hey guys,
just a question: when there will come out a new update after 4.4.4 (probably Android L), how will we be able to unroot because we can't downgrade anymore when we have installed 4.4.4... I always use the sticky topic "GUIDE: how to restore Moto G to stock" and use the flashall.bat script to restore everything to 4.3 when there is an update. Thoughts?
Greetings
We just wait for the 4.4.4 factory images.

Yes..u can root the phone..!:good:
While you can unlock the bootloader from the Motorola website, you will be able to root it, so you can always root, no matter the Android version (unless Moto decides to go all Samsung on us and change the security system in the bootloader)

Hi,I'm new to android rooting flashing etc as I was in s60v5th previously.
I have xt1033 Indian version.
I previously read a thread about unlocking phone before upgrading to 4.4.(mine was 4.4.3,later upgraded to 4.4.4)
Is there any problem in unlocking a 4.4.4?
What about rooting process?
Unlock-->flash super user zip??
Difference between stock recovery & any custom one?
I read about backing some partition containing imei,WiFi Mac address etc. When to do that? After unlocking.
Or should I wait till android L release? (As I want that)

You need to flash stock firmware in order to install the official OTA.. If you don't want, just wait for someone to make a flashable zip of lollipop ,then flash using twrp or cwm..
Hi guys. I updated my Moto G to the Lollipop (and I didn't like), and my bootloader was updated to the 41.10 version, and, when I downgraded to the KitKat, it show a bug in the screen, and I looked in XDA that there is 'cause the KitKat is running in Lollipop bootloader. I want to know if I can downgrade my bootloader to a KitKat version?
Thanks...
If that was possible there wouldn't be so many "I bricked my moto g because I downgraded to 4.4.2 instead of 4.4.4 for some stupid reason" threads, now would there? Anyways, it looks as if your phone can still turn on so just look in any of the threads that tell you how to fix that problem. No, you can't downgrade the bootloader version.
Ok guys so the lollipop's ART runtime was driving me nuts because i coudn't play none of my favourite games, and then when flashing 5.0.1, I came across a bootloop. when I went to downgrade back to 4.4.4 i forgot to delete the lines that flash the partition table and motoboot. now I have no OS installed and the phone's battery is dead. at the moment im trying to make a factory cable. but i still need some answers. like; can I flash 5.0.2 leaked rom and will it boot? and after i flash 5.0.2 will i have the chance to go back to 4.4.4? and if none of these alternatives fixes it is there by chance any way to revive it through flashing a custom rom or is there a modified gpt.bin which will help me?
i've just donwloaded a 5.0.2 leaked rom found on this thread:
anyways thanks for the help in advance, if any one got through a similar case or knows a thread which could help me, i would be much apreciated if you send the link.
P.S: I really need my phone back , right now i can't buy a new one
P.S.S:
Moto G XT1033
8Gb
i had it flashed on the brazilian leaked OTA 5.0 by a XDA member called W3ND31
