[Q] Firmware and bugs - Sony Xperia L

Hey guys, I ordered a Xperia L for my sister..since I own a Xperia SP I know how bad Sony is at releasing bug fixes firmwares for mid-range phones..now, I read that the latest firmware is buggy(wow, a sony's phone buggy? ) Can you tell me the most stable firmware with less bugs?

The latest (.14)(.16 & .17 are carrier specific) Recommend to root and remove useless bloatware from system/app, disable apps or install a custom 4.4 rom.

How is it carrier specified? I checked Update Checker and most generic locations(GR,FR etc) are having the .17 as the latest firmware..
and yep, I will root it..Sony bloatware is just pain

.16 & .17 don't fix any bugs. It just add some Orange (.16) or T-Mobile (.17) bloatware.

New official update for HTC Chacha found 1.57.720.3

Hello Everyone,
I just received a notification that a new software update is available for my HTC Chacha here in India: 1.57.720.3
I am currently on 1.57.720.1 and have unlocked and rooted the device (no custom rom installed)
I have a question:
If I update to this version, will I have to root my phone again? If not, then what is the benefit to update to this version??
Should I update?? I don`t want to lose my root ability.
Don't update, you will have to re root. If I were you I would get cm7 or cm9 they run very well and are much better than the stock ROM

Tried what?
Those listed there on htcdev are NOT ROMs. Those are kernels. You download those and then get the android source code from google, then build android for yourself using those kernels. Which should be for ICS but it has been discussed in the dev section and they seem to be for GB.
Further more, I have compared the 4.0 India and the 2.3 India and only 3 GPIO files have been modified. So it's GB kernel with 4 more lines of code.
So Alex C.
1. this is not ICS?
2. Will i get it stable on my chacha!!

[Q] OTA update 15.3.A.1.17 inaccessible from PC Companion

My Xperia L C2104 is ready to be updated to 15.3.A.1.17 via OTA. But, I want it to update from Sony PC Companion. It says that my handset already has the latest version of the software while, in reality, it it running 15.3.A.1.14. What could the reason be? How can I force PC Companion to detect the software update?

.16 is for Orange & .17 is for T-Mobile devices. If you don't have a carrier locked device by the above stated carriers, you won't get those updates. .14 is the latest international update available.

still no KK 4.4.4 for Xperia E3 for my region

Hit, I'm an owner of xperia E3 and I've heard that KK 4.4.4 has been rolled over week ago and still is not available in Poland (non-brand phone). And I'm wondering when this update will appear as OTA or PC companion? Do you have aby idea? There's a few annoying bugs and just thinking about flashing my e3 with firmware from other region would be faster .

I checked this out but my e3 is non-brand (nor Play or polkomtel). Those operators provide some crapware with firmwares and i want to avoid this. Do you think it's better to wait for OTA? will it ever appear?
In every phone there is bloadware(exept Nexus. Motorola but they are/were Google ). So i downloaded that UK version and the only bloadware were small application and they are not such a big deal.I remember one of them was Vine. You can wait for a OTA update from the curiour but there is a chance that you will not reseve it.

Help flash EU official firmware on China version BKL-AL20*?

Hi i have a new v10 coming however it is the china version with chinese software so no default google services, i was wondering is is possible to flash official EU firmware manually and NOT void warranty? Im coming from Samsungs so dont have much any experience with Honor firmwares. If anyone can provide me the correct links and guide that would be very appreciated. To confirm, i dont want to root, or flash a custom bootloader, just require a pure official EU firmware and keep warranty intact.
Thanks for your help

Download Playstore,Google Calendar Sync and Contact Sync from Apk Mirror install it and give Permissions.
After an ota update everything remains installed
