My 32Gb external SD-Card started removing itself unexpectedly. I was wondering maybe it occured a formatting compatibility issue? It was working fine up until recently. I remove the card and reinsert it, and it works fine for a little while and starts removing itself again. Does anyone have any similar experience? If so, any workarounds?

I have an HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) and I run both PIE and Opera Mobile 8.5, sometimes both at the same time. Anyway, I originally had moved the cache files to the SD card to save internal memory on the device. A few months after I got the device, the SD card failed. I thought it might have been due to very frequent access (read/write) by the browser operation. Has anyone else experienced issues with using the SD card for the browser cache. I have a long commute and do heavy browsing, for up to 2 hours/day.
Thanks,
I assume the problem is not with the reading/writing.. probably with the software itself.. unless your wizard is truly overused.
What exactly are you asking? how to overcome the problem if the SD card failing? or how to retrieve the info from it?
I use my SD Card for RSS reader cache... have done so for years (on my Himalaya) and haven't had a problem...yet

I was just wondering if anyone else had an issue with the card failing? It may have been a hardware failure. I read somewhere that there were a large but finite number of read/write cycles for a SD card. My thought was that if I was spending a lot of time surfing and the card was constantly reading and writing to the same area that it might have caused it to burn out. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Since then I have only used my SD card for storage and seldom used programs however, recently I started having memory issues and was thinking of moving the cache to the card again.
I can tell you that the probability of that happening is so minimal, you will probably be hit by lightning before that happens.
Of course, a hardware failure may be the problem.. a nice phat SD card costs nothing nowadays. I suggest you try to somehow read it on a comp and bring back the files and move them to a new card. of course, before buying a new card you should check that the problem is with the card rather than the device.
I have this problem that keeps repeating itself.
I have been using the latest BiffMod Rom for a few weeks, all has been fine until I moved some apps to the MicroSD card via the inbuilt application manager.
The phone works fine for a while and then one day, nothing. the phone doesnt want to boot or anything. After some investigating it turns out its the MicroSD card that is corrupt.
If remove it from the phone, the phone operates as expected, If I insert it, I either get freezing, or the safely remove SD card message. The card wont mount.
I have tried the card in a Windows PC and it will read the Fat32 but freezes after a while.
Now this is not the first time this has happened and the pattern is emerging that it seems to be when ever I move apps to the SD.
Has anyone else had similar problems, I have gone through 3 of the same card in about as many months, luckily I have a bunch of cards from work. But its super annoying.
completely The card ends up been completly useless.

Well, for one, Biffmod moves apps2sd automatically, using scripts and when you do it manually, you are messing with the mod. So, thats where you messed up.
Secondly, I too messed up a 16GB Class10 SD card but, was able to fix it by reformatting it in ubuntu then again in Amon_RA recovery menu. I originally had it formatted 1024MB ext4/96MB swap...when I re-parted it, I had to change the sizes for it to work. Now, its 512MB ext4/32MB swap.
Third, a guy (MrBurrito) gave me this script file he made to try and fix the card. You copy it to your sd card, flash it in recovery, wait 10-20 seconds after it finishes and, then reboot. It didn't work for me but, I'll attach it, maybe it can work for you.
Hi,
I have motorola atrix 2 MB865 with 32gb sd card. It was working fine for a long time. I had pattern lock and my kid put multiple patterns and got it permanantly locked. There was no way of unlocking it other than resetting the phone.
I did that, since then there were lot of problems related to sd card. Often my sd card was shown as damaged sd card in phone and i need to reformat it but in pc it never showed like it. Once reformatted it worked fine for a few days.
Another problem is that while I am shutting down the phone it gets stuck on that process, as soon as i remove the sd card - it shuts down immediately. (its FAT32 formatted)
I am not able to understand what problem it might be. Have any one of you experienced such a situation and solved it. I would like to fix it as soon as possible. but out of choices. Any leads would help.
Thanx!
Regards

its a bug rmove and insert the sd card or connect to pc in mass storage mode then switch to file transfer(mtp) mode.
Above methods always fix this issue for me

removing and inserting didn't worked for me, but hope that this second method will work. I'll try it and let you know!
none of those methods work.. i'll format that sd card, hope it'll work
I have this problem too and nothing seems to help. 3 different brand cards, one brand new. did chckdsk with no errors, formatted to exFAT.... but i still get "now safe to remove" and "preparing sd card" one after the other all the time
I have a class 10 SDHC microsd card from samsung in my galaxy s7. EVERY time I reboot, the card is shown as corrupted. I checked it with my card reader on my PC and not a single error was found.
Note: I noticed that when my device is even the slightest bit warm, this happens during reboot; however, if I turn off my device and let it cool under an air conditioner and then boot it on with the card, it's more likely to detect the microSD card and work as normal.
Anyone face any similar issue?

Either the SD Card is faulty, or you have a defective device... I am using an SD card and never faced such issues.
I have exactly the same problem as you do. Whenever I reboot my phone or unmount the SD-card, the card becomes corrupted. Wondering if buying a new SD-card might solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Have you tried reformatting the microSD card?
Yes, multiple times.
