It makes more sense to work on Cm based roms, because all the code is availible. HTC on the other hand hide their framework and drivers code, that is essential to port newer versions of sense to our phone. Which makes it nearly impossible to do it.

Unfortunately S3 is discontinued by HTC and there isn't any device with S3 based CPU hasn't got 4.2 or newer

First we have to port CM on our Phone.
It will bring us all the drivers to let it boot.
After that, with all basics and stuff we can port Senny and Ubuntu ^^
We just have to learn which kernel and boot images we have to write and what exactly we have to port/compile/write.

1. Kernel
2. recovery (cwm)

There is no difference in kernel and boot.img
Kernel, the heart of the OS, is the boot.img itself.
It brings the OS bootable and connects Hardware with System. (I think it's the right explanation of it..)

Mmmm interesting.. if you have this idea of the difference between boot.img and kernel I think you can leave this project for now.

for now i'm trying to reduce rom size to make it fit to our nand, removing stuff and optimizing apks, will take a while but should be done till morning. let's work together and make this workable asap

the supplied kernel with the rom is 2.6.35 smth, we will see about kernel in the next days
p.s. the rom was provided deodexed, i didn't do that, in case anyone wonders

if you guys ported it to desire and get the camera working, please let US (HD2 community) know. We ported this to hd2 but camera doesn't work. It may need modifications.

No new kernel just use coutts sense kernel...same as I used in wildfire s Rom for booting.
Got booted but with lots of bugs (automatically reboot after 10 to 15 seconds)
But this Rom is 3 months old...also its fully Deodexed...
Anyway who care the main thing is, its working on my device.

from what I've heard, Bumble-Bee stated that Sense has memory leaks, after a few hours of usage it was using 300 mB of ram (this on Ace). For now i can't even make the rom boot ) at least i've optimized the apks, gained about 30 megs. if anyone wants them i'll share

Well, i just made this thread, because someone else suggested me to port this rom. And by the way, i'm still working on the other projects. I just wanna make roms for everyone, cause everyone likes some things more than another one.

He can't make a perfect rom now because ics port is not finished yet, he will surrely update his rom when they will be update on ICS and make it perfect when ics will be done

First and foremost let me thank all our users for using our Romz and providing us with a valuable and constructive feedback :good:
We customize and develop roms as a hobby its not our job or occupation and we do have normal lives and either jobs or in education, which pays our bills so our first obligation is to our real lives and I sure do hope that every one understands this.
Every DEV customize rom in their own way hence there are quite a few variations of the same base, we neither imply or consider that anyone else's work is inferior or superior to our work.
It's user's own choice which modifications in a rom they are happy with and which rom serves their purposes, we will never force anyone to use our rom or ask anyone to go else where if they are not happy.
It is consider RUDE to compare or ask which rom is better in any development thread so PLEASE do not ask or entertain these questions in not just our's but anyone else's thread, It is always a good practice to download any rom try it for yourself and see if you like it or not.
Lets all make an effort to keep these development threads nice and clean and as user friendly as we possibly can,
IF you do have a problem with OUR rom please try to give as much information as you can, as we have to try to recreate that problem in an effort to help and provide right advise.

you already have inside it, and by the way every theme daemon use is fine with xcode, just be sure not overwrite widgets or you'll lose transparency

op is almost done, but now I'm too tired and it's too late here, so we have a rom (LOL) mirrors, themes, and a multi-installer..I'll give you more and more info tomorrow (few hours lol) meanwhile have fun:fingers-crossed:

correct:good: but bluemaniacs contains a lot of widgets, they are not transparent, so if you flash it you'll lose some transparent widget..you can just delete from the zip theme the apk you don't wan t and flash all the rest, or just flash it all but now you know waht will be the effect
Downloaded and flashed, it look great with initial kernel which is bricked. But it is absolutely flying after i changed to Pacha's latest kernel. Great work. There is 1 error i get everytime i restart my phone and it said lockcreen wallpaper is not working. And also i can't find the cool lockscreen selections which you posted at OP. Thanks
Can you tell me what firmware you are using for your rom, i installed aroma installer and the flashed version 1.0 .xcode, however the X for no service pop up and when I swipe the lock ring the HTC white screen stay on couldn't go any further. I am on firmware 3.32.401.105 Tmobile. also I would love to have your step by step installation procedure like Damen version ust to make sure everything is done right. I formatted everythind except SD card and did wipe all data as in Damen Roms.

Can't seems to load SIM contact, I have at least 230 contacts in my SIM card and I am unable to view or update. Pls help look into this major issue. Tq.

How about this...set up a kickstarter campaign to buy a device, then post to the CM community and see who will take it to help you out? You are acting like the CM team is some corporation ignoring the will of their customers. They are independent enthusiasts, most who develop for their own phones or similar and in the process help contribute to the community. Without a device, your petition is useless.
if every villec2 owners agrees to donate little, we can gather the amount to buy HTc one s which will then be donated to someone who is a dev and is willing to port cm 10, cm10.1, aosp 4.2.1 etc after buying it.
how to do organize all this??
If you going down that road best find a dev first who would be willing to do it if you got hold of a phone.
As I already wrote, I requested kernel sources for 4.1.1. series of roms for One S S3 based on 3.4.1.0 kernel on htcdev. They say that they are on schedule to release it eventually.
Better is to wait for those kernel sources than to port Sensation's kernel. Port is always a port.

No. Camera and Bluetooth are busted. Possibly (probably) other things. I haven't played with it too much after I got it booting.

Still not bad but ya getting CM10 working would be better and might have an idea for the camera but leave that in till got the rom up and running.
we should start the process of porting cm 10 and open a seperate thread to discuss its process, any problems that would occur would be known by logcat and would be resolved by discussion with devs, atleast if once started, I'm sure we will get something.

All the sources are on my github. I see there are a few people interested, so I'll make a build tomorrow and post it in the dev section.
