Hello,
today i rooted my Sensation XE, installed a new HBOOT 1.27 re-something, S-OFF. However, any custom rom i install can't connect to my local wifi. It shows up once, but once it has the wifi password entered, says its out of range.
I then figured i should update the firmware from 3.32 to 3.33, which I did, but nothing changed.
I tried the ARHD 7.3 rom, a RUU stock one, a CM 9.1 (which doesn't boot at all, just stuck in boot screen), and CM 11 from sultan (doesn't even install in 4EXT, just quits directly) and another "unofficial" CM11.
Any ideas what to do? Before I started, wifi was working great... and I would like it back!
Thank you!

flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command
the command is fastboot flash boot boot.img
otherwise i suggest to update yout recovery to the latest version preferably 4ext recovery
then flash the rom again
Thank you for your help!
Actually, it was a veeery stupid mistake: I was taking in and out the SD-Card quite often, so I wasn't putting the metal body around it. When I finally gave up yesterday night to get the wifi to work, i put the cover back on. In that moment, Wifi connected and has been running stable since then.
Didn't know apparently the antenna is in the cover

Did u flash boot.img separately?
If u unlock using htcdev u would need to do this every time u flash/restore a rom.

No I haven't I shall try it but I thought it was only for rom you flash
Flash boot.img separately. I didn't expect it to boot up. Lucky you that the kernel you had was compatible. Otherwise you would be stuck on splash screen.
Hit the thanks button and wam it dissappears ! Try it.
when the boot.img is flashed on the phone restarts and the Wi-Fi works but when the phone is restarted its stops again I am not sure why this is because
try to copy the the files from "modules" folder from the zip of kernel into system/lib/modules on your android. then restart phone

Hi there, I have a similar problem. My Desire S is rooted and S-OFF with a HBOOT 7.xxxxxxx in order to install the latest chinese ICS rom from HTC. I've flashed many roms but none of them can go the wifi. When I try to connect to my home router I always get the message "Obtaining IP address" and then restarts. On a nearby not protected wifi the phone connects, but internet doesn't work. It happened with MIUI roms from 2.3.9 to the latest 2.8.24, on CyanogenMod 9 and IceColdSandwitch.
Even before S-OFF the problem was the same. Only on CyanogenMod 7.2 I made wifi work, but after installing HBOOT 7 and chinese ICS rom even it can't run wifi anymore.
Please if anyone could help it was very appreciated! :crying:
I'am sure many have asked this.. Sorry for that. And my bad English..
I have a new Sensation (z710e) with a rooted stuck GB.
It started with problems getting s-off. I followed the guides from CyanogenMod wiki.
I ran it several times. I never saw a complete massage it kept losing the connection in fastboot.
However the time the third time revolutionary.exe said that my phone wash rooted (before running anything) and fastboot says its s-off.
SU is installed and root is seems to work in GB.
I'am only telling this because the problem may be here.???
The real problem is now upgrading to ICE or JB if you know any good roms.
I started installing Clockwork because i'am familiar with it from my Flyer and Desire Z.
I installed CM9 it boots ok. But right after i select language my phone freezes. (Battery out for reboot.)
Then i try installing Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 instead. First via Clockwork where the phone freezes after the white HTC logo. (Battery out for reboot.)
Then again via this guide and 4EXT recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21989107
Still stuck but now after a black android screen
GB is still booting after a nano recovery.
What to do.. What do do..?? Please help..

Pyramid pvt ship s-off rl
HBOOT: 1.17.1111
Radio: 10.11.9007.27_m3
you need to do a firmware upgrade. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 select the 3.32 version firmware not 3.33 . it seems like you will have less problems switching roms til you find the one you like if you use 3.32 version. follow the instructions to update firmware from bootloader then when thats said and done install rom for arhd 6.7.2 or whatever rom like you did before.
Seams to work now. Thanks dude.
ARHD still failed.. Maby besourse i select custum ?firmware?/something (boot.img) under install. To late to test now.
CM9 works fine..
Now i can sleep ok... Thanks.. I will return if more problems..
Still cant boot ARHD.. Any idea why?
OK.. here is the deal: HTC One S, T-MO, flashed recovery (TWRP), NO ROM would work in the WiFi dept. I tried flashing the radio and no matter what I couldnt get it to flash the 1.5 or 1.84 radio. TWRP would take forever and say it was complete, but the radio version still said 1.04 (or something) in hboot.
Also, I tried going back to a Stock Tmo RUU and it would ALWAYS fail at the signature part of the install EVEN THOUGH I relocked my bootloader.
SO- I unlocked my bootloader, I flashed CWM. Works like a charm.. or so it seems. I flashed the radio and it will only boot into CWM. I can flash a ROM but it still only boots into CWM. I cant even get into fastboot. This sucks.
Ideas anyone?
What happens if you do adb reboot bootloader from your computer while the phone is in CWM?
It reboots, the screen flickers for a millisecond or so (I am sure its probably trying to load hboot and gives some type of error so fast that I can't see) and then it goes to CWM. I am thinking about flashing it back to team win recovery...

Try flashing the boot.img thats compatible with your ROM. As for going back to stock try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927939 If you're on Hboot 1.14 then the T-Mo RUU's wont work for you. I had that problem.

OK.. I thought about that.. but my question is: How can I flash a boot.img if I cant get into fastboot? I installed the trickdroid ROM and I have the boot.img from the zip. I DID try to go back to stock (when I could still access everything pretty easily), but It got stuck on the signature part of the RUU. I went back to trickdroid and all was well sans the WiFi not working.
Can I flash a boot.img via ADB since that is the only thing really working right now?
Thanks

If you still need help...
I'm sure you guys have figured this out by now, but I Solved a problem very similar to this one in my Thread. I was able to return to Stock while still being Rooted.
Hi I recently tried installing MagioRom and now my phone wont boot. The last working rom I had was MaximusHD 10.0.0. I am S-off, H-Boot 2.15, and T-MOB010 and i have a U.S. Tmobile Htc One S I have tried restoring from several of my nandroids, inncluding my stock nandroid. I've tried several different RUU's (all Tmous), installed many different Roms, but the same thing always happens. The phone will go through the boot process but then freeze at the lock screen, showing only the status bar. After about 15-20 seconds it crashes and reboots. I've tried everything I can think of. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.
Go back to MaximusHD, this is the only ROM where your new firmware which you flashed will work. None of your nandroid backups will work unless you downgrade your firmware
I tired MaximusHD

Thanks for your help but I tried re-flashing MaximusHD, but no luck.It has the same problems as the other ROMs. The aroma installer will work fine and then the phone will boot and it will go through the full boot logo and then the status bar will come up and I can see battery and time, but the rest of the screen is dark. My radio is 1.13.50.05.31 if that makes any difference, I haven't been able to update it.
I see what I forgot do now. I didn't flash the firmware.zip, weird that the ROM worked anyway. I'll download and flash that and let you know if that fixes everything.
So even after trying the firmware.zip and yoouri instructions to install maximus HD it still wont boot. Im now hboot 1.16 and radio 1.20 Im still S-off and Cid is still T-MOB010

So you could fastboot flash the boot.img and see if that enables your phone to boot.
Then once booted, move the ROM.zip to your phone and reinstall ROM in recovery. (as per instructions) Or sideload the rom in TWRP so that you can reinstall the rom.
Still no luck

yes, I posted a couple ways

I've done the second way, but you may notice luxandroid installed old firmware before running the RUU.
Thanks but

I followed this guide and the phone booted again turned out the Rcdata was messed up somehow.

Hello - I'm new here,
Some day ago I was trying to change rom on my HTC One S. I've ended up with Cyanogenmod which worked almost ok but after some update system crashed.
So I was trying to find something else - I've ended on Venom.
I was having issues almost all the time - phone was resetting, had calling, signal issues.
Then today I was trying to install another rom but I've ended "softbricked" after installing newest Cyanogenmod for One s. Just blank screen after flashing it from recovery.
Please help me to make this phone to work I will have some big problems without it (I know I'm stupid messing with that in the first place)
Anyway if there's some good souls on XDA, here's my specs:
Team Win Recovery project 2.7.1.0
HBoot 2.15 - Tampered, S-On (no idea what happened)
radio 1.1.50
opendsp-v31.1.0.45.0815
And my situation: I was trying to install ANY of windows 8.1 driver that works with this phone but none of it was working properly. I have only connected and sent zip files trough adb commands (while in recovery).
PLEASE HELP! So many hours on this and nothing works as it should.
*crying idiot*
What rom should I install to make this phone shine again?
I have now unlocked fastboot on Windows thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/general/guide-fix-fastboot-windows-8-1-t2858337
Since you didn't mention it I got to ask you whether you flashed the kernel (boot.img) via fastboot after you flashed any rom via your recovery. Due to the fact that your phone is still S-ON none of the roms here on xda is going to work properly without that step.
I guess your problems started because the cyanogenmod update you tried to install contained a new kernel your phone couldn't flash on its own (because of the S-ON status).
Just unzip the "boot.img" from the rom archive into your fastboot/adb folder and flash it with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and your phone should work properly again.
Thanks!
I have flashed new boot.img before installing rom from recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/development/unofficial-slimkat-hboot-2-15-t2918217). And rom worked correctly - without reboots. I hope that is the end of my problems.
Should I do S-off and get rid of that Tampered thing? Or I can leave it as is?
Well, that depends on you. If you want do downgrade your hboot, install the leaked hboot 2.16 or don't want to be obliged to always flash the kernel seperately then you should S-OFF your phone.
The "tampered" actually has no effect besides that it may annoy you. It dissappeared after I ran a RUU the first time.
