It's not necessary to take backup but u may do it for your own safety.... nd its complete process. You dont need to do anything else for rooting..

to increase storage space you dont need root.. you just need to tweak your rom a bit and then flash it through sp flasher..
edit: if you want to increase system partition... you can flash a file using cwm(needs root) but for inc. app storage. no need for root...

Better to use drama root & supersu

Just picked up a Neo 4.5 as a gift for someone today. Rooted & installed SuperSU binary & App w/ Framaroot v1.9.4. Maybe the version you tried didn't have the correct strings for the MT6572 yet. I believe it worked with Boramir.
i need root too

I´'ve rooted several BLUs with Kingo Root (just Google search for it and install it on your laptop). The challenge if you are a noobie is that sometimes you miss a step OR people assume that you know the basics, so they forget to tell you about some important steps that you must take before you root.
Instructions:
1. Install Kingo Root.
2. On your BLU, open Settings (make sure you have allowed applications to be installed from Unknown Sources...you'll find this option under Security in the Settings)..
3. In Settings, go to About Phone and rapidly click on the "Build Number" as many times as it takes to say, "You are now a developer". This will open a new option in the Settings called Developer Options.
4. In Settings, now go to Developer Options and make sure it is ON and also turn on the USB Debugging. VERY IMPORTANT!
5. Now connect your BLU to your computer via a USB cable and wait till all the drivers are installed and the device is READY TO USE.
6. Disconnect your phone from the computer.
7. Run the Kingo Root software.
8. Connect your phone to the computer (Kingo will eventually connect to the phone and then will show you a big ROOT button.
9. Click the big ROOT button and sit back till it does its thing.
10. Wait till Kingo gives you the "ROOTED!" message and then you are done (so go ahead and unplug your phone from USB and close Kingo Root software).
11. Reboot your phone and confirm root (download Busy Box Checker from Play Store). You might also want to download Busy Box X and install the busybox binaries..
OPTIONAL SUPERUSER:
You don't have to do this next part if you're happy with Kingo User.
Note that these days, Kingo Root will install a superuser (su) binary that is controlled by their own app called Kingo User instead of the SuperSU app. If you want SuperSU by Chainfire, you have to search XDA for BETA SuperSU 2.49. You'll find a zip file with a beta version of SuperSU and a script that will eliminate Kingo User and replace it with SuperSU.
Install BUSY BOX X on your phone (download from Play Store).
Place the SuperSU v2.49 zip on your SD card in the phone (IT MUST BE THE VERSION 2.49 NOT THE OFFICIL 2.46 OR THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK). Then boot into recovery (to do that you turn your phone off and then after it is off, you restart it with the power button while you are holding down the volume UP button). Then you use the menu you find there to "Install a zip from SD card". Select the zip you just put on the SD card, and it will flash the SuperSU program and binaries to your phone, while deleting the Kingo User app and it's binaries. Now select Reboot System at the top of the menu and you're all done.

Any chance you could PM me or mirror the 1.9.4 apk? I can't find it from a reliable resource online, and 1.9.3 did not root my new Neo 4.5. Tried several other rooting tools, none of which worked, so I'd love to be able to get my hands on the apk you used to do the root.
Thanks!

You still have not rooted your Neo 4.5? Can you give us a little more information? Respond to the following questions:
1. Have you turned on Developer Options on the phone?
2. Have you turned on USB Debugging in the Developer Options?
3. Have you installed the USB drivers for your phone?
4. Download and run MTK Droid Tools (as administrator). Just Google it and you will find lots of sources for the software (including here on XDA). Then connect your phone via USB cable. What message is shown on the bottom left corner of the MTK Droid window? Take a screenshot of your computer screen if possible and post it here.
Once you've answered these questions, we'll be able to help you.

It is done
i root it
You have to use the latest version of Kingo root apk. and install it on your phone

Hi, for everyone trying to root blu neo 4.5, I have recently got my phone rooted and had tried all the other root apps out there, but the one that did the job is 360 Root, you can download it from google play store or just google it online and download. you should watch the video on youtube also, it's not in English but will still help you to understand the step by step process.

Rooting Lenovo A526 - November 22, 2014

Lenovo A526 is not actually listed on the devices.
So far, this is the only way that worked for me.
1. Download Root Genius from this link: http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
2. Run it as an administrator.
You'll be asked to connect your phone with USB Debugging enabled.
3. On your phone, go to Settings>Developer Options and enable USB Debugging then connect
your phone to your PC. (Phone drivers must be installed)
4. On the Root Genius program, click Root and wait for the process to finish.
5. Reboot your device and check if Kinguser app is installed.
Optional: Download a Root Checker app to verify your root access.
kinguser is not useful for lenovo a526.
360 root (perm root) can root lenovo a526 without using computer. it very easy to root, but one problem is it's language is Chinese.I want this app in English language. can anybody help please?

[Q] Phone Is Not Reading Phone Storage memory or SD Card!!!!

hi people so i'm new to this site, but i really need HELP!!
so my phone is not reading the phone storage memory
or the Sd card!!!
Let me explain... So my phone was great, but i decided to install a
custom rom and this custom rom was a cynogenmod rom,my phone was rooted
so i did everything on my phone without a computer, i installed this custom rom
with flashify and Clockworkmod recovery so i did everything rigth and
the instalation was good, i also installed the gapps with clockworkmod
everything was going good but almost at the end it said error and
the instalation of the gapps stoped ..so i just reboot the phone with clockworkmod
wen it was turn on everything was going good with this custom rom
but i found out that my phone was only reading the external sd card... so i was like
maybe i can fix this wen i get root.... so i tryed to root the phone with this custom rom...
i had the root zip file and i went back to clockworkmod recovery and install the root, the instalation was done but wen i turn on the phone the super su was installed but i couldtn ooen it ..and i tryed to open rooted apps but they did not work...so maybe the root did not install correctly ,, idk but i was like well screw this and i will just go back to the stock rom, so i cleared the cache and all that, then installed the stock firmware of my phone... i turned my phone on wen it was done installing the stock firmware,,,but now my phone is not reading
the phone storage memory nor External storage memory... all i can do rigth now is install apps from the google playstore,,, I have checked the external sd card with other phones and it works fine and all my files are there... but with my phone it just doesnt detected not even the phone storage... wen i go to settings the only memory i see is
the memory of the apps and actually the phone storage shows only for like a second than it dissapears and the external says to mount an sd card but the card is inserted....SO WAT CAN IT BE??? people tell me that i mite be able to fix this if i have root...but i am in stock firmware and so its not rooted.. i can root my phone with framaroot apk but how?? if i can't download nothing... only i can download apps from google playstore but as you guys know the playstore does not have apps that can root your phone... idk why they dont its stupid as fhell.. Also i checked system folders with root browser and i went to storage and i see sdcard0 and sdcard1 but inside of them i can't see no folders or files..i checked the permissions of this sdcard0 and sdcard1 but i found out that they had no permissions like this --------- no permisions.. so i also checked the folder that is outside of those 2 and it only has 4 permissions and this permisions are (( group read)) and ((others read)) also ((group execute))) and ((others execute)) the write permissions are all off and this folder is called storage...inside of this folder is were sdcard0 and sdcard1 are and like i said this 2 haveall the permissions OFF.... SO WAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS??? if framaroot apk was in the playstore i could root my phone but its not... oh and i can't change nothing in system if i am not rooted..... so there you havd it.... SORRY FOR MAKING IT LONG BUT i wanted to explain in detail... please reply asap... thanks
