[Q] Galaxy S - FM Radio - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I know the unlocked/European version of Galaxy S has a FM radio app, but the US versions such as Captivate don't. Is it possible to copy the radio app off of the European version using a file manager like Astro and install it on Captivate?
btw, I don't wanna use Pandora or other online streaming radio stations because I don't have unlimited data.

It won't do you any good

To my knowledge it does have the hardware....

As far as I know, nobody knows for sure if it has the hardware or not. Looking back at the older android phones, plenty of them had the hardware, but they lacked the drivers and the software. I don't see why we can't at least try to run the software & the drivers that are made for phones that are pretty much identical to the US versions.

Plzz, someone give me a link for download the original Galaxy S .apk for FM radio ? Im with ICS semaphore and cannot find original app for fm in whole net =[

Please list the details of your HD2 like what radio it has, is it a T-Mobile US, the name of the ROM...who made the ROM.
Also, you can find specific support here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=989
It is a t-mobile US I'm not sure of the radio or where to find it, i'm a noob. Kernel version 2.6.32.15_tytung_r10-gbdfeaac [email protected] #72 Build # GRJ90 (NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.9 Nand) Thats all I got.
I think radio is your service provider which in this case is T-Mobile
Optimus M XDA Premium

Try flashing the recommended radio. It might make a difference.
Also, make sure the card you use is fully formatted and has been used with this ROM right from the beginning (never been used with any other Android ROM and then used with this one). Formatting it will help if it was ever used with any other ROM prior to using with this one.
Here is the recommended radio: http://www.multiupload.com/QP0IWGY42F

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 U.S. version (capacative home button)

I take notice that there is little support for the U.S. version of the Galaxy Player 3.6. in the way of custom roms and whatnot. I have manged to root mine and remove all the bs apps. I am looking to install clockworkmod to the device and have not been sucessful in finding a way to do so. Are there any suggestions someone may have? I am willing to use my device experimentally for testing if necessary.
i think this can help

which Radio fm without internet connection ..?

Hi
im a user of galaxy s II plus 19105 (rooted) ressurection remix rom
i have no radio fm all radio on google store need internet connection
i just want a radio like my original stock rom without the need of internet (wifi)
which i can listen everywhere i go
please need help
Thanks
The ordinal radio does not work on custom roms...... Atleast that is what I have understood after reading all the forums on s2+. So if you even did manage to get a radio apk, it would not work.
Either you return back to the original rom or do with internet based radio apps.

[Completed] FM Radio for pac rom beta 2

Hi
I'm using pac rom beta 2 version on samsung galaxy s 2+, it's working fine but there isn't aplication for fm radio like on stock rom. I dont want to use radio with online conection. is there any aplication to work like real fm radio?
Thanks.
Hi!
There's are many Fm apps on the play store. Assuming you have a reciever built into the phone. Custom roms not based on stock will not usually be able to run Samsung apps, as they don't have the touchwiz firmware.
If you still need help, here is your device section, and the Q&A section is where to post for help.

Good luck!

Radio FM app for E6653 (Sumire)

Hi ppl!!
Does anybody knows a way to have the Radio FM working on a non Stock based ROM? I am trying to find a way, but seems there is no drivers to support Radio FM on every non Stock based ROM.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.
I think so someone dev has to implement support for radio FM in the ROM (normally cyanogen will do when it's rom is stable but our z5 hasn't official support ). Then if someone speak/write with spirit FM's dev, he normally will add support for his APP for our device.
Regards

Ok. Thanks. I like the Sony's app. But in the missing we will try that Spirit FM one. I don't know it. But It's bad have a rom that doesn't have the support of a feature so simple like FM. I will try get in contact with dev and see if he can support us. Thanks.
