Hello Guys
I´ve been having problems with my connection on my nexus, the signal bars are always in orange, they were only white for a few hours after a fresh custom rom install.
I can make calls but i don´t receive whatsapp messages or emails
I've tried:
-Flashing the new radio
-Checking my Sim (it works fine on my brother's nexus)
-Turned LTE only in the band options
-Checking my IMEI
Why does it mean IP addr not reachable?
Is there any fix for this? Or I need to request a replacement?
=========UPDATE================
I solved the problem! That was not a hardware or software issue, I dissabled the background data for Google Play Services because they were eating my battery! I've enabled them and I have connection now.
Thanks to @matt4321 for giving me a hint of the problem!
I believe it's white when connected to Google servers!
Have you flashed GApps?

To clear it up:
You're in the US, using a mvno network called Telcel America, which allows unlimited calls to Mexico?
This is probably related to MCC/MNC for this (virtual in the US) network not being included in the custom ROM but is included on the stock ROM. As such, if I understand correctly, if you disable roaming, you'll loose connectivity.
If this is indeed the case, the custom ROM needs to include it (actually, preventing it from thinking it needs to roam) in frameworks/base.

Hi,
I have a galaxy skyrocket i727 from AT&T with last Gingerbread firmware(2.3.6 from at&t).Now i am in india.Recently i did a factory reset and now i have lost data connectivity(though i get full signal and can do calls or messages).
Even before i used to select frequency bands manually to swap between 2g-3g by dialling *#*#197328640#*#* and i used to get data fine.As there is no such option of selecting 'gsm only' or "wcdma preffered/gsm" in wireless&networks menu of the AT&T Firmware.
So the main question is if i put the unofficial ICS ROM like AOKP or UCALC4 than will i get this 2G to 3G selection in settings? Will the phone select indian frequency bands automatically?
thanks!
You may have lost your apn and that's why you can't get data, check under settings mobile network apn if there is anything there(I think that's how it goes in GB) if there isn't check your provider's site or call them and ask how you should configure it.
About your second question, it depends on what rom you will flash, some support it and some don't.

Thanks for replying!
My APN is ok.I requested new apn after deleting older ones and even did a manual "Add new apn" perfectly.Thats why i am asking this question ,because there is no reason for getting "no data".Everything is perfect except that there is no "E" or "H" symbol with up-down arrows beside the network strength bars!
Stupid question but did you enable data?

yeah dude!Obviously!
enabled - disabled it several times!rebooted after selecting apn etc etc But no good
Well sometimes we ignore the obvious so I had to ask. Check your apn again to be sure, make sure the internet apn and not mms apn is checked if you have 2, and it's defined as internet or internet+mms in case of one combined apn.
If this wont fix it something must have happened in the factory reset and you should try upgrading to ICS and see if it still works.
Hey.. BTW I have a question for you , how did you unlock your phone yo use it in India ? I know there are unlock codes, just curious if you got it from at&t or you had to go the eBay way ?

- You need to be SIM Unlocked and have a RAT Unlocked Radio (HINT: Roger I-727R radios)
and
- You need a ROM to support those, if you using TouchWiz I have supported this always from the beg. im my
ROM (see my sig.)
And I do travel there once a quarter, no issues for me. I have an IDEA Card and it works perfect, even ROAMING to 3G where IDEA piggy backs on other providers..

Thanks for the reply.I just flashed the sk8erwitskil,s Latest Cyanogenmod 9 with UCLF6 libs just to check if i was able to switch radios, but right now i am in "2G/gsm only" area.Data is working fine, but cannot turn on wifi...it keeps saying "turning on".
My phone is sure sim-unlocked on idea network, and on UCLF6 Modem(is this thing same as a "radio"?).Initially i was on stock at&t GB firmware.Btw ,which place in india do u travel?
If wifi error persists i will flash EMBRYO Rom
Hi everyone,
I have a d2vzw running Carbon ROM Kitkat. I spent the weekend back in the UK and enabled global mode, which connected to Vodafone's GSM/HSDPA network using the original Verizon SIM. So I had phone and SMS service - no problems at all.
However, I couldn't get a data connection. It was connected to the HSDPA network (enhanced 3G). Under Settings-->More...-->Mobile networks there is the option ("Access Point Names") to choose an APN. However, none showed up. I tried to add an APN manually, but as soon as I set Vodafone's MCC and MNC, it refused to save the APN info.
Oddly enough, the correct APN settings are all on the phone in Carbon ROMs "apns-conf.xml" file, they're just not showing up.
I tried everything to remedy this, but no luck.
So, here are two questions to harvest your collective wisdom:
First, is there a solution to this? I like Carbon ROM, but I have to have global data access for my work. If I can get my d2vzw running Carbon connected to international GSM networks and APN for internet, then I'd really like to.
Second, does anyone know of a KitKat ROM that DOES do this properly on the d2vzw?
Thank you so much,
M
I haven't checked in on AOSP ROMs in a while, but last time I did, none of them could do this, you need to run a Touchwiz-based ROM. AOSP ROMs like Carbon use a reverse-engineered radio interface which is not quite as good as the Samsung one which is included with TW ROMs, and this is one problem with it.
The bottom line is that if you want all the hardware features of your phone to work, you have to use a TW-based ROM, because Samsung hasn't opened up the hardware.

Thanks, Jacquestrapp. That's helpful. Perhaps I will flash a TW-based ROM and then keep it as a nandroid backup for when I go travelling.
I have been using my Verizon S3 in the Philippines as an international phone for months with excellent service. I am able to connect to the GSM network and transmit data at H+ speeds. I am on CM 10.1.3 official on Baseband MF1 and have been able to successfully switch to GSM using the PhoneInfo app. To assign proper APNs, I use the HiAPN app. Be very careful with Phone info: I once broke my connectivity messing with the settings too much ("Select radio band") and had to revert to Twiz and turn on the GSM bands using the "secret menu" to turn those back on. If you have a Twiz backup, try dialing *#2263# to choose the bands your phone has access to (seems impossible on other ROMs) if you keep having problems.
The thread here (see post 106) is enormously helpful.
The info about Twiz and reverse engineering is useful -- I haven't been able to get reliable service beyond CM 10.1.3 (very low signal, inability to send SMS, but somehow can receive SMS and voice calls), so I have been sticking to 10.1.3, unfortunately. I want to upgrade to 4.4, but haven't been able to do it without breaking GSM functionality. Has anyone gotten GSM and data to work on a 4.4 ROM?

So do i. I can't connect to data. I'm come from Vietnam
Help request: LTE Data works,"no service" otherwise. IMEI/number, but no texts/calls.
Software: Android 5.0.1 Skydragon M8 v2.0 Sense 7
Many people have posted issues with LTE where their cellular signal was fine for "2G" functions like calls and texts.
I'm having the opposite problem. After leaving airplane mode (landing at an airport today), I have a "No Service" message in the status bar drop down (notification tray), and the Settings>Network information page shows "Not Registered." However, I do have an IMEI (see details below). However, LTE data works perfectly fine.
I've obviously tried changing the settings in Settings>Mobile Data (preferred network to Global / LTE / LTE/legacy 3GPP mode) connection type global/auto/LTE/etc), to no avail. If LTE is connected it works flawlessly, but I cannot make calls or texts, and show not registered on the network. Data roaming is set to deny, but even allowing roaming does not change the situation.
Before this happened, I HAD gone through all the XTended Settings, and even 'looked' at (but did NOT change) some advanced settings pages, including the 'hidden' HTC network info page ( *#*#4636#*#* ). Again, however, I didn't change anything -- unless by accident?!
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anyone know if I may have inadvertently changed something and can change it back (a setting that would persist in the hardware through NANDROID restores and factory resets...). Or, any other advice to restore the cellular service connection to normal?
I've tried a full NANDROID restore (multiple times) to a working copy, and a factory reset. I have limited access to a PC since I'm traveling, so re-flashing the VZW firmware or stock recovery or lollipop/verizon RUU would be challenging.
I did spend a good 45 minutes (at a library, my only PC access!) searching the forums and web, but to no avail.
Settings information:
OPperator Name: Verizon
Signal Strength -114 (I've had better but still have the same issues)
Mobile Network type: LTE
Service state: In service
IMS service state: Not Registered
Roaming: Not Roaming
Phone Identity page:
IMEI shows up (15-digit number...how can I verify I didn't mess this up?)
Phone Number is correct
IP Address: 100.66..... (looks good)
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
Same here
I'm having the same issue. When i try to make a call my LTE bars drop to nothing and it says call failed no network available. Any ideas or help would be nice. I was using venom rom as well. I'm currently trying to flash the newest RRU to see if that resets things. I'm wondering if it somehow my sim card. I took it from my droid turbo. I've made sure to turn off advanced calling on my VZW account though.

I had this same issue, running from ruu then rooted. I didn't noticed until I started seeing voice mail notifications but never heard the phone ring. When I tried to dial out I got the immediate call lost message. I couldn't figure what was causing it so I just did a reset. I made sure not to restore any systems data from prior to the Lollipop upgrade. At this point everything is working, the only thing I haven't installed yet is the xposed framework and sense 6 toolbox.

What kind of reset did you do? I know my issue is slightly different, but I did a full RUU-flash yesterday (latest lollipop version) and still no luck. Unfortunately I'm out of the country now and access to a computer is limited, and I don't even have a SIM card yet to check if cellular service would work anyway.
I do intend to do a flash of the stock recovery and radios once I have the time and access, but that may be a while...
Still, I'll keep checking this thread to see if anyone posts any other options

Just go into settings and to Backup & Reset , this will return your phone to a fresh install and remove all non bundled apps.
Before doing the reset try going into Settings then Call then change Preferred Network to Global, or toggle from LTE then back to Global.
Hello,
With my previous handset i use to get active data connection while on call, but with One Plus One its not available.
I am using the same SIM card, and i have read somewhere that this feature is by default provided the Network operators however the handset should be compatible.
Is there are way we can activate this?

This should be enabled by default. At least it was for me. You have to be on 3G or LTE, it does not work on EDGE.

No issues so far. I get LTE even when I am on a call.
I use Airtel 4G (Bangalore, India).
Hello everyone, i have a sim-free Xperia Z3 (D6643)
However, i can't use it with my main carrier (strangely enough it came with that same carrier ROM/bloatware pre-installed). Signal pops up, mobile data connects and let me uses it just fine, but when i try to make calls/send texts or recieve those, it doesn't.
"Conditional call forwarding enabled" is the message i recieve, then it disconnects the call.
I'm using an alternative carrier that works just fine '-'
Question for the advanced users of flashtools (if this have something to do with my issue).
i flashed a already packed .tft ROM.
Read in a tutorial that i must exclud all the ".ta" files before make a .tft, analyzing the files before making a .tft i've foun a "SIM Lock.ta" let it out of the process and build my .tft just fine, but i haven't flashed this ROM because i'm not sure if i'll be able to use my usual carrier after the process.
Can anyone confirm that?
Right now i'm sitting at 23.4.A.1.232 for the D6603 model.
I know someone must know a way out for this :fingers-crossed:
Which network provider do you use? Try disabling ALL call forwarding through call settings.

Hello sir, i looked up to call forwarding settings and it's all disabled already... Yet, when i try to change any settings there a message says that network isn't responding, something like that.
My country has four major carriers, it just works properly with only one!!
Really strange, given the fact that we don't have carrier locked or exclusive devices plus all the things i've spotted in my first post (signal is full, 4g conneceted).
