Rooting Galaxy s3 with 4.3 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 with Android 4.3 and Baseband I535VRUCNC1.
Reading around this site...too much technical jargon and unorganized threads on rooting.
Can some please give me the simple straightforward directions or a link to root my phone so I quit receiving the notification to update to KitKat? I don't want KitKat.
Thanks.

Excellent. Thanks!!!
I'm now rooted with Towelroot and SDM.apk has been frozen!!!
No KitKat for me!!
In my search I also found this...
http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-s3-bootloader-downgrade-service/
Has anyone verified that this works and the guy is legit? I wouldn't mind taking this one step further and going back to 4.1.2

If you do it verify with us if it worked. $50 is totally worth it for that service. I think it's legitimate, very reputable company.

I know that MobileTechVideos has a bootloader downgrade service but I haven't seen anyone post back that they actually had the service done. They do good work in terms of their other repairs but I just haven't seen anyone post about the results of this specific service.

[Q] 4.3 OTA - Warranty Replacement Phone/Root/Unlock

I just received my warranty replacement S3 from verizon and noticed it came with 4.3 installed. I looked around to find out how to root it and unlock the bootloader and from what I've read, the bootloader is locked completely, for now... Is there a root method I can use that won't trip this Knox crap? Sorry, I tried googling and searching but couldn't find a whole lot. I didn't even know about this Knox crap since I was always on CM11.

The only root method we have for VRUCML1 4.3 update is Saferoot. As you can see, it is in the S4 section but has been confirmed to work for the S3 on 4.3 plenty of times. You will obtain root access if you follow this.

Thank you, I'm rooted now. Hopefully someone will find a way around this knox security thing verizon's got going on. Otherwise I'll be on stock rooted 4.3 for awhile. Thanks again, rooted is a lot better than nothing

No problem! Would you like to run custom TW VRUCML1 roms? Cuz Hashcode ported Safestrap over to the S3 which allows one to flash roms based on the same kernel as the VRUCML1 OTA.

Rooting the AT&T LG G2

My friend has the AT&T G2 and she received an OTA update to her phone on 2/13/14. I want to help her root her phone but I am not sure if the update she received will present any challenges. Can I still use the rooting methods that were already established before her phone received this update ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sub'd.
I was literally doing the exact same thing this afternoon too. My friends phone has the newest OTA and is on firmware D80010q.
I tried the normal methods to no avail. I was able to get Superuser on the phone, however, didn't have root access. From what I've been able to come up with we have to downgrade to D80010d in order to root it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50354625&postcount=2121
I also am looking for some confirmations on what I mentioned above. Thanks!

Yep that's true. From what I have read in this forum if you have q or o then you have to downgrade to d in order to root. At least that seems to be the proven way!

Yeah its not my phone, its a girl who lives a few hours away. But if the rooting software isn't updated by the next time I see her (2 weeks or so), I'll most likely give it a shot. Post here or PM me and keep me updated on how it all goes. I found a youtube video that went through it and it doesn't seem that difficult.
Yea my friend isn't exactly close and she is likely to be deterred by any extra steps.
Does that video cover downgrading the software version back to d? If so post the link. If it's just a rooting a video I don't need it. I already rooted my Sprint G2.

Root help.

Hello, not new to rooting at all. Just got an S6 build G920VVRU4BOK7 and apparently I can't find a way to root this device without tripping KNOX.
Can anyone point me to a thread or something where this has been discussed? (yes I searched and nothing came up)
I'm running 5.1.1
Thank you,
Cody

What phone currently available for Verizon network IS rootable?
Any of the Note variants?
Any Nexus model?
I don't mean it has to be purchased at Verizon just capable of running on the network.

Looks like $549 is the price I'm finding for the 64 gb (in the US) have you found it for less?
The title and OP in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/general/root-list-root-apps-t3106204 - reads as if rooting the phone is possible.
That said it doesn't detail how to root and none of the other threads seem to indicate it either. Last I checked rooting the S6 was not readily possible, especially if you care about not tripping Knox.

Yes, firmware versions OE2 and below can be rooted. The OP is talking about version G920VVRU4BOK7 which cannot be rooted. There is currently no rooting method available whether it trips KNOX or not.

On 4.4.2 you're either stuck using safestrap recovery and Touchwiz ROMs, or you can pay to have a jtag soldered in which allows for downgrading back to 4.3 or older
