Running life 360, nova prime, ivona, tasker, android wear, sales force chatter, pushover, notify my android, ifttt, hangouts, used the phone about an hour and a half. Screen brightness at 99%. Also greenify and clean master. I also removed bloat
i have to say im OCD and i dont like to think i have things running that i dont need, so with the help of some posts in xda for carrier IQ and knowledge i have from previous droids and the help of android tuner, i got alot of non used apps removed and using only about 1.2 gb of memory on my lg, to me that is still alot

Impressive.
Is that Clean Master the Anti Virus or cache cleaner?

i wouldnt mind rooting mine, but i bought it retail so i could try out the phone and return it before the return policy ... im that guy. but nonetheless i will probably get it in a little bit with my plan since i am on a business plan. But when not rooted, battery it looks like, compared to those that are, just cannot compare. I am barely squeezing 4 hours of screen time on a charge that will last me all day. I would hope to do a little bit better.
Today i went from 10am and it is now 415pm. i am at 66% with 1 hour and 40 mins screen time ... personally, that's pretty ehhh My nexus 5 with Android L got better than that. sooooo anyone else that IS NOT rooted getting the same results as me or doing a lot better or worse??

That's about what I was getting before I switched to ART. Phone seems to run cooler on ART too.

the cache cleaner, i dont use an av on my phone.
today i went to a client site and i talked on the phone almost all the way there and back,
i have been on battery for 4 hours 4 min, 1 hr talk time, 1 hr screen time, and gps for about 20 minutes and i am still at 83%... i removed all the lg stuff i wont use and only allowed things to run with greenify that i wouldnt use and i still have all network apps (google now, life360, tasker, etc) all working 100%

Rooting it shouldn't effect returning it, just wipe it to stock and remove superuser

The on screen time was 2 hours I think. I played a few games last night for about 30 min before bed at 230am and it was about 42% battery when I went to bed

Yes I do feel it is very hot and I hate the dim that it does...but battery isn't bad

I can confirm that phone runs hot when screes has been on for a while

Not rooted
Running Greenify
Auto-brightness at 60%
Always on: WiFi, BT, push everything
I am considering root to remove some apps and kill CIQ, and perhaps change the resolution all in an effort to get more out of the battery but I am not sure I will squeeze too much more out of it.

Battery life help

When I first rooted my phone, I had great battery life. But I wanted more and so I tried one of the many programs on the market to control my CPU to try and get more out of it. The exact opposite happened. My battery life is now worse than when it was stock. I uninstalled hoping that would undo the changes even wiped the phone and applied the Rom again. Nothing seems to work.
Any help would be appreciated! I don't know a lot but I kno you lovely people do!

Try using Juice Defender. The free version is very good, I have not used the pay version. I get like 1.4-2x the battery life.

get a 2g/3g toggle widget. i keep my phone on 2g mode most of the time, ill drop about 1% an hour
There is a thread on calibrating your battery if you search. What I do is let battery fully die then fully charge your phone to 100% then let it go a few minutes past that like 15 minutes. Using root explorer go into folders: data - system and delete batterystat.bin file. Phone should then calibrate to what a full charge is when you unplug it. See if you get better results like I do. I also like to delete batterystat.bin before I let phone fully die. But my steps may be overkill.

Definitely calibrate the battery...I always do that after flashing a rom....give it a few days to soak in as well....also you could try undervolting your kernel.Search for a guide on how to do it...varies with different kernels...I recommend Killer Sloths scripts....worked well for me

first, there are many threads about this so, there was not necessary to open a new one. Anyway, if you are using a custom rom, those have usually been overclocked and undervolted in their scripts so theres no need for you to use any apps. In fact, using any app would eventually conflict with the rom itself. So, what I would suggest is that you read what your rom changelog states and see if your rom has tweaks for the battery.
Also, If youre flashing, you should have recovery which allows for battery stat wipe in the advanced menu. Follow reinaldos method and use recovery to wipe stats. Same result, slightly more (average)user friendly. IMHO

This is all misinformation, period.
http://www.androidcentral.com/wiping-battery-stats-doesnt-improve-battery-life-says-google-engineer
To the OP, it's highly possible that your battery is failing. Either order a replacement like an Anker or call #at&greed and get an OEM replacement sent at no cost. When you pull your battery, if it's buldging on the large surface(s), it's failing.

Lets start off by saying that this situation is a back and forth banter.
I can also say that your post about misinformation, is misinformation, and supply a link to another website with a short write-up... watch
http://lifehacker.com/5786717/get-b...ted-android-phone-by-wiping-its-battery-stats
See its just that easy.
Negating anyone and calling them misinformed is selfish and egotistical, based on half of the story.
If this process works for so many of us (AND IT WORKS FOR ME), why disregard our opinions? IM my opinion this process works. I have used it every now and then, and my battery performs the same if not better than a factory, non-conditioned stock battery. Why are my battery and others who use this method, providing first hand testimony to its validity?
On your other note about failing batteries, thank you for that information. I didnt know about that, and I think this kind of input was necessary in this case.
IMO
Edit: All batteries lose their ability to charge and hold charge over time. Conditions like heat, moisture, etc. will all effect your battery, and all batteries will need replacement eventually.

I agree with you completely! There is no doubt after seeing his green recovery picture on the article page, I knew that it was an older article. The "age" of "information" does not mean its less true though... just saying. I mean I know that information about concrete facts used today in education are not any less valid than when discovered. The world is still round, and aliens still dont exist? Or do they?
EDIT: Obtaining a replacement battery was as easy as TX said. CONFIRMED. Took only a few mins on att warranty chat, FYI.
This thread is all kinds of useful. Calling at&t for a battery tomm.

What really has worked for me is this:

My link came straight from teh proverbial horses mouth. When you're able to unequivocally refute the info given by the OS Developers, then we can talk.

Nope, the reason why I mentioned it was to inform my buddy cjb056 that he doesn't have to do OC/UV or flash ROMs to achieve great battery life, after all that's what he is asking about.
your post is worthless. you dont show usage, you dont show running tasks, signal, wifi. AND you charged it back midway through. But thanks for telling your story, tell it again bro. Also being this is a development site, no one gives a rats rump about what the phone does as stock.

Hope they bring updates to N9000 and fix the damn battery !
good update!
I just flash this new firmware yesterday..Look like the battery usage look not so good.(Dirty charging- 40% i already charge my pone)
Previously in idle 3 to 4hour drop 1%.
Just sharing..
I have a experience about charging battery @stanley08 and @layercake87
Try use your phone untill battery totally 0% or until shutdown itself then charge to 100%. Dont 4get instalFull Battery & Theft app(set the alarm to 100% alert)
Must test 3 to 4 cyccle..
DONT OVER CHARGE..Just try and see the battery performance how. I already text on my frien NOTE 1..He say very useful..

Trust me mate! I have tried all of BetterBatteryStats, Wakelock Detector, GSam Battery Pro and the number one culprit is Android OS. Which means.. It's the ROM. Even on BBS, AudioOut is the highest wakelock of around 1.4% or so and of course it's normal to have that wakelock as it has to to with notification sounds and stuff.

Lol. Touching story! Still trying to fix my Note 3 battery issue.
Guys I only have BT_bt_wake which won't let my phone to go to deep sleep.
Anyone knows what's this? it comes from Android OS.
Searched the web a lot but didn't find any answer.
It's related to bluetooth? if yes, my bluetooth is turned off but still BT_bt_wake is still there
I hope they fix the battery drain issue soon because it's kind of ruining my note 3 experience. My note battery used to only drop about 7% over night, now it drops 40% while "sleeping"

7% is a lot dude. Mine in the starting only used to drop 1-2 % over night. My wifi is always on.
But with the new update I get only 4 hours of on screen time.
i don't have any problem on MK2 SM900. It last over 2 days from 100% with heavy internet usage on the 1st day and on the second day just slightly turning on and off my data just to check my whatsapp and gmail. Strange
This is pretty bad with each new updqte my battery life decreases by half an hour, when I bought the phone I used to get 5 hours 50 minutes of screen time, then with the next one I got 5 hours 20 minutes, and with the recent update I am getting 4 hours and 30 minutes, sometimes if I play games I get only 3 hours and 40 minutes of on screen time.
Samsung please fix this also it seems android os & google services are killing the battery.

[Q] Google play services wakelock

Hi guys,
Having an unbelievable issue with wakelocks destroying my battery, but this is a bit different from the usual stuff you hear about, just read on:
I came from an S4, my wife bought a Nexus5 recently and I was already done with my S4, with all of it's bloat and stuff I don't use (only the camera made me stay but eventually I broke..),and on top of that, sice I upgraded my S4 to 4.4.2 it began having battery issues, it would stay awake all the time, making the phone die in ~7 hours.. so after ALLOT of attempts to figure this out, I decided to start fresh, get rid of the S4 and get a nexus5.
To my surprise, as soon as I finished configuring my N5 (unlock, root, bootloader, xposed+gravity box, the usual apps, nothing fancy) it began experiencing the same battery wake lock drain. now, my wife's N5 is absolutely the same as mine, maybe an app here and there are not the same but I'm not running anything unconventional, I have Beautiful widgets, the usual Google stuff, exchange email etc. Google play services is waking up my device every minute, it drops from a fully recharged battery to 90% in an hour and a half. I've had my wife's phone and mine side by side to compare - same os version, same radio etc.same settings in location are active (location reporting and location history), same location accuracy, same google play services vrsion, same settings in google+ and google now, same everything! I disabled location reporting for now to see it this will have any affect, but this is absolutely driving me nus. why do I need to go through this ordeal, when another nexus 5 is experiencing great battery life while everything is enabled, it will sleep all the time if screen is off.

To tell you the truth I'm a bit hesitant in trying these kind of solutions, yes maybe they could make a difference, but I am tired of messing around with everything just to get a decent experience. I need to know why do 2 perfectly identical N5's experience such astronomical battery differences. And that means I have no choice but to start comparing the two (my wife's and mine) side by side with a needle..
You can always just tick them again if ever wanted. And just so you know. I don't get any Google play drain now and everything works fine. All your doing is removing the stupid permissions gms core wants but doesn't actually need
My battery right now. (gonna charge it at 1% lol)

Thanks allot for the info, I'll try it if I see my temporary solution isn't working.. Seems that if I turn off "location reporting" the wakelocks go away, now I need to find what's different between my settings and my wife's settings location wise, it's definitely something that "came" with me before I bought the nexus 5, it's some setting I have deep withing google..

There won't be any difference, Google have just f**ked up basically. My missus's phone without being set like those settings absolutely hammers her battery (like yours) , yet mine shows about 6% use over the day. But with the boxes unticked shows none so i do it anyway. Otherwise all settings are the same from what I can tell. It did my head in too trying to sort hers out

I'ts absolutely driving me nuts.. I've been trying to find out what's the problem for more than a month now, unbelievable.. but I still think it has something to do with something I have connected\set\changed with Google somehow.. with my S4 I've reset, completely wiped, changed roms, and the issue was still there, now moving to another phone, still.. so it has to be something to do with my Google account
Do a backup and wipe all and Start a new Google account to test?
My missus changed absolutely nothing, was literally just one day it decided "hey I'm gonna ass rape your battery from now on" and that was it

I'm having similar issues with Google play services preventing my phone from sleeping. I've tried the suggestions in this thread, I've also give through other threads and tried them, but over the last 3 or 4 days when there was an update to Google search, my battery has suffered massively!
I'm not sure what else I can do
I've tried turning off all location settings, I don't use Google now and I've even set Greenify to hibernate most of the Google stuff. I'm constantly seeing the message Google search has been greenified when I switch my display on

Go to settings > location > google location reporting > TURN OFF "location reporting" (leave location history on). charge it over night and check battery usage after a day's use.

Hey,
I have seen that some parts of the Google account could not be properly synced.
Could this be the battery drain hanging out together (as this is also part of Google Play Service)?
At least the error always occurs with the battery drain.
bye Stefan

Everything is possible.. What exactly do you mean by "not properly synced"? My friend is experiencing the same behavior even after disabling location reporting.. Anyway.. This is the Google saga we've all been fighting with for as long as I can remember..
I've also seen Google not syncing properly a couple of times today. Had to manually force it to sync. Might be what's causing the wakelocks. Gonna keep an eye out for it from now on.

At&t flex2 h950

Just picked up the flex2 from at&t at lunch today. So far its been performing great, at least when comparing to my nexus 5 on 5.1. Did not experience any lag so far like some early reviews suggest. Not sure if the 3gb ram helps here. Will report more on battery later.
Same. Battery life is my only concern. I feel like I won't be able to make it through the day anymore. It's 11:30am (I've been up 3 hours), and I'm at 62%. It's exactly what I predicted would happen in my post a few months ago (Link).
But as far as performance, this thing is rocking.

I understand a lot of the newer phones aren't showing up on AnTuTu yet, so I don't know the comparison with the M9, Z4, S6, G4, or P8M.
Mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I have a few things for you guys to check out. 1) any screen ghosting like on the first gen g flex. 2) is there any carrier I.q.?

Screen ghosting: No, burnt images no longer show up like they did on the first gen.
Carrier IQ: This is new to me, however, in the list of packages there is a "LADDM 5.0.1-H95010d". I also just did some research on it. I download 3C Toolbox and it definitely has carrieriq.
No ghosting at all. And the performance has been superb. One thing I noticed though is the screen brightness range being quite limited. Its not bright enough under sunlight and not dim enough at night. Screen in most lighting condition is great and vivid though with some noticeable grainy areas. And smart screen feature is not included (the phone stays awake as the front camera detects your face). Not a deal breaker but nice to have feature.
Battery life is great for me. I started my day at 7am and ended up 65% coming home at 6pm with 1.5hr screen on time. I am a light user with occasional YouTube and play music stream, and some email checking web browsing. Connected to my moto360 all the time. No GPS no Wi-Fi just lte. I know the battery life depends much on personal usage, and for me it is great and I'm going to keep my phone (was thinking about switching to the s6 edge).
One big plus is the quick charge 2.0. Boy it does charge fast, and I think it's the one feature I can't live without moving forward.
That's good to hear. Mine should be delivered in about 12 hours from now and I am sending my nexus 6 back. I am on my 4th warranty replacement , seems moto does not do a very good job refurbishing phones. Looking forward to getting back to lg.

US Default Applications AT&T H950
Is it at all possible for someone in this thread to help me in discovering which app I have deleted on accident with the AT&T Variant H950. I am unsure as to exactly why I have no data any longer but I'm sure it is because I have deleted a specific app that is needed in order to access the ATT Data as well as do any kind of call forwarding as well. Perhaps someone here in the thread can post a list of their exact applications so I can find out exactly what it is that I am missing. I have called AT&T about the issue and they are currently investigating the matters but If it is something I can figure out without help I would be much happier without the 90 minutes of wait time. Thank YOU!!
Re: H950 stock Firmware
I have searched the threads here and can't seem to find the ATT H950 firmware files anywhere. Does anyone have a link to the files needed to go back to stock?

I get that easy but I did flash 5.1.1 which made a huge improvement on battery life and overall performance easily get a day now which high use

Android System and Android OS using 50% of battery life

The battery stats are consistently showing Android System (around 35%) and Android OS (around 15%) totaling just under 50% of battery usage, is anyone else seeing this and/or know how to reduce this?
WIFI and GPS off, location set to just wifi and mobile (with wifi and Bluetooth scanning off), Bluetooth and NFC on, and screen always on turned off.
Welcome to the world of Marshmallow, where battery sucks too, like Lollipop

The screen has been either the third or fourth down on my list. I can't figure out what is causing the drain though as I have any and everything disabled that normally kills the battery. Don't get me wrong though, I'm still getting more usage than with my S6 but it hurts knowing that I could be getting a lot more if the Android System and OS wasn't draining so much.

I have to say I've noticed the same. Are you using a ROM? Also, depending on your phone/ROM there may be a way to turn off ambient sensor. This is the option that marshmallow use to wake the phone when picked up, notified , ect. Its seems disabling this prevents a lot of system use and wakelocks. At least for me it does. Worth a shot.

Just stock Marshmallow on my S7 and I have all of that "smart" stuff disabled, like the smart stay to keep screen on while reading, gestures for various things, etc
I was coming here to try and figure out the same thing. Android OS and Android System are always #1 and #2 on my battery drain. I know I could get a LOT more life out of it if I could figure out why.

I'm thinking of being the guinea pig and sideloading the newest google play services to see if that helps. The one on our phones, or at least mine and my wife's, is old and made for lollipop and older. I'm not sure why we haven't gotten the marshmallow version.
The most recent 8.7.02 but we have 8.4.89.

Looks like:
8.7.02 (2624717-440) February 26, 2016 arm64 + arm Android 6.0+ nodpi
The -440 is the key here. The first 4 means marshmallow, the second 4 means arm64-v8a CPU architecture, and the 0 means universal dpi
I disabled VoLTE today and it seems to have helped. They have currently drained a total of 36% (down from 50%) so far. Android System used 20% (down from 35%) and Android OS using the same 15%.
I can't say for sure this is what caused the drop though because I'm also in an area with 4GLTE whereas every other day I was in an area with only 4G all day. So could having VoLTE enabled while not being connected to a LTE tower cause the Android System to drain the battery?

Yea but that is only 10% usage of battery. Wait another 8 hours and let us know.
---------- Post added at 12:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:17 PM ----------
Ive disabled like 30 packages and that is about as far as I'm comfortable going without someone else here being able to identify what each of the packages are used for. Will see if this does anything. I'm down 25% already in just about 4 hours with 30 min SOT and 20 min of voice calls.

Yes true another 8 hours would have been ugly.
Disabling device Nearby Scanning seems to had did the trick 4hr 1% loss , Unfortunately I didn't take System Usage screen shot of change made.
As far as disabling packages , that can do more harm then good they work off each other.
Your best bet start from scratch hard boot back to basic disables no 3rd party app installs & go from there

Adding
The first few charge cycles are VIP conditioning battery.
I highly recommend disabling fast charge & no wireless charging during that time frame
