[Q] [Question] Why Development for Nexus S Roms is not a lot?

I bought the Nexus S expecting a heck lot of flavors for ROMs, with various Flavors for different personal taste.
What I found was the complete opposite, few ROMs, few tastes.
all roms use either Cynagon or AOSP, I have few information about Cynagon Mod, but have no info about AOSP, no one seems to be like me, so i didn't ask.
My Question is simple: why is it like this?

This has been discussed before.

Sure has. The Nexus series isn't for the usual crowd. So, there won't be the usual roms and so on.

Are the sale apps staying bought after change Rom?

Tried loading one of the apps I bought onto my kindle. Showed I had to buy again full price. I like the Rom I'm on now, but may change and worried I will not be able to access these apps again.

Get the Motorola Defy. It's fairly easy to root, overclock, undervolt, and flash. Though the bootloader is unlockable it doesn't have much hindrance. Or you can get the HTC nexus one.

The N4 is awesome. It is also like 350 bucks off contract. Don't get the 8 gig. Get the 16.

Leave nexus for HTC M8

Now that we get dual booting and Google play edition phones. Based on rumors of the new HTC One. Would it be wise to sell my N5 and go to the new One? If waterproof. I think I will have to. Always been a dream to have HTC and Vanilla.

I think you just answered your own question
The Google play edition HTC and Sammy phones look vanilla but aren't. They still have proprietary frameworks so don't expect the fact they have GPE to mean AOSP development will be any better

Oh really. I didn't wanna here that. I like my options open to run whatever I want with lots of development.

Honestly coming from a Droid 3 I love the amount of development on this device even though I am still on the stock ROM. Nexus devices the rest of the way please.

I just wanna know how good the aosp development is for HTC one. Always wanted a hyc stock phone. How could it get any better.

Read the aosp roms threads in the current HTC one forum

It's never "wise" to buy a brand new phone 5 months after the last one came out. However it's your money, spend in on what you want. Just don't expect members of one phones forum to recommend another phone.

You will have to sell 2 nexuses actually.
imo, the the new HTC ONE seems like going where SONY Xperia z2 and SGS5 went that LG didn't go.
I mean too big body in proportion to the screen size.

It's more than 5 months old fyi - 19th Feb 2013 to be exact..
----------------------------------
I used to use MoDaCo on my old HTC One which (I then swapped for the Note 3 (still have it) and I have an N5 now), had the option of flicking between Sense and GPE - It worked, but as posted further up development isn't that great for the One.
Amen on the price. And not worried about size. My N5 is big with a ballistics SG maxx case.

Just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. I would like to have the speakers and camera of a new phone. And a few other little things.

Hi Guys,
