-X makes it easy for a newbie since it comes with a very cool installer which walks you through the installation options. If you stick with the default selections you can't go wrong.
You can always reflash the same rom and select different options the next time. Pretty soon you're going to be an addict too
Just make sure, that you have the correct bootloader/recovery combination installed. That's the main reason people brick unrecoverable!

cwm 6.0.3.3 is out for I9505

hey all, as the title states. cwm 6.0.3.3 is now available to flash through rom manager. just flashed a few new zip's and did a backup and restore without issues. I thought I would create this topic due to the fact there are so many questions floating around about different and stable recovery's for this model. happy flashing!
Thx.
Used SGS4 Flasher to flash it.
Everything works.

Available through rom manager? Bull. I get the "blah blah unsupported blah blah" message.
Downloaded manually from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
It shows 'ClockworkMod 6.0.3.3' (after restart) and it works.
Hi,
I just bought ClockworkMod ROM Manger in the google store, simply to support the great work done.
But now I'm a little disapointed, the 6.0.3.3. supported for my I9505 is not in there, even if it is an official release (not as touch nor normal)
and
I can not find things like the cyanogen mod stuff in the ROMs area like I was used to even in the freeware for my former I9100 before.
Is the support/update within this tool so slow or even have you stopped updating the content of the ROM Manager?!
As I said I'm a bit disapointed now!
Around 5€ for that is a bit much then, isn't it?!
CWM touch you can get for free in here and the reboot to download/recovery can be set by a menue update which can be flushed.
So whats the tool then good for and worth 5€?!

You don't even need a modding to directly reboot to recovery or download mode: simply install this free app from the Google Play (root needed):

[Q] Galaxy Note 1 I717 Stock Flash won't fix boot loop

I received a Galaxy Note 1 I717 (AT&T) and it was in a bootloop. I have experience with flashing stock roms through Odin and fixing bootloops that way. So after going through recovery mode, wiping, flashing, I am still getting put into a bootloop after a successful flash on Odin. I've spent 2 days with this and tried all the little suggestions of wiping before flashing, using the original roms from XDA , trying some other stock roms specifically for my model and I'm still left with a bootloop. I'm capable of getting into download and recovery, and I've actually gotten different stock recovery modes! So the flashes are working, but it just won't boot up correctly. I looked around for the U.S. version of the Pit CSC Phone and PDA to try and re partition it, but they are absolutely NOWHERE! Any help would be greatly appreciated, whether it's a ROM suggestion, the re partition files, or whatever else.

Rom: http://goo.gl/81TamM
Gapps (important!): http://goo.gl/ws5KZF
Then follow these steps exactly:
1. Boot to recovery (CWM or whatever you use)
2. Wipe data/factory reset
3. Wipe Cache
4. Wipe Dalvik cache (advanced-> wipe dalvik cache)
5. Flash rom
7. Flash the gapps
This must work, if it doesn't, please say it, maybe I can help you further.

Status 7 means the device is incompatible, but that's impossible since we have the right ROM for your device.
OK just be sure, I'll give you another ROM and you must follow the other steps, but with the different files of course.

Can you please tell me how you came in the bootloop, did you get it with flashing a ROM or a kernel etc.?

I bought it from a friend because they had it in a boot loop. Everything on it was completely stock since they were your average user, I'm pretty sure this isn't a hardware issue either if that helps because randomly after flashing CWM one time it actually booted up and I was able to use the phone. But after rebooting, it bootlooped again :\. I haven't been able to replicate this again sadly.

HTC Desire 210 CWM Recovery

Hello Devs,
Bought an HTC Desire 210 and decided to root and install recovery on it. I rooted the phone using vRoot and followed this thread to manage a working CWM based recovery.
I do not know whether the same recovery will work on any other device but I'm more than willing to share.
Download the boot and recovery here.
I'm still learning the ways of Android and everything I did I owe the credit to the devs of XDA. Thanks you for all your support!

Hello...
i want the original stock ROM for this phone HTC Desire 210 dual sim, could you tell me the link to get it?
regards
There should be a separate forum page for HTC Desire 210, being the cheapest smartphone by HTC. Also it's a good device.
Sent from my HTC Desire 210 dual sim using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have got a simple method of rooting and installing the recovery. But I need to reply in 10 threads to be able to post it :|

I'll soon upload it, I just don't get the time. Also, there are many useless apps in the Stock ROM, which make the whole backup quite (well very) large in size.

I have been experiencing some problems lately and there are many other issues that have taken over my time. But I am trying my best to take out time for this device.
Also the internal memory size is huge, so the Stock ROM might take up a GB.
