Hi, I've installed the mskip UAT and seem to have managed to do the full backup. When I click to restore I can see the .bak file listed in the UAT interface. I thought the backup would be visible on my PC but I can't see it.
I don't want to restore the .bak in case it is empty or corrupted and I lose everything. How can I prove the backup.
I have a stock Galaxy SIII GT 19300 and and the adb and other drivers were installed OK.
If I'm missing any details that will help answer this please get let me know. Not quite a rookie but a nervous android modder.

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S II since about a week. It is rooted and Titanium Backup (paid version) is installed.
When I deleted an app I didn't want to keep I accidentally deleted the wrong one, something called BadgeProvider. Alas, I have found out that this system app makes it possible to send SMS (maybe more problems that I haven't found out yet) Without it, I can't .
I have tried to reinstall it from Titanium but that doesn't work. I have found the BadgeProvider.apk file on the Internet and trid to install it with several app installers but that doesn't work either.
I do need to send and receive SMS. How do I get a functional smartphone again?
I do badly need help
Thanks
Well, I would recommend you move the Titanium Backup File onto different storage, than factory reset the phone. If you've only had it a week I don't imagine you are going to lose too much, especially if you are already backed up. May take a little bit to re-root and restore and everything but, it's better than trial and error/waiting for a specific solution.
hello, thankyou in advance for your help. im running synergy rom on my verizon s3. First custom Rom, and first time unlocking my phone so im really new to this. anyway i made a backup using clockwork mod of my stock rom and all its settings using cwm recovery and saved it to my computer. i also made a backup of this synergy rom. i was trying to put the backup of synergy onto my computer however it always gets stuck at "calculating time to complete" or something similar. i noticed (while comparing my synergy backup to my stock) that my old stock backup only has clockworkmod>backup>stockrom but no blobs. my new backup gets stuck at copying the blobs(i tried everyfolder individually to see what the problem was), i can copy the backup folder fine. is this my computer or is there something else i should of done to make a complete copy of cwm backup Rom(programs needed, ect.?). i read on some forum that you needed some shell script but i didnt find that on here which i trust more than the other site. my other question is what would happen if i did do a recovery in cwm of my original stock rom without my blobs?
thankyou and any help is appreciated.
If I am not mistaken the blob saves all the information needed for the backup....then each individual backup saves any changes that have been made so in short it would not work without the blob its needed

Thankyou, i just needed to wait and the estimate time thing went away. its weird i dont know why the blobs didn't save the first time. this time they did after lk 10 mins of letting it run and another 20 to copy but thankyou for your help im not gunna risk bricking now the phone to half a rom. just one thing i did do a titanium backup of every original thing as well as a lookout security backup(good thing)..the only thing i really need from the original was my calendar and my to do list(bunch of doctors appointments and birthdays and anniversaries lol). is there anyway to restore those from titanium or lookout even?. im afraid to do a complete restore from titanium, (i didn't do it in the beggining i just set everything up manually), as im worried data from the same app of this rom and the last will interfere with each other.
If you're using the Google calander it should sync
I got a replacement GS3 from Verizon because my current one had a charge port issue. I rooted and am using CWM 6.0.2.3 and get "error while restoring /system" when I try tp restore the nandroid of my old phone to the new one. How do I fix this?
Did you change the name of the nandroid at all? It's also possible that the backup you made contained individual phone information specific to your old phone...I seem to remember a thread before that mentioned it wasn't a good idea to move a nandroid to a new Samsung phone.
Edit: I found the thread shortly after hitting submit - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795031

there are a couple of apps where you can just extract the nandroid apps on the play store, but if you want the full restore, the file is probably corrupted.

Yeah I used to use titanium backup but my phone is very customized, CM10, diff kernel, and a very highly customized home screen so I'd rather restore the nandroid if there is some kind of workaround. I also want all my data, texts, etc. without using titanium backup. When I used ti backup in the past, I had a bunch of different issues restoring apps and data, force closes, etc.

I followed the directions in the last post of that thread.. I made a backup of the new phone, moved the old nandroid from old phone to the twrp back up folder in my new phone. I copied the new backup name and deleted the new backup. i pasted the name into the old back up, I tried to restore and i get an error "no partitions selected for restore. Is it because Im using twrp and I made the old backup with CWM?
Someone help!

That could be it. They back up with different formats. Cwm uses the blob folder twrp does not.

Hello, I need to send my device to Samsung for checking about those problems I have posted. As far as I recall, Keis does not back up things that I wrote in Action Memo and S Note. Is there a way to do it? My device is not rooted.
Few months ago, some users mentioned that I need to root my device in order to be able to use software that would allow a full backup and recovery. Does it still hold true?
Thanks.

For full A-to-Z backup of everything yes root and an nandroid backup using TWRP is the only way. Supplement that with Titanium Backup and you're covered with a full device image (the nandroid backup) and individual app/data backups for partial restores.
To answer your question about notes, sync them with Evernote. Then log into Evernote on a computer to verify they are there.

Hi there,
I am upgrading my phone from a Samsung s5 to the new s7 edge. The app I want to have data backed up is neko atsume.
So I installed helium as per instructions and commenced the backup - successful. I then proceeded to restore it on my s7e, but helium doesn't show any available backup.
Still trying to keep it to simple processes, I tried to reverse the process and installed neko atsume on the s7e, and proceeded to do a backup there.
I found that when helium backed the app up on the s5, it produced a .json file in the carbon folder. However, when it was backed up from the s7e, it produced a .ab file.
I'm guessing incompatibility is the problem, and am wondering if there's any way around it - either file conversion or smth.
Help and advice needed please.
