Help flash EU official firmware on China version BKL-AL20*? - Honor View 10 Questions & Answers

Hi i have a new v10 coming however it is the china version with chinese software so no default google services, i was wondering is is possible to flash official EU firmware manually and NOT void warranty? Im coming from Samsungs so dont have much any experience with Honor firmwares. If anyone can provide me the correct links and guide that would be very appreciated. To confirm, i dont want to root, or flash a custom bootloader, just require a pure official EU firmware and keep warranty intact.
Thanks for your help

Thanks for your reply, as the china version does not have google play store or services, if i install them manually, will they stay on the phone after ota updates or do you have to reinstall the google services each time? Thanks

Will the US variant of XZ Premium have fingerprint sensor hardware?

I understand that the US variant will not have fingerprint sensor, but does it have the underlying hardware that we can activate via flashing official UK tools/Rom? It was possible with the XZ, so just wondering. Thank you.
Yes, just flash non-us fw and it works again.

Note that Chinese Mainland (CN) FW doesn't have Google Framework, you may try HK or TW version.
The flash tool for XZP is still on developing, keep an eye on https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr...gress-newflasher-xperia-command-line-t3619426

Ok, that makes sense, but she won't be able to access google from mainland China without using VPN access. I'll use the HK version instead, since when comes here next year from Shanghai she'll be able to access google. Will the US firmware have the Chinese language on it, thats what I am really worried about.
Help please

Can you please help me or share a link to where it explains how to flash the proper firmware? I have an xz premium, and I understand your saying the xz flashable firmware will work? It would be nice if I could get the fingerprint sensor working tho. Thanks for your help.

All you have to do is download fw via flashtool, download this, drop the files inside the zip into the fw folder, connect your phone in flashmode and start newflash.exe, it will then flash.
I think that the hardware is there. It's just disabled for patent issues in the US.

How do you convert a S8+ purchased in China for use with T-Mobile?

Hi,
I recieved one as a gift but obviously since it's Chinese bought with the firmware and lack of Google services, I can't use it. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.
It should just be the international model, I believe. Which means it should have google apps by default, If I recall.

go here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ecovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-s8-snapdragon-t3636718
you will need to unlock the bootloader and then flash twrp. once twrp is installed, you can then flash a gapps package or flash a us base rom.

Will there be a post for OTA oxygen os for 8T?

As stated in the title, I am planning to buy the Chinese variant which has hydrogen os for it. But the hydrogen os lack of the google play store so I want to locally upgrade it to Oxygen OS. Yet currently this forum still hasn't got any post regarding Oxygen OS OTA for this device.
ATM, I don't know an official download source for 8T OOS. https://www.oneplus.com/de/support/softwareupgrade is still empty (no 8T), each update for my 8T comes direct OTA onto the phone https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oxygen-oneplus-8t-11-0-2-3.1333369/
Maybe it works, when you use the unbrick tool to "restore" your China device to OOS, but don't sue me when this kills your phone.
Hey, there are already OTA zips available for EU region, just not on OnePlus' website. The OP of this thread has them uploaded here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8t/how-to/guide-how-to-root-oneplus8t-kb2001-t4178675
You don't need to root, just download the EU zip and do a local upgrade. Do note that Global ROM (North America/NA) is now hosted on a dynamic googleapis server, hence people were unable to extract the OTA zip download link. EU variant works just fine.
I flashed the EU one over my chinese variant 2 days ago and all went well.
Adding on to what @zellleonhart said, after cross flashing, it would be better to format data via recovery once. It's not necessary at all, but I experienced some minor glitches and were fixed by formatting.
Good luck!

Yes you can, just make sure the EU version is higher than your currently installed Indian firmware, and do a factory reset after successful update.

I'm not sure, but 95% in EU rom there is Google dialer...
If you upgrade to EU rom, you do not need to unlock bootloader...
Also there is gonna be OTA

Google Dialer, same as NA or IN variant. Yes you'll get Ota updates as well, usually latest by 2nd or 3rd day after IN variant received it. For 11.0.5.6 it was same day.

New Mi 10 Ultra user needing help

Hello XDA forums,
I've recently required a global version of the mi 10 ultra after a phone swap. I'm not flash/bootloading/ROM toting gunslinger and have no clue about this software installed on the phone called TWRP.
From my research I've found it's a bootloader that allows the device to be used in other countries and gives access to Google play store.
But I just wondered whether going back to stock is an option, and if so, would that present any issues i.e. lose assess to play store.
If there is a simplified guide or any guide in general I'd be more than happy to look at it
Kind regards

Thank you for clarifying that for me having spoke to someone via the Xiaomi forums, they stated that it is used on the mi 10 ultra to by pass the Chinese stock ROM and allow Google play store.
The thing I'm lost about is what ROM am I currently using and how do I update it? Would you be able to direct me to some information to troubleshoot this?
Kind regards,
Alex

Ah no I was wondering whether TWRP is vital to it's operation, as I've tried to factory reset and for some reason it is still retaining the previous owners information. I'm thinking it's due to TWRP

Basically Yes, you will lose access to the playstore as China does not allow it on their phones. The 10 ultra's sold to people outside of China had a cutdown version of Google services put on but it did not have location history or find phone and other parts. If you do go back to stock Chinese, you can find playstore app in their version of appstore and if you install it, you can get full Google services again.
If you have the Xiaomi EU ROM installed and you live outside of China, then that version is your best bet. It comes in 2 versions, weekly or stable and both are still updated, so make your choice, stock ROM is available here.. http:/mifirm.net and do a search for cas or mi 10 ultra and install the latest fastboot or recovery ROM if you have twrp recovery installed ( you probably will if you have the EU ROM) or pop over the Xiaomi EU forum for the latest info here.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/xiaomi-mi-10-pro-10lite-ultra-10t-pro-lite-10s.204/ and here for the weekly ROM.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-12-0-12-1-12-2-12-5-stable-release.56191/ and the weekly ROM here.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/21-6-16-17.61822/ .
All the info on twrp and the ROMs are on the Xiaomi EU forum but there is lots of help and advice here once you make your choice of where you want to go. The 10 Ultra is a dam good phone with the latest EU ROM installed.

Hi. Mine was originally chinese rom. I've changed it to indian rom with google services installed. Just make sure to unlock your bootloader and read the steps carefully before proceeding.
