20140731: latest slim and kangaroo sources, fixed landscape bootanimation, added NTFS support
20140729: latest slim and kangaroo sources, easycap support, default govenor is now ondemand (should fix all getting stuck on sleep issues), @_crue_ powereventmanager is now updated, built in and added to the settings, nicer media icons in the navbar

i will test it today. Hopefully it runs fine
Update: The rom itself runs quite nice but where can i set the Fixed install feature from Kanguroos kernel? I downloaded the Power Event Manager APK but it doesnt save my settings. When i switch FI mode on it disable it after a app restart. Do you have a solution?
Update2: after the flash i lost root that was the problem -.-. Sry now everything runs fine.
Update3: the tablet doesnt get into firm sleep mode automatically. It only jumps in firm sleep mode if i touch the button from the power event manager. Do you have any solutions for this?
Thanks

Do you know if i can change the Background from this standby Countdown?
I tried this: "The new PowerEventMgr allows you to use a custom fullscreen image for the standby transition. Just copy a JPG image with the dimensions of your screen (1280x736) to /sdcard/usbrom-powerdown.jpg and it will be shown on power loss, before the devices goes into standby mode. "
But it didnt worked.
Thanks

This ROM aims at bringing to the G2X community what it deserves : a fully working jellybean (this is NOT the hackfest) build based on CM10.1 (android 4.2.1). I wanted this powerful device to get the very best, and now it will get the most recent android system, updated whenever I will have some time to. Never again, we will wait for LG to update this device.
As most of you know, the radio doesn't work, which means no calls/SMS on CM10/10.1. That is why I adapted a dual boot system (based on bihariel's work) for this device.
WHY DUAL BOOT?
With dual booting, you can choose between two ROMS and change from one to another in less than 20 seconds!
You can change to CM10.1 to...
- Feel what it means to have a buttery smooth device
- Play games
- Make free WIFI calls (US and Canada) with GrooveIP lite
- Use the most recent android OS.
When you're on the go, change to a CM7/CM9/CM10 (hackfest) ROM...
- FAST!
- Without altering the CM10.1 files
- To make phone calls and receive SMS
DISCLAIMER
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE of any damages to your device related to the use of this ROM or the dualboot toolkit. You do this at your own risk. Even though this has been tested and works well, using NVFLASH may brick your device if done incorrectly.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This ROM comes in two flavours: The dualboot toolkit or the Original flashable ROM
Dualboot ROM Instructions
WARNING! NVFLASH will format EVERYTHING, including internalSD. Make sure you backup your important files on your externalSD card
PART 1 - Resizing system partition
1) Unzip the dualboot toolkit and unzip NVFLASH_Resizer-G2X.zip.
2) Power off your phone and remove the battery. Keep vol. up and vol. down held and plug the phone via USB to a WINDOWS computer.
3) Windows should add an "APX driver". Go to control panel -> Device manager and right click on it -> Update driver -> search in system. Then, browse to the drivers folder inside the NVFLASH package and choose nvidiausb.inf. Approve any error messages (Windows 8 users read my FAQ). Install the Nvidia Fastboot driver.
4) Unplug your phone and hold down vol.up and vol.down. Replug it again and double click on flash.bat inside the NVFLASH folder. KEEP BOTH BUTTONS HELD DOWN DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS!.
5) When NVFLASH is done, unplug the phone and put back the battery. Reboot into recovery with power + vol. down. Plug it back and go to mounts and storage -> mount USB storage. If your PC asks to format the internal SD card, select yes.
PART 2 - Installing ROMS
1) Download the desired "call/SMS" ROM and extract boot.img from it's flashable zip. Rename it to boot1.img. Extract Step3_bootimg.zip from the dualboot toolkit and copy-paste boot1.img into system/boot, replacing the file that is already there. Repack Step3_bootimg.zip.
2) Copy-paste your desired ROM into the 0dualboot folder and send it to your device SDcard with everything it contains (your device should already be in the "mount USB storage" menu).
3) From the recovery, flash Step1_enabler.zip. When the screen goes black, hold power + vol. down to get back into recovery.
4) Flash your desired ROM, then Step2_ROM1.zip. Reboot to the OS.
5) You should have a Systemchanger app. Open it, click on "Switching" and give root permissions. When the screen goes black (again...), hold power + vol. down to get into recovery.
6) Flash ROM2.zip and Step3_Bootimg.zip and reboot in the OS
And there you go! To switch from one OS to another, just open the systemchanger app and click on "switching"!
Credits to bihariel for the original method. See the original thread here.
Original flashable zip ROM instructions
1) Boot into recovery with power + vol. down
2) Wipe data/cache, then mounts and storage -> format system
3) Flash this ROM
4) Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions
5) Reboot and enjoy!
Special trick : In settings, go to About phone and click 6 times on Build number. This will pop up the developer and performances options. In performances options, CPU settings, change the governor from INTERACTIVE to SMARTASSV2.

FAQ
I am using Windows 8 and I cannot install NVFLASH drivers!
In windows 8, you will need to go on Select Settings (right bar)/More PC Settings (at bottom). Then go General/Advanced Startup/Restart Now/Troubleshoot/Advanced Options/Windows Startup Settings/Restart. Disable driver signature enforcement (should be options 7 I think). If you don't get to the advanced startup menu, keep pressing F8 when rebooting.
I am getting Status 7 errors while flashing this ROM!
This is possible, and to fix this simply flash another CM10.1 ROM before (adampk's build 7) and dirty flash this ROM again. If it doesn't work, go to mounts and storage and manually mount /system.
I found a bug, can I submit a logcat ?
Yes, but make sure you are taking a logcat while the bug happens. Please post them in a userthread or send them to me via PM. Thanks!
I have a suggestion for your ROM...
...and I'm always open to them! Whether it's for integrating new apps, themes, tweaks, I'm always open for good ideas! PM me or post in the user thread.
I am experiencing FC and some base apps are missing!!
This is not normal. I've been running this build for two days in a row and didn't have a single issue. You should consider reinstalling using the Original flashable ZIP package. Simply boot to CM10.1, power off the phone, then get into recovery using power + vol. down and follow the instructions (if you are using the Dualboot Toolkit).

Whoa. I think I'm going to try it out. Maybe a stable Gingerbread ROM like hellfire for calls to back up the CM10 goodness. Would switching ROMs often, like 3 or 4 times an hour, have much impact on battery?

Thanks! This was not my main project as this is only a port of cm10.1 (with some fixes and many tweaks to make it interesting of course ) because I had some issues with the other one but I'll try to make this one as useful as possible even without radio. I actually compiled this and realized that it was very efficient and functional.

Switching ROMS shouldn't have a very big impact on battery usage. Changing the CPU governor to SMARTASSV2 and keeping airplane mode on (in CM10.1) might help somewhat, but I already silenced the radio so it shouldn't use too much battery anyway.
If everything goes as planned, I should release another kernel build by tomorrow to add some interesting features and the upcoming "weekly" updates for this ROM will be available as "patches" for those who already have the dual boot set up to make it as simple as possible. Of course, new users will also have the full CWM flashable zip version.
I installed Original flashable ZIP (For single boot). It's the one that I am looking for a while.

I don't know what's going on but after I unziped this dual boot file with 7zip and I went into the "0dualboot" folder then the "NVFlash_Resizer-G2x" and in there I find the "Drivers" folder like you said. However, in the drivers folder is the "amd64" and "i386" but both of those folders are empty. Nothing is inside them at all. Am I missing something? This is on Win7 so should find it just fine. Can anyone help me with this?
Edit: I just downloaded the file "DBToolkit_cm10.1_p999" for the 3rd time with the same problem. Also the file you specified, "flash.bat" isn't showing up either in the NVFlash folder.
Thank you so much. I hope people like you keep the G2X development alive.
Thanks again.

Oh woah my bad...I honestly don't understand why it's missing files in the NVFLASH package..Well it's being reuploaded at the moment so it should be ready in about 5-10 minutes.
Sorry for this.
I will download it myself and verify it to make sure everything is okay now...If something is wrong just reply back
EDIT: Okay it's back up and I verified everything so you should be good.

Use the single boot (Original flashable zip) if you do not want to use nvflash. For dual boot, you don't have the choice. If you backup everything with titanium backup on your externalSD or computer you shouldn't lose anything though.

hey man thanks for your work, where you found time to tinker with our little dual boot problem, while working on the kernel and everything else, i wont ever know. dang dude. will be trying this out after i replace my wifes screen tonight. i would say the G2X community owes you one...or more. thanks again!
Ok, so I was installing this dual boot and ran across a problem, I, now, cannot mount the system or cache after the first step... So I cannot get a ROM on my phone to work at this time. Any ideas?

Restart the NVFLASH process. Make sure you keep vol. up and vol. down held during the whole process. Plug the phone directly in a USB port from your motherboard (not in a splitter or a front port, for example). Also make sure you followed the instructions correctly and that the bootloader and recovery files are completely sent when running NVFLASH.
Oh also, verify that you have the correct drivers installed (Nvidia USB-boot driver or something like that) and extract everything for the NVFLASH archive.
Just to make sure the archive is okay now, can I have a confirmation of someone who tried it and it worked ?

Thank you, I never thought to redo the NVFLASH.
Now, the NVFLASH opened a windows for a second or less when I told it to run. Is that normal?
And the APX drivers are installed correctly because I have been going from twrp to cwm and back without a problem.
I will try it again when I get home because my brother in law doesn't have a working pc. Will let you know and let me know about the NVFLASH please. Thank you
---------- Post added at 01:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:01 PM ----------
Forgot to mention, the Window that opens on NVFLASH closes in less than a second so I cannot read it.
Awesome work Mazout! I'll try out this method after my exams are over, Also, do you want a new Userthread for this Dualboot system or will you use the older one?

+1: patch for phones with GB bootloader
Installing:
- download base rom and googleapps, copy to SD card
- use/boot to CWM_6_20130615
- make full wipe, format "system", "system/app" , "data" partitions too
- CWM "Install zip from sdcard" ->"choose zip from sdcard" , select rom then install
- repeat previous step, but choose gapps pack
- if your phone has GB bootloader, use GB patch (it will be released always after 1-4day)
Important: After installing rom, double reboot to fix MAC addresses and USB ID
Dont use independent boot.img for older CM releases becasue of changed SD card mount path.
Im just post that, bagyusz made this!
I personally recommend to use Seeder app, to make system more fluid (in apps, like facebook, etc)
CM9 project
Test version is out - CM9 + gApps. Use CWM5 to install.
No 720rec/hdmi/PC sdcard mount. Touch same as CM10. Shared for testing purposes.
Sources. (working tree, of course)
Clean ICS project
Download and install from recovery. Shared for testing purposes.
*if cant boot or display errors, use attached boot img. (fastboot flash boot boot_245.img)
If you able, support developers.
Great, I hope plenty of feedbacks to help determine what needs to be work on
Good work h1n1 team
Now we're talking....
Good job H1N1 team!!!
Thanx wwenigma & bagyusz and ı see flash cwm 5 is possible ? i think it must be cwm 6 ? and about battery life and scrolling ? and what next come 4.2 or better 4.1.2 ?

In my opinion, battery life is much better than other ROM before. about scrolling it stills a little beat laggy...
If we could have a 4.2 ROM that would be awesome, really awesome!
Iuss try to modify CWM to use CUSTPACK partition to System/app automatically. (he say'd we wont get official CWM support if we not able to install official gapps packs) This CWM wasnt finished. I cant see any sign of official CM support so this is not need.
Scrolling and battery life. Scrolling is little "jumpy", but not bad. Need some fix (bagyusz working on it) Battery life is under testing (1 charge = 10minute call + 30minute using + 36hour standby), power management is not applied.
About upcoming releases. Time will tell.
Today the third day when i wake up the clock's alarm sound. Its working.
Torch app - i never use, on original ROM it cant working after few day. I recommend this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...uni.flashlight
Wifi/3G switch working.

OK, maybe I was too sleepy and couldn't ear the alarm sound... I'll test it later.
About the flashlight I do not use it too much times but sometimes is very useful. I'll try the app you have recommended.
About Wifi/3G switch is working for me either...
OTG
Have anyone tried to connect mouse/keyboard via USB? Is it necessary for connected device to have its own power supply? Right now I do not have OTG cable to try.

First of all, nice work!
About gapps, it's not legal to distribute them with a ROM without a license from Google and since it's closed source there is no way around it.
Cyanogenmod were threatened with legal action for doing so a few years back so they removed it.
Here's a link with info regarding that: http://androidandme.com/2009/09/hacks/cyanogenmod-in-trouble/
A simple way around it would be to provide a gapps package with an updater-script that installs them into /custpack.
Skickat från min ALCATEL_one_touch_995 via Tapatalk 2
jinxxed, from what i see, they provide it separately, so no issue on that

Ty!
Cyanogenmod team wants a solution to install gapps without any modification. Thats why modded CWM6 released anno, because not enough space in System partition and partition resize isnt available. Then Iuss and fonix cant finish that project. (we talk about that with heimdallr75 , maybe there is a way to resize partitions, but first resize is dangerous)

I think 200-300mA is available via OTG.

Yeah, resizing requires QPST scripting and there is a good chance of destroying the phone.
One solution is to use mini_phone.mk that will put out a rom that is less than 180MB in size.
Of course, it's easier to just change the recovery to fix it like ius did.
All you really need to do is to add the mount lines to recovery and nandroid before compilation.

Anyone tried USB OTG ? If it's working i would be like a barrel filled with happiness rolling down the floor, because i always wanted to have that particular feature on a mobile device
i didn't even know that It was be possible to enable OTG on any device, because i thought it was hardware based modification. Great job, seriously.
i've made some modifications, listed in my github, after inclusion of bagyusz commits (branch:master)
here is my build : http://pa-ot-995.googlecode.com/files/cm-10-20130220-UNOFFICIAL-cocktail.zip
changelog :
- ics and gb bootloaders should work
- Torch works
- battery stats are working
wwenigma, can you add it to OP ? i don't think i have to create a new topic for that. Hopefully, bagyusz will update his git to track his progress, i'll do on my side.

BEN, can we flash it over the latest release from H1N1 or does we have to wipe everything?
yep, but you'll need to wipe cache and i think also flashing gapps again, may be not useful, give a try and inform us

[rom][05/01/14] Slimkat 4.4.2 beta 2 [UNOFFICIAL][KITKAT]

Frequent Q&A (maybe?)

Q: WHY FAQ FIRST?
A: Because, I have seen some of you guys are so lazy to scroll down a bit to read this as this is essential post I think. And further more, I don't want you to brick your phone because of your lack of reading skill .
Q: Am I advised to do anything?
A: READ THIS CAREFULLY everyone. Since I changed the partition layout for more convenient to work on kitkat or future Android so I advise you to do a oneclick heimdall back to BML first, do a full wipe except for the sdcard and then flash the kitkat zip. Once u r in TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again (with or without gapps) . I might change the partition table several times until I have the good space calculation for rom and gapps tho, so this procedure is advised/required - just took u 30s to do that tho.
I will also mark the zip/update that have another different table that required this procedure then, otherwise, you can update via dirty flash.
Link to heimdall package: AntonX's Basic with a twist kernel [BML]
And here is the recommended procedure:
1. Make backup or whatever u need then copy the ROM into ur sdcard.
2. Reboot into Recovery and full wipe except sdcard.
3. Reboot into Download mode and Heimdall oneclick BML ROM/kernel
4. Flash the Slimkat build from CWM 5.x
5. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Slimkat ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb. That's all. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal is not available on Slimkat.
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: Is this really KITKAT? And can I eat it?
A: Yes, yes it is. And u r advised to cook it before eating tho. Enjoy your meal then .
More that has been answered here.

Remember to follow the OPs tho, especially the first one about FAQ. You have to carefully follow the procedure to flash this ROM: Heimdall oneclick back to BML and then flash it. Remember to do a full wipe!
One more: for stability, OC and UV are not recommended. I might revert those 2 features in the next build.

Hmm weird, lets me check the build again, or I might upload my previous build insted (w/o ota support). Interesting that the only change in this build compare to previous one running on mine is OTA suport and it was cleaner build (on mine was dirty one).
Oh wait, did u flash the build again via TWRP? If not, I am sorry that I forgot telling ya that once u r in TWRP, u have to flash it again (u know how to use TWRP rite?)
Anw, u can still heimdall again n flash slimbean tho so dunt worry

1. Copy the ROM to sdcard then Heimdall BML kernel
2. Full wipe except sdcard and flash Slimkat build
3. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again.
4. Reboot.

Use the Combo volume + volume - and power button to boot into Recovery tho. If u wiped b4 heimdall then after flashing slimkat, it should bring u into TWRP. that was weird unless u hadn't wiped :/.
now again:
- installed fresh 2.3.6.
- installed AntonX-Basic_with_a_twist-v1.1.0-OC_UV
- wait 5~ minute on boot logo !!
- boot on cwm and install your rom
- auto reboot into TWRP
- install rom again
- wipe
- Reboot
- Phone boot into KitKat
Thank You !!!

I added the right procedure onto OP anyway so everyone else should follow it easier. And FYI, u should have OTA updater works from now on for updating the ROM in future. U should receive a notification automatically everytime I upload a new build then. One more thing I have to do is finding a way to include Changelog and mayb look over GPS then .

I'm gonna exclude the OC and UV from the next update anw. It causes more trouble to the stability than it helps on the battery tho. Plus, it's good to let the phone rest for a while, 15 to 30 seconds after every boot finishes to ensure that u won't have freeze/reboot afterwards. and ye. Slimkat just hit the Beta phrase yet, features are slowly merged tho so stay tuned for OTA gift .
Thank you so much for is dao!
OTA works great. Is ART functioning? My SELinux status says Enforcing. Is that a problem?

Fantastic! Downloading..
Ok DEV i may need a spoon-full. Fired up the tool and scanned, it worked perfect, tab information showed-up and all buttons lit-up. Didn't try any recovery options cause i'm already rooted but i had been meaning to install galatab3. Clicking on "Get GT3 Kernel" didn't do anything and neither did clicking on "Gala Tab 3" (tools section) took me to the discussion thread but nothing else. Neither option downloaded the file, so is it something I'm doing wrong?
Downloading odin worked like a charm, i didn't try TWRP or CWM since I'm already rooted.
Reboot recovery and reboot system work. i haven't had a need to try any other functions (yet). Oh, one thing i found inconvenient is the tool is always-on-top.
I do believe if you intend for it to a tool for noobs, you do a separate tool for rooting and recovery only, sort of like a one or two click rooting with only one or buttons to click. As it is right now, there are too many options. And also you can really get in that noob mode and it would dawn on you to put in the instruction how to make the developer options show up in the first place LOL Just IMO DEV.
Thank you for all of your feedback @treetop777
When you click "Get GT3 Kernel," it should download the GalaTab3 Kernel right into the same directory as the program itself.
Once it downloads, if you then click the "Copy GT3," it will then copy the Kernel over to /sdcard/ path of the device. From there, you can reboot into recovery and install the zip file of GalaTab3 from the sdcard.
Please try that and let me know how it works for you. I will try to categorize everything better and lay it out easier with your feedback. Thank you

NP DEV. Will you put out an update? Cause for sure the version i have DO NOT download the Kernel and also, i don't see the "Copy GT3" you mentioned.
You know, now that i think of it, when i hover over the "Get GT3 Kernel" i get a message about the SD card. Maybe you meant that button to read "COPY GT3 Kernel" ?? If that's the case, then it would have to be moved to the tools section.
But first DEV, it has to download the Kernel which it's not doing right now. Unless I'm doing something wrong.
I'm sorry about the issue that you're having.. I am going to look into it in just a few minutes. I will release an update tonight for you.

But first DEV, it has to download the Kernel which it's not doing right now. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

I have uploaded version 1.0 now, and have fixed the bug in the Kernel download method that I was using.
Please try the new version, and let me know if that fixes your problem(s)!
Once you click "Get GT3 Kernel," it will download the kernel zip, and place it into the current directory of the GalaxyTab3_Toolkit, then the button will rename itself to "Copy Kernel." Click that, and it will ask you if you'd like to transfer the kernel zip over to /sdcard/ on the tablet. Click yes, then once it finishes, click Reboot Recovery, and you will be able to install the kernel zip file from there.
Worked EXACTLY as expected! Downloaded GT3 then pushed it to the internal storage then rebooted into TWRP. After flashing GT3, rebooted into system and the tab is running smooth. No glitches, no problems. What more can i say - flawless!
It's nice to have all these procedures all in one place.
Thanks!

Great! I am going to work on making everything a bit easier for everyone to understand, thanks to your input!
I'm glad everything worked for you

Looks awesome going to give it a shot, lets see if this meets my needs.
Using it now but why no philz recovery?
Update....
Worked great thanks.
One small issue was having to put the device into download mode manually. I was getting an exception error about no root when I chose the reboot download button.
Once philz was installed, I used his root option and then installed supersu and Staricson busybox using smart install. Device is now rooted and I can start modding.
Thanks !
Small recomendation.. allow for the app to use or not use system proxy. Also, app should have an option to not always be on top.

Well, I haven't had the chance to test Philz recovery out just yet, I only included the tools that I have personally tested.
I am going to add an option for all of the updated recoveries that support CM10-CM11! Also, I will add an option to allow it to not always be on-top, too!
I will look into the root-required Download Mode reboot, but it would always fail to reboot into Download Mode for me if I didn't run it as SU.. I'll see what I can do to fix it, because I know that it doesn't require root through a regular shell.
Thank you for your feedback!!

I don't have a T311 to test with, but once I get everything implemented that I want for the T310, I will try to add functions for the T311 for you!
Any love for the t315 4g version?
I've updated to version 1.1 guys, please check the changelog in the original post for more information!
@gx3k - no, I'm sorry, no support for T311 or T315 yet! I think everything is now good with the T310, so I will start working on the other two now!
@Phil3759 & @gr8nole - I added your recoveries to my project, and have hosted them on my server as well for a direct-download method. If this is a problem at all, please let me know and I will remove them asap! Thank you guys for all of your work
Superb!
Echoing what others have said, nice to see everything in one place, had my Tab rooted within ten minutes, thanks for the tool!

We've done it! Thanks to the androidarmv6 team's work, and the great people over at Team Simplicit(Especially Olivier, as he got it working on the Wildfire S and a couple other devices),
we now have a functional KitKat rom for the ChaCha!
This rom SHOULD now be daily driver ready. Please leave feedback on any issues.
I will also note that it takes a rather long time to boot. I don't know if it will stay this way or not, so don't ask.
And lastly, I recommend leaving the device for at least a minute after first boot, before going through the setup wizard. Otherwise it will be very laggy.
NOT WORKING/BROKEN/ISSUES

Screen video recording (I believe we have a fix in the works)

RECOVERY
Recovery gets built with rom, I will update this anytime the recovery is changed.
Current Version is 6.0.5.3
Download Here | Mirror
How to flash recovery:
Terminal Method:
Stick the "recovery.img" file on the root of your sdcard. Open a terminal emulator, and type:
Code:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
After typing "su" you'll want to allow terminal emulator root access.
Fastboot method:
Stick the "recovery.img" file in the same directory as your fastboot executable binary.
Put your phone in fastboot mode.
Open a command prompt and use the fastboot tool to type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
PH06IMG.zip method:
Put your phone in fastboot mode, and use the fastboot tool to type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
You'll want to make note of the "version-main" value, the "cidnum" value, the "modelid" value, and the "hbootpreupdate" value.
Stick the "recovery.img" file in a folder somewhere, and create a new text document called "android-info.txt"
Put the values you noted earlier into the "android-info.txt" in the following format(this one works for my device):
Code:
modelid: PH0613000
cidnum: TELUS001
mainver: 1.60.0.0
hbootpreupdate: 12
note that "mainver" is the value you noted earlier from "version-main".
Now zip the "recovery.img" and the "android-info.txt" together, and name it "PH06IMG.zip"
Put that file on the root of your sdcard, and reboot into the bootloader. It should detect the zip, and ask you to update. choose yes, and you're off to the races!

I am Really Enjoying Kitkate right now
———
Installing Steps:
1) I Tried to install the Recovery using the boot loader method but it failed with an error "CID incorrect, update fail”.
So i used fast boot Method with my PC & this command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”
2) Installed The Rom
3) Installed “CronMod-INT2EXTV2+_signed.zip” (Great INT2ext mod to increase internal Memory form SD card, now 1.5GB)
The system Feels good, but i couldn’t live with it without updating the minimum CPU frequency to 245 MHZ
Problems i faced At my first look
System:
Wifi & Hotspot NOT working
Bluetooth NOT working
USB Mass Storage Mode (UMS) NOT working ( I can Not connect my phone to the pc with any mean )
3G Stop working after WAKE - I Must Manually disable and re-enable it
Battery Still Testing
Apps:
Camera image is rotated !
Phone app buttons really needs to be reorganised
Keyboard:
@ and ~ are misplaced , should be switched (FN+y) with (FN+p)
No Number “0”
Lang, & Facebook Keys are not Functional
No Arabic Keyboard
Overall, Very Good for a First Build. I am Excited to Test the Next Build and i am ready for Testing

I will say that mass storage mode works perfectly for me. but I will do some testing with other micro sd cards, and see what happens.
But thanks for testing!

Lot's of problems... it's better that we think about a new KERNEL:good: instead of a new ROM...

Keep in mind, this is absolutely NOT a stable release. entirely a testing/dev release.
That having been said, if you want to start the efforts of working on a new kernel, I certainly wouldn't complain, and I'd even try my best to help.

It's certainly possible. I don't know if I'll do it to my own fork of the currently used kernel, or if maybe Olivier will do it, but I will definitely look into it in the next few days, see what I can come up with. I have found a patch used on a samsung device that uses the msm7227 like our device, so as long as it's similar enough, and still works with kitkat, it shouldn't be too hard.
No promises though

Ah ok great.
Anyway, the biggest downside of the custom roms for the Chacha is the bad keyboard integration. If you compare it with a Nokia E71, the original ROM is already bad. But if you use a custom ROM, than you are lacking even more keyboard shortcuts (especially when handling calls). So I guess improving this would be the best thing for this phone.
But let's see... whatever you decide it's great there there is still so much work going on for this phone!

Unfortunately, I can only judge by the English keyboard configurations, because I don't know any other languages xD
But the next build(which, if all goes well, will be later this afternoon/evening) will have the keyboard configs the same as the other recent custom roms, primarily the ones by adlx.xda, as it's his repos we got the configs from.
But after I release this new update, if you tell me what's wrong with the keyboard specifically, I may be able to help out a little.
ohh finally ! , how good of you , i will try it sure and tell you if there is anything wrong .. but is the kernel support swap ? , and the keyboard support arabic language and the buttons ? thanks alot

the next release(which is currently compiling. takes a LONG time xD) SHOULD have proper arabic support, and I believe it does support swap, but I don't know for sure.

no, however it is recommended, and I can't guarantee that future releases of the rom won't require it.
