Hi,
Any recent apps installed after which you started seeing battery drain ? Also, try a factory reset and see if that helps. Also, if your phone is rooted or if you have installed a customer rom try using a different one. :good:

I have Taiwan Version D838 on Stockrom rooted,no Battery Problems.
Even with lollipop based roms im still getting the screen flickering bug. i know i can lock it and get rid of it temporarily. But i want to try custom roms without getting this bug. please help
Yeh I'm getting it too..... At lowest brightness?? WITH "Adaptive Display" enabled? (Dual-sim Moto G 2013, XT1033)
Just wait for the stock 5.0.2 image and flash it, the flickering should be fixed. Then use any Lollipop based Rom and you're ready.

Sorry, my bad. Got flickering on 5.0.2 too. Looks like we're gonna have to wait for the kernel source release
I think this will be fixed in android 5.1 update if it comes to moto g.
any success
i have this screen flickering problem hlp
Hey guys my moto g XT1032 has been incredibly slow since the update to 5.0.1, I think this is due to the memory leak issue?
Restarting solves the issue for all of 20 mins - I've also tried wiping the cache.
Has anyone had any experience with this ?
I'm stuck between waiting for 5.1 and fixing it or downgrading to kitkat - it's incredibly frustrating at this stage waiting for my apps to load.

IMO kitkat is far more responsive, quick, and stable than lollipop. Lollipop 5.1 is better than 5/5.01/5.02 but I still prefer kitkat over Lollipop. That's just my opinion.

Okay. In your original post you stated that you have the 2nd gen moto g. The xt1032 is the 1st gen moto g.
Also, if your bootloader is not unlocked and/or you are not rooted then you are stuck on Lollipop. If it is unlocked then you can adb fastboot the correct 4.4.4 firmware for your phone to go back to KitKat. I purchased my xt1028 with JellyBean on it, ota'd to 4.4.2 KitKat, then later took the 4.4.4 ota. Unlocked bootloader, rooted it and flashed numerous KitKat roms. Then upgraded my bootloader from 41.13 to 41.19 and flashed more than a few Lollipop roms. At the end of the day, I am just not impressed with Lollipop at all. Too bright, too many colors, and the design is too kiddie-like, as though they designed it for kindergarten children. Grow up android, and make an os for adults.
I reverted back to KitKat and I like it far better. Although I am about done with android. Going to iphone.
thanks for the reply - you're right -I'm a 1st gen ( XT1032).
So am I completely stuck on lolipop since the upgrade? ( I'm not rooted)

Yes, unfortunately if you are not rooted you are stuck on lollipop. However, you have a GSM phone and I think it is unlockable through Motorola's bootloader unlock program. Here is a link that may help: http://motogroms.com/moto-g-bootloa...o-g-xt939g-xt1008-xt1031-xt1032-xt1033-xt1034
And if you have success unlocking your bootloader, this link will help you restore KitKat on your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Keep in mind though that when you took the Lollipop ota it updated your bootloader so even if you restore your phone to KitKat you will still have the updated bootloader(bootloader cannot be downgraded) so you will have some screen flicker every time you reboot your phone but that is resolved by just turning the screen off/on.
If you need any further assistance please feel free to let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
Upgraded mine 2 days ago I totally hate lollipop
the lock screen sucks with the speed dial on it .....I have acidently made calls twice......I have had to put a pass code in to stop this happening
untill I can find a way of removing this pile of **** from my phone.

thanks for the reply classic757 - you're a gent
It looks like I'm stuck so for a while. Any sign of an improved 5.1 to deal with the memory leak / slowdown?

Your welcome.
And I am not quite sure if there is a 5.1/5.1.1 Lollipop update for your phone. You can always visit Motorola Software Update Page to check.
Hi,
I should be getting my Z3 back from Sony (after repair) and im guessing it will be on KK (as it will be a new handset)
I want to stay on KK to test the battery life but will be prompted for LP upgrade
is there anyway to stop this from prompting and updating?
Thanks
If you don't want update, just ignore it
Sent from my D6603 using XDA Free mobile app
i downgraded from L to kitkat , with the latest .77 rooted firmware
i have to say that i wont update anymore to android L until battery life and memory leak problems will be REALLY fixed
I'm able to reach 7 to 8 hours SOT with kitkat, with a few tweaks to improve battery consumption.
I 'm almost 100% sure you will notice how kitkat is better on the battery life management.
Thanks! thats the plan!
also when you used rooted KK, does that kill the camera quality? tempted to give it a try
nope because i didn't unlocked bootloader, which is the ONLY operation that will break DRM of camera
Hey guys,
Does anybody know if there is kitkat custom rom and kernel for the 915FY version of the Note Edge?
I tried Lollipop, but am not satisfied with battery drain.
Thank you very much in advance.

Tried cache clearing and factory reset for battery drain?
Yes, but didn't help...
After failing downgrading successfully to kitkat, I went back to micky's lollipop rom and everything seems all right now.
Thank you for your time.
