[Q] Please Help! Need to Factory Restore - AT&T LG G3

Hi Guys,
I am new to rooting and messing around with phones. I recently got my G3 and loving it so far. My issue here is that after I rooted the phone, I sort of deleted the apps that came preinstalled with the phone and messed up my phone. After trying to restore to factory settings, those apps are still not installing.
Is there anyway I can restore using company file that came preinstalled on the phone?

Neverends has this thread that works perfectly. http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/unroot-return-to-factory-stock-att-lg-g3-t2820827 [/URL]
If you can use a windows 7 computer. The flash time on win 7 is about 250 seconds. Win 8 takes MUCH longer, about 45 min. Good luck.

Best practice for future is to install titanium backup. That way you can freeze the apps you don't want/need. They will then be removed from your draw and will not run. If you ever want one back you can just unfreeze it.

[Q] New Rom TB has no backup. plz help.

I think I have done it. Played around 1 too many times. Ive been all over/up for the past few hours. I lashed to Phoenix 4.5 after having 4.0. I have Titanium Backup. Did the steps including Odin to stock, master reset. Rom installed, went to TB and selected batch restore apps plus data. It was a long day at work, and 730am here now. I cannot restore any apps I had previous. Its only showing me what I have on now... all not backed up. Is there any way to get my old apps back? I have tried looking around and honestly feel like Ive done it this time. Can I go back to another batch of my previous apps? TB worked for me before prior to flashing Phoenix 4.0, installing and recovering apps and data. I have restarted phone also. And I do believe I saw my old apps and clicked restore in batch and they were all gone, new ones being shown, the generic ones preloaded with this rom. Help?

Dude, did you move the folder from the SD to your laptop before Master Clear??
Gotta say I did not. That's a bummer to say the absolute least.Had a ton of stuff. Well, thanks for reply. It worked before, but didn't do master clear that time. My rom days are over. Don't have time. Thanks again.

HELP

So, I purchased my Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate) last weekend. I had it rooted and everything was fine. Then I got rid of some of the bloatware. I wrote a couple of programs for myself to use, so I needed to enable side-loading. I did that-successfully.
First sign of a problem was when I went to the marketplace and it would not download any single app that I tried. So, I went to restore the phone using the backup I made, but some reason it wasn't there.
Then I decided to revert to factory settings. I did a hard reset, but the problem was still not resolved. Then I found a thread on here about Odin 3. I've been trying to use that all night but the best I've gotten is to the File Analysis step. I've tried at least 10 different times.
I'm trying to get everything back up and running and preferably rooted again so that I can use my Titanium backup to restore all my apps and settings.
I'm at my wits end, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Factory reset would not solve any problems that may have been caused by deleting core apps. Is your phone rooted and nand unlocked (baseband) or just rooted? Are you running a custom rom? If so you need to reflash the rom after clearing cache and dalvik cache. If you still have the original rom then you can reflash an official samsung firmware using odin, look for your handsets firmware on www.samfirmwares.com
Other than that you could try finding out which apps are needed and using root explorer you may be able to fix the version you have. If the market is your only issue then try clearing data and cache settings/manage apps/market and download manager (two different apps)
How did you root your phone? Did you install a custom ROM yet? What bloatware did you remove, and how did you go about it?
Ok. In the wee hours this morning I finally got Odin to work and now everything works as it should. I switched computers and the program worked right away. Intersting tidbit though, I accidentally left the sim card in during the reflash and I had no ill effects. I'm actually wondering if that helped me.
Thanks tina333.
nenol, I used the one touch root. I have not installed a custom rom and I don't remember exactly which of the programs I uninstalled. I used Titanium backup to both backup my apps and to delete the bloatware.
There are very few system apps that are not needed by the system, titanium only backs up data by default. Be careful what you delete and always research first

Need Help with factory reset

Hi and thanks for reading -
I rooted my skyrocket and removed a handful of apps using titanium pro, including stock messaging, web, media player and some other things. After factory reset, I noticed those apps are still removed. I tried to restore them using titanium pro and I waited a good 45 minutes for the messaging app to restore and nothing happened, so I'm thinking something is wrong. I'd like to restore my phone to default settings, including all installed apps (as if I just bought it). Can someone point me in the direction of how this can be done? As I understand it, I need to install a custom ROM. I would also be willing to experiment with ICS releases for this device.
Any advice is appreciated
Cheers
Jesse

Yep, once you uninstall the app, it's gone.
For next time, here are a couple of tips.
1) Instead of using Titanium to uninstall an app, use the "freeze" function. Then use the phone a couple weeks and if all is golden, then go ahead and uninstall the app.
2) Always make a nandroid backup before doing anything crazy.

GO here you can download the official att rom. If you do the counter reset then flash this rom it will put your device back to stock. This wont trigger the counter. You will have to create an account hope this helps

What's a counter? Thanks for all the replies! I'm currently trying to get ICS to work on the skyrocket, but it was laggy, so I'm thinking about going for the stock after all.

The flash counter, it keeps track so Samsung knows how many times you've been naughty.
I flashed mine back to stock with help. My older thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582357
Follow the process and everything will be back to stock. Also, after first boot. Shutdown and then bring up the recovery menu. Preform a factory reset.

[Q] how to prevent system update - P3113

Does anyone know how to prevent a software update on a rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0? *
My tablet auto updated to the new Jelly Bean about 3 wks ago and I hated it. *I have since restored my wonderful tablet back to the ICS 4.0 it came with and rooted it. *But 2 days ago it auto downloaded the software update again and will only allow me to postpone the update rather than completely refuse it.
I do not want to have to go through the whole process again. *Does anyone know how I can prevent the update from happening? *TY!
Freeze updater.apk with titanium backup.

Hooray - it seems to have worked! I wasn't able to find the specific file name you mentioned, but I did freeze 2 "system update" files and that has removed the update notification from my notify list and also doesn't open the update postponed window any longer from the about/software update settings either. Thank you so much, MultipleMonomials, ty, ty!
Still having problems...
Well, it seems I spoke too soon regarding my last post. All seemed to work well after freezing two "system update" files using ROM Toolbox Pro. However, after shutting my tablet down that night and turning it back on in the morning, I have since been locked up at the Samsung logo screen. I've spent the past few days trying to research my options, did the fix permissions, reset to factory default, tried restoring backups (which I didn't have), all that stuff, and I am having no luck whatsoever.
I can boot into CWM6 Recovery mode and also boot into download mode, but otherwise, I cannot get it to load past the Samsung logo and I'm officially stumped now.
Can anyone offer some suggestions as to what I should try next?
Flash a stock-based ROM without wiping data. Make a backup first.

TWRP Question - so confused

Hi all.
Hope someone can help me. When I got my Samsung S8+, I quickly installed TWRP and then rooted it with magisk the same day I received it.
After that I removed a LOT of bloatware and installed hundreds of apps and everything was fine for 6 months.
One day it gave me a weird lock error, because I think I accidentally removed the OEM Unlock and the phone went crazy.
I had no phone for a few days but eventually I managed to flash stock rom and phone went back to normal.
I lost root, but I managed to keep all my data.
Now I want to see if I can get root again. However, all the tutorials to get TWRP require that I wipe my phone.
My questions are:
Can I root my phone without wiping all my data? Is there a chance that my bootloader is unlocked already or did flashing stock rom remove that?
If I have to wipe my data, how can I keep all my apps (and the app data). I have Titan Backup but that needs root to work so I don't see how to save the app data?
Thanks

Inorder to root, you need twrp and in order to get twrp working you need to wipe everything first.
I don't know if there is the possibility to backup app data without root, however i found this articel.
Just because I'm curious, which apps are important for you to have a local backup? I went through all my apps and didn't found a single app which isn't either naturally stored in the cloud (like whatsapp, FB, Snapchat,..) or has the function to export/backup things like tasker. :fingers-crossed:
Hi Jaannis.
I have a lot of apps that do not store their data in the cloud but locally in the phone. Without being too specific, some of these are notes, some are social apps (connections with hundreds of different people around the world with conversations, pictures and videos) and some are personal collected data.
I managed to migrate all the data the last 5 years using Titan and I think it's silly after managing to save them suddenly to lose them. On the other hand it kind of looks like there is no other way. Without Titan backup working, I will need to lose everything.
