[App] Wifi Inspector - Know how is connected!! ( more than 100.000 active installs ) - Android Apps and Games

Do you want to know if someone is connected to your wireless network without your permission? Your connection is slow and you suspect that someone are stealing your wifi? Are you afraid that the neighbor may have access to your personal data?
Wifi Inspector is a simple tool to see all the devices connected to our network (both wired and wifi, whether consoles, TVs, pcs, tablets, phones etc ...), giving relevant data such as IP address, manufacturer, device name and MacAddress.
Wifi Inspector also allows to save a list of known devices with custom name and find intruders in less than 30 seconds. This makes it easier for us and you will not need to go checking the data whenever we make a scan.
All this in a clear and simple design that allows us to see that our personal data are safe in a few seconds.
No doubt, Wifi Ispector ALWAYS find ALL connected devices!!
We continue working to improve Wifi Inspector and we greatly appreciate that you share your opinions whether positive or negative. We have almost no reports of problems in the poor ratings (only one star with no comment) This makes difficult that we can improve the application. Please if you have any problems / suggestions do not hesitate to send it to us, in your comment or with email, and we will try to fix it.

Very Interesting Concept however it failed to work. Did not detect my nexus 7 2013. Only found the router and my device. (Moto G)
Netgear router.. wifi passworded protected (possibly WPA2).
And interstitial ads on exit first time i've seen that.

Hi hotspot_volcano,
In some cases a device close de wifi in suspended state or is time out response caused by a low connection quality. We tested in few big nets with more than 100 devices with no errors.
Have you tested Wifi Inspector from the Nexus with same results? and in other wifi?
Thanks for your comment

Well on the nexus 7 2013 (rooted) I was able to find the connected wired device as well as my phone. (found 6 devices)
They are marked with an cross whatever that means?
Tried it again on my Moto G (stock) and it still shows only 2 devices.
And the wifi router is problematic sometimes its hard to connect to it but once a device is connected its good 90% of the time.

The result on your Moto G : Wifi Inspector reset the wifi connection at start, then if fails to reconnect or reconnected in more than 30 seconds may not locate all devices. Try scan with other router, i think your get good results.
A device with a cross means that is not in the "safe list" (known devices). You can add your known devices on the "device screen" and, if you want, can set a customized name. For the next scans you will see all known devices with a "V" mark and with the customized name.

I tried it out, looks promising. I compared the reported attached devices from my Netgear WNDR3700v2 router with Netgear Genie. Everything matches up, nice job!
The UI is fairly pleasant, but does not adhere to current Android design guidelines. You've got the option to delete known devices list hidden in the legacy menu. My device does not have that by default, however I add it with GravityBox specifically for older apps that still have it. Folks with devices that do not have hardware / software menu button will never discover that option. If you add the 3 dot menu in the upper right for it, that would work well for now. If you decide to add more things, you could also add it there or create a hamburger menu in the upper left.
I haven't found any bugs to report thus far, that's always a good sign. Keep it up!
As I mentioned in my Play Store review: Those that think this can ban unknown users must realize you can't do that from your stock router firmware to begin with, how could a simple app do that?

The application seems ok, but compared to Fing network tools, this doesn't bring anything to the table, and it has ads. So, nice work but it offers not much.

First of all, thanks so much for your comment.
About the hidden option "reset known device list", the true is that we are thinking about if it's really helpful or not, but is probably that we will change it on the next update.

Hi rbrandser , Fing is an excellent application, but exists many types of user and we think Fing is oriented for some and Wifi Inspector for others, ie, anyone can click and see if have or not intruders, but not everyone knows how to do a 'wake on lan "or even know what it is.
We have prioritized scanning reliability, simplicity and finally the design (in this order).
We understand that for many users with experience and knowledge Wifi Inspector may be "short", but for the rest, we offer an easy, visual and 100% reliable in the scan result application.
We will greatly appreciate that you share your opinion.

Can this app stop connection of the device ?

Good app, but I don't like the interface and it lacks a lot features, which similar apps like Dsploit and Fing do have. So for me there is no reason to use this.

No it can't

As far as I can see it's only able to tell you what devices are connected to your network and their MAC address. While it works like a charm in that department having a few more options, I must admit, would have been nice.

Using the app causes my phone to disconnect from WiFi, so not much use! (S4). Had to uninstall...

Good app,it works fine

Good app but the ads are annoying and I dont like the interface

Hi wouter-visser,
We tested Fing and Wifi Inspector in various scenarios and the general differences that are appreciated:
- Usually Inspector Wifi is faster in large networks with many devices.
- Usually Fing is faster on small networks with few devices.
- Wifi Inspector finds more device names (very important for intrusion detection)
- The reliability of scanning is very close to 100% in both (a bad coverage or occasional factor can make a device undetectable)
- Fing has more features (not required for intrusion detection)
- The Inspector Wifi interface is minimalist and fing is more professional.
We understand that wifi inspector is not for everyone, but we think that many people are grateful that can check if they have an intruder with a simple but accurate application.
We will greatly appreciate that you share your opinion.

We are a small software company and recently we have begun to develop applications for mobile devices. The ads are the way we get some benefits to further develop and improve our applications. We did not use intrusive advertising and we never will use it. Also is available the pro version (ad free) for people who want to support us.
Thank you for sharing your opinion is important for us.

I think you can use WifiKill for this (if you have android rooted) or Netcut for windows.
For security find the Mcc address of the intruder and ban him from the MAC address filter in the router.

Not 100% effective btw, a person with a little knowledge and some googling can easily spoof a MAC address. A better option would be to change/add a wifi password. Preferrably WPA or WPA2 with a nice long passphrase.

No issues here, worked well in a small network with 6 connected devices (and recognized all).
If you need help to translate to Portuguese-BR, let me know.
Thanks.

Hello Dutty,
Don't quite understand what this is used for, could you provide a bit more information. I downloaded and it advised it cannot find a cell, what cell is it looking for???
maybe it's only working on XDA2, the beta test just started..
it's like mini-gps for the S60, it uses the cell your mobile phone is logged into to create profiles (with volume, app to execute etc.) which will get automatically executed once you log into a cell.
miniGPS is a powerful tool to locate yourself in the GSM network. Its main goal is to perform defined actions based on your location taken from your network. It also shows the details of the network cell, to which your phone is logged in at the moment. At the current stage, due to some problems in SE firmware the program shows only cell id, but it seems to be good enough for performing events.

it's the first application on the xda that allows something like this if i'm right.
changelog:
+possiblity to execute a wav file, simply select wave file *.wav in the filedialog
+signal strength of cell visible in cell info dialog
+sending only one command at every intervall.
PUBLIC BETA 1.0
interesting software, i like it!
useful for day to day operations, leaving my GPS in my car
how much do you intend to sell it for?
This program sounds good mate.
If I understand this correctly I can basically set a profile for say the cell I would be connected to when I'm at work? so that the phone automatically goes to vibrate mode or something ?
I will give this a try when I get home.
Cheers
Neil
Great Program
Great program, worked perfectly on my XDAII in Ireland.
A couple of suggestions for future version that you might consider...
The ability to bind multiple cells to a single profile. While in my house my phone picks up 3 different cells depending on where in the house I am. If I could just have a single profile called home and then add cells to that it would be nice.
Create a Today Screen plugin to display the current profile/cell. I have software that runs in the icon bar at the top and the PP icon causes conflicts with this software.
Can't wait to see the final version of this, it's shaping up very well.
I can't get it working on my XDA 1 (AT&T A30.09 Rom) I am told no cell information available then after 60 seconds it gives an error message stating "Failed to set IoControl" if I OK that error then it throws up back up every 60 seconds when it scans.
If you want someone to test developments on the XDA1 I am more than willing to help out..
Cheers
Neil
probably it won't work on the XDA1 for now, i'll have to finish version 1.0 and then, if it's not working on XDA i'm going to find out why(are you running wm2k3 or ppc2002)
it should work on all xda2 so far it worked on all devices in the german ppc-welt community forums. can you give more informations about your device, what errors etc?
what kind of price would be ok? minigps is beeing sold for 20$ i think, but that's a little bit too much for a ppc software

yes this idea has already been suggested and i'm going to work on it tonight if i have free time!
i'll also add the ability to turn off the notifications popping up automatically.
Hi Dutty,
Hopefully you can get this working on XDA1 because its a great idea.
I'm running WM2003 on my XDA, the only error message I receive is the one posted earlier..
As i said, if you want anyone to test on XDA1 or provide any info just let me know.
Cheers

once i will release the official version, it contains logging options and stuff like that, we can go on with the xda1 testing!
in the meantime, enjoy this logfile from today
+added logging capabilities to control the network responses
+added 'assign group' dialog ( added possibility of assigning groups.. if you switch from one cell
to another and it's the same group, then there is no notify bubble displayed )

-added 'delete group'
-added 'assign group'

or it could remind you with a note you've recorded that you have to do XXX once you enter your homezone )
+signal strength of cell visible in cell info dialog
+one command after init
+sending only one command at every intervall.
PUBLIC BETA 1.0 ----
notes:
if you switch to a new cell and both cell profiles got the same group then there will be no
notification (no icon AND no textbubble)
you can get the signal strength in the cell information dialog
don't enable the logfile if you don't need it, it could grow to the size of 1GB
if you disable popup notification then there will only be an icon displayed if you switch cell/group
if you're in hidden mode to get back into the options of the programm, just execute it again while it's running

Excellent idea! Seems pretty robust too for a beta. Well done.
Humble suggestion... Please see my post at

Zendrui has achieved a lot in the profile management area and perhaps you can work with him to combine the great new functionality into his product rather than re-inventing the wheel or should I say, profile ...
qtzar said : "Create a Today Screen plugin to display the current profile/cell. I have software that runs in the icon bar at the top and the PP icon causes conflicts with this software. "
Can you provide an alternative to go at the bottom right hand side of the screen, next to the BT indicator? This may be a good option for people with busy Today screens too.
I was looking at the miniGPS site. Taking the idea from them, sending SMSses from your product would be cool too. Also note you only generate alerts, actions on login. It would also be good to have the option to attibute actions / alerts to logouts.
During the beta phase can you also enable the ability for the user to update the cell info on all cells? It is very hard to test the product where you can only manipulate the first record. Suggest you change to a time based trial mechanism rather than the one record manageability option you have now. Just a humbe "consumer" opinion.
Last but not least, It would be great to be able to stop scanning for new cells but continue to detect login/logouts at the knowns (in database) cells. Example : after you train the application, you have all cells of interest in your database. In the current form the application keeps on recording all cells thats you pass through. After a month in a big city I presume I would have a huge list...
All in all, great job ! Best Regards
Installed it tonight at my xda I device, and it looks running fine.
Played a little bit and found that the tool is very interesting.
I also got some ideas to enhance the tool.
Wouldn't it be better that you can disable the Option "finding a new cell" and get instead a learning mode?
If you use the xda in your car, you get a lot of messages concernig a new cell. And all the time, all the volumes are set to 100%.
Maybe it will also be interesting to set the default values. In my case for example, the telephone volume is always much higher than the normal volume...
HTH
Stefan
PS: Would be nice, if there will be a "low cost edition" for including it into the kitchen....
i will make it opensource after i got some little profit, i'm living a hard life as a student, coding in freetime is bad, i should go working in freetime
great idea this learning mode, but it's already been implemented like this:
go into the system options, select hide popup notifications..
if it detects a cell then it won't display any popup, just an icon on the top, clicking on it will remove it. to go back into the programmoptions restart the programm
btw, if it detects a new cell it won't set any profile.. maybe i will make the default profile = no profile, it will not set anything until you've set the profile correctly!

i think logouts are not important, since there are soo many cells and you can have an own profile for each cell.. one event per cell change is enough!
sending SMS is good, but what's the use? telling somebody that you're waiting for him? okay, sounds nice but that's not that important too. maybe i will do it for 1.0, maybe for 1.1

hey stefan, could you give more details about your XDA1 maybe you can compare settings and installed tools with the other XDA1 device so we can figure out what stops it from working on the other machine.

Hi dutty. Thanks for your prompt response. Logout action is good against theft or accidentally forgetting the phone in the cab... Once the phone moves out of your regular circle of cells you get an SMS on an alternate number. This reminds me. Adding a cluster of cells into a cell family seems to be a must. Someone else mentioned this already. I now have 24 cells picked up between my home & office. In my room at the office I got 5 different cells picked up at different times... I am imagining I would create a Home family, one for Office, one for Malls etc that I frequent and then anything else would stay unknown. When you have a new unknown you would have the darg & drop option to throw it into an existing family. Setting profile (sound, alert and executable etc) by family rather than cell would be awesome as well since right now we have to do it for each & every cell. Does this make sense?
Last but not least, I tried to attach an executable to a cell and notice that the file browse box only shows me My Documents folder. How can I navigate to the Program Files folder?
Have a great weekend!!!
sadly you can't. it's a microsoft limitation...
the filedialog box only shows my documents and storage card. and i'm a student i can't invest so much time to develop a new file searching method - and i haven't got money to buy a license for those filebrowsers that search for everything.
so if you want to start programms you should have them on the storage card, but that solution is ok to me.
oh yeah here is the latest changelog, 1.0 seems finished if there won't show up any bugs or stuff like that.
Code:
+added about box
+added logo to mainscreen
+improved main screen, show more information - including groupname

this is good if you're living in a big city and you already got all your cells in the database
enabling it will not add any cells to the database AND it will never display the 'we found a cell' popup suggested by lumpistefan
+added the ability to 'delete cell' to cell options

Android Tablet in car (bmw)

In the near future once an android tablet comes out that has GPS and dosnt cost me an arm and a leg i will be intergrating it into my bmw.
Since many tablets have usb host and on the web i can purchanse an ibus to usb adapter which people use when they make a car pc would this work with an android tablet? to control volume tracks and maybe even voice control/calls etc.
Does anyone know if anyone is working on the android software which would allow the tablet to recognise the ibus signal? this would be purfect for me.
Can anyone help?
I doubt that you'll get a helping answer soon, because there are not many people knowing about the IBUS.
For people who don't know what the IBUS is: It's a communcation bus used by BMW for controlling most of the cars electronics (light, radio, navigation system, electric window, ...). There are adapters for controlling all these things with a PC, so it should be possible to do this with an Android App.
But I'm affraid that there is none available at present. Also I think the app is not the only trouble: You'll need a working driver for your adapter, too.

Galaxy Tab. Since you have a Beamer I'm going to assume that you have some spare cash, the Galaxy Tab should have GPS, and I'm sure someone will make a car mount for it, or you could be the first .
If you havent gone to mp3car.com go there and check it out, ill be doing the same thing in my e36 pretty soon, although i have an external touch screen im going to try and link my g2 to

Does anyone know if anyone is working on the android software which would allow the tablet to recognise the ibus signal? this would be purfect for me.

old post, but i might be on the same wavelength as you, except with some changes.
android tablets will already do most everything you need, so my plan will be to ditch the head unit all together. in the spirit of the carPC and liliput touchscreens, my goal is to come up with a custom docking unity in the space of a double-din (which means i'll be required to use a 7 or 5in tablet). from there, the rest is relatively easy... or complicated.
the problem, so far, is i've yet to see any android tablets with a way to extract audio without using a headphone jack. so creating a docking station will be difficult in the sense of attempting to attach the audio.
so a couple things have been going through my mind;
1. you won't have to worry about power saving as much as a carPC. the tablet will be mostly safe to run off of the USB power (hooked directly to a 12v source) or maybe through a power inverter. removing the battery would eliminate concerns of dead battery, exploding battery from heat, etc., etc.
2. most built in FM tuners require the headphones to be attached to act as an attenna. can't be that hard to engineer the headphone component to work back into the car's radio antenna, it's just a matter if there's any benefit to be gained.
3. speaking of audio, once it's out of the device, it's just a matter of conditioning and amplifying the signal, which is all proven technology.
4. there's a huge probability that i'll skip an "in service" device in favor or a wifi only one, and then use tethering from my phone. still to be decided. i'd hate to add another cell line to my already high bill.
5. most, if not all, of the tablets will have some sort of hdmi out capability. attaching the device to external displays should be easy as pie. unfortunately, everyone will probably see what is on the main display, which may not be a problem. what might be a problem is accessing and using an SD card (of any size) to store movies, mp3s, etc. you're only so limited and it might be a little bit of a pita.
anyway, these were just some of my ideas. i know the interest is out there. the "dock" is going to be a little tricky. the tablet needs to be instantly accessible (easily removed), yet secure. i suppose you could fabricate something to where the audio cable is loose enough that you could attach it before docking.

are you talking about the android-driven HUs about to be released? from my understanding, they're just utilizing it as a core OS and not in the format you're used to on a phone, etc. similar to how Ford/BMW uses MS in their systems. i don't believe it'll have access to the market, which is a negative IMO.
the HUs might be sweet, in relation to what's available, but unless it's a dedicated tablet, i doubt you'll get the functionality you'd want to expect out of Android.
If you had a phone with usb host (OTG) then i would think we could just connect a MIMO Touchscreen monitor to it and use the released drivers for it and then we would all have what we want . here is some of what i have found that might help . Lets make this happen !!!!

I'll bring this thread back to say that I have. Its an ongoing project but heres what I have so far:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBdQnFnXtgQ
any updated progress I have a 2007 335i and would be interested in getting a setup like this
Right now I'm working on making sure all of the commands work. Progress is slow since Java really isn't the best language for manipulating individual bytes (although that could also be my lack of experience). Unfortunately if you have a 335i, none of this will help you. I think all of the current generation of BMW's (those with iDrive) and most european cars for that matter use the MOST bus. This is based on a fiber optic physical layer. The supported transfer rates are in the 100's of MHz so you'd need more than a microcontroller to talk to it. That being said, if anyone wants to fund me for a couple weeks and lend me their iDrive equipped BMW, I'd be happy to crank something out

Hi TunaCanyon,
good to hear, that some other people are engaged with this topic.
I built a IBUS Bluetooth gateway half a year ago, last weekend I used to make the circuit look a bit more "professional"
I already built some piece of software based on the Bluetooth SPP example ("Bluetooth Chat") of Android SDK. It features logging ibus data (including simple packet recognition) and sending data to the ibus (with automatic checksum and length calculation). I just added CD changer emulation.
As I'm not experienced with Android programming and also didn't start with Java long ago, building a clean and working app is pretty hard for me, especially when it comes to services and threads... So after the easy datasheet reading and circuit routing part now the hard part follows.
Greetings,
kadolf

[APP][ROOT] DroidSniff - Meet the little brother of DroidSheep - v1.0.0 Build 16

DroidSniff is an Android app for Security analysis in wireless networks and capturing facebook, twitter, linkedin and other accounts.
DroidSniff requires ROOT!
Please note:
DroidSniff was developed as a tool for testing the security of your accounts.
This software is neither made for using it in public networks, nor for hijacking any other persons account.
It should only demonstrate the poor security properties network connections without encryption have.
So do not get DroidSniff to harm anybody or use it in order to gain unauthorized access to any account you do not own! Use this software only for analyzing your own security!
Source Code : https://github.com/Evozi/DroidSniff
Please fork and support this project.
This app is based on DroidSheep licence under GPL v3 licence.

That looks great. I hope you release the source code for it too.
Here is my modded version. As you see I've updated to UI for it and removed unnecessary code. The icon you are using looks great, the DroidSheep icon is so ugly so I removed it, even the Android default icon is more beautiful. Instead of using WebKit I use the default browser (Chrome) cause it's much more faster and easier to navigate on. I really like the bottom bar in your browser, looks great. For me Google isn't working cause it NEVER wants to use non-SSL.
Something that would be great is support for SSLStrip. FaceNiff has it but it costs money. I've been trying to get it working by using APK Manager & dex2jar/JD-GUI without any success. The C/C++ files aren't included in the apk.
I've been trying to change the name from DroidSheep but I had so many problems so I just skipped it. It's easy to change the name in the GUI but going through all source files and replacing everything is a bit harder.
The app is a little buggy cause sometmies it captures the logins but not every time. I'm going to investigate the included C/C++ files and see if there are any filters and how everything works.

Thanks for your reply, I think I will try work on the SSLStrip and add DroidSniff the ability to target a specific IP address.
Nice you implemented it to use the default browser (Chrome) Gonna figure out how to do that when i'm free.
Yea, need to disable the SSL so that we can get the Google cookies. On my computer Google.com loads without SSL but with my laptop it automatically use SSL.
Changing the name is quite easy.

Dang my phone was off and this post made me turn it on and then..no link. -_-
Great job though, looks a lot better than Droid SHEEP
This is great, I have used droidsheep and facesniff for my job and now facesniff does not work with 4.x and droidsheep has some leaks and is never updated anymore also the latest source wont compile without some tweaks and messing about.
Looking forward to your app. If you make a donate version I will gladly donate to support further development and no ads
SSL strip implementation would be useful as I have compiled SSLStrip for android but it crashes often, if you figure out how to get it stable then good on ya!
thanks!
The most important feature is definitely SSL support. Just Google "SSLStrip-for-Android" and you will find the source code for it running on Android. It shouldn't be hard to implement cause DroidSheep is based on Arpspoof which is also included in this project. There is also an app you can test on Google Play but it seems to only work with USB tethering from your phone to PC.
Using the default browser is much faster. Here is how you do it:
str1 stands for the url (eg; facebook.com)
str2 stands for the cookies content (eg; for facebook you have to use the "c_user" cookie, dont have any clue why DroidSheep is also using the datr, lu, and xs cookies, it just makes it slower to initialize cookies)
Code:
Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW);
i.setData(Uri.parse("http://" + str1 + ":8080/" + str1 + "@" + str2));
startActivity(i);
Here is the de-compiled version of FaceNiff. Nothing new here, the "faceniff" which contains the SSLStrip library is already compiled and the sources for it is not included in the project.
http://www.media fire.com/?e5xsan45cefe4fy (i have to low posts for links)
Here is the version of SSLStrip I built from the latest source, minimal changes (better icon n stuff)
http://www.filedropper.com/sslstripforandroid101
+1000 SSL strip is important, facebook and twitter now requires https login. Without ssl strip this app would be obsolete for facebook, twitter penetration.
For any of those who can wait for this app, you may also want to check out a similar app known as FaceNiff.
Have Fun!

So you don't think we know what FaceNiff is? It costs money that's the only bad thing and DroidSheep is free and open source but without support for SSLStrip.
nice i like it
it will be amazing when u add
1-sslstrip with auto save (user + password)
2- open sniffed profiles in the stock browser
3-screenshot to sniffed profile
4-auto save cookies
and this can help u
http://comax.fr/yamas/bt5/yamas.sh
The script I posted on the first page was taken from FaceNiff and after some research it seems like it's forwarding all traffic to port 8080 where it's doing the SSL spoofing and enables opening sessions in the default browser (running through the proxy server). When you click on a profile in FaceNiff it will open "http://facebook.com:8080/[email protected]_IDENTIFIER" and the binary will return a response which will set the cookies and rederict the user to the normal Facebook website. It was working when I tested it but then I realized the FaceNiff app was running on my Android, I stopped it and it didnt work anymore.
As fatcobrah said most important is SSLStrip as most websites are forcing users to use SSL and open profiles in the default browser cause it's much easier to navigate in, you can zoom in/out and it has a very fast Javascript engine (at least in Chrome). Improved filters to capture more websites would also be great and grabbing the users Facebook picture like in FaceNiff is also very useful.
Also found this string inside the faceniff binary "all your passwords are belong to Us!.
btw ARP-spoofing is kinda slow. i mean, having your cellphone work as an "inbetween" router dramatically slows down the connection. i've hacked my bother's account (nothing bad, just posted a "you've been hacked" status). and now everytime the internet slows down, he suspects i'm trying to hack him.
so when you make you AWESOME app, please try making the ARP-spoofing faster.

Yea, agree, and I also found out that the port 8080 will not work unless you start a background service to do the forwarding job like FaceNiff does.
I also looked at faceniff binary and it contain some interesting string. I think when I back home I will try to do that like FaceNiff does.

This is because of limited bandwidth and processing power of most Android devices, there might be bandwidth problems in networks with a lot of traffic. This might lead to problems and slow connections for the whole network.

With arpspoof running: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2053297706.png
You say it's slower? You're wrong.
I just tried the SSLSlip ported to Android and here are the results:
1. If you have your homepage as "https://www.google.com" it wont load. You have to start browsing on a non-SSL site and the web proxy NanoHTTPD will transform all https links to http.
2. When I logged in to Google the account name and password was shown in the GUI but it was logged out directly after the page refreshed. Maybe NanoHTTPD can't handle cookies correctly?
3. Much slower and battery is draining much more faster cause everything is going through the NanoHTTPD client.
FaceNiff is running the SSLStrip and webserver in the binary file (Linux kernel) and this port is running it inside the Dalvik virtual machine which will make it go slower. We already know that arpspoof is compatibility with this but not sure about the droidsheep binary...
well, my experience with droidsheep was a slow surfing situation...
and you can't speed test it. explaination:
ARP-spoof is making the PC think that the phone is the router, instead of the actual router.
so with ARP-spoof on: PC---Phone---Router---Internet
now, the speed test is only between the Router and the internet. and with ARP-spoof on, it's between the Phone and the Internet.
the connection will still be slow, because having the Phone run as router is actually really hard to do, having the Phone track the PC's activity, and interfere with it is hard.
the phone gets the command from the PC, then send it to the router, the router responds to the phone, then the phone sends the data to the PC... so it's a slower process than without ARP-spoof.

[UPDATE] All Android Wifi Tools In One Place

I have done some reading and observed some Android Wifi tools which could be useful to you guys.
I know some of you guys already know about some of these apps whiles others don't.
My First Wifi Tool is Dsploit.
Introducing dSploit
dSploit is an Android network analysis and penetration suite which aims to offer to IT security experts/geeks the most complete and advanced professional toolkit to perform network security assesments on a mobile device. Once dSploit is started, you will be able to easily map your network, fingerprint alive hosts operating systems and running services, search for known vulnerabilities, crack logon procedures of many tcp protocols, perform man in the middle attacks such as password sniffing ( with common protocols dissection ), real time traffic manipulation, etc, etc . This application is still in beta stage, a stable release will be available as soon as possible, but expect some crash or strange behaviour until then, in any case, feel free to submit an issue on GitHub.
Here are some screen shots http://www.dsploit.net/images/shots/1.png
http://www.dsploit.net/images/shots/2.png
And A Walk through Video http://youtu.be/HrQl1cG2Hq0
And you could visit their website http://www.dsploit.net/
My srecond Wifi tool I wanna Show you Guys is Anti-Android Network Toolkit
What is Anti?
ZImperium LTD is proud to annonce Android Network Toolkit - Anti.
Anti consists of 2 parts: The Anti version itself and extendable plugins. Upcoming updates will add functionality, plugins or vulnerabilities/exploits to Anti
Using Anti is very intuitive - on each run, Anti will map your network, scan for active devices and vulnerabilities, and will display the information accordingly: Green led signals an 'Active device', Yellow led signals "Available ports", and Red led signals "Vulnerability found". Also, each device will have an icon representing the type of the device. When finished scanning, Anti will produce an automatic report specifying which vulnerabilities you have or bad practices used, and how to fix each one of them.
This App is Kind of a paid App. But you can get the free version from here http://zantiapp.com/anti.html
Here is a link to the walk through video http://youtu.be/tKW-XV59-gk
My third Wifi Tool is Wifi Kill
Its an application for killing wifi connections, that is preventing users on that network from getting to their websites.
I couldnt find the website for this app. (Seems they dont have any). But you could download it from
Here : http://mediafire.com/?ue5itmf89w5h4x2
Here is a link to the walk through video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtaPF6NcOeo
My third Wifi Tool is Droid Sheep.
Its Actually in Two forms
DroidSheep [Root] is an Android app for Security analysis in wireless networks and capturing facebook, twitter, linkedin and other accounts.
DroidSheep Guard is another Android app for monitoring Androids ARP-table. It tries to detect ARP-Spoofing on the network, such as an attack by DroidSheep, FaceNiff and other software.
For Some reasons, the Doidsheep[Root] cant be downloaded from their website which is this http://droidsheep.de/
But dont worry you can find it here at http://depositfiles.com/files/ektsufdkl
On the other hand, DroidSheep Guard can be found at the playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...h.droidsheep.guard.free&feature=search_result
The next one is Android Netspoof
Description
Network Spoofer lets you change websites on other people’s computers from an Android phone. After downloading simply log onto a Wifi network, choose a spoof to use and press start.
Please note that there is no intention for Network Spoofer to include any malicious features. This application is a fun demonstration of how vulnerable home networks are to simple attacks, with permission of the network owner - DO NOT attempt to use Network Spoofer on any corporate or other non-residential networks (eg. at school, university). It becomes very obvious when Network Spoofer is being used on a Network, and use of Network Spoofer will be considered malicious hacking by network administrators.
It can be downloaded from here http://sourceforge.net/projects/netspoof/files/latest/download
There is another App called AoutoProxy
Description
The most complete proxier on the Market. Autoproxy allows you to use Market, Gmail, maps or surf the web even behind the proxy from your home/school/office.
It works by creating a transparent/intercepting proxier running on your phone that redirects web traffic to your proxy. Other apps don't have to be aware there is a proxy!
All outgoing traffic is captured, formatted and transmitted through your network's proxy. That means it works with market, all browsers, gmail, maps, and others.
This is App is a paid app but they have got the light version.
here is a link to it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mgranja.autoproxy&hl=en
FaceNiff
FaceNiff is an Android app that allows you to sniff and intercept web session profiles over the WiFi that your mobile is connected to.
It is possible to hijack sessions only when WiFi is not using EAP, but it should work over any private networks (Open/WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK)
It's kind of like Firesheep for android. Maybe a bit easier to use (and it works on WPA2!).
*** ROOTED PHONE *** is required. Please note that if webuser uses SSL this application won't work.
This application due to its nature is very phone-dependant so please let me know if it won't work for You
Use with stock browser (might not work with other)
Legal notice: this application is for educational purposes only. Do not try to use it if it's not legal in your country.
I do not take any responsibility for anything you do using this application. Use at your own risk
It can be downloaded from here http://faceniff.ponury.net/download.php
I will Be updating the list frequently.
UPDATE
So as i said, i would be updating this and guess what i have kept my promise.
There is this App called Intercepter-NG its another android wifi tool i find useful.
Intercepter-NG is a multifunctional network toolkit for various types of IT specialists. It has functionality of
several famous separate tools and more over offers a good and unique alternative of Wireshark for android.
The main features are:
* network discovery with OS detection
* network traffic analysis
* passwords recovery
* files recovery
Runs on Android >=2.3.3 with root+busybox
Looks better on high resolution, but completely comfortable on 480x720.
It can be downloaded from the playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsInN1LnNuaWZmLmNlcHRlciJd
Another important Wifi tool for android is Wifi WOlf

It can also be downloaded from the store https://play.google.com/store/apps/...nByaXNpbmdhcHBzLmFuZHJvaWQud29sZndpZmlwcm8iXQ..
And one more thing, The app WifiKIll can also be used to redirect web pages to a specific site.
you can do so by first knowing the sites IP Address, then u open the wifi kill app and go to settings the select rejection method drop policy + redirect to.......
Afterwards click on redirect to IP and insert the Ip of the site you want to redirect to.
Note that None of these Apps are mine and all these apps require root, also i am not the cause of any damages these apps could do to your phone. Thanks
Enjoy:fingers-crossed:
But If you have any questions with these apps or questions on how to install any of them, feel free to ask.
Thanks once more.

There is another free android tool for heat maps creation - "WiFi Maps Light", available on GOOGLE PLAY, documentation can be found on app's official site.
you gonna want for sure bcmon.apk if you want to get your wifi crack on. crack wep and wpa/wpa2-wps natively in rooted android rom.

Network Toolbox for Android
Another great tool I came across recently is Network Toolbox for Android:
play .google .com/store/apps/details?id=com.appsropos.whois
It includes a bunch of handy admin tools including Whois, RBL checks, DNS and ARIN lookups, Ping, Port Scan, find external IP, Geo Location for Ip addresses, CIDR calculator, Email server tester, and much more! :good:

A bit of help maybe please on Zimperium's anti
I had dsploit installed and stupidly uninstalled it because now I cannot find the last version apk anywhere.
Anyway, I installed Z's ANTI. Everything seemed to go OK. My android is rooted and superuser rights were granted to the app.
My problem is that when it runs a network scan it recognizes my router but no open ports and that seems to be the end of it.
Any advice?

Me too. I found zanti (dsploit) difficult to use. I would wish to have guides for learning purpose.

I've tried various man in the middle hacks on my laptop with the new zAnti. Its actually very cool
Don't download droid sheep from here (virus)!! I looked at the md5 hash and it did not match the ones of the last 3 versions (the md5 hashes are on http://droidsheep.de/?page_id=23) and also android warned me and blocked the installation
Download the one on https://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=1539105 from the comment of user "Dlll" i verified the md5 and it matched the version 14 on http://droidsheep.de/?page_id=23 (verify it yourself if you don't trust me)
Stay safe
How to verify?
Graciasz
Muchos gracias ?

Public Wifi and Android [in]security

Open question to all, especially if you frequent establishments with open wifi --- What if any security do you use? I'd hope some kind of Firewall, possibly private VPN? And more importantly have you actually verified it provides you with any kind of security?
My issue is this - No matter what I do, cellphones leak data like a waterfall. Seems basically impossible to tell the damn devices to stop broadcasting to the world. Don't call home to clients1.google.com (or any incarnation thereof, and there are many). Don't enable bonjour / zeroconf. Etc.
I literally have no browser installed yet I noticed connecting to open Wifi with portals bring up some kind of browser. Does it store cookies? Does it leak my device id, model, serial # .. IMESI? (believe it or not some applications try to stuff that in an HTTP header).
One of the biggest reasons I ever rooted my phones is I've tried rootless firewalls, they do nothing but have a nice gui.
It's bloody infuriating.
