Transferring app data from s5 to s7 using helium - Android Apps and Games

Hi there,
I am upgrading my phone from a Samsung s5 to the new s7 edge. The app I want to have data backed up is neko atsume.
So I installed helium as per instructions and commenced the backup - successful. I then proceeded to restore it on my s7e, but helium doesn't show any available backup.
Still trying to keep it to simple processes, I tried to reverse the process and installed neko atsume on the s7e, and proceeded to do a backup there.
I found that when helium backed the app up on the s5, it produced a .json file in the carbon folder. However, when it was backed up from the s7e, it produced a .ab file.
I'm guessing incompatibility is the problem, and am wondering if there's any way around it - either file conversion or smth.
Help and advice needed please.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S II since about a week. It is rooted and Titanium Backup (paid version) is installed.
When I deleted an app I didn't want to keep I accidentally deleted the wrong one, something called BadgeProvider. Alas, I have found out that this system app makes it possible to send SMS (maybe more problems that I haven't found out yet) Without it, I can't .
I have tried to reinstall it from Titanium but that doesn't work. I have found the BadgeProvider.apk file on the Internet and trid to install it with several app installers but that doesn't work either.
I do need to send and receive SMS. How do I get a functional smartphone again?
I do badly need help
Thanks
Well, I would recommend you move the Titanium Backup File onto different storage, than factory reset the phone. If you've only had it a week I don't imagine you are going to lose too much, especially if you are already backed up. May take a little bit to re-root and restore and everything but, it's better than trial and error/waiting for a specific solution.

[Q] Titanium Backup - dropbox back up

Hi,
recently purchased the titanium backup pro.
I have 2 android devices that are using it
samsung tab s and a S6.
I noticed that both devices upload to the dropbox in a single location - dropbox/TitaniumBackup.
Will it cause any issues of files being overwritten as there will definitely be some overlapping apps that i got for both devices.
Or will the file name be individualized so that will not be any problems when i restore back ups.
Another thing is, i usually do a manual restoration of my backup to the sdcard , now that both backups are in a single location, how can i "correctly" seperate them so i can transfer the correct one back to my device?
Or is there a feature within titaniumbackup that im not knowing, which can help to directly restore the backup from the dropbox location?
Btw, im upgrading my Samsung Tab S OS kitkat to lollipop.
will my data backup be still valid for usuage?

Correct order to restore S6 from different types of backups

Hi
I'll be updating to 5.1.1 later and wondered what the best way to restore my S6 (SM-G920F). I'll be backing up different ways where each backup does it slightly differently.
I have
1. Samsung backup set up via the backup/restore options
2. Google sync via accounts and backup via backup/restore options
3. Helium backup "carbon" folder copied to my PC
Which is the best to restore from?
Is there a certain order i should do it?
Can i ignore any of the options listed above? I only ask this as Helium is denied backup to certain apps e.g. WhatsApp etc.
Thanks
The first 2 options are what I use for backup. I tried Helium in the past on another non rooted phone, but it wasn't up to my expectations.
I'm assuming that you're not rooted, otherwise nothing compares to Titanium Backup.
BTW, just upgrading using Odin will not touch your data, so you should be fine.
Also check the app itself, it can have an option to backup.
Good luck with your upgrade

I can't move app data from S4 to S7 (tried Smart Switch, Helium and Google backup)

I have an S4 that's rooted and running AMBASADII and an S7 that's stock. I would like to move my app data over and more or less clone my S4 onto my S7. Many apps just need you to log again and they'll be the same on the S7 as they were on the S4, eg Gmail. But some, of course, need the data to be moved over. I've failed spectacularly (each time factory resetting and starting afresh). Here's what I've tried:
Google backup: no app data moved to S7, just the newly installed apps
Smart Switch: claims there's no app data so "applications excluded from the backup"
Helium: managed to restore an handful of apps' data but mainly failed; kept wanting to do a full backup when I selected restore and failed repeatedly saying that it has sent a bug report
I suspect that the issue may be due to my custom ROM.
Can you suggest any way to move to the S7 that preserves more of my S4's app data?
I realise I could root and use TiBu but I would like to be stock on this phone.
Thx

You should try rooting and using Titanium Backup. There is a reason why it is the most common and easiest method. Because it usually works, more so than other methods.
When it comes to backing up data in one ROM/device and restoring it in another ROM/device, not all of it can be restored without causing issues, even with full root access.

[HELP] Titanium Backup Can't Restore between ROM

Rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Exynos version user.
Previously I was using hadesROM and yesterday I have switched to DeluxeROM. Before that, I have backup everything via Titanium Backup.
After I have changed to DeluxeROM, I tried to restore the "App+Data" (NOTE: None of it is the system app). It keeps on loading but never restores any of the apps.
I tried to restore only "App" too but it failed to install the apk.
Seeking for guidance and advice. Your help will be much appreciated.
