Currently, we only have root access on these devices. I am currently working on a recovery build, and I have plans for CM7 and CM9 builds in the future. Here's how to consistently and easily get root access on the Tracfone V768G and almost certainly V768 (I have a V768G):
Root
The only functional root exploit I have found is via an obscure Chinese program called VROOT. While there is much speculation in other threads as to the nature of this program (and potential for malware), I have had success with it on multiple occasions where no other tool I tried worked. I have seen no evidence that it installs anything other than its strange app market (as an easily-removable user app!) and a superuser program called KingRoot (as a system app, where it should be). While it appears entirely benign and functional, I personally prefer to use superSU. Therefore, the below instructions will include the removal of KingRoot and installation of SuperSU in its place. It is assumed that you have ZTE's preloaded drivers installed and that you have confirmed adb is working.
Unfortunately, VROOT is a Windows-only application, though it works perfectly in a Windows virtual machine (that's how I use it!).
Download VROOT and the newest SuperSU
Install and run VROOT. It might take more than one try to succeed.
Confirm that KingRoot is installed, and uninstall the 100% Chinese app that is also present. At this point, your device is rooted. You can simply keep KingRoot, but I would advise continuing to install superSU.
Extract "common/Superuser.apk" from the downloaded SuperSU zip and install it on the device via adb or the file manager.
Open SuperSU and grant it root permissions when KingRoot prompts you. Swipe over to the settings pane and select "Switch superuser app".
Follow its instructions. After rebooting the device, simply install SuperSU again, open it, update the su binary when prompted, and select "Install SuperSU inte /system" from the settings pane. You're done!
VROOT installs a app "Superuser.apk" not Kingroot

When I install VROOT via windows, it installs an app called 'Superuser' which I suppose it is to manage root access permissions for other apps. I see no 'KingRoot' app as you mentioned. I only see this 'Superuser' app and a Chinese app.
Either way, this 'Superuser' app appears to not working properly because I am not getting any prompt to either deny or grant root acess to apps like TitaniumBackup or even Root Checker.
I can get root acess via ADB Shell with the su command, but on the phone the 'Superuser' app from VROOT is not prompting me to allow/deny root access.
Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

I was working on getting a custom recovery,but then I ended up getting a Nexus 4 (and then later a nexus 5) and abandoned it. Ill take another look at it. Now that I dont need the phone its less of an issue if I brick it,so I can be a little more agressive.

Just picked up a Neo 4.5 as a gift for someone today. Rooted & installed SuperSU binary & App w/ Framaroot v1.9.4. Maybe the version you tried didn't have the correct strings for the MT6572 yet. I believe it worked with Boramir.

I´'ve rooted several BLUs with Kingo Root (just Google search for it and install it on your laptop). The challenge if you are a noobie is that sometimes you miss a step OR people assume that you know the basics, so they forget to tell you about some important steps that you must take before you root.
Instructions:
1. Install Kingo Root.
2. On your BLU, open Settings (make sure you have allowed applications to be installed from Unknown Sources...you'll find this option under Security in the Settings)..
3. In Settings, go to About Phone and rapidly click on the "Build Number" as many times as it takes to say, "You are now a developer". This will open a new option in the Settings called Developer Options.
4. In Settings, now go to Developer Options and make sure it is ON and also turn on the USB Debugging. VERY IMPORTANT!
5. Now connect your BLU to your computer via a USB cable and wait till all the drivers are installed and the device is READY TO USE.
6. Disconnect your phone from the computer.
7. Run the Kingo Root software.
8. Connect your phone to the computer (Kingo will eventually connect to the phone and then will show you a big ROOT button.
9. Click the big ROOT button and sit back till it does its thing.
10. Wait till Kingo gives you the "ROOTED!" message and then you are done (so go ahead and unplug your phone from USB and close Kingo Root software).
11. Reboot your phone and confirm root (download Busy Box Checker from Play Store). You might also want to download Busy Box X and install the busybox binaries..
OPTIONAL SUPERUSER:
You don't have to do this next part if you're happy with Kingo User.
Note that these days, Kingo Root will install a superuser (su) binary that is controlled by their own app called Kingo User instead of the SuperSU app. If you want SuperSU by Chainfire, you have to search XDA for BETA SuperSU 2.49. You'll find a zip file with a beta version of SuperSU and a script that will eliminate Kingo User and replace it with SuperSU.
Install BUSY BOX X on your phone (download from Play Store).
Place the SuperSU v2.49 zip on your SD card in the phone (IT MUST BE THE VERSION 2.49 NOT THE OFFICIL 2.46 OR THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK). Then boot into recovery (to do that you turn your phone off and then after it is off, you restart it with the power button while you are holding down the volume UP button). Then you use the menu you find there to "Install a zip from SD card". Select the zip you just put on the SD card, and it will flash the SuperSU program and binaries to your phone, while deleting the Kingo User app and it's binaries. Now select Reboot System at the top of the menu and you're all done.

Any chance you could PM me or mirror the 1.9.4 apk? I can't find it from a reliable resource online, and 1.9.3 did not root my new Neo 4.5. Tried several other rooting tools, none of which worked, so I'd love to be able to get my hands on the apk you used to do the root.

I've tried Kingo Root, One Click Root, iRoot, towelroot, framaroot.... I tried lots of rooting methods
... Watched a lot of YouTube videos. I saw one in Spanish and the neo 4.5 is rooted, but I don't understand, and I'm sure its just a show n not a tutorial on how to root... Any help?

You still have not rooted your Neo 4.5? Can you give us a little more information? Respond to the following questions:
1. Have you turned on Developer Options on the phone?
2. Have you turned on USB Debugging in the Developer Options?
3. Have you installed the USB drivers for your phone?
4. Download and run MTK Droid Tools (as administrator). Just Google it and you will find lots of sources for the software (including here on XDA). Then connect your phone via USB cable. What message is shown on the bottom left corner of the MTK Droid window? Take a screenshot of your computer screen if possible and post it here.
Once you've answered these questions, we'll be able to help you.

so I've got my blu neo 4.5 rooted but there is no custom ROMs online to download, especially lollipop. if anyone knows where I can get custom Rom for blu neo 4.5 please let me know.

Lol. I rooted my phone with 360 root. A Chinese app and soon after the phone died because of a faulty charger.
Here is how to root the new BLU Life One, there are probably many ways to do it but this was the best way that I could find.
Note that I tried to root with framaroot, towelroot, and iroot and their apps have failed.
Try this of your own free will, I am not responsible for anything happening to your device (it worked for me so it should work for you).
What you will need:
kingoroot, supersu, busybox, root checker, and titanium backup.
First things first,
Go into settings and check the box next to "Unknown sources".
Next open up the internet tab and search for Kingoroot (kingorootapp dot com)
Click the download button for android (not the windows one)
When it finishes downloading, click in the drop down menu and install the apk.
Open the kingo root app, and click root circle.
After the app is finished rooting your device, you can download Root checker in the play store to ensure that your device is indeed rooted.
Now, I personally don't like kingo root, so the next steps are optional.
In the play store download three apps, SuperSU ( i use chainfire), busybox, and titanium backup (i suggest buying the paid version, it is well worth the money).
Next open up SuperSU (KingoUser should ask to grant SuperSU root access, allow it), and install the SU binary. Do not reboot system.
Next open titanium backup, click the middle tab, then scroll down until you see SuperSU. Long press, and then press install to system apps. (you can do this manually by using ES file explorer and copying the SuperSU.apk file [may need to download it from the internet] in to the/system/app folder.
Now restart your device.
When the device boots back up, check and make sure that your device is still rooted by using root checker again.
If it is still rooted, open SuperSU and make sure you dont have to install the binarys again (you shouldnt have to).
Next uninstall the kingo root app (it will not let you uninstall the kingouser app, for this you must use titanium backup)
Now go into your system, applications and then disable kingouser app.
After doing so, check and see if your device is still rooted (it should be)
If it is still rooted, proceed to use titanium backup to uninstall kingouser app.
Lastly install busy box. If you get an error saying "unable to install choose another location" simply click on where it says "/system/xbin" and change it to "system/bin".
And there you should have a freshly rooted device with no kingoroot. Not saying Kingoroot is bad, i just have always used SuperSU

if someone here has a working blu life one 2015, could you do a rom dump. a bunch of us have soft bricked phones and can't get them working. Blu doesn't have the stock rom available
Hey thanks for this guide! I have one problem I'm hoping you could shed some light on. I've followed your steps and when I try to update the SU binaries it fails every time. The kingroot worked and the kingroot su asked if I wanted SuperSu to have root access and I selected yes. Each time it fails to update it suggest I reboot and try again, but I haven't yet.

Am having an infinix hot X507andriod phone. I once had full root access. But due to frequent switching off by itself and eventually stuck at boot, I had to return it to its manufacturer which robbed me of my root access.
Then, I used kingroot on Android which installed the kinguser. But the kinguser doesn't allow root access ( also checked it's settings).
Afterwards, I've been trying diff ways to root my phn to no avail. I used all the supported one-click rooting apps, also eroot, iroot, king root on PC. It was when connected to mtkdroid tool that I discovered that it was a su missing error. ( mtkdroid tool gives a yellow colour, so I think my phn is somehow rooted). Then, I ran through my phn with es file explorer and saw su at 2 diff locations; bin and xbin, both with 0.00kb size and non deletable.
Now, I shifted my attention to unrooting my device by deleting the kinguser but to no avail. And also mtkdroid tool also giving just root option( which gives su missing error when clicked). The kinguser has even turned to a system app and non deletable. I even tried 'replacing kinguser with superuser' method but no success. (Still su missing error). Note: I don't have any recovery image, so I couldn't flash SuperSU, or anything.
And any attempt to update binary through installed SuperSU will give an installation failed error.

root your device again with kingouser.. or kinguser
try kingoroot first and than install root uninstaller
that can remove system apps too so open the app and navigate to which app you want to delt n click uninstall..

try kingoroot to get root acess..
You can make a full wipe restoring the original firmware of your phone using SP flash tool
