My razr HD is JB 4.1.2. Is there any way to upgrade it to JB 4.3.1 ?
Thanks.
No, because this phone never got 4.3. You can update to 4.4, though.

I'm talking official, here. I would assume he is too, since he's asking about an update, not asking about flashing a ROM.

Official as in from Moto, yes, you are right. But there are official CM10.2 builds out there.
since the op doesnt seem to want to weigh in on exactly what or why he wanted that particular build, this debate is more or less pointless.
there is no "official" 4.3, so rick is correct.
but there is a official cm 4.3 so palm is correct.
stock is stock, generally referred to as official.
a custom rom is a custom rom, official only means it was made by the cm team, nothing more, and should not be confused with an official rom as made by the manufacturer.
everybody is right, end of story

Sorry for the confusion. I was asking about custom rom. I did not get email notification of any responses to this thread. So I did know that many members had provided their suggestions.

No problem. Latest 4.3 that i was able to find was the one for photon. Its on their cm page as a nightly from early feb 2014. You may have to change the dpi, but it does work.

We won't see 4.2 let alone 4.3. For either of those android versions aosp is your only hope
This is a legacy device, no chance will Samsung or the carriers release any future official updates for the phone. They want you to upgrade and buy the latest hardware to get that type of support.

ChameleonOS is only one option for getting Android 4.3 on the Relay. CyanogenMod's 10.2 nightlies are now running 4.3.1, ChaOS is based on CM 10.2. Just letting you know of the options out there. No one has done any other images for our phone as of yet.
Hello, i currently have SGH-T769 and cyanogenmod version 10-20130623 nightly, android version 4.1.2. I've heard about cm11 and 4.4 android kitkat(are these 2 seperate things? or is cm suppose to replace android firmware version)If so, do i need to unroot to update my android?. I would like to update my phone with the latest updates and I do not know where to start, I am still pretty new to all of this and would like to get the most out of it without missing out on anything. CM11 is 4.4. To update to 4.4, just do the same thing you did to get CM10. EXCEPT, you need to update your recovery (in the op of the CM11 thread) and the newest gapps (also in op of cm11). Just follow the instructions of the CM11 thread and you'll have it! Keep in mind, CM11 is in the early stages, so there will be bugs. Need anything else, don't hesitate to ask.

So a user in Invisiblek's firmware thread posted about Verizon's new pdf being uploaded. The pdf is blank as of this moment though. You can access it from here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/system_update/galaxys3.html
Edit: It's TW 4.3 if you continue reading, @droidstyle posted a link to it on Samsung-Updates.

The NC1 tar is 4.3 according to Samsung Updates.
This thread is still relevant though cuz the Sprint S3 is getting KitKat so (potentially) we're not far off.

pretty sure the nc1 build is gonna be official, gonna post a way to keep root for locked users and for unlocked users
Just so everyone is aware you CAN odin back to VRUCML1 after flashing the VRUCNC1 tar file. Ill post this in the other discussion thread just to make sure it is seen by anyone who might need to revert.
What changes does the new tar file bring? My bro has the 4.3 stock not rooted. So if this gives a better function that would be good news.

Hello,
I am currently running SlimKat stable build 7 with elemental x. My nexus 5 has been unlocked, rooted and been running custom roms since 4.4.1. I have flashed the 4.4.4. Radio recently and it's been working good.
Will i benefit from flashing a stock Rom apart from the Radio?? Will flashing stock fix any bugs I might have even though I'v e been running SlimKat with no problems at all.
Thanks.

I must admit I simply don't understand what you're getting at here. You say Slimkat is running good, why change it? If you go to stock you'll lose features. Most ROMs are about as stable as stock by now anyways.
and radios and roms are completely unrelated. you can flash whatever custom rom, none of them include radios. radios are a separate flash.
Very true. SlimKat at has been really stable for me. Its more of planning for the next Android OS release. Maybe something I'm not seeing or experiencing but might cause problems later on.

I understand I'll lose the features, but maybe there are certain "codes" that the stock Rom has and custom does not.
You are right though, most custom roms are very stable already.

As far as I know, there's no good reason to return to stock. People still on stock generally have had problems in the past with other ROMs and prefer the guaranteed stability of stock. I know Franco one of our kernel developers uses stock with his kernels and his reason given was because it's the only ROM that can support everyone the way he intended and guarantees it works properly.

This is why I am on stock. Seems like everytime I go with a custom ROM I eventually end up getting annoying system UI FCs. Very rarely ever get it on stock. Would love to ask what ROMs are the most stable so I can experiment, but alas that's not allowed so I'll stick with stock, but rooted.
