Introduction
This is the App you didn't knew you were missing since years. Switch to your last used app with just a tap on the floating button over you screen. Once you get used to, you won't be leaving it for a day. And as the Play Store description says,
Think about the last channel button on your TV remote, which makes switching between two channels as easy as pie. Now think about a button on your mobile/tablet which switches you to the last used application with a single tap.
Imagine, you are browsing internet and a message arrives. Normally, you would minimize your browser, open the chatting application, and reply to the message. Then press the recent apps button, find your browser, tap on it, and then continue browsing, huh! Suddenly, another message arrives!
With LAS (Last App Switcher), you will be like "tap", chatting, "tap", browsing. Envision the figure of precious minutes you are going to save in a day.
Salient Features:
Persistent button floating above all your apps.
Switch between two apps quickly with just a single tap.
Snappy transition animations configured to save you even more precious fractions of a second.
Semi-transparent floating button feels lot less meddlesome.
Extremely light on resources.
And It's free, absolutely free. No ads, no hidden charges.

These are some features, I have considered to include in future releases, in no particular order.
# Edge swipe gesture, instead of the floater, to switch to the last app.
# An Xposed module and a navigation bar button (I personally thing this feature would be great).
# Eliminating the 5 second delay after home key press using Xposed.
# An arc view for multiple level app switches (Another great feature to come).
# App exclusion list will replace Home screen exclusion.
# The LAS floater automatically hides when there is a full screen application running in foreground.

This is a fantastic idea, but would you consider making it a shortcut or activity so that I can access it from other areas on the system without having to keep a prominent floating button on my screen at all times? Thank you.
I second this proposal. It could be extra useful even it wetter an app without an ui, which only toggles the foreground app with the previous one.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
May be very useful; much more efficient than dealing with "recent apps" types of toggles/menus.
Would like to be able to turn off haptic feedback though.....

Yes, a shortcut for the Home screen. Exactly.

Yes, this would work too, but then the developer wouldn't be able to make it customisable. A shortcut would do the trick.

Thanks, I will be adding it in my next update or so.
But, There is a problem, Android doesn't allow any activity call within 5 seconds of Home key press. So, such a shortcut at home screen will be useless, as user would have to wait for 5 seconds after pressing home key to switch to last used app, isn't it. Any suggestions?
I don’t intend to use the shortcut from the Home screen. Shortcuts work systemwide and there are plenty of apps that allow you to trigger them in various ways. I could, for instance, set a voice command “switch to last app” that would trigger your shortcut, or I could map it to a target on the Navigation Bar or Navigation Ring. It would make your app very versatile.
(Feel free to charge for your app. Kuchh paisey to kamao! )

Oh, that's a great idea. I was already thinking about it. Will start working on it.
(Aur rahi baat paison ki, to "Picture, abhi baaki hai mere dost". )
I would use it as a clickable in Pie Control Pro, which I use mostly as a task launcher and switcher.
I asked the developer of that app to implement something like that but I haven't had any response yet.

How about a small bar on the edge which when swiped turns into the bubble and when left, shrinks back to the bar and sticks to the edge.
It's a good idea, simple and unobtrusive. I like it
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm not a fan of systemwide edge gestures. Most apps already use them for features of their own, so it creates conflicts. It's much better than the bubble, but please make sure you add the shortcut as well.

I will be adding two options in future, the bar thing and an edge gesture. With an option to choose between the bubble and gesture. And of course, a shortcut as well.

Is there any chance to create an exposed-module version of this app? I would pay for it @ playstore...

thanks for the interest,
Strangely, the app isn't easily found in the play store. I'm guessing its not popular enough yet.
The link is under the pictures in the first post.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.varience.triggerlimited
Those with a Samsung device can download Trigger from the Samsung AppStore for the free version without the six gesture limitation.
Trigger just became even better than it already is!
Now introducing 2 New Panels: NotePad Panel, ClipBoard Panel!
Have you ever seen such a clean and beautiful notepad?
Now its easily one gesture away!
One Tip: For those who don't want to always have the Trigger icon on the screen, you can now switch to using Trigger as a Home Launcher.
Double Tap home to launch the gesture field, there's no need to keep the icon on the screen anymore.
Thank you so muck.

It should be in the store, however Samsung Apps is still verifying update v1.5, so it will be a while before v1.7 arrives on there.
:good:excellent app.. long tym user of trigger.. trigger pulling something that separate this app from hundreds of other gesture based Apps.. few suggestions from my point of view.. it will be handful if there is additional pull direction like southeast, northeast, southwest and northwest direction.. And also need additional SPL actions like back button simulation, kill task. kill all task, menu similar to aokp ROMs and lmt launcher app.. ..glad if they make into oncoming update..
Perhaps one of the best apps I've seen in quite a while. Seriously well done, from looking fantastic to being fantastic.
One constructive criticism, perhaps change the gesture panel enabler icon. Or allow us to choose another one. I personally wouldn't mind a simple grey translucent triangle that i could position in the top left corner of the screen. Unobtrusive and not unsightly at all.

one of the best apps, good job
must admit.. its a brilliant start... testing the app now...
one thing i noticed... If i keep the icon in the corner, like suppose the middle screen right corner then the swipe right option doesnt work..
similarly if its at the edge, like bottom right then the swipe right and swipe down options dont work
keeping the icon in the middle of the screen kinda defeats the purpose of it being unobtrusive .. just an opinion
(im on nova launcher with grid layout set to 6 x 4)

I'm afraid that's not something I can fix if the icon is placed in the corner or sides.
It's a trade off for putting them in certain locations.
Personally I keep mine close to the side, but with enough distance to still activate the actions.
However, maybe the next update will help.
Next update includes pulling the trigger in 8 directions! 4 more quick actions to work with, so it might make putting it to the side or corners more agreeable.

What's the battery drain like on this app? If it runs constantly on top of all apps, must be noticeable?

Barely any battery drain at all. The only part that runs on top off all apps is just the tiny icon. Nothing else runs unless you touch it.
You can think of it as just your app containing one additional image and even if you leave it there, it won't affect the battery.
Unless you choose to change the icon to display the time or battery instead. Then it's more active and might affect the battery a little bit.

Problem with the app
Hallo.
I've bought your app for my Galaxy Note 2.
At the beginning it worked but after few configuration it started to abort and at the moment it is impossible to use it.
Is there any known bug for Note 2?
Is it possible to have a working release?
Thank you.

Hello, I've tried this app, awesome work and it seems to be extremely customizable.
However I can't think of a reason how this app can replace gmd, is it clipboard/note function?
Maybe you can emphasize on the differences to increase appeal of this app

ROTATION MANAGER PREMIUM EDITION
Rotation Manager 3rd Generation is here!
WORKS WITH LOLLIPOP (5.x)
ABOUT
Rotation manager is a tool that lets you choose which application you want to rotate or which one you don't want to rotate. It is a really simple app designed for the least possible power and RAM consumption.
FEATURES
- Force the orientation of each app to your liking.
- Rotate your device freely, without worrying if your apps will change orientation.
- Orientation lock
- Forced Auto option
- Forced inverse portrait/landscape
- App-specific orientation
- Option for permanent notification, called "Permanent Notification mode"
*Premium Version:
- Per App inverse
- Automatic Brightness adjustment
- Automatic Screen timeout
- Automatic Media volume level
HOW TO USE
The floating button is the global orientation for all the apps. It is a 7-state button and gives you all the orientation possibilities. <b>Long click to enter inverse modes.</b> Then you can select from the list for every app your desired orientation. Your selection will override the default global orientation. If you want only two apps to rotate and all the others to stay at their default, just disable global orientation and then select both Portrait and Landscape for the specific app in the list. After you have selected your desired apps, just click on play and your settings will be in effect.
If you want to enable extra features, just click on the 3 dots next to the app's icon and select which features you want to override in each app.
Βy enabling "Permanent Notification mode" from "Preferences" an invisible permanent notification starts which ensures that the service will not be killed by the OS. Enable it if you have low RAM problems and the orientation service stops.

You have the option to enable it, so the app runs on boot each time.
Any help is appreciated!!
Nice start. I think the interface layout is a bit confusing, but it works.
Feature request: Per app ability to force different rotation locks, e.g. one app force portrait, another force landscape. Obviously this would necessitate a UI rethink.

Thanks for the feedback. The only way of doing this without root permissions is with a permanent notification. We may add that option for those who have such problems.
Thanks again!

Yes you can force your orientation preference on any app. For example i set fruit ninja to be only portrait at it worked nice. (Although it sucks that way )
Cheers

Hi,
thank you for this amazing app!
I don't understand why this feature is not builtin in Android!
I did a quick review about your app here:

What do you think?

WooW man! Thank you very much. I'll make a reference to your review at the first post.
The review is great! I only have one comment. You say "If Auto-Rotate is On the configuration for each app will be ignored. You can clear all the configuration for each app by tapping on Clear All." Well that is not true. The Auto-Rotate button is System's configuration. It is just a shortcut to that setting. The button that starts our application is the "play" button at the top.
We are still working on the app in order to make it more user friendly, but we are on an exam period right now. So stay tuned...
Thanks again,

Just gave it a quick test here and I must say it works pretty well. Specially after I assigned it to a gesture on homescreen.

Contact Searches will be nice i guess, really helps the elderly with their T9 recognition Gonna subscribe!
Its very good, very smooth. You hace just cleared my homescreen of lots of apps. The only thing left in my homescreen are Dial an App, Browser, Google Maps and Iron Man 3.
Aesthetic wise, I feel like it needs more improvement, but hey, thats only graphical part. the core part is flawless.
Suggestion: Perhaps user will be able to 'dial up' settings? You know, like going directly to the WiFi settings, or directly to storage setting to eject USB on the go, or more importantly turning on the USB debugging inside the developer mode. I'm sure this will be a major request. Although you should also add a setting whether to enable dialing up shorcut settings or not, not all people want it.
Suggestion: I guess you need to add a setting page if you want to corporate more feature, as most people want to use certain feature and dont want to use certain feature.
Idea: There are some people that hide certain app and dont want people to see it, I guess it will be a bad situation if your app shows their hidden app.
Great app, will they be a paid version? Not a fan of the ads, would give a couple bucks to get rid of them!
Sent from my Nexus 7
Yes there will be an ad-free paid version as soon as I integrate contact search and a few other features in the upcoming version.
Keep the feed backs coming, helps me make this better and better.
What about apps with space in their name? The current version dont have any space input.
I suppose you wouldn't have to type the words after the space as , as soon as you are type the first word i.e the one before the space you will have that app in the grid already, for example: typing "Google" will give u "Google Play", " Google Music" , "Google Music" etc already on scren making it easier to choose, also you can easily type just the word after the space like "Music" that will give you "Google Music" too thereby saving an additional button press for "space"
correct me if I am wrong.
Interesting app. I have a couple of suggestions on how to improve it more:
The app shouldn't show up in recent apps, as people will probably access it through a shortcut and use it to launch other apps
It would be better user experience if the dialer was drawn over your current app, instead of using your wallpaper as a background -- this would give a more fluid app launching and changing experience instead of the current feeling of being taken away from your current activity
It would be nice to be able to change the app icon grid and icon sizes -- some people will want fewer but bigger icons, some people will prefer longer list with smaller icons
Since there's quite a lot of screen space for listing the apps, you could implement (an optional) row of recently launched/recently used apps. I think a lot of users are really just switching between 4-5 most common apps and this would make the interaction faster.
In addition, there could be an option to pin a favorite app(s)
Lastly, it's not at all obvious how one can change the keypad colors (long-press on clear seems to do it), and you are left wondering if there are other settings available as well (like changing the grid size)
Like I said, the app looks great and works well too.

I wasn't aware, I'll have to check, however Dial an App is soon going to be a complete Dialer and a part of my upcoming Homescreen launcher, you can give it a try and see for yourself all the features. Your feedback will be appreciated.
You know, I'm a right handed. My phone screen size is 4.7 inch diagonal. The situation now is that, after there's only one app left in the screen, its all the way at the top left, which is quite a stretch for my thumb. You might even have problem with this yourself. So I was thinking maybe after one app has left, the app will be highlighted (somehow) and brought to the center, that would be better I think. or maybe you can just touch anywhere on the screen and it will launch that app. Or just add another button that will launch that one app left standing.
You konw, this reminds me of Ubuntu OS, which is quite similar. Maybe you take insperation from these? My point is, after a few letter, the app that you want might be the first app in the list, so you can just tap a button and it will launch the first app in the selection. Of course for me, I feel it will be better if the app selection there will have some sort of popularity calculation to determine which one comes first, kind of like when you type iin the address bar in Firefox, most frequently visited site will appear first in the list.

If you have like a hell lot of apps on your phone, this is the app the one you'd expect to save you some great amount of time. Would love to see further updates and appreciate your work. Subscribed.
Awesome app and a great idea! Can't wait for the paid version!
One small request - can you make a widget out of it? This would be an awesome full screen widget to replace my standard home screen (or maybe put it a page over from the home screen).
Contact Search would be awsome man!

There are 2 bugs.
1) Chrome opening in center and not the top: This is XHaloFloatingWindow bug. I have already come up with a fix. It will be in the next version.
2) Only 1 app shows at a time: This is the Kitkat homescreen visibility bug. You can fix it by using this Xposed module

Ok. I find some other issues too, maybe they are related and fixed with the chrome fix you're talking about.
Anyway, here's a video:

@zst123 aweeeesoooome!
Some requests:
- a swipe back gesture over the icon to hide the bar.
- bar always in fullscreen so that there is no movement when entering fullscreen apps:
- a hide feature

Additionally to the the already mentioned bugs I found some more:
- mw splitbar overlapping original Samsung mw icon, the new mw icon and both sidebars
- splitbar doesn't show the arrow
- when I open the gallery (doesn't find another app with that behavior yet) the other window turns black
- it's not possible to open two instances of one app although the app supports that (for example s browser)

ohhh my god! how you did that! wonderful work...I love Samsung's Multiwindow and multiwindow sidebar!!
I am just testing it and it really looks cool..a few suggestions:
The arrow sidebar, I am, bad habit I guess, keep sliding from left to right, i guess because many of sidebar apps here XDA does implement the gesture thing...of course when I do it, the arrow keeps moving up and down..I guess this is all about usability thingy, I don't know but I guess I will get used that!
Hopefully, we will see some themes available to sidebar...:good:
I am looking at my Note 3's sidebar, when opened the side bar, it is full length screen (from bottom to top no spaces)..what I meant is sidebar is full length, so no spaces..almost like running top of launcher :fingers-crossed:
nevertheless, excellent work!!!!:good::good:

This look cool than the Samsung side bar
Test repot.
Tested fully so far no problem I love the way it is. I can say perfect
amazing work by zst123
Edit : one request pls integrate this to your xposed halo multiwindow

@zst123, could you build in this app to xposed. It doesn't stay in RAM always, I've to restart it.

Only bugs so far (with xhalo) are the chrome one you mentioned and and that i can't open two windows of the same app (first one closes).

Really loving it....but a suggestion could you add long press back to enable and disable it...it would surely be nice....by the way thanks....[emoji4][emoji4]

This is amazing. Hats off to you for making multitasking on vanilla Android not suck.
I've reported the two major bugs I encountered to GitHub, although both seem to be caused by XHaloFloatingWindow and not the sidebar itself. Let me know if you need more testing.
As for feature requests, I have but one - an option to launch apps in "normal" (full-screen) mode when tapping their icon.
Hi, really impressive, very good job! :good:
Seems to work very well on CM 11...thank a lot @zst123
thnx for this.
can u add it to bottom too like it allowed in 4.1.2 update on n7100??
and long press open close or shortcut so any gesture app can trigger that.
An Awesome App !! Thanks dev !!
BTW can i include this in my ROM ?
Can you make a drag ability
Because when i want to drag the Arrow out it seems to be slow and when i want to return it back itsn't back i must press om screen :/ .
Other than .. Thanks a lot !
P.S : is there a code to add in my ROM to make this on always when someone install my ROM ?

Text Aide started out as a simple Xposed module called Text Xposed to add 3 options (Define, Search and Share) to the Contextual Action Bar when some text was selected while typing.
But now it has a lot of features which do not require Xposed at all.
• Define Picking up from xDictionary by @perseus0807, this displays the definition of the selected word as a pop-up. Ideal when you are reading an e-book or a news article and find it rather distracting to open a dictionary app again and again.
There are two ways to do this without Xposed
• First is to activate a feature called "Copy to define" from the settings. As the name suggests, you just have to select some text and hit the copy button.
It can be easily paused from the notification when you don't need it.
Enabling the + button shows you a pop-up with the copied text, which is useful in apps like WhatsApp where a word can't be selected singularly from the chats
• Second is to share the text and select Define
• Third is to use the homescreen widget
• For Play Books you can also use "Web search" feature. And for Moon+, FB Reader dictionary feature choose "ColorDict"
• Offline definitions available in 5 languages currently: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish
• For more languages you can use my app Dict Aide which supports StarDict dictionary packs
• Online thesaurus with a list of synonyms and antonyms
• In addition to that, you can quickly switch to Wikipedia for additional information and Wiktionary for languages that currently do not have offline access. You can do this in any language! Just modify it in the settings.
• Expand This gives you system wide text expansion. You can define a macro (shortcut) like @addhome to type your full home address! Very useful if you type something often.
Just set a shortcut and let Text Aide do the rest!
• Search You can add a list of your favourite search engines and access them quickly from a sidebar. Also includes a floating browser
• First way is to use Copy Aide and enable the search button from the notification.
• Second is to share the text and then select 'Enhanced Search' from the dialog
• Third is to use the search button in AOSP (based) browsers or apps like Wikipedia.
• It can also be done using the homescreen widget
• Share You can do the following things by sharing text
• Copy - As the name suggests, you can copy it from the share menu
This will also be shown in browser selection menu (when you tap on a link).
• Dial You can use the shared text to place a call.
• Open As URL - This allows you to open the selected text in the web browser as a URL/link (if it's valid).
• Speak Using this feature, you can make (almost) any text on your device speak using TTS engine.
This can be very useful if you're learning a new language!
Please watch the video for a good demo on how to use it.
Xposed gives you additional control. You can double tap a TextView (which means fields like WhatsApp chat bubbles, YouTube comments, Play store description, etc) to force selection.
This, however, has some limitations and might not work in all apps.
You will also get all the five buttons (Define, Dial, Search+, Share & Speak) in the contextual action bar on selecting some text in most apps.
For Chrome, you can use my module called Chrome Selection Patch
Browsers like Dolphin, Opera, etc are not supported
Installation
Download from Play Store or Xposed repository and install as any other app
Known Bugs
Overflow button gets camouflaged if the background of action bar is white (Android bug)
Selection handles and paste button overlap the overflow menu
Anything else? Let me know
To Do
HTC Compatibility
Add more search engines
Upload to Github for translations, etc
Browser support
Thesaurus
Update dictionary
More ideas are welcome

For Xposed users, this is useful in apps like Google messenger where double tap doesn't work.
3.1
The app is now free on Play Store. To donate, please use in-app payment.

- [Xposed] SystemUI blacklisted by default, to prevent interference

Copy which will show up in Share and Browser complete action menus
and Open as URL which can open the selected text in a browser

- You can now select the views you'd like to keep. Default is set to English and Wikipedia
- Wikipedia's langauge can be changed according to your needs. Default set to English (en)
- Blacklist added for double tap feature as it has been problematic in some apps
- Some other minor changes
2.7
- Double tap to make TextView selectable. Works in most apps! Exceptions found so far are Tapatalk, Google messenger, CyanogenMod MMS app. Could be more but works fine in WhatsApp, Xposed installer logs, YouTube comments/description, etc
- "Test Define" option inside settings to preview all the settings without rebooting again and again!
- Custom font to maintain consistency across all devices.
- Font size mechanism changed. Lesser steps but more (and better) control
- Other miscellaneous changes

- Material design
- Edit fields in Chrome browser patched (Define not available)
- French translation thanks to @Micks29
2.1
Quick fix update
- Improved pop-up: Smaller size and better padding. Must look much better now
2.0
Major Release!
The Define framework has been revamped completely!
It was previously based on xDictionary's code, and hence used "WordNet" database for definitions. Unfortunately, it lacked many words, as you must have experienced.
Now, Text Xposed has switched to Livio's Dictionary Provider code.
Advantages
- The most obvious advantage is that the module's size has shrunk to ~50 KB.
- The defintion is now displayed using WebView, so you can pinch to zoom and select text inside it to copy or share
- Livio's dictionary is very comprehensive. You can even search for small words like is, that, etc. And it gives you etymology, synonyms, translations, etc along with the defintion!
- The module and dictionary app complement each other really well. You have a different UI to search for words, when Text Xposed is not accessible.
- You get proper and direct updates for the dictionary from Play store and I don't have to worry about maintaining the dictionary.
- Livio provides more dictionary packs for Italian, French, German and Spanish. Support for these will be added eventually, but low priority for now.
If there are many requests, I might do it earlier though.
Other Changes
- Toast is now gone. Although, it is possible to extract a part of the definition, I felt the main chunks were still too big for a toast.
- I will, however add a time-out option for the pop-up.
- HTC compatibility implemented. Need some more feedback though
- Code Cleanup
TL;DR - Just tell me what to do
- Ok so first of all, delete the "xdictionary" folder. It is no longer needed.
- Then you need Livio dictionary. Either download from here, or press the Define button after a reboot. It will show you a dialog with the link
1.1
- Fixed Define for some devices
- Changed toast for dictionary data copy confirmation
- Other minor changes
1.0
- Initial
Chrome Selection Patch

AND Search in Incognito mode.

By “pops up” you mean next to the paste button?
And yes web view needs define option. Added to my to-do list! But some browsers use custom action bars. Might not work with those

I meant the screenshot in my first post. The app I'm using there is WhatsApp. And since you have a Nexus, it should work without any problem.
I'll take a look at your log
Were the dictionary files copied properly. You should've seen a “Done” toast appear?

here some screen shots just in case
i did say successfully installed ,it is 33mb 9 files . and i can define the word test within ur app .

Oh yes you did mention that. I'm sorry. Very late here and I'm sleepy
And I don't think there are any errors related to this module in your log. Will have a look again in the morning.
No problem . tomorrow is another day . hopefully we'll find out what went wrong . thanks a lot & good night.
