Cannot turn wifi on - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all,
I'm using Nexus 5 normally ( no root, no kernel, etc ) but two weeks ago , I don't know why the Nexus 5 is rather hot and the wifi was turned off ( I didn't turn on 3G ). I powered off the phone the power on, after that wifi was turned on again. But more than half an hour the wifi was turned of again. And I see that my Nexus 5 is always rather hot ( I power off, it is still hot )
Now the wifi cannot be turned on anymore . I change the kernel, change the ROM but nothing happens. Please advise.
Thank you very much

GPS lock time with WiFi completely turned off

I've been seeing all praise about how fast the GPS locks. Mine doesn't lock very fast though, if I keep the WiFi off. It often takes about a minute or even few minutes to lock, even if I'm out in the open. If I turn on the WiFi it locks almost instantaneously, and locks at a GPS-ish accuracy, i.e., down to a few meters.
Does anybody have the same issue? Is it how it's supposed to be or I have a bad GPS chip?
I'm on Verizon running root66 with WiFi toggle. Note that when I say WiFi off I meant turning it off using the WiFi toggle. I don't think the stock WiFi toggle you access from the Settings page completely turns it off, since it'll still tell you if you are near a known WiFi network, it must be turning WiFi on whenever "needed".
I'm on Sprint. Just ran a test. With WiFi on or off indoors I lock within 5 seconds.
Mine has been that way since the day I had it. U may have a bad one.

anybody on Verizon has this issue, particularly when WiFi is turned off using the toggle in notification bar?
thanks.
With WiFi off, indoors (first floor in a 2-story house), I got a 10-foot lock in less than 30 sec from a cold start on a freshly reset phone (this morning)

OK. Then there's probably something wrong with my phone. I'll try revert back to 100% stock and get an exchange if it still has problem.
Yes, my gs3 is also like this. Normally takes a few minutes. Stock rooted but was the same way before root

[Q] HTC Inspire 4G maybe dead?

Hello xda-developers,
Long version: I have a HTC Inspire 4G device, a month ago i was doing a phone call for at least 10 minutes (the only thing I remember when I made the phone-call the battery bar percentage was 29% (according to GO Power Master app)), The phone shut down suddenly without notice. I tried to turn it on, it wont turn on, i went back home and i put it for charging, the LED was working (I thought it's down because power is low), then when I tried to open it, the phone was stuck on the HTC Logo and keeps rebooting.. I kept the phone for 2 hours in that case rebooting and rebooting until i touched it to find it's overheated. I removed the charging cable, the battery. Since that time whenever I want to turn on the phone, it won't. I removed the battery for 3 weeks now and i put it back, nothing changed. + no orange LED when putting the charging cable + it doesn't get detected on my PC + it gets OVERHEATED every time when putting the charge cable without being able to turn it on.
TL;DR version: HTC Inspire 4G won't turn on, gets overheated when putting on charge + no orange (charging) LED +can't be detected on PC
I don't know what to do, please let me know if there is something I can fix, Thanks for your time.
UP Please.
Can someone tell me what to do, please?

Nexus 5 screen won't lite up/turn on

Hello all,
Guyz I am having issues with my stock lollipop nexus 5 screen. The screen works perfectly but won't lite up.
On kitkat it happens mostly after I hang up any call and need to restart phone to turn the screen on.
After lollipop update in Nov last year the phone screen goes off any time. I restart phone or charge for long time and screen turns on because usually on lollipop when battery drains the screen issue begins. lollipop update has this problem in beginning to drain battery very fast. However afrer another quick lollipop update which fixes issues my phone works for around 2 months and last time I have low battery and power saving turned on, the phone goes off and until now screen stays off and rest works like charm.
I tried factory reset but couldn't perform as I was unable to see what's happening on phone. I de attach the battery 2 times and wait for sometime and pressed the power button to discharge any power in phone, then connected battery connectors again but still nothing happen.
Does anyone help me on this or let me know what to do.
Your help will be appreciated

Nexus 5 doesn´t turn on.

Hi there!
I have a Nexus 5 (Black and 16Gb) rooted, open bootloader and some tweaks, and my phone doesn´t turn on.
All started 5 weeks ago, when it suddenly turn off. I tried to turned it, but it wasn´t responding. Then it turned on alone, load the google splash, and then turn off. After turn off, it turned on it again, and turned off.
I solved the problem by hitting the back of the phone with my hand.
2 weeks later the problem came again, and the same thing.
Today, the problem came again, and I can´t solve it anyway. I tried "my method", but nothing. I disassemble it, but everything looks correct.
What Can I do to make it work?
Thank you!

I know it might sound stupid, but have you :
- Tried to connect to a charger, and see if the phone powers on or not
- Checked the power button, just in case it's broken
