TEXT message on lock screen

Dear friends, i have used iphone in the past, with iphone i was able to see my text messages on lock screen.
When my iphone was locked, and if i get a txt message.
the lock screen will turn on display the incoming text message user name
i want to know if there is a way of getting that on my nexus s
here is what i have in my setting page:
model number: nexus s
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: I9020XXKI1
Kernal Version: 3.0.8-TNS-ge18627d-dirty [email protected]))#666 PREEMPT Mon Apr 16 08:52:32 CDT 2012
Build Number: IMM76D
ROM: Dedoxed ICS

Phone lost vibration feature after custom ROM update

Hi, I've been using quite alot of ROMs past year, but recently came across ROM which I like: NovAndroid 2.1.5, but notice that it's missing vibration feature after update. Has anyone has similar issue or this ROM supposed to be withou vibration ?

The ROM doesn't control the vibration ,, the kernel is the thing that controls the hardware . Check your kernel . But maybe the ROM (I didn't try this ROM) .

which one you're using now? is battery life ok?

i am on CM 10 but i will change it because i have ghost calls and WI-FI hot spot is not working and of course there is no 3d. My phone worked best with thiaz and dna 3.3.3.also batery was best on tziaz.on CM10 i unplug it about 7am and i must plug it again about 8 pm.i am using phone for calls,checking e-mails...(normal usage without playing games or similar)

the date of import shown on the box is March 2013

the kernel ver is 3.0.13
the build no. is LWDEB.01.1.1_MD10

No... you are running on stock rom v2.... you can update to latest firmware if you want... but stock rom v3 has some bugs... flash at your own risk

[Q] Flashed LeanKernel 5.5.5 on CM10.1, unfortunately boots into black screen :(

I was using a March 3 stable release of CM10.1 for the Verizon Galaxy S3 and the cyanogenmod kernel, everything was working fine. I was using leankernel on a different build of CM, so I got an updated version of leankernel and made sure it was compatible with my version of CM. I flashed the kernel in CWM, made sure to clear the cache/dalvik and now boots, shows the Galaxy S3 logo for a split second, then the screen turns black and cannot do anything. Any help? I am pretty sure I was rooted considering I could give root access to applications, and it would appear under the superuser in the Settings.

What date is your current rom from? LK 5.5.5 should only boot on AOSP roms dated April 19th or newer.

Current ROM is from March 3rd, I believe. I know it's from March. Is there a leankernel version that would work with a March 3rd release of CM?

I'm fairly certain AOSP roms from March 3rd are Linux 3.0 based. Which means you can only use AOSP LK 2.8 and LK 2.9. I don't run AOSP roms but I keep up with the AOSP kernel threads a good bit just for knowledge purposes.
I said this once but it needs repeating in a different manner. Imo isn't continuing work on Linux 3.0 kernels so you'll remain on that setup until you update your rom to one of the latest builds.

KOT49H CM11 roms

Quick question everyone sorry for my huge lack of understanding. Why do ROM titles say KOT49H and CM11 in the title? I thought KOT49H is Google stock firmware number does that mean its based off Google firmware with cm11 features? Or is that just Google numbering for the aosp version. Thanks.
