Hi, I've installed Kitkat 4.4.4 ROM and saw that there's no radio fm native application. I do not like the spirit radio solution. I wont pay for radio...
So, i would like to develop an app... Is it hard to do?
I know java, c++ and other languages...
Can someone help me?

I know the unlocked/European version of Galaxy S has a FM radio app, but the US versions such as Captivate don't. Is it possible to copy the radio app off of the European version using a file manager like Astro and install it on Captivate?
btw, I don't wanna use Pandora or other online streaming radio stations because I don't have unlimited data.
It won't do you any good
...if you don't have the hardware.

To my knowledge it does have the hardware....
As far as I know, nobody knows for sure if it has the hardware or not. Looking back at the older android phones, plenty of them had the hardware, but they lacked the drivers and the software. I don't see why we can't at least try to run the software & the drivers that are made for phones that are pretty much identical to the US versions.

There is no radio for CM11
Try Spirit FM
Since headphones are used as radio antenna, I suppose it's very device-specific code involved. And because of that, you can't be very hopeful about the FM radio app. Maybe someone ports the original work, but as far as I know, it'd mean a lot of work. You could try to pay for some unofficial replacements (spirit2 is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fm.a2d.s2), but I still haven't found the free app that works.
Spirit2 works fine
Hi
I'm using pac rom beta 2 version on samsung galaxy s 2+, it's working fine but there isn't aplication for fm radio like on stock rom. I dont want to use radio with online conection. is there any aplication to work like real fm radio?
Thanks.
Hi!
There's are many Fm apps on the play store. Assuming you have a reciever built into the phone. Custom roms not based on stock will not usually be able to run Samsung apps, as they don't have the touchwiz firmware.
If you still need help, here is your device section, and the Q&A section is where to post for help.

Good luck!
Hi ppl!!
Does anybody knows a way to have the Radio FM working on a non Stock based ROM? I am trying to find a way, but seems there is no drivers to support Radio FM on every non Stock based ROM.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.
I think so someone dev has to implement support for radio FM in the ROM (normally cyanogen will do when it's rom is stable but our z5 hasn't official support ). Then if someone speak/write with spirit FM's dev, he normally will add support for his APP for our device.

Ok. Thanks. I like the Sony's app. But in the missing we will try that Spirit FM one. I don't know it. But It's bad have a rom that doesn't have the support of a feature so simple like FM. I will try get in contact with dev and see if he can support us. Thanks.
