This ROM aims at bringing to the G2X community what it deserves : a fully working jellybean (this is NOT the hackfest) build based on CM10.1 (android 4.2.1). I wanted this powerful device to get the very best, and now it will get the most recent android system, updated whenever I will have some time to. Never again, we will wait for LG to update this device.
As most of you know, the radio doesn't work, which means no calls/SMS on CM10/10.1. That is why I adapted a dual boot system (based on bihariel's work) for this device.
WHY DUAL BOOT?
With dual booting, you can choose between two ROMS and change from one to another in less than 20 seconds!
You can change to CM10.1 to...
- Feel what it means to have a buttery smooth device
- Play games
- Make free WIFI calls (US and Canada) with GrooveIP lite
- Use the most recent android OS.
When you're on the go, change to a CM7/CM9/CM10 (hackfest) ROM...
- FAST!
- Without altering the CM10.1 files
- To make phone calls and receive SMS
DISCLAIMER
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE of any damages to your device related to the use of this ROM or the dualboot toolkit. You do this at your own risk. Even though this has been tested and works well, using NVFLASH may brick your device if done incorrectly.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This ROM comes in two flavours: The dualboot toolkit or the Original flashable ROM
Dualboot ROM Instructions
WARNING! NVFLASH will format EVERYTHING, including internalSD. Make sure you backup your important files on your externalSD card
PART 1 - Resizing system partition
1) Unzip the dualboot toolkit and unzip NVFLASH_Resizer-G2X.zip.
2) Power off your phone and remove the battery. Keep vol. up and vol. down held and plug the phone via USB to a WINDOWS computer.
3) Windows should add an "APX driver". Go to control panel -> Device manager and right click on it -> Update driver -> search in system. Then, browse to the drivers folder inside the NVFLASH package and choose nvidiausb.inf. Approve any error messages (Windows 8 users read my FAQ). Install the Nvidia Fastboot driver.
4) Unplug your phone and hold down vol.up and vol.down. Replug it again and double click on flash.bat inside the NVFLASH folder. KEEP BOTH BUTTONS HELD DOWN DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS!.
5) When NVFLASH is done, unplug the phone and put back the battery. Reboot into recovery with power + vol. down. Plug it back and go to mounts and storage -> mount USB storage. If your PC asks to format the internal SD card, select yes.
PART 2 - Installing ROMS
1) Download the desired "call/SMS" ROM and extract boot.img from it's flashable zip. Rename it to boot1.img. Extract Step3_bootimg.zip from the dualboot toolkit and copy-paste boot1.img into system/boot, replacing the file that is already there. Repack Step3_bootimg.zip.
2) Copy-paste your desired ROM into the 0dualboot folder and send it to your device SDcard with everything it contains (your device should already be in the "mount USB storage" menu).
3) From the recovery, flash Step1_enabler.zip. When the screen goes black, hold power + vol. down to get back into recovery.
4) Flash your desired ROM, then Step2_ROM1.zip. Reboot to the OS.
5) You should have a Systemchanger app. Open it, click on "Switching" and give root permissions. When the screen goes black (again...), hold power + vol. down to get into recovery.
6) Flash ROM2.zip and Step3_Bootimg.zip and reboot in the OS
And there you go! To switch from one OS to another, just open the systemchanger app and click on "switching"!
Credits to bihariel for the original method. See the original thread here.
Original flashable zip ROM instructions
1) Boot into recovery with power + vol. down
2) Wipe data/cache, then mounts and storage -> format system
3) Flash this ROM
4) Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions
5) Reboot and enjoy!
Special trick : In settings, go to About phone and click 6 times on Build number. This will pop up the developer and performances options. In performances options, CPU settings, change the governor from INTERACTIVE to SMARTASSV2.

FAQ
I am using Windows 8 and I cannot install NVFLASH drivers!
In windows 8, you will need to go on Select Settings (right bar)/More PC Settings (at bottom). Then go General/Advanced Startup/Restart Now/Troubleshoot/Advanced Options/Windows Startup Settings/Restart. Disable driver signature enforcement (should be options 7 I think). If you don't get to the advanced startup menu, keep pressing F8 when rebooting.
I am getting Status 7 errors while flashing this ROM!
This is possible, and to fix this simply flash another CM10.1 ROM before (adampk's build 7) and dirty flash this ROM again. If it doesn't work, go to mounts and storage and manually mount /system.
I found a bug, can I submit a logcat ?
Yes, but make sure you are taking a logcat while the bug happens. Please post them in a userthread or send them to me via PM. Thanks!
I have a suggestion for your ROM...
...and I'm always open to them! Whether it's for integrating new apps, themes, tweaks, I'm always open for good ideas! PM me or post in the user thread.
I am experiencing FC and some base apps are missing!!
This is not normal. I've been running this build for two days in a row and didn't have a single issue. You should consider reinstalling using the Original flashable ZIP package. Simply boot to CM10.1, power off the phone, then get into recovery using power + vol. down and follow the instructions (if you are using the Dualboot Toolkit).

Whoa. I think I'm going to try it out. Maybe a stable Gingerbread ROM like hellfire for calls to back up the CM10 goodness. Would switching ROMs often, like 3 or 4 times an hour, have much impact on battery?

Thanks! This was not my main project as this is only a port of cm10.1 (with some fixes and many tweaks to make it interesting of course ) because I had some issues with the other one but I'll try to make this one as useful as possible even without radio. I actually compiled this and realized that it was very efficient and functional.

Switching ROMS shouldn't have a very big impact on battery usage. Changing the CPU governor to SMARTASSV2 and keeping airplane mode on (in CM10.1) might help somewhat, but I already silenced the radio so it shouldn't use too much battery anyway.
If everything goes as planned, I should release another kernel build by tomorrow to add some interesting features and the upcoming "weekly" updates for this ROM will be available as "patches" for those who already have the dual boot set up to make it as simple as possible. Of course, new users will also have the full CWM flashable zip version.
I installed Original flashable ZIP (For single boot). It's the one that I am looking for a while.

I don't know what's going on but after I unziped this dual boot file with 7zip and I went into the "0dualboot" folder then the "NVFlash_Resizer-G2x" and in there I find the "Drivers" folder like you said. However, in the drivers folder is the "amd64" and "i386" but both of those folders are empty. Nothing is inside them at all. Am I missing something? This is on Win7 so should find it just fine. Can anyone help me with this?
Edit: I just downloaded the file "DBToolkit_cm10.1_p999" for the 3rd time with the same problem. Also the file you specified, "flash.bat" isn't showing up either in the NVFlash folder.
Thank you so much. I hope people like you keep the G2X development alive.
Thanks again.

Oh woah my bad...I honestly don't understand why it's missing files in the NVFLASH package..Well it's being reuploaded at the moment so it should be ready in about 5-10 minutes.
Sorry for this.
I will download it myself and verify it to make sure everything is okay now...If something is wrong just reply back
EDIT: Okay it's back up and I verified everything so you should be good.

Use the single boot (Original flashable zip) if you do not want to use nvflash. For dual boot, you don't have the choice. If you backup everything with titanium backup on your externalSD or computer you shouldn't lose anything though.

hey man thanks for your work, where you found time to tinker with our little dual boot problem, while working on the kernel and everything else, i wont ever know. dang dude. will be trying this out after i replace my wifes screen tonight. i would say the G2X community owes you one...or more. thanks again!
Ok, so I was installing this dual boot and ran across a problem, I, now, cannot mount the system or cache after the first step... So I cannot get a ROM on my phone to work at this time. Any ideas?

Restart the NVFLASH process. Make sure you keep vol. up and vol. down held during the whole process. Plug the phone directly in a USB port from your motherboard (not in a splitter or a front port, for example). Also make sure you followed the instructions correctly and that the bootloader and recovery files are completely sent when running NVFLASH.
Oh also, verify that you have the correct drivers installed (Nvidia USB-boot driver or something like that) and extract everything for the NVFLASH archive.
Just to make sure the archive is okay now, can I have a confirmation of someone who tried it and it worked ?

Thank you, I never thought to redo the NVFLASH.
Now, the NVFLASH opened a windows for a second or less when I told it to run. Is that normal?
And the APX drivers are installed correctly because I have been going from twrp to cwm and back without a problem.
I will try it again when I get home because my brother in law doesn't have a working pc. Will let you know and let me know about the NVFLASH please. Thank you

Forgot to mention, the Window that opens on NVFLASH closes in less than a second so I cannot read it.
Awesome work Mazout! I'll try out this method after my exams are over, Also, do you want a new Userthread for this Dualboot system or will you use the older one?

All of my Rom's from this point forward will be Voodoo enhanced. Which means, if you do not have a voodoo kernel now, it will take a few minutes to first boot up.
If you are coming from a Rom that IS NOT STOCK( AKA REFUSED or INFUSED), please skip right to "Vodoo" install instructions.
Install Instructions For Green ClockWork and Modified Recovery 3e:
The install instructions are for phones that have been rooted and have the proper recovery installed. If you are not sure or don't please goto the main forum and download the proper sources.
Also, a word of advice to the in-experienced. It is best to install a ROM with a battery that has been fully charged. Otherwise you are going to have to WIPE the battery stats. If you flash a rom and it seems like your battery is "off", I assure you , that is most likely the problem. Plus it takes at least 72 hours to get an accurate reading.
1.) If you are in windows , make sure you have the proper drivers installed. If you don't have them , google it.
2.)Plug USB cord in and allow it to Mount USB Storage. Copy the ROM(a.ka install zip) to the SDCARD.
3.) If you are on another rom that has the Extended Power Menu, hold the power button down and choose "Recovery" from the menu. Otherwise, open up Rommanager and reboot into recovery.
4.)If you get the original 3e recovery, choose "Reinstall Packages" .
5.) When you finally get to the Clock Work Recovery screen, you can choose to wipe your data. Otherwise proceed to step 6.
6.) Choose install zip from sdcard, choose the zip file and choose yes to install.
7.) The most IMPORTANT THING THAT I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH. AFTER YOU INSTALL THE ROM, OR ANY OTHER ROM, REBOOT AND LET THE PHONE SIT FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES.
8.) If you are having issues, it might be due to not wiping then entire phone. Sometimes it is best to wipe DATA, CACHE , DBDATA and SYSTEM. But CAUTION, you will lose your apps , so please make a backup first.
9.) Enjoy and send me lots of thanks or money
Install Instructions For Voodoo Recovery:
1.) Copy file to your SDCARD. ( either mount via USB or push via ADB)
2.)Reboot into Recovery. From the power menu(hold power for 2 seconds), choose Recovery. Or poweroff the phone by holding the power button for at least 10 seconds, then hold the power button + volume up and volume down all at the same time. Or if you have the drivers installed and the android-sdk, adb reboot recovery works wonders.
3.)Once in the RED RECOVERY, choose install zip from
SDCARD.
4.)Choose your zip, install and Reboot.
5.)Wait at least 15 minutes before playing, let it settle. Build the Dalvick Cache.
It was just re-born, it needs a moment to take all the greatness in. Like NEO coming out of the matrix for the first time.
6.) Send thanks
And if you are having problems , please try to get me a logcat. Also I am available on IRC at the #INFUSE4G or #teamwhiskey on irc.freenode.net. And you can also contact me VIA private messages.

The Camera Program from UCK3 had a sensor issue, it would constantly run eating your battery. Also the front facing camera , like GTG's will force close if you take a picture . We are working on it
so which one did you include? the one from UCKE5? or other?
What is the difference between using the voodoo kernel included with this ROM and a voodoo kernel from infused 1.3?
None, they are both the same. I have noticed sometimes when you install it over each other things get odd. The reason why I asked for people who already have to install the ROM with outis because of that.

Welcome, This is My first page Photon OS ROM I uploaded, These ROM are based on Liberty ROMs. I modified it to work on HTC HD Mini Phones (Photon). This has Multi Languages support, It's Fast and smooth ROM for HTC HD Mini.
Most Things are working.
Known problems:
- Audio is Mono, means it doesn't have Stereo (Left & Right) Audio.
- Audio via Car's Bluetooth for Calling doesn't work only, but it's activated.
- Video Capture Recording doesn't stop, freezing for seconds then quits unexpectedly.
- Video Player is buggy, it plays videos fine at 240p but higher quality and above not very well.
- Sometimes USB cable doesn't wake automatically until you unlock the screen, Checking the (Stay Awake) in Settings is recommended.
- with some small other bugs,
Note: You have two options about Wifi & GPS, (You should install it after Phonerty Installed at CWM Recovery)
1- if you want Wifi, you will have to choose +Wifi-Photon, this will make Wifi work normally. but you won't have GPS.
2- if you want GPS, you will have to choose +GPS-Photon, this will make GPS work, and Wifi will work But connecting to network by Wifi may cause your CPU Clock at 100%, surfing internet by this once will be okay for about hour. and after that you should Turn Off Wifi and Restart Android.
By default the ROM is set on +Wifi-Photon. save those +two files on SDCard.. and you can always choose whatever time you need it.
Tip: Some Devices may have audio issue while calling person, So just tap on Speaker Button two times while in Call.
With 3rd Party Apps, you can Record video by using Videocam illusion Pro, and for Radio you can use Spirit FM. or find another apps that works.
It's Better & Recommended to Partition your SDCard using CWM Recovery in Advanced menu (this will erase SDCard completely) & to have a lot of space for many reason. choose 1GB Size, and Swap size 32MB. or whatever you like to be. and then Install/Open app "Link2SD" to active your Second Partition ext3.
This is only for installing on NAND, SDCard test not available.
- Note: Backup your Important Files, This may erase your Photon's Partitions automatically, also it may delete the "Android" folder with ".android_secure" folders on SDCard if include.

Steps: (Skip steps 1 & 2 if you already installed Munjeni's CWM Recovery LK Boot)
1- Beginning, Extract the "LK Boot" to some where you like to begin, open folder and extract the "LK Boot Photonic SDCard.zip" and copy its files in "LK Boot Photonic SDCard" without folder to the Root of SDCard, also copy the Google Apps with CM9 Photon ROM to SDCard.
2- Installing Recovery, In the Phone WM6.5, Open Explorer and navigate to SDCard and touch at HaRET, or if you're on another CWM Recovery, Restart & in White HTC press & Hold Volume Down until you're in FastBoot Mode, You should be in Fast Boot Mode to Install Recovery both in WM6.5 or others, Connect the USB cable to the PC (it may ask you the Divers needed for the device) and the Drivers are in the folder in "LK Boot - Photon" in "Google Windows USB driver" folder. After that click on “Update.bat” and Install both of them, when it’s finished fine try reboot it.
3- Installing the CM9 ROM, On HTC Boot Screen White Press and hold “Up Volume” the phone until you see entered Recovery, So in Recovery *, Go to (Install from SDCARD), then (Choose zip from SDCard), and now you're on the microSDHC, so choose the (Phonerty ROM) and choose Yes- Install, Wait about Minutes and it should be done, and then reboot the Phone.
Remember to Install the Google Apps after the OS installation completed, or you can also reboot Android to come back to recovery by press & holding “up volume” phone’s on HTC Boot Screen and choose the "Install from SDCard" and then "Choose zip from SDCard" so choose the Google Apps to Install, done and reboot.
* Make sure that you Wipe your Phone & format manually the Boot, Cahe, System, Data, by Recovery. only be careful that you don't format your SDCard at Recovery time.
More info about Restoring/Installing: Schlund's Information Page for HTC HD Mini
"Finally, you're ready to go Android. Have a nice try.."
The ROM is based on (WinSuk's 5 November 2012 Liberty CM9.1 ROM)
Kernel Source is made by Munjeni and Derefas, Kernel Link, or click this Link for more informations.
Themes,
As a Tip, Don't do that, only if you're tired of the CM9 theme or you've backed up Nicely.
You can simply Download the CM9's Themes on the Web. but it's not easy as MIUI, and at this stage it can be risky too (specially CM10 and above are risky), if you do wrong things, your phone may restart and wont reach android Boot... so you have to reinstall Android or the User knowledge knows to do. Do a backup before doing this, and if you lost your control on Android, your datas wont erase but you have to connect to computer and doing uneasy things.
All you have to do is active the Theme in CyanogenMod Theme chooser's Settings, And this a tested Theme by myself on my HTC HD Mini, iPhone Theme, Enjoy with Cyanogen Themes.
Soon I may add more Themes.

I'm stuck on the CM9 boot animation. I was running SCREAM CM7 before so I wiped the caches and formatted data, boot and system mounts but its still stuck on the boot animation. Been there for over 10 mins now.
Any ideas?
I am testing this rom yesterday. but I have a problem. I dont understand but I think this rom's battery life is not good. because I full charged the battery and I started to wait. last 8 hours I did not anything. no call no sms no internet no anymore. only open screenlock for the battery level control. now the battery level is 60%
I think munjeni's cm9 battery life is better than this rom
Found something in [email protected] commands for gps, but you need to try if it will enable gps! For this procedure you need to comunicate with radio!
Procedure is:
You need 2 window opened at same time. First window:
Code:
adb shell
stop rill-daemon
In seccond window:
Code:
adb shell
cat /dev/smd0 &
Back to first window again:
Code:
echo 'ATV1' >/dev/smd0
echo 'ATE1' >/dev/smd0
echo '[email protected]' >/dev/smd0
In seccond window you will see response from radio something like "start gps ok"... If gps message was ok, close seccond window and back to first window:
Code:
killall -9 cat
start rill-daemon
Close first window and... let me know if gps working! For info I have done new version for Aria and will upload it today to aria forum!
thank you I can not understand. I did it what you say .
result : I did not saw any message in second window from radio ?
I'm not sure I made the right
Ok, so its something liike not supported on photon

Now, my phone see satellites. I tried navigation... OK! )))
I didn't want hack HD Mini Sense 3.5. Only try something to do.

Hi guys, This message was sent by new user that is not allowed to post in development forum, so he say he got gps working using these libs! These libs is from old SDK so I think there will be (maybe?) segfaults! After you replace libs, and if gps realy working you need to look in logcat to be surre that if there is not a problems!

Still hoping someone can help. I wondered if it might be my SD Card which is and 8 gb SD HC. Backed up all my data, formatted it, copied the ROM zips back and reflashed. On first boot, same story; I'm stuck in the boot animation. I'm running CWM 5.0.2.7 and I've repeatedly flashed CM7 ROMS so I don't think its a CWM issue.
Is there something I need to do prior to upgrading to CM7?
Any ideas at all?

another thing Munjeni, I tried your new Aria ROM [9 July 2012], but it stuck at the Boot screen, I can see the new Cyanogen Man Logo.

ELdaArk, did you installed the new LK boot from munjeni?
I think maybe boot.img need to be repacked, or at least maybe not enought space for system? Try adb shell df and see how many free mb is in system partition!

NOW INTRUCTIONS--[--Unlock bootloader and root your explorer (if you haven't already) follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415223 to root. Dont create a partition just yet.
--Download cm-7-20120807-UNOFFICIAL BUILD #4-pico.zip from mediafire link below and copy it anywhere on sdcard.
--Download gaaps from link below and copy it on sdcard
--Boot into recovery
-- (optional but recommended) go to backup and restore and select backup. This will backup your phone just as it is so that if u ever wanna revert back you can just restore from recovery. (Thanx Liverpool_fan for tip)
--Go into mounts and storage and format /system and /boot and come back and wipe data/factory reset (even if you have any custom rom installed)
--Select Install zip from sdcard-> choose zip from sdcard-> browse to where you have copied the zip file and select it
--Wait for the installation to complete and download latest kernel from link below and flash it in recovery. (format of kernal MDD so update to the latest one)
--flash gaaps to install basic google apps.
--Now select reboot and wait for your phone to boot up.
--If you want to move your dalvik cache to sdext first you will have to partition your sd card. 512mb partition is enough. Use minitoolwizard to partition your sdcard. Partition it in only ext2, ext3 or ext4 format because fat32 is not supported. You can also use recovery (advanced>partition sdcard) to partition but it will erase all data on your sdcard so back it up.
--Now dowload a2sd.zip (credit- Sakindia) and flash it through recovery. You can find a2sd.zip where the kernals are uploaded (check below)
--Reboot and go into Terminal emulator and type "a2sd cachesd" (without quotes)
--Wait for the working to finish and reboot. You have 148mb internal memory free now. :good:
--Alternatively people are saying that s2e is more stable. So download s2e from play store.
--check everything except application data. Reboot.
NOTE: Either flash a2sd or install s2e.
--Enjoy.!!
(OPTIONAL)--
--Download titanium backup and come to the app list now long press on any app and select move data to sd. It will ask you to create a directory, accept! Now select menu button while still in titanium backup and select batch. Come down to option "move app data to sd". Run it to get more internal memory but I recommend to use class 6 sdcard if you are moving app data.

Fantastic work!
But I suggest you to change the thread name, and including the following "[TUTORIAL]", because poeple will think that is the main thread to this rom.
Regards!
a nice guide to help people:good:, one thing to though is you need to say "backup your old rom with cmw 1st before installing any other" (just incase) and also to stop conflicts from other roms that have been installed you really need to format system, boot, in mounts/storage menu aswell as factory wipe..............
You sir just made my day.

I know, I installed the Consumer Preview in order to try it out, problem is I was doing multiple things at the same time and accidentally installed it over Vista.
I was too lazy to reinstall Vista back so I just decided to wait for the final version to be released as the preview works just fine for everything I do with my laptop... Well until now anyway, ha.

Lol..
(I would use jaggy's tutorial to ask but since it hasn't been active for ten days I thought I'd be better to ask here instead of bumping the other thread, if I'm wrong I apologize)
So yeah, I'm still at the rooting process and it seems I'm definitely out of luck on this one.
So first off, I apparently managed to unlock the bootloader (and it IS unlocked, when I'm in bootloader mode I do have the "*** unlocked ***" on top of the screen) and at the same time keeping my apps, settings, etc...This was the first flag that something was wrong.
Adding the Recovery seems to have worked out fine, however when I tried to install the Superuser.zip I got the apparently not-so-uncommon "(Status 0) Installation aborted" message. I did some research and tried the method of removing the extra "updater-script~" from the archive but it did not work. Tried the method of doing a nandroid backup and then installing Superuser but no luck either.
I'm getting seriously hopeless, any idea on what I might have done wrong and how to get Superuser working?
Which recovery did you install, I was having some problems flashing anything with non-yannou's (I know i wrote it stupid but, you've got the idea )
Anyway, give a try to flash some rom, not sure if it will work without superuser installed, but nothing worse can happen (I think)

I installed the Recovery given by jaggy's tutorial. But Recovery isn't the problem as far as I know, since I've the option to install .zip file when in Recovery mode. My only issue comes from the fact that the Superuser file won't install itself.
Frequent Q&A (maybe?)
Q: WHY FAQ FIRST?
A: Because, I have seen some of you guys are so lazy to scroll down a bit to read this as this is essential post I think. And further more, I don't want you to brick your phone because of your lack of reading skill .
Q: Am I advised to do anything?
A: READ THIS CAREFULLY everyone. Since I changed the partition layout for more convenient to work on kitkat or future Android so I advise you to do a oneclick heimdall back to BML first, do a full wipe except for the sdcard and then flash the kitkat zip. Once u r in TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again (with or without gapps) . I might change the partition table several times until I have the good space calculation for rom and gapps tho, so this procedure is advised/required - just took u 30s to do that tho.
I will also mark the zip/update that have another different table that required this procedure then, otherwise, you can update via dirty flash.
Link to heimdall package: AntonX's Basic with a twist kernel [BML]
And here is the recommended procedure:
1. Make backup or whatever u need then copy the ROM into ur sdcard.
2. Reboot into Recovery and full wipe except sdcard.
3. Reboot into Download mode and Heimdall oneclick BML ROM/kernel
4. Flash the Slimkat build from CWM 5.x
5. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Slimkat ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb. That's all. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal is not available on Slimkat.
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: Is this really KITKAT? And can I eat it?
A: Yes, yes it is. And u r advised to cook it before eating tho. Enjoy your meal then .
More that has been answered here.

Hmm weird, lets me check the build again, or I might upload my previous build insted (w/o ota support). Interesting that the only change in this build compare to previous one running on mine is OTA suport and it was cleaner build (on mine was dirty one).
Oh wait, did u flash the build again via TWRP? If not, I am sorry that I forgot telling ya that once u r in TWRP, u have to flash it again (u know how to use TWRP rite?)
Anw, u can still heimdall again n flash slimbean tho so dunt worry

Did u flash the ROM again in TWRP? I mean:
1. Copy the ROM to sdcard then Heimdall BML kernel
2. Full wipe except sdcard and flash Slimkat build
3. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again.
4. Reboot.

Use the Combo volume + volume - and power button to boot into Recovery tho. If u wiped b4 heimdall then after flashing slimkat, it should bring u into TWRP. that was weird unless u hadn't wiped :/.
now again:
- installed fresh 2.3.6.
- installed AntonX-Basic_with_a_twist-v1.1.0-OC_UV
- wait 5~ minute on boot logo !!
- boot on cwm and install your rom
- auto reboot into TWRP
- install rom again
- wipe
- Reboot
- Phone boot into KitKat
Thank You !!!
jeez! no dao!
its working for me!
i just cant take screen shot! but it works promise DDDDD
THANKS! DDDDDDDDDDD

I added the right procedure onto OP anyway so everyone else should follow it easier. And FYI, u should have OTA updater works from now on for updating the ROM in future. U should receive a notification automatically everytime I upload a new build then. One more thing I have to do is finding a way to include Changelog and mayb look over GPS then .

I can take screenshots hehe teeheee but no way I'm gonna upload them since my MOM got the phone back
P/s: I will make it weekly as long as the upload speed isn't affected by that stupid issue of my country's internet tho.
Good Luck to you and Good Luck for us too !!
Thank You !!
Bug:-
- lack of some useful cm Features (everyone know that)
- reboot after wallpaper set (once)
- lack of native advance overvlock/underclock options.
- phone connected on USB debugging even after disable from devs options
btw now i am confirm we will have perfect stable Kitkat )

I'm gonna exclude the OC and UV from the next update anw. It causes more trouble to the stability than it helps on the battery tho. Plus, it's good to let the phone rest for a while, 15 to 30 seconds after every boot finishes to ensure that u won't have freeze/reboot afterwards. and ye. Slimkat just hit the Beta phrase yet, features are slowly merged tho so stay tuned for OTA gift .
Thank you so much for is dao!
OTA works great. Is ART functioning? My SELinux status says Enforcing. Is that a problem?

MultiROM is a one-of-a-kind multi-boot mod. It can boot any Android ROM as well as other systems like Ubuntu Touch, once they are ported to that device. Besides booting from device's internal memory, MultiROM can boot from USB drive connected to the device via OTG cable. The main part of MultiROM is a boot manager, which appears every time your device starts and lets you choose ROM to boot. You can see how it looks on the left image below and in gallery. ROMs are installed and managed via modified TWRP recovery. You can use standard ZIP files to install secondary Android ROMs and MultiROM even has its own installer system, which can be used to ship other Linux-based systems.
Features:
* Multiboot any number of Android ROMs
* Restore nandroid backup as secondary ROM
* Boot from USB drive attached via OTG cable
You can also watch a video which shows it in action.
WARNING
It is dangerous. This whole thing is basically one giant hack - none of these systems are made with multibooting in mind. It is no longer messing with data partition or boot sector, but it is possible that something goes wrong and you will have to flash factory images again. Make backups. Always.
IMPORTANT
I'm not responsible for anything, you do all this on your own risk.
Once you have flashed and set up MultiROM, don't flash another boot.img using fastboot or normally. Always go to TheMultiROM Menu (3 bars in the top right corner) to flash ROMs/kernels or other mods.
If you want to uninstall MultiROM, just flash the MultiROM uninstaller.
I am not certainly sure about the compatibility with stock Roms, I still need to test this yet.
Your device must not be encrypted.
When booting another ROM, you'll notice that in some cases, you can enter the recovery of the boot.img of the ROM. Please don't use it, flash everything using MultiROM TWRP.
INSTALLATION
Make sure you are on a Rom compatible with one of these kernels and flash it or use the non-kexec workaround. (See important Notices)
Reboot into MultiROM TWRP and flash the MultiROM installer
That's it. You can now go to TheMultiROM Menu (3 bars in the top right corner) to start flashing other ROMs.
Adding ROMs
Go to recovery, select TheMultiROM Menu (3 bars in the top right corner) -> Add ROM. Select the ROM's zip file and confirm.
Using USB drive
During installation, recovery lets you select install location. Plug in the USB drive, wait a while and press "refresh" so that it shows partitions on the USB drive. You just select the location (extX, NTFS and FAT32 partitions are supported) and proceed with the installation.
If you wanna use other than default FAT32 partition, just format it in PC. If you don't know how/don't know where to find out how, you probably should not try installing MultiROM.
If you are installing to NTFS or FAT32 partition, recovery asks you to set image size for all the partitions - this cannot be easilly changed afterward, so choose carefully. FAT32 is limited to maximum of 4095MB per image - it is limitation of the filesystem, I can do nothing about that.
Installation to USB drives takes a bit longer, because the flash drive is (usually) slower and it needs to create the images, so installation of Ubuntu to 4Gb image on my pretty fast USB drive takes about 20 minutes.
Enumerating USB drive can take a while in MultiROM menu, so when you press the "USB" button in MultiROM, wait a while (max. 30-45s) until it searches the USB drive. It does it by itself, no need to press something, just wait.
Updating/changing ROMs
1. Primary ROM (Internal)
Flash ROM's ZIP file as usual, do factory reset if needed (it won't erase secondary ROMs)
Go to TheMultiROM Menu (3 bars in the top right corner) in recovery and do Inject curr. boot sector.
2. Secondary Android ROMs
If you want to change the ROM, delete it and add new one. To update ROM, follow these steps:
Go to TheMultiROM Menu (3 bars in the top right corner) -> List ROMs and select the ROM you want to update.
Select "Flash ZIP" and flash ROM's ZIP file.

Gonna test it today and will provide a feedback. Thx for work ?
Ok, so can't root it - Systemless method with patching doesn't work anymore. Also can't flash any zip to main ROM - neither by main menu (flashing, but where - no idea), nor by ROM list (main ROM is hidden and cannot make it visible via settings, resets every time to hidden status).

You need to use my kernel; it can be found in the second post.
EDIT: I can reproduce your problem and will check it once I get home (~ 1-2 days).

Actually I'm using your kernel. Systemless Root in recovery says like it's already patched and terminal returns "abort operation". Looks like you already patched it by Systemless SU, so I can't repatch it again. If you did so, revert this change. By other side, MultiROM along with TWRP works good, except zip flashing from main TWRP menu - it flashes, everything seems to be good, but actually changes did not appear to be applied on main ROM, even when I inject everything, like described in guide (tried both Systemless SU and DRM fix - neither works :/). Also there is bug with main ROM - can't uncheck "Hide internal ROM", so main ROM couldn't be shown in ROM list. If any ideas - I'm up for testing.

Alright - systemless root doesn't work because my kernel uses a combined ramdisk, meaning the actual ramdisk of the ROM is in /sbin/ramdisk.cpio. SuperSU doesn't know that, tries to treat the main ramdisk as a normal one and fails (hence the abort). I'll try to find a solution...
I remember using this on the original XZ! So great it's being worked on. Will do some testing tomorrow. Thanks a ton, dev.

We need either edit Systemless SU zip to patch proper boot image or make regular SU zip working (aka system mode) - for now, with .185 kernel it gives bootloops due to SELinux changes
but the z3+/z4 dont have any rom and dont have any romer ╮(︶︿︶)╭

Fixed, please re-downloaded the boot image (from the same link), I have updated it. You can now also use the MultiROM Manager to install MultiROM. It can download TWRP, MultiROM and my kernel.
Useless till we dont have at least 2 roms... BUT HEY Thx for making it for the future maybe?

We have some unstable CM builds for now.
So, tested it for a while. Bugs: second ROM doesn't booting properly - just rebooting to black screen, then red LED blinks 3 times and reboots to that state again and then just after second reboot boots to multirom ROM menu.
@MotexT, yes, for me same behavior. Even stock kernel sometimes reboot device on bootanimation.

Try now; use the MultiROM Manager to upgrade.
ia this compatible with .253 stock and CM build by Quarx?
I've just ordered a 16GB microSD to test this
You said you haven't tested it with stock ROM well that's precisely what I plan on doing... I'm running CM13 and after a couple of days of research there doesn't seem to be any solution in sight for the camera bugs. However after seeing your thread, I figured if all goes well I could be running CM13 daily and just reboot to the stock ROM when I need to shoot a video (necessary for my professional activity... I'd rather do this than always have my old phone with me).
I'll keep you updated once I get the microSD.
Edit: looks like your server is offline, I can't download your APK... I'll try to download it again tomorrow.
