[Q] TWRP won't download from the TWRP manager app - General Questions and Answers

I have been trying to download and install Team Win Recovery Project from the TWRP Manager app, since GooManager is down, and whenever I select "Install recovery" is takes me to the download page then a downloading progress bar pops up. I didn't do anything for 10 minutes and it didn't even start to download. I restarted the app, re-installed the app, and even restarted my phone and nothing changed. Why isn't TWRP downloading. I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337) and I used the codename jtleatt on TWRP manager. I have root access but I don't know if my bootloader in unlocked or not. I checked to see if TWRP installed without my knowing but it hasn't. I still have the stock recovery.

Try finding a .zip version of TWRP for your phone and then just flash it thru recovery. that what i did and it worked
My device:
Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (rooted)
Rom:AOSP (4.4.2)
Carrier:At&t
Dont forget to thank me if i helped

I went to the TWRP website and downloaded the latest version of TWRP which is 1.7.1.0. Then I went into the TWRP Manager app and selected the file to install it. Then I selected my phone and it started to download. Oddly the progress bar, as I mentioned before, started to actually work and it finished and it said that it was successful. I then selected "Reboot to Recovery". My phone rebooted and it took me to a screen that said " Downloading" "Do not turn off target" it stayed this way for about 10 minutes. At this point I knew something was wrong so I took out the battery and turned my phone back on. It just went right back to that screen. So then I started to panic because I though my phone was done for. Then I turned it off and turned it back on, but I pressed the volume done button, home button, and power button. This took me to a custom rom downloading screen then I pressed "Cancel" and my phone rebooted like normal. No damage done. I even restarted my phone and it booted up just fine. Why did this happen.

Try flashing the zip file thru recovery( using the button sequence) and go thru their. you dont have twrp installed as a recovery so thats why it fails

How can I just get the Downloading Do not turn off target to go away and for the stock recovery to come back. I don't know if I can even install TWRP with this happening so I want to start fresh

downloading mode is a mode that is used for flashing a phone with a PC!!
you can remove battery in downloading mode if no process is going on(that means not connected to pc via odin)
to go to recovery....
Power off your device completely.
Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously.
Release the buttons when the phone’s screen flickers or the Stock / CWM / TWRP Recovery logo appears.
That is it, after you release buttons, you will be taken to the main Recovery Mode menu.
Use its settings to apply any tasks you wish in order to improve your Galaxy S4 operating system.
To reboot back to normal Galaxy S4 mode, you need to return to the first Recovery screen and select ‘reboot system’.

I want to get rid of it completely. Every time I go into recovery download mode pops up. How do I get it to stop going into download mode and for it to go to my recovery. I have tried the remove battery method and I can boot up my phone fine but it keeps going into download mode when I want to go to recovery.

what keys do you press to go to recovery???

He probably did something that lost the recovery, try flashing cwm or twrp via odin see if it fixes it

Could having a locked bootloader and incorrectly install twrp cause this. Or could just trying to flash TWRP with a locked bootloader do this?

I'm having this problem as well.
When I try to install TWRP through TWRP manager it just stays at 0.
I've also tried ROM Manager to install cyanogen mod, and that one also just never downloads either.
I tried using KK SD Card Fix but that did nothing.

You need to update the TWRP app. They fixed this problem in there new update. I still wouldn't work for me because the Samsung Galaxy S4 AT&T has a locked bootloader.

[Q] Problem with ODIN after JB update

Hello everyone.
I'm having a strange problem booting into ODIN. I just recently got one of the VRBLK1 leaked images and flashed my phone over and then rooted and installed TWRP onto my phone. As well as SuperSU + Unlocked Bootloader. I have ZERO problems with the phone running, or booting or anything like that, except when it comes to ODIN.
For some reason my phone will just not boot into ODIN mode. When I hold down vol down, home and power, it'll briefly display the ODIN/OS warning and then disappear back into the off mode with simply the battery level display. No matter how fast I try to press the UP volume key the result is the same. However the phone is completely functional other than that.
Any suggestions? I'm just trying to remove all the bloatware from my phone and this is holding me up from installing Clockwork Mod to do so.
Thanks,
Well use ez recovery from the play store to install cwm. Also try Odin mode without being plugged in.

Unable to boot GT-P6200 in recovery mode

Hi
I cannot get my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (GT-P6200) to boot in recovery mode.
I tried the following:
1) Switch off the Tab.
2) Press the Power + Volume Up buttons simultaneously until I see the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus" screen, then release the Power button and keep pressing the Volume Up button. The tab then get's stuck on the Samsung screen, even if I release the Volume Up button. It stays on this screen indefinitely, only option is to reboot by keeping the power button pressed for 5 seconds.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Same problem
any help ???
On which verison thar ur on???? have u tried to wiping data in stock recovery
??
same problem I'm having with my Samsung Gt-p6200, it just boot-loops to the "samsung galaxy tab 7.0" boot loading screen and hangs.. these happened after i flashed my firmware from stock honeycomb to jellybean(the austria firmware, i think that's been posted in this forum).
here's what happened before the problem:
-I flash the stock honeycomb firmware with the jellybean one that i found here..
-after i flashed using ODIN, the new firmware works great, i was even informed that i have free 50GB worth of dropbox space,
the file was named P6200XXMC3_P6200OXAMC3_ATO
- I have used it for a day, until the battery drains and i have to charge, but when i opened it again, it already does this "boot loop" problem
- i have tried flashing CWM with ODIN(as i've read here somewhere that it might help) and do that wipe cache and factory reset thing but that didnt help solved the problem.
hope anyone could help me, im also thinking flashing it back to it's original stock firmware but I dont have a backup of that and I dont know where to get one, I've been searching the net for two days for that stock rom but all i found are the new jellybean ones and some old ones but is uploaded to hotfile which is now deleted or locked.
I hope you guys could help me out and thanks in advance!
try flashing a new , latest firmware on odin
just try it.

Hello guys! Im also having this same issue.
*Using the same firmware that was posted here in xda because i was having trouble downloading those official jellybean firmwares
*The battery got drained
then if i charge it, it will remain in a "blank slightly illuminated screen"
* after a few munutes, the tab gets really warm.
*but if i dont charge it, it will get drained again because it keeps on turning on itself back to this time to the "galaxy tab plus screen"
I cant access recovery mode.
I can access odin mode and can flash successfully with cwm or the same firmware back but the problem still persist.
I havent tried other firmwares though.
4 days passed already and i cant figure this out
Please help
So I had this happen to me yesterday, where it rebooted randomly on me, only to freeze on the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus screen. I had custom recovery (TWRP) don't know if that matters, but I was able to access it by holding Power+UpVol but keep it held. It would freeze on the same spot but since I was still holding the keys it reboots a second time and this time it would go into recovery.
I then wipes cache and dalvik, no go. Sadly did a full wipe. Still no going past the tab plus text. So I flash MF1 official 4.1.2 firmware (I was previously on 4.1.2 UK official) still no go. Put in latest 2.8 TWRP and booted into it still with some trouble as I mentioned above. Did another wipe and it then hung on blank screen or so I thought. Took a long time to boot and after a long time, and the Android is upgrading message, by some weird chance I was on the MF1 official rom but all my apps settings everything was saved.
Working 100% now and I still don't really know what the hell happened. But if this helps anyone then all the better!

[Q] GT-P6800 - can only boot to download - help!

My GT P6800 was working fine a few days ago. Charged it fully and went on holidays. Went to turn it on, and no activity. Plugged it in to charge, the battery icon came on screen and I let it charge fully. I then tried to turn it on again, and it still wouldn't turn on. I've now found that the only thing I can do is boot into download mode. Vol Down and Power brings up the Download Mode menu, when I press Vol Up, it enters Download Mode, when I press Vol Down to reboot, the screen blanks and nothing happens. I've tried pressing the power button for up to 30 seconds - nothing. I've tried entering recovery mode using Vol Up and Power buttons - nothing.
I entered download mode and tried to install ClockworkMod recovery using Odin, but once Odin had finished and "rebooted" the tablet, the screen went blank and nothing happened.
I'm happy to blow this away, install any ROM etc., would just like to get it working. It's been a while since I last rooted/flashed it, but I believe it's still running 4.04, and was rooted some time ago.
Any tips very welcome!
Try flash a full stock firmware package with Odin.
Try with your current firmware version first.
Try with HC 2nd.

Hmmm... I installed P6800XXLQ2_P6800OXALQ2_ATO obtained from Sammobile using ODIN, had "Automatically reboot" ticked, and once the flashing finished, the device didn't reboot. I then tried all the power button options, and the only one that gave a response was entering download mode. I then entered download mode, and let it sit there for a while while I did a bit more research, and then I noticed the screen went blank. I've now tried to turn it on again, and now get no response at all. Will try to plug it in to charge for a bit and see if it responds.
Any other ideas?
Ok, not sure what's happened here. Plugged it in, it showed the charge icon, and then booted up. Nothing has been wiped, it still shows as 4.0.4. I'm wondering if for some reason it was actually booting, but the screen wasn't coming on properly, and therefore it's run the battery down. It's now showing as charging, and the battery currently has 0% charge. Will let it charge for a while, then try root, install CWM and flash 4.1.2....
thanks for your help.
I have the same problem. I can enter only in download mode, if I press Vol Up I still see Samsung logo, no any actions. I've tried to install CWM, stock firmware, PIT with re-partition. No success. Need your help, please.
If you'se can get to download mode... using Odin, Flash stock Honeycomb..3.2...
If you get that (HC) up and running, then do the steps to up and up to JB...
good luck

i think the fastest and easiest way to solve this is to flash stock rom using odin since you can get into dl mode.

The problem is i don't have my laptop with me. Is there any way to restore it via sdcard,or anything else,if not, will have to go to samsung service center,if it's the last choice.
Your idea of backing up on other core may be able to work, however, your bricked core needs to have cwm installed to restore the backup on which I am still not sure if it will work. The real quickest way to fix that is to flash the stock rom.

Samsung Galaxy S4 bootloop

Hi, I have a Galaxy S4 I9500 and I'm using GEAR CM13
The ROM was working fine until a while ago, but now suddenly there's a bootloop. Last thing I remember doing was accidentally holding the power button a bit long (while trying to lock the phone) so the power off/reboot menu came up and and then I tried to exit from it, but the menu didn't go away and the phone entered into a boot loop
Now, the Samsung i9500 logo just keeps flashing every 5 seconds. I'm unable to enter into recovery mode. I can enter download mode but it just exits out of that after 5 seconds and starts flashing i9500 logo again. I read about a hack to remove battery as soon as I enter download mode and it worked. It stays on download mode now. ODIN recognizes the device. What can I do using ODIN to fix the bootloop? Is there any ODIN flashable zip? I'm on the latest [20160711] build. I have important data in my device. Please help me recover it
I know I can reflash stock ROM and from there, reflash GearCM13 but I do not want to lose data as much as possible. I'm trying for fixes which do not wipe my data partition. I will go ahead with the standard method if I do not find a fix to recover from bootloop without losing data.
